    The inside of Osteria Morini

We came to Osteria Mornini to celebrate my sister's birthday and had an amazing time. The inside of the restaurant is cozy but chic. Our table had lots of space to spread out, and the music was not too loud. The server greeted us quickly and offered us drinks. She was also VERY acommodating to my diet restrictions (I am pregnant and can't have alcohol or cold cuts, so she showed me the mocktails and also offered substitutions for dishes with prosciutto). We ended up ordering the focaccia, bruschetta, calamari, and burrata to share. The appetizers were excellent, and my husband and I particularly loved the bruschetta. I then ordered the garganelli with creamy truffle sauce, and my husband ordered the pork chop. My garganelli was very flavorful but the cream sauce was just a bit too heavy for me. My husbands pork chop was cooked very nicely but could have been slightly more flavorful. Overall I could see myself returning for the garganelli as I LOVE pasta with a good creamy truffle sauce. For dessert we ordered the torta and bomboloni to share. The bomboloni came out warm and in a cute little dunkin' style box. They were delicious. They were served with an espresso sauce and a chocolate carmel sauce to squirt on top. I would definitely return for this item! The torta was just okay for me. The presentation was beautiful, but the cake itself was a little dry and could have had a more citrus flavor.

This place is amazing!!! The service was immaculate, the waiter was very attentive and offered recommendations on the menu. The mini appetizer bites (not pictured) were unique (Brussels sprouts were bomb!!). For mains, we tried the ragu (gnocchi but can sub for rigatoni), the tagliatelle bolognese, and pumpkin ravioli. Everything was delicious. The pastas are homemade and you can really taste the difference. We had tiramisu and affogato for dessert, the gelato was very smooth. Overall, amazing place! Very nice interior as well.

I was visiting from out of town, and my friend who lives in NJ had heard about this restaurant through a friend, so she made us a reservation. It's tucked away next to a pizza place, which I think has the same owner, as the 2 spots are connected inside. I was a bit disappointed with our waiter. He lacked enthusiasm, which was okay, but even when I asked for recommendations, he just said everything was good without offering anything specific. I ordered the Tagliatelle bolognese, parmigiano. It looked beautiful, but unfortunately was very salty - tasty but i felt thirsty for hours afterward. We shared a dessert, the tiramisu, which was delicious, and my drink was strong and well-made. The inside was smaller than I thought it would be, which made it quaint, but the table we sat at was strange. Two of us on chairs and 2 of us on the seated soft bench. But it was supposedly 3 on chairs and 1 on bench. A bit strange. I'm torn about giving this restaurant a 4-star rating; it's more of a 3.5 in my book.

We enjoyed Thanksgiving here. The staff was exceptionally friendly. The set menu had delicious choices with generous portions. Would definitely recommend!

We had such a great experience! Last night we dined here, they have just undergone some renovations, & I was very impressed. The ambiance is now warm and inviting! They created a cozy atmosphere ideal for both intimate dinners & lively gatherings. The service was exceptional; the staff was friendly, attentive, & genuinely passionate about the menu. They made great recommendations & ensured we felt well taken care of throughout our meal. As for the food, it was a delightful journey through Italian flavors. We ordered the pasta flight! The pasta was fresh & the flavorful sauces, each dish was beautifully presented and packed with authentic taste. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit. The renovations & new menu have truly elevated the experience, & I can't wait to return to explore more of their delicious dishes!

Food 5 Service 5 Ambiance 5 Decor 5 Went on the Sunday of Valentine's Day a few wknds ago, 6:30pm reservation. Place was pretty packed. We were initially sat at a tiny table close to the front door, next to an olive tree. It was an awkwardly placed table since it felt like the tree was almost on top of you. We asked our server if we could sit at the bar since there were empty seats and she said no problem. So glad we decided to sit at the bar because we got to chat with our server Cass, who was so lovely and attentive! After telling her it was our 1st time, she explained how they recently renovated, added more tables but haven't gotten additional servers yet so she apologized in advance for that. We ordered: Apps- Melanzane, calamari, Romana salad Entrees- tagliatelle, tortelloni I asked Cass if they made their pasta in-house and she said some are and some aren't. Luckily the ones we chose were made in house and boy were they scrumptious! The tagliatelle was perfectly al dente and the sauce was so savory and meaty. My only slight critique on the tortelloni was that it could have used another 30 seconds/ minute boiled. My husband liked it and thought the consistency was great. I'm quite particular about my pasta as I lived in Italy and can be nit picky lol All the apps were wonderful and quickly devoured. Calamari was the most tender I've ever had! Our server apologized that our pasta took longer than expected to come out so they comped our dessert which was greatly appreciated. The bomboloni is aMUST ORDER! Overall, service was great even though they were understaffed. We certainly didn't feel affected by it since Cass was so attentive. Will we return to osteria morini? Heck yes!

