    Delicious bread and fresh salads
    Shigei H.

Ithaca is an island in Greece, and it is also worldwide famous as the home of Odysseus, Ithaca symbolises the return to the haven, the discovery and the fulfillment. Ithaca serves typical Greek food. It was only 1/3 full on a Friday night. Inner decors are with wall paintings for sea and cityscapes, but overall is bit dated. All male servers looked aged over 60, they were all efficiently doing their works but all looked quite stern and straight forward. The menus are with set lunch, dinner & ala carte. We ordered the signature lamb and seafood combo set dinners. The lamb was nicely stewed & juicy, it was tender and fell off the bone instantly. The seafood combo dinner was actually just fried fish fillet with deep fried shrimps coated in bread crumb. Including a Greek beer, we paid over $80 plus tips and tax, it's considered pricey corresponding to service and food quality.

    Lamb souvlaki

Absolutely loved the salad. My mom thought it was a little sour from the dressing but I liked it. I liked the lamb souvlaki, it was meaty and tasted great! Seasoning was suitable. The rice was not sour, so that was great. Pork was kind of pinkish in some parts, and the salad had some old leaves as seen by the stains. Only the manager was working the ENTIRE floor on this Monday lunch hour. Manageable, but it was hard work. He was running everywhere. There was 1 big party and like 5 small parties. Because he was so busy, he didn't have the time to check in with us or else we would've spoken up about the salad and pork. Regardless, we just left those parts in the plate. The decor was amazing. It truly felt like we were in Greece. This is my mom's second time having Greek food. She loved it!

Excellent traditional Greek menu offerings. We enjoyed lunch out with quality food & attentive service. Lots of comfortable seating & traditional decor. Super clean washrooms. Great place for a group given the menu variety.

A Mediterranean restaurant that will instantly transport you to the warm European seas when you enter the establishment. It is decorated with Greek décor, something you'd expect to see while in Greece. The waiters are fast paced and the environment is lively, great for small and large family gatherings! Bread - This is how I like my bread, thin crispy exterior and fluffy interior. It's rolled in sesame seeds to give it a beautiful aroma. I think the bread is similar to a challah (egg bread). The best part of all is this it comes free of charge! Grilled octopus - One of the more expensive appetizer options is the grilled octopus. The octopus will grilled and seasoned to perfection with a bit of salt, pepper and olive oil. The octopus had the gentle but chewy texture of a carefully cooked octopus. The portion was about 1-2 tentacles, abit pricey but it was delicious! Mixed Souvlaki Plate - This was an absolute giant of a meal, it comes with the plate and a salad. The salad is a traditional Greek salad: lettuce, cucumbers, red onions, a tomato, feta and an olive. The combination was a bit too salty for me and the tomato was the most refreshing part. The mixed plate had a bit of chicken, pork and lamb. Served alongside some rice and boiled vegetables. The chicken was my favourite, juicy, flavourful chicken. The entrees are quite a lot of food, so it would be possible to order a plate for two people. The environment was fun and bread was good. Would definitely come again if I have a Greek craving!

