I URGE YOU TO STEER CLEAR!!!! Orlando Septic Services replaced our septic system at our 1987 Lake Mary home 5 years ago. We needed a whole new system which included a drain field. We've never owned a home with a septic system before so our knowledge was lacking. We spent 6K+ to have our system replaced, unbeknownst to us they used our existing 1987 fiberglass tank. We were never offered a replacement. The equipment was already at our home, our yard already dug up, we would've replaced it. One week after installation the pump alarm was sounding, we were told the motor was bad and we'd need to pay for a new one. Absolutely not! Five years later we start developing a large depression in our front yard, something isn't right. I place a call to this company and they aren't available for a week. I called Acme Septic out and they informed me that our fiberglass tank is absolutely crushed and needs replacing. I have no faith in these companies at this point so I talk to my neighbors and get two other companies to inspect. The verdict; the new system was installed with utilizing the old tank from 1987!!! The owner of Orlando Septic explained to me that he was trying to "save us money" by using the existing tank 5 years ago when replacing the system. He inspects the issue and sends us a quote for $8K+!!! Little did he know I already had 3 quotes from other companies my neighbors recommended. Their quotes were $3-4K less!! I used Orlando Septic Service 3 years ago and they did a complete pro job. Last month I'd called them again and the job was frustrating. They did the job less than 10 minutes when I was an important calling. After they left I opened the tank and saw almost 1/2 of the tank with liquid sewage. I complained and they told me to finish I had to pay more $200. My house is 1200sqf and I've already paid $350. It was insane. read more

We have 2 septics and have used this company 3x and each time has been a great experience. They call in advance, refer to you by name, are very professional, and they don't make a mess of the area (yes, in the past a company left a mess on our driveway and in our yard - yuk). You can pay with cash or cc (no checks) and they are fast. I was shown the level of my tank before and after and they even got out a marker one of our kiddos had flushed (never let your kids watch Flushed Away!). Avoid for inspections! Joe (owner) does an extremely basic inspection and misses important system aspects. For example, he said he took soil samples and our dainfield is 44" below the water table. In reality, the drainfield is UNDER the water table and Joe did not catch it. Cost to repair.... Over $11,000. I had multiple contractors complete similar inspections and Joe is the only one to not catch this. This company can pump, that's about it. read more

In the fall of 2020 we called Orlando Septic to pump our septic tank. They came promptly and did a good job and also warned us that we were going to need a new system within months (ours was 60 years old). We called again in the spring 2021 when we had issues again to discuss putting in a new system and they were great to work with. Joe set us up with the lady who does the drawing for the county permit. They got us an estimate after the drawing was done, were quick to schedule with us but also flexible when we needed to push back the installation, and were really friendly with us and our children. I was selling my home in Apopka and the Buyers arranged for this company to inspect and pump both tanks on my property in October 2022. I identified the specific location of one tank - no issues getting this done. The second tank is marked on our survey. After "searching" at and around the survey site, both techs claimed that they could not find it and then probed all around the property. They said firmly that they could not find it. With sale of the property in question at this point, I researched all alternatives to find the tank, including the expensive and damaging process of pulling a toilet and searching with a remote camera. Finally, after two days, I asked a Zellwood septic company (which had been very helpful with suggestions over the phone) to send a tech to conduct another physical search. The tech looked at the survey and found the tank in about 5 minutes, a few feet from the survey location. The top of the concrete tank, measuring about 40 square feet, was between 1-1/2 and 2 feet below the grass surface. The Buyers contacted their company, which pumped the tank that they could not find. How hard can it be to poke a pole into the ground and find something this big? Setting this basic incompetence aside, OSS has not responded in any way to my letter or email requesting payment for the Zellwood septic company service. There are many septic companies available in the north Orlando area. You can be the judge about whether you want this company to handle your system based upon this true experience. read more

Didn't pump out the tank entirely. When I called after 11 days because the issue happened they said they would come out and charge me for re-pumping the tank which they had not emptied in the first place. Then told me I would need to flush the drain field for non refundable fee of only $650 and no guarantee that would work either. Called another company that knew what they were doing and when they came out they said the tank had not been emptied. When the person from Orlando Septic was here he was unprofessional and kept telling me how horrible the company he worked for was. Never am I calling them again. read more

