Ordered online. Didn't taste bad but wouldn't order again. The Alfredo sauce was really thin, almost the thickness of a creamy soup instead of an Alfredo sauce. It tasted good but I wasn't a fan of the consistency. Also I got a pasta dish with chicken/spinach/broccoli but there was no broccoli in it at all and just 3-4 chunks of chicken. It also wasn't packaged well, the sauce was so thin and the container wasn't pushed down all the way around so around a third of the sauce spilt and soaked through the bag. Had a very bad experience at Alfredo's Kitchen. Ordered a pasta dinner and side salads. While eating the pasta dinner, I came across a large rubber band in the food. When I brought it to the attention of Alfredo, the owner, he lost his temper, became extremely angry, and started yelling at me. He didn't seem to want to take responsibility, and even seemed to insinuate that I may have been responsible (which was ridiculous). He refunded my dinner and rudely told me to never order from him again and never come back (even though I've been a customer for several years). I told him his response was very unfair, and he responded by saying he didn't care about fair, he cared about making money for his family. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. This is no way to talk to a customer. DON'T EAT HERE!! This owner has a very bad attitude and does not deserve your business. He is not interested in the quality of his food, his only concern is his ego! read more

If you're in Boston gotta have Italian food. A very reasonably priced option for great Italian food is Alfredo's in Brighton. Very easy to find on a corner right on Brighton Ave. it's a one man operation with a full menu. What we like about the menu is that you can order any pasta with any sauce. This time we used DoorDash and ordered the Mongibello pizza, linguine carbonara and ravioli in meat sauce. And cannoli for dessert ;-). Everything, of course, was very tasty and well made with the freshest ingredients. Prices a super reasonable, the one dude is real nice. When we go in-person we enjoy chatting with him. The Good: - Reasonable Garlic Bread (strangely difficult to find at other places) - Chicken Marsala with Mushrooms (nice large shrooms, tasty sauce) - Amount of pasta, in general, good. - Tiramisu (apparently homemade?) was quite reasonable. The Meh: - Chicken Broccoli Ziti - plenty of broccoli (yay), but alfredo sauce lacks flavor (other reviews were correct) - drastically improved after adding our own sea salt and freshly ground pepper. - Shrimp Fra Diavolo - very sparse flavor in the sauce, what there was wasn't spicy - we didn't want more sauce (though it was dry), just wanted more flavor. Improved by adding salt and pepper. Overall: Reasonable value for the money, but maybe other dishes are better. The things we'd repeat are the Marsala, the tiramisu, and maybe the garlic bread. read more

Tonight, we went to Alfredo's late and we were the only customers, so we chatted with the owner, Alfredo, over random topics, which made our dinner experience as cozy as we ate at an old friend's place, very pleasant. I've been wanting to try this place for a while, due to the great reviews and it being so close to my house. I finally was able to order delivery from here today for lunch. One thing to be aware of - they advertise free delivery on their sign and website but they actually don't deliver themselves, only through DoorDash. Onto the food- I ordered the frutti di Mare with homemade pasta, which was very good. The sauce (garlic white wine) was creamier that I expected, but was pretty good, and the seafood was fresh and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the tortellini al pesto, which was also great. He remarked that the tortellino (is that the singular?) were large. However, the sauce was a little oily. Overall, Alfredo's lived up to a majority of my expectations but wasn't as mind blowing as I'd hoped. That being said, I am excited to try other pastas and sauces here. read more

My friends from college have been regulars at Alfredo's for years, so the owner greeted us enthusiastically upon arrival. This was my first time, so I had high expectations based on my friends' experiences. It's a really small, hole in the wall type of place, and I definitely recommend calling ahead to check if the place will be open by the time you're there. I saw previous reviews that recommended the homemade pasta. I ordered the mussels scampi with homemade pasta and it was soooo good. The pasta was perfectly cooked. I tried all of my friends dishes as well, and I could say the quality was pretty consistent. After our meal, we also tried the homemade tiramisu and cannolis. Everything was so good that we ordered more. Although I'm not a cannoli expert, I really enjoyed the mini cannolis at Alfredo's, and I'll definitely be getting them the next time I'm there as well. Honestly, this is the best pasta I've ever had. The owner is super nice and suggested I try his fresh fusilli, which turned out to be AMAZING with the vodka sauce (what my mom ordered). I had the linguini with shrimp, mussels, and clams. It was perfect. Light on the sauce but still full of flavor and not at all dry, like other people have said. The seafood didn't taste fishy. Everything was delicious, and the price wasn't bad! The owner is incredibly sweet as well. I'm visiting Boston from Seattle, but I will DEFINITELY come back here if I get the chance again. This guy is like one of those street acts where one person plays the drums, the guitar and does the vocals in a special booth that he built himself. Bascially this place is a small booth where this one man can just about reach every pot, pan, and container by himself. Watching him cook is like watching that one man band belting out a tune. He's all hands and arms in every which direction. Stirring some pasta here, ladding sauce on another dish there, and plating order and order. I trudged over to the very conveniently located Alfredo's for some food, and was so hungry I elected to eat there instead of wasting the 10 minutes walking back with it. Thanks to the man behind the counter (Alfredo?) for sparing me judgement, despite my mouth-breathing, matted hair, sweats (that I had put on backwards, I realized) covered in cat hair, and crusty nose. Anyway-- - THE SPACE: Small. I assume they most of their business from takeaway and delivery (I would suggest calling them instead of ordering through foodler, etc to avoid any delivery costs/costly minimum charges.) They do have a couple of seats (enough for 6-7 people) and a TV. - THE FOOD: So cheap given the portion size. I got the pesto gnocchi with chicken (you can add chicken or shrimp for a couple of bucks) and could only finish a third of it. The gnocchi was pillowy, the pesto was delicious and totally un-canned, and the chicken was (surprisingly) moist and crispy. Comes with some very garlic-y garlic bread. The whole thing cost about $10. Have since gone back twice. Pay the extra money for homemade pasta. It's worth it. And, if there's space, eat there because there's something magical about watching them pour your pasta from the pan to the bowl and diving into your food immediately afterwards. read more

I understand you can't expect them to break large bills but how do you not have change for a $20?! I wasn't going to refuse to pay for my order (though at this point I'm wishing I had) so I handed the guy his $6 tip. After that I could have used a really good calzone but was again disappointed. I'm giving 2 stars because the meatball and eggplant were flavorful - but with no marinara or sauce (maybe it was just missing?) every bite was just dry and bready. The toppings were all in the center so each end of the calzone was just a flavorless hunk of bread. Worst of all, the Ricotta seems to have gone sour. Nothing about this experience was worth the $20. Both dishes were served within 10 minutes, dusted with Parmesan cheese and hot, so perfect for the cold weather! The portion is big, you can split it into 2 meals easy. We ate more than we usually do, but the food did not feel heavy in our stomachs afterwards. Most people do takeout but if you have some time to spare, do eat in and enjoy the intimate venue. It is very casual, but nevertheless a lovely little niche to spend Friday nights with a loved one. I can see this as my go-to place for quality yet affordable food.
