After that other contract was over I found a pest control company the right way- I did an internet search and found a few candidates and read some reviews, and concluded that Aspen looked like the best prospect. Since then they've done a pest control service visit four times a year and I have had very little problem with any pests during that time. It's always hard to know for sure how much it's helping because you don't know how well it would be going if you didn't have the service, but it has been going well and I have always been very pleased with the professional and friendly attitude of the Aspen personnel.

I live in an apartment, Bugaboo is the company that the management has decided to enlist. I'm sure…read morethis may shock some of the people who has favorably reviewed this company but I have to say that I'm not impressed. I will give them the credit that the person they send over is nice. I can't remember his name at all, I'm not good at remembering names. The exterminator even tries to crack some jokes when he's working. I tolerate it because I know he's trying. However, the reason this company gets a 1 out of 5 is because their products "DON'T WORK!" My apartment has been infested with German roaches since mid march (2018) and this company has been sent to my apartment on 5 seperate times as of this posting. Each time the exterminator places some sort of brown goop and they spray around the perimeter of my kitchen the thankfully the infestation has been restricted to that area. The problem is that there should be NO INFESTATION!!! The roaches are coming in from a hole in the wall in the kitchen from the neighboring apartment, the previous residents who were finally evicted (Don't rent to Pacific Islanders) thought it was ok to live with the roaches that they attracted because they left their food and garbage laying about. (The hole is a rental issue and trust me when I'm done with this I'm going to be reviewing the rental agency next). Anyway, the infestation next door is so bad that at night the walls are black! So I was told by the rental agency that they were going to bomb the apartment and really get these roaches dealt with. I was excited, this last Wednesday, September 12 when the exterminator entered the apartment next door. I thought "Finally I can sleep at night with the comfort of knowing that soon this months long infestation would be over" He wasn't even in that apartment less than 5 minutes before he came over. I mentioned how long will it take for there to be results from the bombing? His reply? I don't know who told you I was going to bomb but I didn't. To this I will admit I was severely upset. Instead this guy just placed the same goop and sprayed the same useless spray. To this date I'm still dealing with German roaches, if anything it's now worse. Before I'd only see a small amount each night. Now, it seems that I'm seeing 4 or 5 each time I go into the kitchen. My sleep schedule has become hell because I constantly wake up and patrol the kitchen in hopes that these roaches don't advance any further. The exterminator told me that the spray will kill them if they walk through it. Guess what? I've seen roaches walk through that same area he sprayed and it doesn't affect them! They exit the hole and walk through the spray area like it isn't even there, they bypass the goop that they place. I could do a better job fighting these damn roaches than Bugaboo is doing. I don't know what they are using but it isn't working!!! Nearly 8 months and I'm still dealing with this problem. The exterminator tries to be funny, I'm sorry but I am all out of humor. Try operating through the day on 3 hours sleep. I'm sorry but humor doesn't equal good rating in my eyes. Crap products and no results earns a 1 out of 5 from me. I'm going to go to my apartment manager next time it's time to pay the rent and demand that she hires another company.

As soon as the guy that they sent came over he told me he had just completed his training. this was his first job at attempting to get rid of moles. He brought over poison worms that you can get at Home Depot for $20.00 and put them in three mounds and left. Like hope this works! They didn't work and if I wanted them to come back it was an additional $50.00. I called them a few days later with a complaint and they did not return my call. I called back a month later and they said they don't guarantee their work with moles and they could come out for another $120.00. I later found out from another professional that Bugaboo didn't even place the worms correctly. I realize that moles are difficult to get rid of but I feel Bugaboo was dishonest in how they represented themselves regarding the initial extermination of the mole and sent an inexperienced person to handle it with no recourse. I feel they stole my $150.00 and would definitely not recommend this company to anyone.

