I initially contacted New Leaf because we had a raccoon living under our house (as evidenced by video our motion camera recorded) in the crawlspace. We chose them because of their humane way of dealing with wildlife, which was my main concern. The awesomely-super-cool Cory came out to check on our raccoon and found she was a mom with at least one baby. She had clearly been living under our house for a while, as there were multiple nests and tons of damage. Cory gave me all my options on how he can remove her and her family, while also educating me on the ways of mama raccoons. (I was amazed to learn they are very clean animals making multiple nests as needed to maintain a clean environment for themselves and their babies.) Obviously I wanted the most humane and safe way to get rid of mama and her babies. I shared all the info Cory gave me with my husband that evening and we decided how we'd proceed. However, we didn't need to have Cory remove her, because mama raccoon took it upon herself to leave our house that night, and took her baby with her. (Clearly having Cory and my heads poke down below the entry door shining a flashlight at her in the middle of the afternoon kinda spooked her - she got the hell out and took her kit with her as soon as night fell!) Once mama raccoon and family were gone, we had the awesomely-super-cool-amazing Cory come out to assess the damage - the DAMAGE was almost $3,000! Yikes! But not to fear, our awesomely cool homeowners insurance company took care of all but $450.00 - yay! On Friday, June 16th, 2017 - the day of the repairs: Oh my gaaawd! I can not say enough about these guys! 4 (maybe 5?) guys (including the awesomely cool Cory) showed up at 9:30am and went right to work. They protected every inch of my home where they needed access: entry, hallway, master bedroom, master bathroom, master closet - ALL protected against anything icky they needed to pull out of there. They were all nice, polite and considerate. They did a great job - A GREAT JOB! We now have a completely clean, repaired, non-stinky, lovely smelling crawlspace thanks to the awesomely-super-cool team of Cory, John, Tyler, Cameron. (I think these were their names, but I might be wrong - my apologies if I forgot or misheard names - I tried to remember...) Every single person I spoke to and/or met at New Leaf was the definition of professional, well educated in their field, and overall awesomely-cool. New Leaf Pest Control is an awesome company! We had heard about them when a relative was moving into a home and needed help with pest problems in their attic. I had been wrestling with repeated, long-term respiratory illnesses. We initially thought we only had one mold spot in our crawl space from a prior bathroom leak wetting our insulation. We suspected that mold may have been contributing to my health issues. Feeling quite ill, and after researching several companies, I spotted New Leaf's owner, Jordan, on a web site ad. I was impressed that he provided his number to contact. I had remembered New Leaf from our relatives, but thought we were outside their service area. Desperate to find a trustworthy company and a solution fast, I called Jordan's number. I explained our situation and his compassionate, caring response convinced me that he was a godsend. I cannot say enough good things about New Leaf. Every experience we've had with them has been above and beyond expectation. When their crew came out to remove our 30-year-old manufactured home insulation, and found it was much, much thicker than they normally encounter and the job couldn't be completed that day, their crew went out of their way to finish the job for us on a day that was not their normal work day, just because they cared about our situation. We just had our crawlspace insulation replaced and a new vapor barrier put down after discovering squirrels had gotten in to the crawlspace and we're destroying the insulation and making a rodent mess of everything. I got three quotes Northwest Leaf was the best quote on price and service. It was a three day job. The guy showed up. They were very communicative. Very nice and did excellent work I've gotten under and looked at it myself and I'm very happy with the price and quality of work and communication, etc. I have them doing another job now to repair a drain pipe that's broken in several sections again they quoted me a good price and the work will get done within a week. I've used New Leaf Pest Control a few times over the past 1.5 years and was satisfied with their work until recently. Someone came out to the house at the start of the year and did a much quicker assessment than previous visits. He was unaware of the location of certain bait stations and told me there was little sign of activity and I shouldn't need another visit for another 4-6 months. Shortly after his visit I noted that there were plenty of signs of activity, this continued to get worse over the next few months. I got a reminder to pay my bill and had missed the original invoice by mistake.I responded to the email letting them know I planned to pay but I did have some concerns about the last service I received. To my surprise, she said she would send someone out who is very thorough to check things out. No other details were given and I hadn't yet asked for another visit, so I assumed this was a customer service call. Unfortunately Chris showed up on my porch and was clearly having a bad day. Saying "so what am I here for?" When I started to tell him my concerns, he interrupted me and said "sounds like you're misunderstanding how pest control works." He continued talking down to me, interrupting me, and arguing with just about everything I said. He even man-splained the correlation between mice and field proximity... This man has never been to my house before and was still on my front porch, yet somehow he had all the answers. I even told him calmly, "you're coming across a little condescending right now." And clarified any of his questions/points of argument. He didn't apologize for his tone and actually continued to argue with just about everything I said. Most of the things he said contradicted his earlier statements or what past employees have told me. He then told me that he needs to collect a check for the past service (all while still standing on my porch and not assessing what had been done prior). After that he'd go and check out the yard and that I'd be charged again for anything that's needed. Had I of known that the purpose of this visit was to dismiss all of my concerns without assessment and collect a past payment, I would have just made the payment online and saved my time. I didn't have any confidence that Chris wanted to fix a problem or entertain the possibility that there was room for improvement. So there was no chance I was letting this stranger in my house for another service. I opted to just pay for the past visit and look for a different company. Hopefully I can find a pest company that has employees who treat customers like competent human beings. Unfortunately I have a feeling that if my husband answered the door instead of myself, this would have been an entirely different interaction. read more