Ithaca Greek and Mediterranean restaurant have been around for years near the corner of McCowan and hwy 7. I have passed by for years, even glanced at their menu posted outside their restaurant in years past (since my mechanic is near by), but never ventured in. Today, marks the day where I finally took the plunge. The interior is a bit dated, but I like the Hellenistic ambiance. They even had the fireplace going. I was greeted by a gentleman who has a very matter of fact mannerism with a radio voice (who I assume is the owner). Don't laugh at me, but I went with a very generic order - chicken souvlaki on a pita. I'd say they delivered on a solid chicken souvlaki. The chicken chunks had the right combination and amount of spices; flavourful but not overly salty, which allows one to taste the flavour of the meat. The chicken was cooked well (not over cooked) with decent amounts of burnt. The pita was nice and chewy with a slight crisp exterior upon arrival. I would however suggest them to go easier on the tzatziki sauce. There was almost enough to turn part of the fries on my plate into some sort of fries supreme at Taco Bell. The sauce could surely be more garlicky as well. I didn't mind the fries, they were pretty good. They served medium cut fries with a thin batter, which were nice and crunchy on the outside, but you still get the fluffy potato inside and you can taste the potato. I actually found their ketchup interesting though. It came in a Heinz bottle (I do know of restaurants that just keep on refilling the bottle, but not with Heinz), but it honestly tasted like a concoction of ketchup and Maggi sauce. I didn't mind it either. The server did his job by checking on me once during the meal and was quick to clean off the table after I was done. Maybe a bit too quick where I didn't even get a chance to wipe my mouth with the napkin. I'd say it's an okay experience. Ithaca is a cut or two above the likes of Mr. Greek and Jimmy the Greek. 3.2/5 is where I would peg them at. Perhaps more personable service would be enough to vault them to a number that deserves some rounding up. It's not a bad option, but it was not a memorable experience.

Classic greek restaurant with all the options. Service was very good and the food was great. The Mix souvlaki was excellent Salads were fresh Baklava was generous and yummy Musaka was great I enjoyed the meal and experience. This place is a bit of a time warp with classic decor from the early 2000's style greek restaurants Recommend for more of a family owned greek stop in Markham over some of the franchise food options.

Trio of dips - loved them all, and the warm bread was perfect!

Tried this restaurant for the first time last weekend and I'm sure it won't be the last. I made my reservation online and received an email confirmation within a few minutes. Off to a great start. About ten minutes later, I received a phone call from the restaurant asking if I had intended on reserving at that location (my phone number has a BC area code still). I confirmed and thanked him for checking - I found that to be very considerate to call. We arrived a few minutes before our reserved time, and were surprised to see that the restaurant was basically empty. They seemed to be very busy with takeout and delivery orders, though, so that is a good thing. We ordered a few different items to share, including the trio of dips, grilled octopus, Greek salad, roast lamb and seafood pasta. Everything was so delicious. The grilled octopus was so tender and grilled to perfection. I hadn't had Greek food in a very long time, so I was very happy that everything tasted so good. I wasn't able to finish my entrée, so I took the rest home. I think it was one of the best roast lamb dinners I've ever had. Simply prepared, with light, fluffy roasted potatoes and steamed vegetables but so, so good. The baklava was also amazing. Perfectly flaky, and not too sweet. I have to give kudos to our server, who made the whole dining experience that much better. I always say, when you have great service, the whole meal seems to taste better. Can't wait to go back again.

I've ordered and gone to this restaurant countless times! It's a great Greek place in the area my 2 year old boys love it - it's one of their favourite places to go. Every time we go service is great, very accommodating and welcoming. The food is very flavourful and the meat is always juicy and cooked perfectly! We took the sausage, grilled octopus, the gyro dinner plate and the chicken. Everything was delicious, the grilled octopus and sausage were a big hit. Definitely coming back here!

    Greek Salad

I have been here multiple times and everything is phenomenal! The chicken souvlaki is the most moist and tender i've ever had and never comes out dry. The rice and potatoes are also always cooked perfectly and there unlimited bread baskets. The feta on the salad is fresh and the service is also good (it is more of a traditional feel). The ambience of the restaurant makes me feel like i'm in Greece and I will always return to this restaurant! Prices are also very reasonable.

Enjoys some really nice weather on the patio with great food. Our meals also came with a salad and garlic bread. Just from how well those were, you could tell it was wasn't going disappoint. Everything came in a timely manner and tastes as delicious as you'd expect. No more, no less. I thought the potatoes were a standout. Nicely seasoned with a fluffy soft texture. Would have liked more of a grilled exterior thought. The breaded shrimp was also very nice. Good balance of breading and well cooked shrimp. My only complaint is that the price was a little high for the portion size. Ive been to other restaurants that have a similar menu but they usually more rice and meat. If I was any hungrier, I probably wouldn't feel full after this meal.

