Stopped by Oscar's Cafe on a Thursday around 11:30am and there were a few other people dining. I found it odd that they wouldn't serve lunch to my son and I, but oh well. We ordered off the breakfast menu. He got the pork verde breakfast burrito and I ordered the Belgian waffles with scrambled eggs and sausage. The pork verde was pretty good. Meat was a little dry, but in combination with the sauce and other ingredients, it wasn't too bad. The potatoes were nice and hot, and we both enjoyed the cheese bed underneath. The plate was super scorching hot though, and I'm glad we were told that so my son didn't burn himself. The waffles were great - crispy, yet fluffy. Sausages were way too salty. Eggs were alright - also fluffy. I did feel like we were really rushed though. Service was pretty scarce to begin with, but presenting me with the check 5min after bringing out the food, when my son had barely had a bite and I was still working on my food seemed a bit pushy. It's not like there was a line and they needed the table. So I took my time, but it kinda ruined the vibe as they were clearly waiting for me to pay, but I wasn't going to rush my son. This is the perfect spot to visit after hiking in Zion! I really enjoyed my murder burger, which had a balanced garlic sauce that wasn't overpowering. Cute restaurant known for their fantastic burgers! We enjoyed sitting in the outside seating with the mist sprayers, which kept us cool and refreshed. The pictures don't do it justice, but the burgers are huge!!! My avocado chip burger came with a generous amount of avocado and the corn chips added a great crunch to each bite. My friends got the bleu burger and the Maui burger and they all really enjoyed theirs too. Both the regular fries and sweet potato fries were delicious - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Our host was super friendly and awesome. They were super nice and friendly to my kiddos. The restaurant is cute and has a gift shop attached. The portions are HUGE which is perfect for after hiking. By far the best restaurant in the Springdale/Zion area. We went here breakfast, lunch, and dinner, for two days straight. Their omelettes and skillets were so good and massive. Do not go there if you are a person of color! The awesome 4.7 stars review got us interested in exploring this place after hiking about 6 hours inside zion national park. The receptionist told us to wait for a table "for three". We kept waiting, four other groups came by and got seats. We had to stand 15 minutes outside in the scorching heat waiting to be seated. Why? Because we were the only people of color there. The food was good. However, the waiter kinda threw the plates on our table. We were so tired to deal with them, but still kept smiling the whole time. There were both indoor and outdoor seating available. Not that you will get to seat comfortably anywhere if you look "different". I wish I had more energy to confront their awful behavior. This place was surprisingly good. I got the murder burger and it was amazing. The fries that came with the burger was were crispy and good. My friend got the shrimp tacos (so good, decently spicy) with a side salad. The side salad seemed so basic but it was actually really good! The woman (young, brunette, skinny, pale) who delivered the food to our table was so nice, funny, and energetic. I think her name was Abby or Ally?? Loud and friendly place. I sat near the kitchen and the Mexican gentlemen cooking in there were blasting ranchera. I ordered the portobello and avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was unexpectedly tasty and quite generous. In fact it looks like all portions are big, so if you ordered a salad and a main dish, you probably won't be able to finish. Maybe I came on an off day. Employees here did not seem happy to be there. They just seemed to be going through the motions. On arrival, the hostess didn't even assist us to our table. She walked ahead leaving us behind. She put the menus on the table and we had to guess which table was ours because she was already gone. Our server didn't have much more personality. After a long hike at the Narrows, Oscar's truly satisfied our hunger cravings. Wait wasn't too bad; while food does take a while bc it's busy, service is amazing and the vibes are incredible, with a gorgeous view of Zion! Pork chili verde burrito and tamales are SO DELICIOUS - wow, the portions are huge but we demolished it. Comes with a side salad, beans and rice. Came here for dinner after a long day in Zion. We were seated immediately which was super great and the staff were very friendly. Food came out fast and the portion sizes were large. We tried the volcano brownie for dessert but I think the ratio