We visited Casa D'Angelo and ordered a four-cheese pizza. Unfortunately, we were not big fans of it. My kids usually love pizza, but they barely touched it because the crust was very dark and tasted burned. I understand that some wood-fired pizzas are meant to have a bit of char, but this one seemed overcooked for our taste. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and attentive. We appreciated the complimentary fresh hot bread and a cold bottle of water, which was especially welcome on a hot day. The highlight of our visit was watching the chefs prepare dishes with fire and live cooking techniques. The guests at the table next to us ordered lobster and pasta, and it was fun to watch the chefs in action. Overall, the service and atmosphere were enjoyable, but the pizza did not meet our expectations.
Where do I even start with this place? An absolute gem and one of my favorite places I've been to eat in all of NYC. The food here is so authentic I think it might come with a Certificate Of Authenticity on the receipt for keepsake later. The food here was phenomenal and perfect each of the two times we came here. We did the seafood pasta(shrimp and scallops) the ravioli, the lasagna and the chicken Parmesan with some deserts. Not a single complaint across the board on the food. The service was impeccable and on point and never skipped a beat. We sat outside both times and enjoyed the moment when we were here. The staff was top notch and made the experience that much more. I would recommend this place 1,000 times over and still have more to try on the menu when I come middle of 2027.
Crazy good food. Had a reservation. Showed up early. No big thing. Been dying for pasta and was not disappointed. Fettuccine with shrimp and JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT of serving. Not too big like a chain and not to small. Just right. Great way to kick off our trip.
Went here last night with another couple. Located on Mulberry Street smack in the middle of Little Italy. It was a nice night so the had the whole front open with indoor and outside sitting. They serve some nice Foccacia bread for starters with olive oil. The girls shared a mista salad which they said was very good. We shared an order if arancini which was very good but could have been fried a little longer for a crunchier exterior. For mains our friends had the mushroom risotto and gnocchi with pesto sauce. They said both were very good. My wife and I both had the Shrimp Scampi. It was good but could have used a little more garlic. Service was excellent. My one complaint was the asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. Now when I say still I expect tap water, but no they were serving bottled still and made sure they kept pouring . Charged for 3 bottles at $8.25 a pop, so be aware of that. Made me feel ripped off a bit after a pleasant dining experience.
We found this place on Yelp since we were in soho and it's convenient and my kid wanted steak and my husband wanted pasta. We ordered their special steak with pasta on the cheese wheel. The pasta was on a sweeter side. The steak was good with good texture and flavor. Sever was also very professional and attentive. I am not sure if it's a typical practice bc they charged us a convenience charge on top of tips without telling us before the bills. The appetizer scallops could skip bc it's very small and the taste was a little strange.
Great place located in the heart of little Italy. Our server, Cameron was wonderful, made some great recommendations and was quick and efficient. Highly recommend their minestrone soup, lobster raviolis and shrimp scampi.
No trip to New York is complete without an Italian dinner in Little Italy. There are so many restaurants to choose from but I ultimately selected the home of the famous cheese wheel pasta dish! The cheese wheel pasta was just as good as expected. The meatballs and arancini starters were good but they didn't really compare to the star of the show. This place is definitely worth checking out.