Delicious Greek food. Portions sizes were really big. Restaurant was clean. Service was amazing and food tasted good too.

Location: Markham Rd & Highway 7, East of Markham Rd in the plaza Decor: Beautiful, even the roof is painted like a sky. Food: I really liked the food here. I got the pre-fix meal $35 and it fed two people perfectly. I had the trio Hummus and a greek salad to start. The hummus was good, the greek salad was okay not that good. The Saganaki is perfect (It's not part of the pre-fix but i love how they light it up and say Opa!). For the main course we got the seafood pasta, the sauce is nice and thick! really tasty. As for dessert it says we can choose from the dessert display. We chose the chocolate cake which didn't taste good at all. Was really dry like its been a couple of days. I would still say overall the meal is really good to feed two people and still have leftovers. Service/Cost: Cost is amazing $35 for two people! The service was a bit slow in seating us down even though there was only two tables. Also when the saganaki came out he sounded really drained like he's done it so many times just a monotone 'opa'. was pretty funny actually, we didn't mind. Everything else was perfect. Food came out quickly and the server was really nice and friendly. Will definitely return

My fiance is a huge fan of Greek food so we decided to give ITHACA a try. We ordered takeout as we're still in lockdown. We got the lamb souvlaki dinner and gyros dinner. Portions were great and everything tasted super fresh. Items were well packed as well. We will definitely order food from Ithaca more often :)

The carpaccio was fine, pleasant but fairly straightforward, but everything else we ordered was excellent The octopus was tender, and hearty, paired nicely with potatoes, hummus, some greens, and capers. It was well-balanced and satisfying without feeling heavy. The steak came out a perfect medium-rare and juicy. The nut topping on the fish added a really nice crunch, contrasting beautifully with the soft, tender flesh of the fish. And then there was the duck: the clear standout of the night. It was beautifully cooked and seasoned. The fat kept it incredibly juicy without feeling greasy. The charred cabbage on the side added a subtle smokiness that tied everything together perfectly. Every bite honestly made me happier and happier. Getting to the restaurant was a little confusing at first, but once you're there, it's absolutely worth it. A really enjoyable meal overall, and especially memorable for that duck dish. Definitely a place I'd return to.

Every dish lacked flavor, and the steak was by far the worst--tough, chewy, and oddly bitter. Definitely not what you'd expect for a restaurant at this price point. What was even more frustrating was the overall experience. We made a reservation for Canada Day and even received a confirmation email beforehand, yet no one informed us that the upstairs air conditioning was broken. It was a heat warning day in Toronto, and we ended up having dinner in an extremely hot dining room. The service made things even worse. During our 1.5-hour meal, the server proactively refilled water only once--and only for my husband. The rest of the time we had to repeatedly ask for water ourselves. On a day with a heat warning, that level of service was honestly unacceptable. Since there was no air conditioning, the windows were left open, and flies were constantly flying around while we were eating. We spent around $400 for four dishes, expecting a special Canada Day dinner, but left feeling disappointed in every aspect. Between the average food, poor service, broken AC, and uncomfortable dining environment, this experience was nowhere near worth the price. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

I placed an order through Uber Eats and got two regular habibi bowls, which were BOGO. I got them without any pita chips on top. I went with the original, which was chicken, tzatziki, fried onions, spicy garlic sauce, and parsley, all on rice. I chose mild hot for the bowls. I got an estimated time to pick up my order. I was at Malvern Town Centre, so it took no time to drive over here. I got here at around 3:30 pm. There was plenty of parking. I backed into a spot and headed inside the eatery. I was greeted by a friendly woman. I was the only customer. I let her know that I had an Uber Eats order under my name. She nodded and fetched a paper bag with my name on it. I thanked her. We wished each other a great day. I then headed to my car, secured the goods, and drove home. This Tahini's was the second one that I have ever visited. The one in Richmond Hill has steady business. It was a nice change that this location wasn't as crazy at this hour. For dinner, I had one of the bowls. I had the other one the following day. It was my first time having a habibi bowl. It was yummy! The chicken was delicious. It was tender and flavourful with everything in the bowl. The base was fluffy yellow rice. I should order this bowl again. The toppings were fresh. So good! The second bowl heated up fine the following day. It tasted equally as yummy. I've had the baklava at the other location. I should have some here next time. I loved my food and my experience here. I'll be back when I'm in the area again. (335)