So, in true National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation style, it seemed our shitter, was in fact full ON CHRISTMAS DAY - while we were hosting Christmas dinner. I called our regular company multiple times before calling Joe, the owner of Orlando Septic, who actually answered his phone on Christmas Day. I apologized for bothering him on Christmas Day, he reminded me that as the owner of the business it was never a bother (how refreshing!). He asked me what we were experiencing and I told him. He said I could come out right now but I have two trucks and they are both full. Until I can dump them in the morning I don't have room for another pump. He said that he filled up fast because he had rescued other poor souls like ours in a holiday pinch and because he does not charge people a "holiday charge" he was the choice for many the last 24 hours. So we decided to conserve water usage and asked to be the first stop the next morning. He said his driver would call on their way (he DID and was super polite - how refreshing!) and they showed up just after 9am this morning. The driver surveys the situation and quickly deduced that we. in fact, don't need a pump (our last was done in 3/2019 - so I was so curious why it was full again so fast) that our filter was clogged. He could have charged us for a pump and we would have been none the wiser, and he could have sold us a new filter but he insisted that the one we had was good and reusable so it only needed to be cleaned. SO, in summary, we are thankful for Orlando Septic and their refreshingly amazing, honest, customer service. I will recommend to anyone! read more

The owner picked up to my surprise and told me they would be out the next day. He said he started the business to be prompt and provide services to help people save money. Elton helped us out, pumped our tank, and was super friendly in doing so, even told us things to look for down the line with our system. Quote of $4450 total for a new drain field. Over $7,000 later. Told two weeks after the initial quote and the job was a one day deal. Six weeks later and cancellations finally the job starts and I'm not home. My son calls to tell me he thinks plans have changed. I relay to him to tell the owner to immediately call me before they do anything. He relays the message but I receive no call. Foreman admitted later he told Joe (owner) to call. They proceed to install a lift station without my permission at an additional $700. Joe's excuse - they had no choice due to water levels in my area, the permit came back saying they had to, it's the county. The county inspector comes out to inspect the drain field before it's covered and we have a little chat. I'm told the permit does not say we HAVE to have a lift station but that it states IF NEEDED. He clearly didn't want to get involved. I'm told I need to hire an electrician to put in a power source for the lift station as the job is almost complete, not by Orlando Septic but by my neighbor. Foreman confirms. MORE MONEY! Joe's guys just ran an extension cord across the house to a plug on the other side. My husband raised hell with Joe because this is yet something else that should have been discussed. After much back and forth he agreed to take care of the electrical end. I'm not home when he gets started so my neighbor proceeds to question him and tell him how dangerous pulling off of the a/c for power to the lift station is so he's annoyed and temporarily stops the job and waits for us to get home. When we arrive he's just about done and goes on and on about how he's done this thousands of times, it's perfectly safe, it's his job. We agree to let him finish the job. A week goes by and our NEW A/C compressor overheats and shuts down. We had to pay for our A/C guy to come out and fix our A/C. Our neighbor was right. The wires from the pump plugged into the outlet were so hot when we went to unplug them we jumped back. The A/C guy tells us not to plug the pump back in to that outlet so we proceed to run it back across the front of the house with an extension cord like they had it before Joe installed the outlet. I called an electrician/firefighter who informed us with what Joe did it wasn't a matter of IF our house would have caught fire but WHEN had our A/C not clued us in. When my husband confronted Joe on this he of course pushed the blame off again. He tried to say what he did was only temporary. Joe installed an outlet, cover, piping, buried it under the ground. This was not temporary. We hired an electrician at another $1000 to give the pump it's own dedicated power source. All of this time the pump has been running without the alarm to let us know if it failed due to the situation. Once we had the electrical work done and were able to plug it all in the alarm was steadily going off and the pump kept tripping the breaker. The pump was fried. We called Joe who tried to push it off on the Electrician. He told us that it had to be working fine before then because otherwise the water would be into our house in an hour. I said "Funny Joe because you told us if it stopped working when you installed it we would have a good 24 hours, now it's an hour" Joe refused to come out or do anything to make this right. When we opened the tank we found the water was to the rim. We replaced the pump. MORE MONEY! When the new pump emptied into the drainfield it was so full it overflowed all over my sidewalk, driveway, and street. This pump had not been working for some time. Now everytime the pump empties the water into the drainfield it comes out the top of the ground where the drainfield is. I have never dealt with someone so unprofessional and BEG people to not use this company. We are now having to contact a lawyer and pay another company to come out and assess the entire system. We have no idea what the future costs will be at this point. Very mixed experience. Called and collected information for our needs, followed up 2 hours later and gave them the exact dimensions need for replacement lid and was confirmed verbally over the phone that it could be delivered along with a scheduled pumping service. Did receive a follow up call an further information from one of the staff as well. When they arrived (on time) two days later they did not have the proper lid (as was discussed) and tried to make what they have work- which would not be a viable solution to our problem (cracked lid and the people onsite recommended piecing together others as a solution vs the whole slab that was discussed and confirmed). Followed up with Office Manager and was told we would have to get a custom lid from 3rd party- followed up with the 3rd party that was recommended and they said they can produce the lid, but could not delivered. Followed back up with Orlando Septic Service Office Manager to see if they could pick up and deliver as a courtesy for their internal error, was told it was something they can usually do but could likely not due to staff; but that she would follow up with the Owner. 3 hours later and with no call back (later found I was on the 'To Call' list) I was able to connect with the Office Manager and she verified that the Owner said this is not something they can do. I asked if there was anything that could possibly be done, and gave the example of a potential discount on the pump for their internal error, I was denied. The service we received was incorrect, and not reflective of what was discussed and confirmed twice on the phone, with two separate OSS team members. That said, the staff was nice and easy and to talk to and was transparent on what they CAN'T do. Would recommend on a normally needed pump, would not if you have a pressing need with important variables. I understand this may not be the most customer service centric industry, just would liked to have seen accountability for their error; especially now that we expected everything to be done today and now have to start over, with another company from scratch. read more