I do not recommend Eradicon Pest Services…read more When I purchased my duplex in January, the previous owners had already been using Eradicon for a rat issue for over a year. In June, my tenants suspected rats were back. I contacted Eradicon (their name was on the traps), and the soonest they could send someone was 3 weeks out. The technician, Cameron, found that all the traps were empty of bait, refilled them, plugged one hole, and claimed there was no new rat activity. There was no follow-up, no clear communication about cost, and no mention of future service--even though I asked. Just a few days later, my tenants trapped four baby rats inside their kitchen. I called Eradicon again--another two-week wait. At that point, I contacted EcoCare Pest Control, who came within a few days. Their inspection uncovered multiple dead rats, several unsealed access points, lots of fresh droppings, and a crawl space in serious need of cleaning and repair--all of which Eradicon had overlooked. When I called Eradicon to cancel service, I was transferred to someone named Mitchell. I asked multiple times to end the relationship cleanly, but he continued making excuses and insisted I owed $495 for five services--none of which I agreed to. There was never a cost estimate or service agreement discussed with me. Mitchell also claimed the ongoing rat problem was due to the "high concentration of rats in the area"--a statement that felt like deflection rather than accountability. When I mentioned that I would be leaving a review, he accused me of being "retaliatory." This company was unhelpful, unresponsive, and evasive. I wish I had switched sooner. If you're dealing with a serious pest issue, I highly recommend going elsewhere. (Updated August 2025): Eradicon's reply contains several misrepresentations I need to correct. This property was serviced by Eradicon multiple times before I purchased it in January 2025. This was confirmed not only by the tenants, but also by the previous owners' financial statements and by Mitchell himself when I called. In June, I contacted Eradicon after signs of rats returned. Their first available appointment was three weeks out. The tech, Cameron, said there was no active rat activity, refilled empty traps, plugged one hole, and gave no plan or pricing, despite me asking. Ten days later, EcoCare inspected and found dead rats, fresh droppings, and unsealed access points--all of which Eradicon missed. EcoCare backed this with photo evidence. When I called to cancel, Mitchell claimed I owed $495 for five visits, which I never agreed to and was never quoted. He also blamed the infestation on a "high rat population in the area"--a baseless excuse. This duplex is in a residential St. John's neighborhood. I wasn't confrontational--I simply declined to pay for unapproved services and said I'd leave a review. That's not retaliation--it's transparency. Eradicon charged for repeated visits while doing little to solve the issue. I've since hired a more effective provider. Others can make their own call--but I won't be using Eradicon again.

I go back in my house and in about 2 minutes he is knocking at my door again. He presents me with an invoice of the service he for todays date. I ask him if he had already done this service he said no, and asked did I want the service stopped today. I answer yes I wanted it stopped right now, he immediately went postal and ripped the invoice out of my hand, and stormed down my walkway muttering a cussing me under his breath. I asked him to repeat to my face what he was saying, he would not jumped in his truck and sped off out my driveway.. Is this the way you want someone to behave you are doing business with. Unfortunately in Portland it's often not a matter of "if" you have to deal with pests but "when." In one house, I had rats crawling through a hole in the floor, stealing expensive in-ear headphones, and making their nest in our oven. At another house they'd made swiss cheese holes under the home's slab. After both of those lovely scenarios, I'm not messing around. I hired New Leaf for preventative care after I bought my first house. Especially important as it's located near restaurants and commercial spaces with dumpsters and food waste which is a dream for rodents. New Leaf hasn't tried to price gouge or pressure me like some other pest control companies I interacted with. However their fee isn't cheap. I think they charge me ~$80 per visit though their website says fees start at $98. They recommend monthly treatment at first with the possibility or reducing to quarterly visits if things are looking okay. I haven't found their ant spray to be all that effective, though who knows if things would be worse without it? I appreciate their helps with rodents and wasps. One technician noticed my Backyard Habitat sign and suggested some adaptations to the treatment plan. So if you're looking for eco-friendly or low-chemical approaches, let them know. Scheduling has always been easy, and both the office and technicians are communicative and prompt. Some of the techs do like to chat so I have to excuse myself and let them (and me!) get back to work. They provide a variety of services in the Vancouver and Portland area: pest control for ants, bed bugs, wasps, termites, and rodents, as well as more general home maintenance like crawl space, duct, and sump pump repair. Probably more if you inquire!