Most authentic Italian restaurant in NJ. We love pasta and their pastas are transportive. Just like being in Italy. You can tell that the team is a "family" with Jake being the patriarch. COULD NOT HAVE BEEN BETTER!

We finally made it here, what a wonderful experience. Very nice cozy dining-room, our server was very welcoming and explained menu and mentioned their house made pastas. The oysters were delicious, very fresh and the tomato mignonette was so good! Chicken Parmesan was a very nice portion, cooked to perfection. The Chittara seafood pasta was exquisite.

There were tons of intriguing options on the menu, and it took me longer than usual to decide. The service was friendly and appreciated. For appetizers, the oysters ($1 each), and the salmon ceviche special ($21) was ordered. The oysters are typically $3, but on Wednesday and Thursday, they are $1. They were from the East coast and small. The cocktail sauce was pleasant with just enough heat. The ceviche had serrano chili, pineapple relish, and a micro salad. This was tasty. I really liked how the salmon was cut. There was a good amount present, but some parts were a little tough. I liked the combination of the spicy serrano chili with the sweet pineapple relish, but I surprisingly wanted a little more of the pineapple. For an entrée, I had the blackened pork chop ($38). It came with a roasted butternut squash puree, sauteed asparagus, and a pineapple chutney. This was great. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium temperature with the right amount of seasoning. The puree was a nice touch and the pineapple chutney paired nicely with the pork. The asparagus was nice in the puree and cooked ideal too. I also tried the sesame-crusted ahi tuna that came with a Jasmine rice cake, baby bok choy, and a ginger Thai coconut sauce. The tuna was cooked to perfect rare, and the sauce was essentially a curry which was flavorful. The bok choy was hardly seasoned though. Regardless, it was still solid. Will I go back? I would.

We sank into the chairs, talked story with friends, and lost track of time, which really says it all. If you are anywhere near Skytop Lodge, make sure this is on your list. Plan extra time, you will want to linger.

Casa de Montecristo is somewhere I kept putting off coming to & I regret that. This place is…read moreincredible!! A large venue with a large lounge, enormous cigar selection, full bar & restaurant. Staff were very helpful & friendly. You have to take your time and look through this place just to appreciate it. They even have ashtrays mounted on the wall between urinals so you truly never have to leave your cigar behind, lol. They have a huge parking lot as they sit on a site all their own. I was surprised to learn that when ordering food (not desserts or drinks) you get a cigar with it. You don't choose it, they do. I got a 'Romeo y Julieta Reserve,' so a quality cigar, not some random nonsense. Not truly sure if that is every time, or just your first time there, which for me it was. I ordered their parm garlic wings & they were very good and well prepared. The space is great & very comfortable. Servers come to you and take your order and bring your food, so you never have to even leave your lounge chair. I found 4 cigars that I hadn't been able to find elsewhere & 2 cigars that I ended up ordering online in the past. Now I know where to find all 6 for future enjoyment. Prices on everything are fair. For 5 cigars, food, non-alcoholic drink, & tip I spent about $110 & got a good complimentary cigar. This place will be highly recommended by me moving forward.

There are very few places left in the world where you can smoke cigars indoors while eating lunch…read more The food here is very mediocre ... and expensive! You do get a free cigar (which is actually a pretty nice, brand name stick in most cases) with your meal, which I am sure goes with the cost. Before the world went utterly insane with inflation ... It used to be one of the best deals ever. The food was $12.95 plus the free cigar! Now, it's more like $23 per sandwich. Owch. The best value was the cheese plate, which at $15 was huge and included fruit. Now, that cheese platter is actually smaller than it used to be and costs $44! The decor is pretty cool ... dark and moody ... but there are a couple TVs with sports playing and high ceilings. The air purification makes it smell a lot less like cigar smoke than it used to ... but know that whatever clothes you wear here will likely need a dry cleaning after. The waitresses have been here forever ... and there are a lot of regulars. Imagine what a guy would look like that would want to smoke a cigar while eating and that's exactly what you will find here as a customer. Fake Sopramos accent ... beefy ... loud ... gold chain ... It's a 'bro crowd' for sure with some flashy investment banker types mixed in. Lots of Hummers and G-Wagons in the parking lot. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves cigars. The food is edible and in some cases even good. But nothing amazing. I've had the corned beef sandwich ... don't expect NYC deli quality ... the flatbread (Trader Joe's is just as good) ... and the Cuban sandwich. All okay. The Cuban left me hungry. You can also eat at the bar and peruse their extensive whiskey and beer menu. The drinks are pricey, so a sandwich, a beer ... and I guess you could count the free cigar ... come to around $40, after tip.