Tomatoes are thinly sliced but few in quantity I felt. The pineapples were canned pineapples but decent amount. Overall a pretty filling dish - would recommend the larger size for dinner. You can also order manakeesh (Lebanese flatbread topped with toppings such as cheese, spinach, and za'atar - akin to thin-crust pizza) to be made on site. We opted for the vegetarian mix-and-match plates, which came with either rice or salad, 5 small sides, and 3 falafels. Most of the items were pretty good, my favourites being the arnabeet (cauliflower), eggplant with chickpeas and tomato-based sauce, bamya (okra), and white cannellini beans salad. The warak enab (also called dolma or stuffed grape vine leaves) was flavourless and had too much ratio-to-grape vine leaves ratio (more rice inside that I'd like). The tabbouleh was way too salty. The other dishes were good though. Although the manakeesh was made fresh to order, it came out pretty fast. It was also extremely salty. There were a few small tables by the take-out counter, for those who wish to eat the take-out items on the spot. They packaged all the items very well to avoid leakage.

My first experience wasn't the best. The business made things better when I went back a second time, but it does take a bad first experience to deter me from being a return customer. I have been driving along Markham Road (highway 48) weekly. I flagged getting takeout for dinner here a couple of Wednesdays ago. After getting groceries in Whitchurch-Stouffville, I ordered food from this Osmow's through my Uber Eats app. I got mixed proteins (chicken and beef shawarma) on fattoush salad, with garlic sauce and tahini. I tend to like anything on salad in general, but I crave salad a lot these days. My order was estimated to be ready in 25 minutes. I knew that I would arrive early with my lead foot, so I stopped by Chatime nearby to pick up some bubble tea. Osmow's is steps away from Firehouse Subs. I backed into a spot in front of Osmow's main entrance and walked in. It is strictly takeout from this eatery. All tables and chairs are stacked away in a small corner of the store. I had a nice man help me. I showed him my Uber Eats order number at the counter. He fetched my order that was in a plastic bag. I thanked him and headed out the door. When I got home, I put away my groceries and then had dinner. I like that the container keeping my food safe was compostable. I also got cutlery and napkins in my plastic bag. My mix proteins on salad was yummy. I loved the morsels of tender chicken and beef shawarma. The garlic sauce and tahini were full of flavour. I went with no spice. At Osmow's, it can get super spicy if you go hot. The fattoush salad was fresh. The iceberg lettuce was crispy even with the sauces and proteins on top. I enjoyed the ripe tomatoes, onions, green peppers, and cucumbers in this salad. I did ask that the crispy pita croutons be held. They were. Yay! I devoured my meal. It was so good. My tummy and I were happy. I have found an Osmow's location in Markham that I like. I look forward to trying more food items off the menu. I am eyeing the lamb salad next. (205)

