a plate of food in front of a restaurant

I loved their food. But this review is base on a take out during pandemic (covid-19). There reasons are: the staff who is preparing the food and the 2 guys at the kitchen are not wearing a mask and gloves. No sanitizing station. A plexiglass between cashier area is placed and a 2ft marking on the floor is found.

First time trying their chicken on fries and lamb on rice. The sauce was bomb! Wish I had more on top. The meat was good, just a little bit on the dry side, a bit pricey but did thoroughly enjoyed the meal!

Osmow's has been popping up everywhere and one of them finally popped up in my neighbourhood. Since I arrived around 12:15 pm, the meat grilling on the vertical spit just looks impressive! Since everyone recommending Chicken on the Rock, I decided to just follow their advice. And of course Extra Hot for me. A large is good enough to feed 2 of us as a light lunch. I like the bounciness of the rice (rock). The chicken is a little dry but since it was drowned in sauce, it really not much an issue. Not bad for a quick eat but I might ask for half sauce next time so I can at least taste the chicken more.

I have been to Osmow's couple times now and I have only ordered Chicken on the rock. It is just too good that I don't want to try other dishes. I used to order medium size and the portion was huge. Lots of rice at the bottom covered by chicken meat. I also love their white sauce on top. It is a dish that once I start eating and I can not stop until I get full. One thing to be careful for who could not have spicy food is what they called "mild" means few drops of chilly sauce and it is still spicy.

tried the osmows shawarma poutine and it is one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. it is basically osmows fries topped with gravy and chicken shawarma on top + the osmows sauce. However, the flavors all blend and go very well together and you get the best of both worlds. The fries are crunchy, the gravy is tasty, and the shawarma was delicious. If you like shawarma and/or poutine, this is a definite MUST try. Next time I go back here to eat, you bet I'll be getting a repeat order.

Large Chicken on the Rocks - 3 lines of hot sauce

Maybe I've been spoiled by the Lazeez (Osmow's sister chain) locations and other shawarma joints I used to frequent in Waterloo, but the food here just did not live up to my expectations. I came here recently to pick up a large Chicken on the Rocks to try with my family since I always raved about the equivalent order at Lazeez. Service was efficient and there was barely a wait after I placed my order. The chicken quality wasn't the best (found some weirdly textured pieces that I don't know how to properly describe), which really put me off. The chicken was also too dry for the garlic sauce to save. Taste was OK at best. Probably won't be coming back for their plates, but maybe I'll try a wrap in the future.

Before heading to Osmow's, I heard so many amazing reviews about this place. When I say "so many", I mean like everyday, I'd see a snap story of someone having Osmow's or raving about it. Me being the foodie I am, I just couldn't wait to try it for myself! Long story short, I was left feeling a little disappointed. I ordered the chicken on the rocks in medium and the portions were humongous! The dish itself is really nothing special. It's literally plain rice, some chicken and "special sauce". The sauce tastes pretty creamy, and reminds me of the white greek sauce. You can also customize the spice level! I got mild but it was still pretty spicy for me. Overall, the portions are really big! You could share a medium with a friend. The meal itself is nothing special and I would really prefer greek food over this. Also, my friend and I felt a little sick afterwards.

Decided to try osmows' as it was nearby and one of the many locations. The flavours were quite good. I got the osmows' mixed grill. It comes with shawarma (chicken and beef), lamb kofta, and chicken kebab for $18.99. It also comes with 1 choice of salad. I decided fattoush salad. Wait was 20 mins for the meal. Restaurant was quite large. Not busy for late lunch time dine ins. Lots of take out orders though. Meats unfortunately was slightly dry but had good flavours and spice. Rice was good and moist. Garlic and hot sauce were good additions to the meats. Overall, Their whole menu is kinda pricey. But all places with similar style foods cost the same.

The portions are too small compared to the other locations. They also don't put enough spice.