First let me say if you're a homeowner and you need a small job done, COME TO YELP. Don't look up phone numbers, don't google, don't ask your friends: just use Yelp. This was at least the fourth time Chez Wooga has used Yelp's quote service for a one-day job that produced an easy win. Now, the review. No, first another prelude. Effing yellow jackets. Little evil [bleep]ards. Now, for realsies. My Good Lady was out in the garden, as is often the case, and she discovered we'd been invaded by useless insectile scavengers the hardest of ways. As we monitored the ballooning of her hand (spoiler alert: she's fine now) plots were hatched to destroy these overly spicy sky raisins. So, as stated above, we went to Yelp. It was a Sunday so of course the responses came back the next day. New Leaf not only responded early, they went straight to offering a time to visit. My initial inquiry was "Come kill these yellowjackets" and no energy was wasted in the response. No platitudes, no puffery, no marketing. "We can come kill those at this time, does that work for you?" As it happened that time did not. The response was equally swift and to the point and we had an appointment. We were given a two hour window with an advance call. The tech called in with a 10 minute warning within that window. He was friendly, knowledgeable and pretty entertaining to watch in his beekeeper suit. Most importantly he killed the eff out of the evil boogers in our back yard. The nest, the queen, the lot. Then after he struggled out of the beekeeper suit (you can imagine those get sealed up pretty intensely) he took a check, warned us to avoid the "treated" area because there would be some angry survivors but we should be fine in a day or two. We did. There were. We are. Our back yard is safe again. Crap, that means I'll need to mow soon. Hmmm. Oh well not New Leaf's fault. read more

These guys are so amazing, I had an infestation of tarantulas in my house. But these werent just any kind of tarantulas these tarantulas were controlled by Carpenter ants. The carpenter ants would ride on the back of the tarantulas directing them where to go. After they would take them to their destination the Carpenter ants would get off of the tarantulas and eat whatever they needed, and then Feed the tarantula whatever was left over. it was a interesting dynamic but these guys were able to come in there with bleach and a match and basically torch the heck out of all those varmints. So if you have any Carpenter tarantula back riding ants dominating your house these guys are the guys to call! Apart from the fact that we had flaming tarantulas running around our yard and house catching a few bushes on fire, I think things went relatively well. They had about 4-5 employees with fire extinguishers on standby putting out any small fires that took off, but eventually after about killing a couple dozen tarantulas they were able to find the queen ant and instead of killing her they actually captured her and plan on donating her to Science. In order to find out what genetic trait allowed her to lead a colony of carpenter ants to be able to dominate and tame a nest of tarantulas. These guys are the best it only cost us $300 but we got a discount because we supplied the bleach but they brought the match since we don't smoke. These guys are worth every penny. read more

