We came for lunch at 12:30pm on a weekday. I've been a fan of chicken shwarma wraps for years, and…read moreI'm happy to say this place did not disappoint! I like to have a nice amount of the pink pickled beets (I think that's what they are?) for sourness, which plays well with the roasted dark flavor of the meat and garlic in the hummus. The bread was just a touch thin and kind of fell apart, but that was fine as the paper held the wrap together. If I were to be picky, I would add more onion and perhaps offer a side of garlic sauce. Totally yummy and I'd order it again! Service - there was one woman taking the orders and serving the food. You pay at the counter, and she brings the food to you on non-disposable plates. There is non-disposable silverware wrapped in napkins at the table. Once she drops off the food and pitcher of water (with paper cups), you are on your own. There's no checking to see if you need anything, but I suppose you could always walk up to the counter to ask for something. We were the only people in the restaurant the entire time. Ambience - Some Middle Eastern art on the walls, just okay. Kid friendly for high chairs, but we didn't have a chance/need to visit the restrooms. Parking is ample, as it shares parking with the mini-mall and grocery store. About the bakery - If you're coming for the bakery, don't bother. The bakery is around back and is dark, stuffy, and tiny (the size of a large walk-in closet). It didn't appear to have many ready-made items, and seemed more like a convenience store for Middle Eastern food, with some bulk items. I wonder if perhaps they do more catering orders, but I didn't see menus on the counter. The bakery had several cookie-like and small flaky items, which is nice, but I had no idea what I was eating. The sales clerk didn't know what the items were either, so CAUTION if you have food allergies. At $3.99 a pound, it wasn't horrible, but I didn't find pastries that I'd order again.

However, the chicken is overcooked and burnt, as you can see in the picture. Although the server is nice, there is no service at all that they even called me to grab my plate after the food is cooked.

This Middle Eastern spot on Roncesvalles Ave is definitely worth checking out. The service was…read moreexcellent, and our server made sure to explain the dishes and specials, which was a nice touch. We tried the variety Darna sampler (dip platter), baba ganoushj, vegetarian fukhara and za'atar chicken and the food quality was top-notch. That said, a few of the dishes could've used a bit more salt, as it felt like the flavors didn't quite pop as much as they could have. The menu has a great variety, so I'm definitely planning to come back and try more next time.

Lots of different people helped us out, took our order, brought food etc. but it felt like the service while good, was just slightly below great. We got the veggie clay pot and the mixed grill to share between two people, and my son got a fattoush salad and the kebbeh. The mixed grill was great, all the meats were flavourful, and tender/juicy. It came with a lamb/beef kebab, some beef tenderloin, and some chicken. I think there were roast potatoes too, but my memory is a bit fuzzy on that part. The veggie stew was poured onto a plate of bulgur and was really really good. Lots of flavour, all the veggies (carrots, cauliflower, onions, etc.) were tender. the juices ran through the bulgur which made for a great side dish to go with the meat. The kebbeh was tasty but still a bit disappointing -- there were only three, and didn't feel like quite enough to make a meal. Luckily the fattoush salad was huge otherwise my son would have left the restaurant hungry. Compared to some of the dishes we saw on other tables, this dish seems to be an outlier in terms of quantity of food, and it's certainly not worth the $28 price; I wouldn't recommend it. Despite the disappointment with the one meal, all the food was delicious and I still felt like the meal on the whole was good value, and I wouldn't mind going back to try some of their other dishes.

Had the Melitzanosalata with pita and Avgolemono (which they separated into two bowls for us to share - the staff was very accommodating to all requests). All the apps were very flavourful. The drinks they made were good. For the main, had the chicken Kleftiko which was crispy and light pastry. I thoroughly enjoyed our visit. It was a wonderful Greek restaurant and very authentic (as per my Greek partner). There is a green P parking less than 1/2 a block away so it's easy to get to as well. Fun night on the Danforth :)

Their restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing and love how they have a beautiful setup for their patio seating that's perfect for a private dining event. We went in early on a Sunday early afternoon and was seated immediately. Because we had a large party, we ordered the calamari to start and the meat and seafood platter with a side of rice, salad and Greek fries. The bread they served was very fresh and delicious and the calamari was very good. It was a very good mix of food and perfect for a party of 8. The restaurant filled up quite quickly and many ordered the cheese that was set up in flames (what an experience?!) and the souvlaki meal. This is a restaurant that I wish to return to, especially for a girls day/night out since there's mmmany great spots for photo ops. The servers were very friendly and attentive too!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 4/5 Food: We had our office holiday dinner here and 15 people attended. We did a set menu which had 3 courses. The first course was Labneh with bread, hummus, & beef tartare. Second course was Lamb pide & pear salad. Third course was grilled branzino, middle eastern fried chicken, black truffle rice, and thrice cooked fries. Then there was dessert which was chocolate mousse cake & baklava. Because of my many food allergies the main server for our table was very attentive & specific in asking me what I wanted as modifications. For example I got a wagyu beef pide instead of the lamb. Every dish was really delicious, presented well & quite filling. I couldn't eat all of the food. Though I tried almost everything. Service: The pacing of the dishes was quite masterful. They really paid attention to when the food was going to come out. As I mentioned above the main server was very attentive to my food allergies. I really appreciated that as some restaurants aren't as attentive. The food was served family style so everyone could take what they wanted from the serving dishes. The dishes were served in little bowls along the tables with each bowl serving about 4 people. We had asked for one long table so it was a little snug. But we made it work. Ambiance: For dinner the lighting of the space is really dim. LOL. I would have appreciated just a little bit more light. The restaurant is in an old building so to use the washroom you had to go down two flights of stairs. The dining area is small also. But it's a pretty space. As mentioned above we asked for one long table to seat 15 people. I was expecting square tables but it was a bunch of small round tables pushed together. So the tables were really crowded with food from all the dishes. But the servers made sure to take empty serving dishes away as soon as possible. The music was a little loud for me so I had to yell to be heard. The place was packed though. Everyone at our table enjoyed the food, the service & atmosphere. The restaurant is close to Roy Thompson Hall & the other theatres nearby so it's a convenient location as well. It's too bad this place is only open for dinner. I would have loved to see how they would operate a lunch time service. In any case, Byblos was amazing. I would come back here again to try other dishes! Note: Some of my pics of the main dishes didn't turn out so it's mostly desserts that are pictures

The staff are very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was packed with customers enjoying their food and drinks. They have a full bar offering great options for cocktails, liquor, wine and beer. There are lamb, beef, chicken, wings, some sort of beef 'pastry' (forgot the name). The best is the lamb, least is beef (nth special, I guess). All is tender, but some are juicier than others (NOT dry, but better if it's juicier). The mashed eggplant that comes with it is great to pair with any of the meat. Ordered sutlac for dessert (light and not too sweet). Highly recommended!
