Orata al Forno (oven roasted sea bream, roasted potatoes, Taggiasca olives, roasted cherry tomatoes): $37
Beril E.

Located inside Eataly and at the heart of the Financial District, Osteria della Pace enjoys lots of corporate foot traffic for lunch. Having tasted the food, however, I do not think the experience is nearly worth the high price tag. There's nothing particularly wrong with the food. It is edible Italian cuisine. It just doesn't taste special, like your neighborhood restaurant could have made the same dishes with a 25% reduction on price. The calamari and zucchini had a good shareable portion, but tasted bland. It was heavily battered in flour, yet the calamari still managed to not keep its coating as we placed the pieces on our plates. The menu indicated that the tomato sauce would be spicy but it tasted like canned marinara sauce to me. I got the Orata al Forno with a side of broccoli rabe for lunch and was not impressed with either of the dishes. The sea bream was nicely roasted and tasted meaty but wasn't deboned well. The roasted potatoes tasted foul. The olives and the roasted cherry tomatoes were palatable, so the dish was not all bad. The broccoli rabe was not seasoned well and still had that bitter taste. My friend got the scallops, which actually tasted fine. The scallops must have been fried in a skillet, in which usually steaks are cooked because they had that nice meaty flavor and a good char on them. But $36 for a total of 3 scallops was robbery. Overall, a subpar experience for truly expensive prices. I'd skip next time.

Complimentary Bread with Extra Virgin Olive Oil

I found this place on yelp as I was searching for a place for valentine's day dinner. I dint know that this restaurant is in the back of Eataly until I went inside. I usually come to eataly to have a pizza slice or some desserts from their bakery but never went inside the restaurant area. But it is surprisingly a very big area and the view is amazing. This area is also shared by other restaurant LA pizza and LA pasta. I had a reservation at 8 pm but we arrived early around 7:30 and they checked our coat as the table was ready. We started with some complimentary bread with extra virgin olive oil. Their were 3 different types of bread and 2 slices of each. I really liked the tomato focaccia bread. We ordered gnocchi sorrentina and Maialino from the Dinner menu. They also had a special valentine'd day menu. Our waiter told us that our order will take 15-20 mins and we were fine by that as we were on a window seat and the view was amazing, was seeing the WTC with all the colorful lights. Our order came in 15 mins, and both dishes looked amazing. Gnocchi - 4/5 I was craving for a pasta but as soon as I saw gnocchi in the menu, I knew its going to my dinner. It came with melted burrata on the top, tomato sauce which was tasty but very less, should have been more on the plate. Gnocchi without sauce and burrata was bland, there was very little seasoning. Overall I liked it, with little more seasoning and more sauce it would have been perfect. Maialino - 4/5 The grilled pork and the pork belly was really good but my husband dint like the vegetables that it came with. Their dessert menu looks really amazing but we were so full that we dint order any dessert. But they gave one fennel cookie and one small chocolate crisp as complimentary desserts. I had a great time, service was very good. Its ambiance is very fancy, a good place for a date. Restrooms are very clean and spacious.

Linguine w lobster. Allegedly looks better than it tasted (cannot confirm!)

I think it's important to start off with the pasta. It was very al dente. Not undercooked. ...to me at least it wasn't. I thought it was perfect. Italian Americans (of which I am one) simply cook their pasta more than Italians in Italy. The antipasti were all very good. We were a table of 8 and got 2 salads, a salumi & formaggio platter, fried calamari & zucchini and a fresh mozzarella. The bread was also good and there was enough for the table. Went with ziti all genovese which I thought was outstanding. Tasted the gnocchi and they were also outstanding. Was told the lobster pasta was so/so, and the ravioli stuffed with sole was also so/so. Just cannot confirm because I didn't taste, but the lobster smelled pretty darn good. Deserts were very good. Had cioccolata. Didn't taste the others like "Italian sundae" (think that was the name), but was it was good. Wine list is extensive and expensive. Equally so! Overall was excellent and team was impressed