BEWARE SCAM PASTA PRICES- After wandering down the street during the little Italy festival with hundreds of places to eat we decided to eat here and asked for the pasta made in the wheel, just like the one almost all places were selling and for what we had seen for about $25. We had 1 bowl of pasta, 1 glass of wine which was $20 and a sparkling water and our bill came to $122!!!!!! When we questioned it they said the pasta was $65 and it's a special one and not on the menu. If all there other pasta dishes on the menu are $25-$35 dollars then why is this such an exorbitant price plus if you are selling something this expensive then you should at least advise the customer of this. There wasn't even some sort of show with cooking the pasta by the table in the cheese wheel. Plus where was the other $60 from for a bottle of sparkling water and a wine. Not happy at all and I would not recommend the restaurant no matter how good the food is as scamming people like that is immoral!!!
I was craving my favorite pasta, Cacio e Pepe, and out of the several Italian restaurants recommended in Little Italy, Casa D'Angelo does it the right way, which is with Pecorino Romano Cheese, not Parmegianno (Parmesan). That's the way I've had it everywhere in Rome where Cacio e Pepe originated from. Cacio e Pepe is spaghetti-style pasta with black pepper and Pecorino cheese, and it is a wonderful, deceptively simple dish . The black pepper is what brings that spicy bite to the salty hard cheese to tingle the taste buds. Every bite is a delight here! Don't bother paying a lot more for this pasta from a cheese wheel like in a few places nearby, especially if it's a Parmesan cheese wheel. You pay a whole lot more and the pasta becomes overly cheesy and you lose the peppery nature of it. Stick with the traditional way of enjoying Cacio e Pepe. The restaurant is a very classic Italian restaurant. The only slight knock is while I love the olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette, the toasted bread was a bit on the hard side.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and get the table side alfredo for sure. This is home style food - enjoy the pureness and delicious simplicity.
Disappointing return to Mulberry Street at Casa D'Angelo I was super excited to visit New York and go back to Little Italy on Mulberry Street. I saw the original Angelo's had reopened as Casa D'Angelo, but I left very disappointed. The bread was excellent -- that was the highlight. Unfortunately, the rest didn't hold up. The spadini, which used to be one of my favorites, was three times as thick as it should've been and raw in the center. The spicy vodka rigatoni had no flavor and the pasta was mushy, the veal parmesan was just fair, and the spaghetti was halfway decent. I was so let down that I didn't even stay for dessert. Really hoped for better on this return visit.
We were in little Italy and decided to try this place ! First, service was amazing , they deserve all stars for service. They have casual Italian ambience. Food was good. Burrata : This is an amazing appetizer for vegetarians. Burrata was very fresh and flavorful. The base is chopped and cooked eggplant and sautéed with some vegetables. This whole thing totally work as a combination. Tortellini de ricotta : This was recommended by server. We enjoyed it. The sauce is creamy and buttery. Pasta with chicken ( pollo Fransence) : This is spaghetti noodles with very nice lemon butter sauce. Chicken was bit chewy and I did not enjoyed the taste. This place may not have been a standout for me but I can see how others are enjoying ... it has a cool vibe !

Had a wonderful experience at Casa D'Angelo! The staff was incredibly attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful, especially with their recommendations. They shared some of their favorite dishes, which made ordering easy and made the meal feel more personal. We started with the Caesar salad and truffle fries, followed by the steak cooked medium rare, which was absolutely perfect--tender, juicy, and cooked exactly as requested. The Bucatini all'Amatrician was also delicious and full of flavor. We enjoyed a glass of Merlot with dinner, then finished with a macchiato and chocolate lava cake--the perfect combination to end the meal. The complimentary limoncello was a really nice touch and a great way to finish the evening. Great food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff clearly cares about their guests and knows their menu well. Definitely worth a visit and a place I'd happily return to! read more

This place was delicious. We were looking for real Italian food, and they delivered. Everything was amazing. My son had the pasta in Alfredo sauce that was cooked in a cheese wheel with truffles on top. It was terrific. I had a risotto with mushrooms. Definitely one of the best I've ever had! Prices were pretty reasonable. Service was good. Only odd thing was a guy taking pics and then trying to sell them to you for $20. Definitely cheapened the experience. read more

Little Italy NY Treasure!!!!!! We had lunch her. A group of 5. We were greeted and drawn in by a fun and friendly gent. We walked in and were quickly seated. The ambiance was very Italian and full of life. Our server was incredibly informative and helpful. The food was AMAZING!!!!! We had different pasta dishes all made fresh right there. We enjoyed watching one of our dishes made in the cheese wheel and topped with truffle oil and fresh truffle slices. Desserts were superb!!!! A must try when in town!!! read more

I stopped by on a recent trip to NYC. I was in the area, and this restaurant had good Yelp Reviews. I was very disappointed in the food. I think it's possibly because of what I ordered and not the food itself. I did enjoy the house wine that was very affordable. The free bread was also delicious. I enjoyed watching the waiter make and serve the alfredo sauce from a cheese wheel for another guest. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try that dish because of my dairy limitations. If I was back in NYC again, I would probably skip this restaurant for something else in the area. Sorry Casa D'Angelo. read more

