Came here for National Sharwarma Day for the $5 deal at 4:30. Line was outside the door but I managed to get in and placed my order at 4:45pm. They didn't give a receipt and said they'll call my name when it's ready. At around 5:15pm, I saw people who ordered before and after me got their orders and they were also going out of order so I inquired how much longer it was going to take. They're busy I get it but at least be nice to your customers. I asked multiple times and each time the lady at the front yelling "not ready" and brushing me off. 5:30pm and I'm getting annoyed - it's been 45 mins already and everyone who ordered after me got their food. What does the girl working there say? "It's going to be a long wait prob another 20-30 mins" like ????? So I finally flagged down another guy and explained the whole situation and thank goodness he understood so he finally checked with the girl who took my order and turns out there was a "system glitch" and they didn't place my order. I don't like causing a scene but it was super frustrating that girl wasn't even listening and kept brushing me off. Food wasn't as good as it used to be, meat was dry, rice was hard and there was barely any sauce even though I asked for garlic and tahini . Honestly 2 star for the food and 1 star for service. ***this specific location I order from other locations now and have never had any issues. This location has a lot of issues that could be improved upon. Low meat somehow? When i order chicken on the rocks from this location i get a light amount of meat and sauce. They seem to be lazy at this location and not really care how your food looks. Lights off? One time i drove to pickup my meal from this location and they had all the lights off? The sign was off, the inside lights were mostly off. Almost as if they wanted to deter you from coming in and making them do their job. Delivery time is fast here Delivery time is fast and efficient as it is in a prime location. This specific Location review Pros: App ordering is efficient, email and text to confirm order and pick times. Deals of day are decent priced. Cons: Not fresh- Saturday 6pm dinner should be the most fresh with high rotation of traffic. The chicken was dry and almost dehydrated. It wasn't just the lack of moisture of the chicken meat due to over cooking but the outside strands being under a heat lamp too long. Packing- side salad got squished into the box beside hot chicken and rice, with no divide. This was separate at other locations. Surprise ingredients! I can understand and maybe forgive finding a rogue bone due to the nature of pulling meat(which I got), but also got a shred of cardboard. At first I thought it was a bit from beef/lamb mixed in. After careful examination it was clearly dark brown cardboard soaked into the chicken mix. I question what box this came from since the takeout is thin light brown and not the same thick paper composition. One piece of chicken bone was also dangerously sharp and size of a thumb nail. Had I fed this to my young kids it could have punctured something internally. I called and emailed the store to let them know and have not received any response in over a week. I usually order from the Castlemore location on hwy 48, as do our friends and no one has had a bad experience there. They also package the salads separately which I took fro granted. This hopefully is a one off situation but I am too applaud to try this location again. ***Also a warning to parents to check the meats before giving to kids! A few friends mentioned that this chain is known for its Mediterranean fast food style dishes, so I gave it a shot. To me, it's the Swiss Chalet of Mediterranean: okay, but it leans heavily on drenching in sauces... so if you like sauces, you'll enjoy this tons! WHAT WE GOT: Chicken on stix (Fries) Medium Beef plate (with rice and salad) $24.60 tax in WHAT WE LIKED: The beef was actually pretty good. I'm not sure how to describe it given that there was so much sauce - but the chicken was in the same sauce and it still felt a little bland somehow? Maybe Doner King and Los Chicos has just spoiled me with their chicken. But yeah the beef comes out on top. WHAT WE DIDN'T As mentioned, chicken is alright. The takeout process was a little tedious because the volume on their phone was a bit low and wonky. When I ordered the beef plate special of the day, the guy checked if I wanted to upgrade to a combo but I couldn't hear what the difference was and declined. Got takeout so no washrooms. I've been to many Osmow's around the city and I have to say this one was kind of disappointing. We took the items to go and had them at home, and when we ate the Shawarma we noticed that the meat was cold. sadly we were too far away to come back but it was not a very pleasant meal to eat. read more

I drove by one day going to Markville Mall and saw that Osmows was opening up closer to my house. Decided to come here for lunch to try out their food. I got the daily special which was the kofta platter (mondays). Took 10 minutes to make as it wasn't one of the regular things people order. Mostly people were getting wraps and falafel. Overall the kofta had good flavour. Moist. Rice was too kernel-ly and tasted like uncle Ben's. Salad was good. But too much lemon juice as dressing. It was sauced enough and mildy spicy. I was a afraid looking at pictures from the other location that at times they douse your food with the white and red sauce. Which basically ruins the food. Not to mention packs on extra calories. I ordered a few wraps... one - they did not label my wraps so how the hell am I to know what wrap is what jeez and second - slow service I think to make a few wraps it was too slow, could be faster since I was the only order at that time. the worst osmows location i have ever been too & i have osmows atleast once a week. i called to convey my sentiments in regards to their portion sizes have gotten smaller and smaller. the manager confirmed that the box size (for the chicken on the rock) has been reduced. even with the reduced box size the portion size do not even fit half the box. i was at another osmows (independently owned & operated) in mississauga last week and was shocked at how the portion sizes were 2 times more to what this location provides and charges the same. when i conveyed this information to the manager at hwy 7/mccowan markham location, she yelled and screamed profanities at me in english & in her native language punjabi (which i understand a bit) and told me to come back to the store and get a refund. when i arrived there, she locked the doors & would not open the door. never ever again will i spend money at this location. the worst ever!!!!!!! read more

The worst slop I ever had. Do not eat here. I have had shawarma for over 20 years and this place is disgusting. There version of a shawarma platter is half fried French fries mixed with the meat covered in disgusting sauce that even my dog wouldn't eat it. Unlike normal places that serve a presentable combo meal these people mush it all in like some type of poutine but without the cheese. They call French fries stix and they don't even know how to make them. I think they microwave the french fries then hide it in this Swill of sauce with the meat. By the way for $22 don't expect a lot of meat. They hardly give u any meat and personally it tastes like horse meat which is why I think they mush it with sauces to hide the taste.