Just one word: AMAZING! This little cozy restaurant is an hidden gem in the Eataly DT store. If you are lucky, you can get an amazing table with the suggestive view of the memorial and of the freedom tower (try to ask for it, or write it in the reservation ;) ). The staff is super friendly and you can actually find legit Italians working in the restaurant that make the whole experience even more authentic. We started at the bar, where the bartender made us couple of amazing cocktails. My boyfriend had the No Guey, it was a delicious smokey, fruity, and refreshing cocktail. I had the Italian Sangria. A twist on a Sangria which was made with Lambrusco....tastyyyy! They have a huge selections of wine by the bottle with every kind of price (I would ask for suggestions), and we went for a bottle of DeConciliis "Fiano"...$105 not cheap, but super worthy. We started with the Tuna Carpaccio and a side of mixed greens. The Tuna was super fresh, and the balance of the apple/fish/capers was perfection. We also ordered the Passatelli with Clams and Mussels, a typical Italian pasta. I never saw anything like this in any Italian restaurant in the city since it's pasta made out of bread and cheese. It was literally mind blowing. We also had the Veal Saltimbocca which melted in our mouths. It was such a flavorful piece of meat! We didn't have any dessert because we were too full, but we cannot wait to come back to try more food!

I had a long day at work and was starving. I met up with a friend to grab a quick bite at Eataly downtown. I thought we were getting Pizza or Sandwishes but we ended up at Osteria della Pace at the back of Eataly. I thought it was just a bar when I walk in until the waiter took us to the dining area behind the bar. It was stunning because I didn't expect this view. The interior was very classy and gorgeous, the lighting was perfect for a date. We ordered a bottle of orange color wine the waiter recommended and it was impressive. The prosciutto and pasta dishes we order were absolutely delicious. I would definitely go back. Friendly staffs and I love the marble tables!

Good spot in Eataly downtown. Good place to go with friends. Service was great. We ordered to start: - bread at the beginning was great & fresh with olive and balsamic vinegar. - PANZANELLA E BURRATA: it was very good and abundant. - CARPACCIO DI POLIPO / OCTOPUS: really good and pretty abundant. ENTREES: - Spaguetti al pomodoro: great and really al dente! Very fresh. Size seemed small at first but it's just in appearance because I was pretty full at the end! - PESCE AL CARTOCCIO (mussels, clams): it was good. Could've been better maybe a bit more tastier. Presentation was cool. DESSERT: - DAILY SELECTION OF PASTICCERIA: A bit disappointed.... didn't like them much and it's the same stuff you can get at their coffee shop. - housemade PEAR SORBET: really good!

Karla A.

Food was superb. Service was great. But I felt rushed the entire time. I understand being attentive but I felt we didn't get a chance to look at menu without being asked what we wanted from start to finish. I live in NYC this isn't the norm. This was uncomfortable. But let's talk about the food: Octopus carpaccio amazing 5- everything and more than I expected Burrata 5- never can go wrong with burrata Passatelli di Mare 4- not what I expected too salty and doesn't do pasta right Linguine all'astice 10 - perfection Delicious food. Great servers. But rushed the entire time.

Excellent Saltimbocca alla Romana! And in general I absolutely recommend Eataly for any Italian foodie out there! Osteria della Pace restaurant has an amazing view and it's really charming both during the day and in the night.

If you are coming as a group for a weekday lunch, make sure to have a reservation as this place gets crowded quickly. They start you off with a bread platter and olive oil. The tomato sauce bread was great, but the others were very dry. All breads were cold as well. The entrees were all presented beautifully and were perfectly portioned. The gnocchi can get heavy after a few bites but the acidity of the tomato sauce balances it out. The burrata added to the gnocchi dish was divine and creamy. The food is very high quality and service is amazing. You get what you pay for here.