Great Italian restaurant and excellent experience here, everyone was super nice and accommodating. Love the ambiance and the food was amazing. It was very busy for a Thursday night. For appetizer, my friend and I shared the burrata, definitely a must have. I ordered the rigatoni alle polpette, very good but wished it came with more meatballs, only came with two. My friend ordered the tortellini di ricotta. I enjoyed this pasta more, I would definitely recommend this one. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, we thought it was very good, perfect way to end our dinner. Fabio even showed us the kitchen where they make pasta, this was very cool. I look forward to coming back to try their other dishes. read more
I came here with my friends during the San Genaro festival. We were looking for a place to sit down and eat. This place looked clean and the staff seemed very friendly. We ordered a few drinks, I had a spritz and my friends had margaritas. The drinks were good. The ambience also was nice. Everyone around us was enjoying themselves and laughing. Fresh homemade pasta and great people watching. The staff are lovely and service is exceptional. Try one of the pastas in their cheese wheel and get a seat outside on the patio. The vodka rigatoni and chicken piccata were delicious! Reservations are not needed, while it gets busy you can still grab a walk-in table. The restrooms also look newly removed and are very clean. read more
We had the BEST experience here. Good wine, good food, great service, fun atmosphere. I loved every minute of it. Honestly I can't say anything negative, you won't regret this stop, it tasted very authentic and we got plenty to eat! I loved the mushroom risotto, and the lobster ravioli was great! Florin took amazing care of us for my daughter's Sweet 16 dinner! We arrived about 30 minutes early for our reservation and were still seated immediately. The bread was fresh and delicious. We had meatballs and mozzarella for appetizers (the mozzarella is huge) and both were delicious. Our entrees were pepperoni pizza, fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs, and two cheese wheel pastas with truffles. The cheese wheel pasta stole the show but all of us were very happy with our choices. Dessert was tiramisu and cheesecake. Everything was delicious and just what we wanted in Little Italy. Casa d'Angelo is a wonderful, intimate, traditional Italian restaurant and I highly recommend it. read more
We came across this place while walking through little Italy and they caught us with the fresh pasta made in a cheese wheel. It did not disappoint. We started with the anti-pasta Italiano and it was amazing. The fettuccine out of the cheese wheel with the black truffle was to die for. Just a nice quaint little restaurant with great food and service. Our server was amazing as well as all the other additional staff even gave us a free champagne when he found out we were on our honeymoon. Highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Food was phenomenal and service was even better. We got one of the specials where the pasta was mixed in a cheese wheel and they invited me to get up close because I was curious and saw I was a photographer. I was so excited and they were so incredibly kind, warm and welcoming. The pasta was all so fresh, and the flavors were fantastic. We came to celebrate my wife's birthday ..our first time in Little Italy and chose Casa D'Angelo's, drawn in by its rich history dating back to 1902. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious!! We split everything.. We ordered the minestrone & miso salad, the beef carpaccio, and the seafood for two, which could have fed for ppl in my opinion... all of which exceeded our expectations. We also shared a bottle of wine from their private cellar, and it was worth every penny. Our server, Fort, was amazing, attentive, knowledgeable, and made our experience even more special. The restaurant is stunning both inside and out. If I ever return to Little Italy in New York, this will definitely be my first stop. read more
Although when you are walking down mulberry street or in little Italy everything may looks very touristy and there are people outside a lot of the restaurants trying to get you to come in I really don't think this place is touristy at all Cavernous space extending back into the building there appears to be plenty of seating We did make a reservation before hand though The service was friendly and prompt It's interesting history for this space particularly . This restaurant reportedly at least per the staff was first opened in 1902 The restaurant burnt down in 2015 and then subsequently reopened I tried the classic pasta in the cheese wheel (flambés in the wheel with some cream sauce) a la denté and delicious but very buttery and very creamy topped with generous black truffle shaving The lasagne was quite rich, soft and filling read more

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at this classic Italian restaurant in Little Italy. The bruschetta was fabulous! Everyone's meals were delicious, though it wasn't my daughter's favorite (ever) lobster ravioli. My shrimp fra diavolo was one of the best (ever). The special was a truffle pasta prepared tableside and, while pricey, it delivered! For dessert, they delivered a cheesecake and a song for my sister's birthday and shots of limoncello. Service was impeccable and the ambiance was also great. While a slightly more expensive option for dinner, Casa D'Angelo was well worth it! read more