We placed our order immediately - falafels, hummus, labneh, moutabbal, and arnabeet - and didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive. We were given two freshly baked steaming hot homemade pitas which came straight from their stone oven. The food here is very good. The falafels were deliciously made with ground chickpeas, super seasoned with fresh herbs. They were scrumptiously salty, fried to a crispy golden brown, topped with sesame seeds and served with a tahini dip. Next was the fried cauliflower which was tossed in a tahini-garlic sauce and drizzled with copious amounts of sour lemon. The sour lemony taste of the arnabeet served as a counterpoint to the salty flavour of the crunchy falafels. Served with fresh baked pita bread came the delightful hummus, labneh, moutabbal dips. The moutabbal was exceptionally tasty made with fire roasted eggplant, blended with tahini-garlic topped with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and jewelled with a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds. The hummus was an excellently smooth blend of chickpeas and creamy tahini. A solid choice. The labneh pressed yogurt mixed with garlic, drizzled with olive oil and topped with zaatar seasoning of thyme and sesame seeds. Their dessert section appealed to me, particularly the Lebanese Kinafe boat made from shredded vermicelli filled with cheese baked and drizzled with sweet rose blossom syrup, served in a freshly baked sesame pie. I am already planning what to try out for my next visit - the Paramount Special Drink of mango/strawberry juice and chopped tropical fresh fruits with strawberry, kiwi, pineapple, topped with almonds, pistachios, ashta cream and honey. Amazing restaurant for delicious middle eastern food, clean comfortable dining atmosphere and excellent service. Thankful that they are open late until 10 PM on weekdays and until 11 PM on weekends.

We had called prior to ask if they took reservations and they said not unless it was for a very big group. I was familiar with the franchise and knew what I wanted to order. We got a chicken shawarma wrap, a mixed combo entree and a beef hummus. The beef hummus was as I expected. Good amount of meat and super flavorful. Really enjoyed it with the pita. The chicken wrap was a little disappointing - it was a bit dry and a bit smaller than expected. The mixed combo grill tasted great - with kafta, beef and chicken. It did feel a little overpriced at nearly $30 but it was tasty. The service was so so. It was very comfortable seating as it wasn't busy. We were checked on maybe once and it was hard to flag someone down to get a refill of water (which didn't happen). Overall was a decent experience and would come back.

A couple of Saturdays ago, I needed to grab some takeout for dinner. I did a search on my Uber Eats app and found Tahini's. It's a few doors down from a No Frills, in a plaza that has a McDonald's, Dollarama, Kaiyo Sushi, and more. I got the following items: - Regular habibi bowl (BOGO) - Beef samosas (2) I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes for my food to be ready. I drove over to this eatery and backed into a parking spot. I waited a bit before I headed inside the eatery to pick my food up. I headed to the counter on the left. A woman said hi. When I indicated that I had an Uber Eats order, she abruptly interrupted me and said that I needed to be on the right. I didn't feel any warmth from her. I felt like I was scolded by her for not knowing. It was my first time at this eatery. The only door in and out of this eatery is directly in front of this woman. Naturally, folks would head over to you, especially a newbie like me. You order on the left. You pick up your food on the right. Got it. I made my way over to the right. I had a friendly woman there who let me know that she was waiting for my beef samosas. Cool. It was enough time for me to take photos. The unpleasant woman seemed happier talking to a male colleague in front of the protein spits. I took a photo. She looked my way. She seemed to default to her sour disposition again. I had the inclination to delete the photo capturing her unpleasant expression, and take another photo once she went into the kitchen. It's one star off my rating. She clearly didn't like me. The feeling was mutual. The beef samosas were done. Yay! The other woman packed up everything and handed me my paper bag full of food. I thanked her and wished her a good evening. She reciprocated. I then headed to my car and drove home. I had the beef samosas first. OMG! They were delicious. The wrapper was crispy and not greasy. The beef filling was generous and yummy. I should have got six. Yum! I had one of the regular bowls that evening and the other the following day. I specified light hot sauce. It was perfect. The chicken shawarma was tender and yummy. I liked the toum. It had the perfect amount of garlic. The parsley provided a pop of colour. It didn't taste like anything. The rice was fluffy and delicious. This bowl was excellent. I had the other bowl for dinner the following day. It heated up nicely and was equally as yummy. I loved everything that I had consumed. I'll be back for a shawarma wrap and more. I'm hoping that the sourpuss woman isn't there upon my return. (451)