I really enjoyed my experience. What make the meal was the night was the wonderful service at the bar from Sean. He made all the right recommendations. From wine to food....He was truly an excellent bartender. A professed "wine geek" who knows his wines. We only had 3 things: olives (excellent) Eggplant (decent) Octopus (delicious and worth a try)

Ryan P.

Should have looked at yelp before I came and would have seen the 3 stars. The atmosphere and appetizers were great but the main course came out cold the first time. Then everything was lacking in flavor, the sauce tasted like it was out of a jar and the meat like it had been sitting all day. Unless you are just coming for apps and a drink would find someplace else.

Thank you, darling hubby! xo Ci Siamo serves some of the best sublime delicious Italian cuisine in the city under the helm of superstar Chef Hilary Sterling. Our merry party of five indulged with : - Carmelized Onion Torta - Pizza Bianca - Cast Iron Focaccia - Stracci pasta - Rigatoni Alla Gricia - Olive Oil Poached Orata - Braised Lamb - Limon Tarte dessert -Basque Cheesecake Accompanied by splendid wine selection. It was hard to find gps wise if you've never been there, I went past it by a city block. It's located in a gigantic plaza that you get to by the stairs outside. There was free wine in the elevator that you really couldn't see in (very dark) I didn't indulge in it the first time. It was pretty busy inside, since I was a party of 1, I asked if it's mandatory to sit by the bar and it wasn't. I was seated on the left side across from the bar at a smaller table by the window. At first I was bothered by the foot traffic behind me but pushed the table further in & felt better. Now for the food: I ordered the caramelized onion torta and listen it was wayy too rich for just one person, this is definitely a sharing appetizer for dare I say minimum 3 people. The richness was definitely overkill, I brought my own sparkling water but ordered an Arnold Palmer to calm down that flavor. While it had a good crust on the cheese and nice pastry on the bottom, I wish I had ordered something else. Quite expensive to not enjoy it (5/10). I passed on the vegetable part of the menu. Entree: Cavatelli Allo Scoglio, so delicious. I've never had that type of pasta in a dish before but it compliments it well, cooked to perfection. It comes with plenty of crab and the lemon zest balanced the dish just right against the acids of the tomatoes. (9/10) Dessert: I was torn if I should order dessert or not but what's a meal without sweets. They had plenty of gelato flavors but I decided to go with hazelnut and man I was not disappointed. BEST gelato I've ever had. It was so creamy and delectable that I still think about it to this day. The cup it comes in seems small but they pack it with more than you think. I almost passed on the candied hazelnuts on top but please don't do it lol, chefs kiss just perfect. (10/10) On the way out I was going to try the wine and grabbed a glass but again in the dark elevator I turned on my flashlight to see the cups there were all used. I think they should come around often to leave clean glasses or put up a sign to identify which are clean and which aren't. Overall I'd return for the entree and dessert and maybe try a vegetable option over the other appetizers. Also, props to my waiter for being attentive and kind.

There are numerous locations now in the city but this was my first time going and I was definitely eyeing it for awhile. They do weekday lunch specials of $14 pastas, boozey weekend brunches for around $24/25(not including food), and $12 Sunday dinner specials on entrees as well as happy hours on weekdays from 4-7pm that include: $7 snacks, $8 wine, $5 beer, $9 spritzes, and $9 wells. I happened to come in for Labor Day Brunch on Saturday. We both said we were going to do unlimited but honestly could only finish about a pitcher of mimosa and they only charged us for the one pitcher was the nice part. I went with Carbonara Pasta and my boyfriend had the egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich with fries. I'm not gonna lie, I've never gone to aycd brunch and have not finished my food but I could not finish my entree it was so massive and filling. I haven't had a pasta this rich in ages and it was so so good and I am all for not having those skimpy little portions. He couldn't finish his sandwich either. I tried one of the fries and it was nicely battered thick cut wedge fries. Maybe I haven't been eating out alot lately but I was legit impressed. The staff was wonderful and thoughtful. The cafe in itself is very cute and Italian with black and white marble in the bathrooms, white marble bar top, hanging plants, interesting light fixtures. I'm definitely going to make a point to come back soon.