The carpaccio was fine, pleasant but fairly straightforward, but everything else we ordered was excellent The octopus was tender, and hearty, paired nicely with potatoes, hummus, some greens, and capers. It was well-balanced and satisfying without feeling heavy. The steak came out a perfect medium-rare and juicy. The nut topping on the fish added a really nice crunch, contrasting beautifully with the soft, tender flesh of the fish. And then there was the duck: the clear standout of the night. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The fat kept it incredibly juicy without feeling greasy. The charred cabbage on the side added a subtle smokiness that tied everything together perfectly. Every bite honestly made me happier and happier. Getting to the restaurant was a little confusing at first, but once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. A really enjoyable meal overall, and especially memorable for that duck dish. Definitely a place I'd return to.

I've always known this Greek restaurant was in the plaza but never dined in until now - wow I have been missing out! Upon arrival, the space is quite dated but I still had high hopes for the food which did not disappoint. Servers were all older gentlemen that seemed intimidating but were very friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered was so delicious: Kalamarakia Fried 5/5 - Seasoned and lightly fried calamari served with Tzatziki sauce. It wasn't too crispy but had the perfect chew/ bite to it. Great for sharing. Cold Pekelia 5/5 - This was served with 4 different dips and 2 light bites including Tzatziki, taramosalata, octopus, melitzanosalata, olives and hummus. Absolutely delicious and a range of different flavours to try. Served with pita on the side. Chicken Souvlaki Dinner 5/5 - Tender chunks of chicken breast, marinated and broiled to perfection. All their dinners come with a Greek salad and garlic bread. Portions are plenty per person. Chicken was tender, juicy and bursting with flavours. Gyro Dinner 5/5 - Blend of lamb and beef, lightly spiced and broiled. Served with rice, roast potatoes, veggies and Tzatziki. So delicious I wanted to lick the plate clean. Overall all the food was so good and flavourful. Drinks were okay, I got a caesar that could have used a bit more "ump" to it. I can't wait to come back again as I loved dining here!

I placed an order through Uber Eats and got two regular habibi bowls, which were BOGO. I got them without any pita chips on top. I went with the original, which was chicken, tzatziki, fried onions, spicy garlic sauce, and parsley, all on rice. I chose mild hot for the bowls. I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I was at Malvern Town Centre, so it took no time to drive over here. I got here at around 3:30 pm. There was plenty of parking. I backed into a spot and headed inside the eatery. I was greeted by a friendly woman. I was the only customer. I let her know that I had an Uber Eats order under my name. She nodded and fetched a paper bag with my name on it. I thanked her. We wished each other a great day. I then headed to my car, secured the goods, and drove home. This Tahini's was the second one that I have ever visited. The one in Richmond Hill has steady business. It was a nice change that this location wasn't as crazy at this hour. For dinner, I had one of the bowls. I had the other one the following day. It was my first time having a habibi bowl. It was yummy! The chicken was delicious. It was tender and flavourful with everything in the bowl. The base was fluffy yellow rice. I should order this bowl again. The toppings were fresh. So good! The second bowl heated up fine the following day. It tasted equally as yummy. I've had the baklava at the other location. I should have some here next time. I loved my food and my experience here. I'll be back when I'm in the area again. (335)

We got the garlic sauce and hummus - both came in nice large dollops. Purple cabbage gave a nice crunch as did the pita chips they sprinkled in. Turnips and pickles have a nice salty flavor. Tomatoes are thinly sliced but few in quantity I felt. The pineapples were canned pineapples but decent amount. Overall a pretty filling dish - would recommend the larger size for dinner. Good price for what you get!

The take-out counter was open, so we opted for that instead. Most of the foods on display were ready-to-go and vegetarian / vegan. You can also order manakeesh (Lebanese flatbread topped with toppings such as cheese, spinach, and za'atar - akin to thin-crust pizza) to be made on site. We opted for the vegetarian mix-and-match plates, which came with either rice or salad, 5 small sides, and 3 falafels. Most of the items were pretty good, my favourites being the arnabeet (cauliflower), eggplant with chickpeas and tomato-based sauce, bamya (okra), and white cannellini beans salad. The warak enab (also called dolma or stuffed grape vine leaves) was flavourless and had too much ratio-to-grape vine leaves ratio (more rice inside that I'd like). The tabbouleh was way too salty. The other dishes were good though. Although the manakeesh was made fresh to order, it came out pretty fast. It was also extremely salty. There were a few small tables by the take-out counter, for those who wish to eat the take-out items on the spot. They packaged all the items very well to avoid leakage.