of ice cream to brownie was a bit too much. Overall, great place to stop by for dinner. We stopped by Oscar's Cafe for lunch after a long hike. It was a holiday weekend in January, and many restaurants in Springdale were closed due to the off-season. Oscar's was open, so we walked right in. [Ambiance] Casual, and fairly busy. The shades were pulled down to block out the sun. There are no windows to enclose the room, which allowed birds to fly in and out of the space. [Food quality] I ordered the fish taco plate, and it was a good-sized portion. The beans and rice were bland, but the tacos were decent. They offered some hot sauce on the side which helped to add more flavor. [Service] excellent! I wasn't totally sure about this place since the menu says Mexican, but you know what totally surprised me? The potato fries--seriously, probably the best I've had in a long time! We received a voucher for this restaurant that came with our hotel room rental. We were seated right away by a friendly host and were waited on immediately. I love that they had heaters above almost every table (it was cold to us people from Hawaii ). My younger daughter and I ordered the Belgian waffle combo which includes--two Belgian waffles, scrambled eggs, fresh berries and your choice of protein (we got bacon). My hubby ordered the farmer's omelette (it has bacon, onions, potatoes and cheese in it) and my oldest daughter got the pork verde burrito. Every dish was delicious!!! The manager of this popular spot on the main road in Springdale, Holly, says that it's the staff that makes this place. I would certainly agree. The servers, buss staff, and host were all friendly, accommodating and efficient on a mid-October summer evening for a party of four. We waited around 20 minutes to be seated when we arrived at 6:45 pm (Oscars doesn't take reservations). The food at Oscars is plentiful, colorful, and to be truthful, extremely ordinary. There are six beers available on tap, all of which are of medium quality. Roughly the same in the wine department. None of these is expensive. One of us had the salmon, which was maple-glazed, and a large portion. The stuffed chili poblano was tasty. Another of us had the pork "chops" in a green chili sauce. These were tasteless and overcooked, but more importantly they were way too thin to be called chops. The last two guests had the rack of ribs, which came with a mountain of onion rings and French fries. All were average, at best. We didn't try the apps, nor the desserts. It was a bit chilly at an outdoor table, but we were able to activate the overhead heater, and were quite comfortable. The ambiance is busy, but not overly loud. So if you keep your expectations in the real zone, you are likely to be delivered a reliable if uninspired meal. At least the staff's smiles are special. And that helps a lot in a tourist destination like this. read more

Mexican spot that does not have margaritas! Had to opt for sangria (only non beer option), which was not great. Served in water glass, it tasted watery rather than fruity, strange wine and fruit did not look good. Guacamole was good, turned a little brown so I stayed positive concluding it's real and fresh. Service was fine, although felt rushed due to waitress keep trying to take away mostly full plate of food. Food came out fairly fast and tasted good. The worst and biggest concern were flies. Multiple flies everywhere, they were all over everything in patio sitting area and we spent most of our time waiving hands over our table to prevent them landing on the food & drinks and utensils. Had to give up nachos because flies landed on it. Waitress offered us a to go box and showed 0 reaction after we declined it due to it being contaminated with flies. Came here on our friend's recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Very close to the Springdale exit of Zion, it can get pretty busy, and we were there in April (which isn't quite peak season). Despite our group size (five adults and four kids 9 and under), we only waited about 30 minutes. Our server was super friendly and provided some good recommendations. We ordered the chips and salsa, which seems pretty basic, but those chips were very good. They were crispy but not oily/greasy, and weren't thin, so they were good for dipping. For entrees, I ordered the Maui burger, which was really good. A warning for those who don't like pickles (thankfully my wife does), you get a pickle spear on the side and sliced pickles on the sandwich itself. Regardless, it was still a bomb burger. My wife ordered the pork burrito, and it was pretty tasty. It's a decent size and my wife recommends sharing unless you're really hungry . The other item ordered was the Murder Burger.