Waited all day and the guy didn't show up until just before 6 pm. An hour and a half late and it was getting dark out. Only to tell me that because my road is a mix of dirt and asphalt he was scared he'd get stuck and wouldn't perform the work. Then had the nerve to assume that I didn't know how to drive big trucks when I informed him he shouldn't have a problem because many large power trucks have come in an out fine. He continued to attempt to patronize me so I asked him why he was still there talking if he wasn't going to work anyway? BTW I was raised by a trucker. Brother is still a trucker. And I've worked on and driven many tractors larger than that. Do not assume that just because I don't look the part (aka a female) I'm clueless. The worker was just LAZY LAZY LAZY!! I would never recommend this place. Those trucks are designed for rural areas that don't have access to city sewer. Edit: Called Glenn Tatum Septic this morning and they were here within 2 hrs with enough man power (not just one guy) to get the job done. No issues getting to the house either. Please do not hire this company. Joe Bicknell is a crook. Read the review written by my wife Carey Schreier. She did not have room to finish on her review so I'm adding more details here. My wife and Joe specifically discussed a 500 square ft infiltrator and Joe went on and on about how other companies will put in a 300 and charge for a 500 and lie to the homeowner. We have 8 people in our home and Joe went over the water bill with my wife and she opted to go larger than minimum code as 300 can't effeciently handle what we put out. We now have the health department and inspectors involved and have found we PAID for a 500 sq. ft. but Joe installed a 300 sq. ft. system and lied to us. If you have done business with this company I would highly suggest researching what was done. If you have a dosing tank you best make sure it's not plugged into a typical outlet on the outside of your house or tapped off of something incorrectly for the safety of your home and family. Dosing tanks need dedicated sources to safely opperate. Check permits and match with what you paid for. We are still overflowing daily at this point and seeking legal recourse.