This means those dishes aren't truly gluten free for people with celiac disease or anyone who has to avoid gluten. When I pointed that out to my server, he just gave me a blank stare. I tried to explain why labeling those items as gluten free is misleading, but he seemed completely disinterested, even annoyed, dismissed what I was saying, and simply responded that the pasta is gluten free. I acknowledged that the server doesn't write the menu, but absolutely zero customer service skills. The service overall was lacking. Aside from taking our order, no one checked on us or came back to see if we needed anything. Our server was just hanging out chatting up the hostess. We had to request the bill from the manager & paid at the hostess stand. Before paying, I spoke with the manager and explained what had occured. He was more professional than the server, but he was still dismissive of my concerns and of the service we received. Management seemed happy enough to promote the "option". The food was okay, definitely not enough to make up for the poor service and handling of a serious dietary issue. Needless to say I will not be returning.

They were pretty busy for a Tues night when we got there, but they had a good table ready for us. They noted that we were celebrating an anniversary and brought us out champagne without having to say anything or ask. We ordered a lot! Started with an espresso martini and my husband got a bourbon drink. The espresso martini did not disappoint! Then we got the mushrooms with a fried egg on top, foccacia bread and the crispy potatoes as sides. The crispy potatoes were my fave. They had great flavor and crispiness. For entrees, we got three pastas. The spaghetti (which was a white sauce spaghetti), the bucatini and the truffle ravioli. They accidentally brought us a cacia e peppe out instead of the ravioli so we got to try a 4th. The pasta was ALL so delicious. The ravioli was my fave. The spaghetti was also very unique because it didn't look or taste like a tomato sauce. The service was great and we really appreciated the nice extra touches with the champagne toast and what I considered a better table than most! It was a corner table on the top floor for 4 people when we were only two people! Gave us some extra space so we weren't on top of another party. The interior was completely packed, and the noise level was high enough for my smart watch to complain. To sample a bit of everything, we shared two orders of focaccia, four pastas, and one dessert. HOUSE-MADE FOCACCIA - 10 Super bouncy with a bit of chew, this was probably the best focaccia I've ever eaten. It came generously drizzled with olive oil and alongside chopped peppers drenched in even more olive oil, which added a nice little kick. We highly recommend starting with this. TAGLIATELLE - 27 Out of the four pastas, this was my absolute favorite. I love the thin yet chewy texture of the tagliatelle, and the bolognese sauce was rich and hearty. Finished with just the right amount of Parmigiano, both the pasta texture and sauce were sheer perfection. PICI 'CACIO E PEPE' - 23 This was such a simple pasta, yet so delicious. It was incredibly creamy and cheesy, with hints of fresh black pepper flavor that blew standard at-home black pepper grinders out of the water. Despite it being the simplest pasta of the night, I enjoyed it immensely. RIGATONI - 32 This pasta was simple yet slightly innovative, featuring sausage paired with a broccoli-based pesto. There was a slight bitterness that was polarizing among our group. While this wasn't my favorite pasta, I appreciated the creativity. PERCIATELLI NERO - 35 This dish packed in more components than just pasta and sauce: plenty of crab, tomatoes, and crispy breadcrumbs on top. However, the combination wasn't very memorable. None of the flavors really stood out, and it was my least favorite pasta of the night. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 Served with a pile of golden raisins and fancy whipped cream, this ended up being a bit of a miss. The raisins were a bit too sweet, and the cake's texture was uneven -- some bites were soft and moist, while others felt dry. A couple of others in my group also felt the same way. Overall, I'd give L'Artusi a 4.5/5; it was mostly hits with a couple of misses. The pasta portions are quite small. Since each dish is primarily carbs and sauce, I'd imagine you'll likely need an appetizer or a pasta and a half to leave full. Still, I'd definitely come back for the focaccia, tagliatelle, and the cacio e pepe.