We worked with New Leaf during our home buying process when our inspector found lots of water and mold in our crawl space. New Leaf came out and did a last minute quote for us which was reasonable. They couldn't get us on their schedule for about a month, but they put in an emergency sump pump for us to get the water out since it was the thick of rainy season. When it came time to do the work, Jordan's crew was well prepared. Jordan called me every morning to brief me on what would happen with the project, and how his crew would prep the house etc to minimize the mud, which there was a lot of due to the water in the crawl space. Jordan is extremely professional and was a pleasure to work with. We had some plumbers out who did work in the crawl space after Jordan's team had completed the remediations, and they said we had the nicest crawl space they'd ever been in! No more with these folks I have used this company for two years. The first few times, the person who came was pleasant and knowledgeable. Since then, the employees have gone down hill. Today, the guy acted like it was our fault that the ants were entering our house by way of a chair. Furthermore, he eavesdropped on a business call I had to make and commented on it. Nope. I am done. Very unprofessional. I also had to point out that he got bait or chemicals on my flooring. Any company has to have better training than these folks. New leaf was great to work with Dash quick response, very friendly and complete explanation, quick service, and very reasonable price. I appreciated that they did not try to sell me on a full year maintenance plan as some other companies did, since we really just needed a one time treatment for spiders who were nesting around the house. Not only did they treat, but they also did some preventative care to help keep them from coming back too quickly. They understood that because there are a lot of trees around the house, spiders are just a part of life there, and that we just needed a one time treatment to reduce their number for now. Other companies try to upsell us on quarterly visits in full year plans, with the idea that we would never see another spider in the house - this was not what we were looking for! Highly recommend! Jordan (the owner) performed a free crawl space inspection and I was shocked to hear how much rodent feces and a few dead rats were in our crawl space/insulation. His team replaced the insulation and vapor barrier, sealed any and all entry points, did a mold treatment, and even fixed a wooden support post under our stairs that was not physically touching the stairs, rendering it useless. The way he explained the condition of our crawl space, showed us photos of the issues, itemized the estimate so we know exactly what needs to be done and how much that specific treatment would cost was very seamless and professional. Yes, it was expensive as expected and justified, but I have a toddler and my family is growing, so it was worth it to my husband and me. Jordan from New Leaf came by this morning to look at some small holes that I found in our hardwood floors. He talked for a bit and then he did a thorough examination. Jordan concluded that it was unlikely there was an active infestation of beetles and at that the tiny holes had been there for some time. He suggested that we monitor the situation instead of having any fumigation done. He did not charge us for the visit or advice. Everything about this company has been great. Making an appointment was easy and pleasant. Jordan was here on time, professional, pleasant and knowledgable. I could not be happier with the company. This guys also do crawl space work and they will be the first guys I contact when we decide to move ahead with some deferred crawl space work we need done. Their service was never particularly special - we had to have them come out and "try again" when the first work they did didn't work, and it's not like our house was free of invaders after our regular maintenance. My complaint is about their billing practices, and how they treated me when I questioned those practices. They send you an invoice a few days after the service is done, and then expect payment within 7 business days of when the service was completed. Working in accounting, I have never once ran into a company that had 7 day terms. It is very typical for people and companies to pay bills twice a month, which would lead to late payments under terms as ridiculous as these. I received 4 invoices from them over the course of 15 (calendar) days. I questioned them on it, and received a condescending response about how they could move the service dates to when I am paid. THE PROBLEM ISN'T THAT I HAVE THE MONEY, IT'S THAT NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND PAYS THEIR BILLS EVERY SINGLE DAY. Get over yourselves. There are plenty of pest control services out there. read more

