Tofu Veggie Bento box with vegetable tempura, avocado roll, and green salad.

The time I went around 5:00 it wasn't too busy yet. It wasn't dinner rush yet and there were a few tables with individuals enjoying their meals. I ordered the Tofu Teriyaki Box. The box includes tofu teriyaki with rice, vegetable tempura, avocado roll, green salad, and fruit. Honestly, everything tasted good. The only issue I had was the temperature of the miso soup when I received it, it was cold. The restaurant was open and clean. The servers were nice and accommodating with my allergies. Would recommend to try!

I had a volunteering event and our member ordered from Osaka Sushi. We had it delivered to us through a third party company. We got a sushi platter and assorted tempura. We noticed that they didn't give us tempura sauce. The sushi platter was ok. Not wow. It tasted the way it should. I really liked the presentation of the sushi. Tempura was nice and crispy. You can tell they fried it not too long ago and best of all, it was not soggy at all. Everything was freshly made.

My bento box with salmon teriyaki came with miso soup and California rolls. It was a generous amount of food for a reasonable price. Hubby enjoyed his tofu teriyaki.

I'm a fan of sushi and enjoy trying various places in Vancouver. Glad I tried Osaka Sushi. It's local and offers fresh sushi at a decent price. Also, the menu is quite extensive, so the food caters to a variety of tastes. It's not just sushi; they also have karaage, noodles, bento boxes, fried squid, etc. Its always nice to have options. I ordered through Skip the Dishes and the service was quite fast. I had a few pieces of nigiri - negitoro, aburi salmon and sockeye salmon. Delicious. I also had the Ichiban sushi roll, which is tuna, avocado and spicy tuna. I was happy with all the food. I recommend this spot if you like Japanese style food and want to support a local business.

Very solid food quality, a good option for a quick lunch. They are situated in the same plaza as the Safeway, which parking is tricky at the best of time. I always opt for street parking and walk back. I ordered their dynamite combo, which was a bit pricier than other sushi joints, but at the same time you get more food for your money. You get two pieces each of salmon, tuna and chopped scallop. It would be better if their combos came with miso soup. Overall good sushi place, would go back again.

Oaska sushi is located on King Ed & Oak Street, they are very busy during dinner time. When we walked in, I knew I made another mistake. Coz I saw the sticker of "order it" and "just eat" service. It means they do a lot of take out sushi and probably not in good quality/fresh of ingredients! My hubby and me spent time to check out the menu item and found most of prices for rolls very cheap. Also, we saw the other table dishes portion pretty generous. We really had doubt to order any sashimi or raw fish sushi. I ordered few nigiri, none of it was fresh! The saba tasted bad and scallop smelled fishy too! The roll had too much salad dressing and tasted pretty warm. I definitely not going back for warm sushi or not fresh raw fish.

Sushi and sashimi combo A, spicy tuna roll, tamago roll and alaska roll.

Sashimi was decently fresh. The toro was the star of the sushi and sashimi combo. But the spicy tuna roll stole the show. They incorporated some tempura bits that added some crunch to the roll.

Great sushi! Will come back when I come back to Vancouver! I had the Fried Salmon Roll. Perfecto! My son's spicy tuna was even better!

We need ordered California rolls and tempura for takeout. Everything was made quickly and well. A fine choice for takeout sushi.

I appreciated this and would much prefer this over expecting to have a table than being disappointed. We got lucky though and were able to get seated right around 9. Service was very prompt and we were able to order, eat, and get out of the restaurant pretty quickly. Overall great experience even though I didn't absolutely love everything we ordered House roll: 3/5 this was ok. It sounded good initially but I think there was just too much going on Spicy chopped scallop roll: 4/5 presentation wasn't the best but it still tasted good Red dynamite roll: 5/5 their most popular roll for good reason. I would def recommend this one Salmon and tuna nigiri: 5/5 I liked both a lot and this perfectly scratched the itch for my sushi craving

I counted maybe 36 seats. The interior is nice but generic enough to be just about any type of restaurant. The menu accessed via QR code. I ended up trying the following: - Assorted Tempura: Good. Light batter, but slightly overbrowned. - Miso Black Cod: Good. More elaborate presentation than most, but very small piece. - Salmon Belly Sashimi: Very good. Fresh and delicious. - Tom Special Roll Tray: Very good. A great way to sample all the different roll, all which are very good. I thought it was reasonably priced and could adequately feed 4 people. Service was very good. There are a LOT of staff, so we were constantly being checked on to make sure we were happy and got anything we needed. Overall a good meal. It doesn't classify as the best sushi in Vancouver, but I can see the quality-value ratio might be the best in the city. All the food was quite good and certainly not overpriced. I imagine the high staff count was due to the overwhelming amount of takeout orders. I would return.

My hubs and I vacationed in Vancouver a few weeks ago in late April. We had seen the long lines for dinner at Saku when we were here more than a year ago. So, we decided to give them a try for a late lunch around 2pm on a Wednesday afternoon. No wait. We got seated right away. We liked how spacious and airy the dining room was. Our wait staff were friendly and on point. They were considerate about answering our questions about the food and food allergies. I ordered the chicken thigh katsu ($26 Can) and my hubs got the chicken thigh curry ($28.50 Can). No dairy involved in either dish which I was happy about because I have challenges digesting milk protein. Yes, it's kinda pricey. Yes, it's totally worth it. The katsu is light, crispy, fried perfectly, not greasy, and comes with unlimited rice, miso soup, finely chopped cabbage salad, and an addictively delicious sesame dressing. My hubs' curry sauce was served on the side so he could pour out as much or as little as he wanted. All in all, it was a very pleasant and satisfying meal. Saku is top notch for katsu. You won't believe how good katsu can be until you try it.

Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

This is a more theatrical style so expect louder music and a more theatrical experience (eg one of the servers played the flute for the guests celebrating birthdays). I prefer a more intimidate and interactive style of omakase where you can talk with the chefs. This lunch also felt a little fast in terms of progression of the meal. Some of the dishes were very tasty while others didn't wow us. With drinks, we were quite full despite some reviews saying portion is on the smaller size. Our total was around $500 with drinks for 2 people. A really good experience for omakase, especially if you are looking for a unique experience though not my favourite one I've tried.