The interior of the restaurant was spacious and comfortable. We received a warm welcome by the amiably attentive staff from the moment we entered. We placed our order immediately - falafels, hummus, labneh, moutabbal, and arnabeet - and didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. We were given two freshly baked steaming hot homemade pitas which came straight from their stone oven. The food here is very good. The falafels were deliciously made with ground chickpeas, super seasoned with fresh herbs. They were scrumptiously salty, fried to a crispy golden brown, topped with sesame seeds and served with a tahini dip. Next was the fried cauliflower which was tossed in a tahini-garlic sauce and drizzled with copious amounts of sour lemon. The sour lemony taste of the arnabeet served as a counterpoint to the salty flavour of the crunchy falafels. Served with fresh baked pita bread came the delightful hummus, labneh, moutabbal dips. The moutabbal was exceptionally tasty made with fire roasted eggplant, blended with tahini-garlic topped with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and jewelled with a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds. The hummus was an excellently smooth blend of chickpeas and creamy tahini. A solid choice. The labneh pressed yogurt mixed with garlic, drizzled with olive oil and topped with zaatar seasoning of thyme and sesame seeds. Their dessert section appealed to me, particularly the Lebanese Kinafe boat made from shredded vermicelli filled with cheese baked and drizzled with sweet rose blossom syrup, served in a freshly baked sesame pie. I am already planning what to try out for my next visit - the Paramount Special Drink of mango/strawberry juice and chopped tropical fresh fruits with strawberry, kiwi, pineapple, topped with almonds, pistachios, ashta cream and honey. Amazing restaurant for delicious middle eastern food, clean comfortable dining atmosphere and excellent service. Thankful that they are open late until 10 PM on weekdays and until 11 PM on weekends.

A couple of Saturdays ago, I needed to grab some takeout for dinner. I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found Tahini's. It's a few doors down from a No Frills, in a plaza that has a McDonald's, Dollarama, Kaiyo Sushi, and more. I got the following items: - Regular habibi bowl (BOGO) - Beef samosas (2) I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes for my food to be ready. I drove over to this eatery and backed into a parking spot. I waited a bit before I headed inside the eatery to pick my food up. I headed to the counter on the left. A woman said hi. When I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order, she abruptly interrupted me and said that I needed to be on the right. I didn't feel any warmth from her. I felt like I was scolded by her for not knowing. It was my first time at this eatery. The only door in and out of this eatery is directly in front of this woman. Naturally, folks would head over to you, especially a newbie like me. You order on the left. You pick up your food on the right. Got it. I made my way over to the right. I had a friendly woman there who let me know that she was waiting for my beef samosas. Cool. It was enough time for me to take photos. The unpleasant woman seemed happier talking to a male colleague in front of the protein spits. I took a photo. She looked my way. She seemed to default to her sour disposition again. I had the inclination to delete the photo capturing her unpleasant expression, and take another photo once she went into the kitchen. It's one star off my rating. She clearly didn't like me. The feeling was mutual. The beef samosas were done. Yay! The other woman packed up everything and handed me my paper bag full of food. I thanked her and wished her a good evening. She reciprocated. I then headed to my car and drove home. I had the beef samosas first. OMG! They were delicious. The wrapper was crispy and not greasy. The beef filling was generous and yummy. I should have got six. Yum! I had one of the regular bowls that evening and the other the following day. I specified light hot sauce. It was perfect. The chicken shawarma was tender and yummy. I liked the toum. It had the perfect amount of garlic. The parsley provided a pop of colour. It didn't taste like anything. The rice was fluffy and delicious. This bowl was excellent. I had the other bowl for dinner the following day. It heated up nicely and was equally as yummy. I loved everything that I had consumed. I'll be back for a shawarma wrap and more. I'm hoping that the sourpuss woman isn't there upon my return. (451)