Updating this review.... I've decided to change my rating. Was not impressed with the quality or price, but I can agree that the customer service was pretty good and that they "tried". Be super careful if you're a single woman; I think some of their estimators treat you like an idiot to be taken advantage of if you're a single gal homeowner. I was quoted well over 1.3K to lay down some vapor barrier under my TINY house (seriously less than 800 SF), replace a little "breather" screen, and stick a brick under one of the posts under my house. Turns out, they didn't even tape or secure the vapor barrier very well. Initially I'd asked them what I could do to bring the price down, could I buy my own materials? Could we work on this together? And the guy "Eric" got all huffy. . . "well our overhead is blah blah blah" The thing is... the work took less than 3 hours. That's almost $500 per hour. (Cost of materials being negligible here; vapor barrier is something like pennies per square foot. Bricks are about $2 apeice) Worse of all: they missed one of the main things that needed done -- a big chunk of rot that the ASHI inspector had found before I bought the house. After lots of effort, missing meetings at work to call and talk to the owner, phone calls and rescheduling they came out and fixed that mistake. But would I have gotten my money's worth if I hadn't followed up with the concerns? Not even close! read more

Excellent experience, highly recommended. We called them up for an initial consultation. Most other places charge $100 or even several times more for that' New Leaf came out for free. We were at wits' end from some infernal tiny critters biting us at night. Despite zero evidence of bedbugs after epic searching, cleaning, laundry, and research, we were stumped. Cameron was a real pro and very personable. He had a more holistic approach than most, mentioning the importance of mental/emotional self-care amidst infestation crises, which was actually quite appropriate. He checked our toddler's bites and a bunch of key potential hiding spots. Thankfully, bedbugs were ruled out. The starlings nesting in the kitchen vent, or at least the bird mites they carry, became the likely culprit. I would have given five stars, and I would have hired them, if they'd been willing to clean the vent out after removing the birds. They were willing to take out the birds (we opted to wait until they flew the coop) but we'd have to hire another company to clean the vent. Regardless, he gave us the brand of a nontoxic mite killer from a source I never would have thought to check and offered to answer questions via email if we had any. read more

Prices are not that high. Their employees are always nice. It's really hard to find good business. They get rid of the trouble for customers. And do not cost much for the regular routine checkup. They also have natural options to deal with pests. Which other pest control places do not use. read more

I had a pending sale with some very fragile buyers, who were considering walking away from the sale, once we found standing water in the crawlspace. New Leaf was able to send out Jordan, their general manager, who offered us a free evaluation of the issues at hand. Within 24 hours, I had a full color report with pictures of the issues in the crawlspace, and an itemized estimate showing how they would repair each part, and what the cost would be. Being a details freak who takes pride in managing my transactions with a high level of care and diligence, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Not only did he complete the work faster than expected, he was kind enough to wait for 50% of his payment to come out of the sale proceeds. This allowed my clients to afford the repairs on their already-stressed budget from the moving process. I will certainly use Jordan and New Leaf again, as I've used enough other companies in this industry to know when you find gold, to stick with it! read more

New Leaf installed a 'french drain' at our new house today for a very reasonable price after our new home inspection found moisture to be an issue in the basement (fortunately no major flooding, just lots of residual moisture). Rachel from New Leaf was always incredibly responsive and helpful on my (many) questions, and Cameron did a beautiful job. After having to dig a .5 foot deep, ~8' long trench around existing landscaping and an unexpected decades old buried patio, you'd never know any work had even been done. Cameron also provided tips, guidance, and advice on unrelated problems on our 1937 property. Would happily recommend if not call again should I find any new issues :) read more

I love the honesty and transparency- especially because we were able to get someone in even sooner :). Second, Kris was patient and polite. Heard all our concerns, explained the option, took his time to examine the perimeter, and prescribed a pretty cost effective treatment rather than up sell expensive treatments like the other folks we got quoted from. We have our first child, so we had tons of questions about safety and procedures. Best of all, he was able to apply the treatment right away and gave us the option to pay online to avoid touching our credit card :). I also appreciated how careful he was inside the house in what he touched, the fact that he put on brand new gloves, and that he did not put his shoe covers on until he came inside the house.
