Don't trust this company! I scheduled an inspection because I heard skittering early in the morning that I assumed came from the attic of my new house. The man who came over told me we had a terrible infestation of rats and that the attic needed to be cleaned out and re-insulated. He quoted me $10k for the clean up! But there were no rats. They didn't trap one, and the bait wasn't touched. When I finally got the guts to go into the attic myself I saw about an 8 foot square area with old rodent damage. That was it. I had already prepaid for 3 weeks of trapping and baiting, so I waited it out. On the last week they tried to roll my account into an ongoing "maintenance" billing. No thank you! read more

We had great service from Pioneer Pest before they were bought by Purcor. Unfortunately, Purcor is a disaster. When you call them you get an office in Florida. You are on hold for 15 or 20 minutes and then leave a message asking for a callback which you never get. We cancelled our service with them because they were so unresponsive for weeks before they came to resolve birds in a vent. Despite the cancellation, they are still charging our credit card. We have had rats die in our crawl space. Purco came in an removed one. However there is at least one left. A service person came and said he found where one was probably under the tarp and he would report to the company and return to take care of it. We never heard back. Our calls haven't been returned. The dead rat odor oozes up through our gas cooktop and is nauseous. I am really unsatisfied with them. read more

I called on the day of the eclipse and was told 'it messed up their phones' so I wound up in a queue in FL; then I left a message for them to call and nothing; called again a week later and listened to hold music for 25 minutes before hanging up; called today and got transferred twice to 'customer service.' I'm starting to think their business model is get you in, then avoid you like the plague. The 888 number just routes you into a never-ending queue, the online account portal is utterly frustrating, so if you hope for service, call Terminix or someone else. read more

I used Pioneer Pest back in the Spring for rats in my crawl space. The people who came out were very friendly and professional. I used them for the initial rat extermination set up and then two follow up visits for a total of around $650. They mentioned that they were probably coming from under my garage. They caught one rat and killed another, which is great - but I decided to opt out of their continuing service. This past week I smelled another rat that died in my crawl space, so I went down there myself to try and find it. 30 minutes of crawling around there I located where they were nesting and two avenues they were probably coming in from. There was a hole in the dirt between the ground and foundation of my house and a hose going through my crawl space in one of the vents going outside. This is where my frustration comes in. When they were down there, why were there no suggestions for sealing these entrances? Either A) They didn't look very hard, or B) If they seal it would I still need their reoccurring services? Based on basic research you must seal any possible entrances as a vital way to stop rats from nesting down there. In 3 visits did they not find it or do they not offer sealing services? One of the rats they killed they couldn't find, so it smelled the house for a couple of weeks. If they don't seal entrances, why would anyone pay hundreds to thousands of dollars to have a reoccurring decomposing rat smell? read more

They came out 3 times to set traps & monitors and check for activity. Each time I received a courtesy email the day before narrowing the arrival window to 2 hours. After getting stung by yellow jackets, I called Pioneer Pest Mgmt to remove their nest. The lady who answered the phone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She scheduled a technician for the same day. Daniel (the tech) spent a full hour removing a very large nest (size of a beach ball) in our junipers. Problem solved on the same day I called! After discussing the racoon footprints in our crawl space, Daniel mentioned that they could install special screens (that are racoon proof) from the inside our our crawl space to keep all large and small critters out. We had Daniel come back and install the screens. Now, we don't have to worry about critters getting in our crawl space. Overall, We have been highly impressed with the quality of the work completed by Daniel and would definitely recommend Pioneer for any pest problems! read more

I am now on hold trying to get rescheduled for the next follow up. Finally able to get me scheduled with in the time frame I needed. After the first attempt to schedule a quarterly visit I shared this with them and now they just show up, do what needs to be done, hang a notice on my door, and email me a report. Awesome! I chose this company based off of good ratings but received poor services. Basically, a newer technician came to service our home and he didn't use the appropriate setting on his sprayer which ended up getting all over our windows leaving drip and spatter marks. This also didn't provide as good of chemical coverage since the stream setting was used (and all over the windows instead). I also had just spent 4 hours cleaning all of our windows so this was extra frustrating. When I informed them of this issue they offered to come clean the windows with the technician to use it as a "learning experience." I thought this was odd as I would have thought they'd issue a credit off the initial bill due which was $335. But, I gave them that opportunity to make it right since cleaning 40 windows was such a chore. Well, they sent 2 guys out with windex and paper towels and they spent MAYBE 25 minutes tops half-assing SOME of the windows, leaving the worst ones, and leaving smear marks. This was their way of making it right? So disappointing! So I notified them of this and asked them to please make it right and they refused to comp the next service of $139. They said they'd only do 50% off. That doesn't give me reassurance to pay them again for another crappy service. Ridiculous and a shame all around. So here we are $335 spent and I get to clean the windows up after them. read more

Before this company was sold, they were called Pioneer and they were great. Since they were sold, they raised their prices 2 times within a month or two and their service was extremely reduced. When I contacted the company my calls were ignored and although I was promised a call from management, it never happened. I noticed the techs that had been coming to the house were not coming anymore and found they left the company. The other day a tech came by to treat my home and spent all of 3 minutes treating which we can corroborate by our cameras and a family member inside timing the treatment. We found the tech spent most of his time in his truck. When I complained directly to the tech, he was rude and told me he'd done enough. When I called their office to cancel my account, the woman tried to save the account by saying she could have the management call, however, I explained they had promised that before and no one ever called. There are other companies that work for their customers...for the money I was paying and the years I was with this company, they should have done better... read more

Called for an estimate and was given a date and time. Waited an extra hour, but no one showed up. Called Pioneer and was told they had repeatedly tried to call us. We never received a call. When they confirmed the phone number they were calling, it wasn't even remotely close to the number we gave them (including area code). They were pretty insistent that they had the correct number, and suggested they had written down the number we were calling from at the time. Took more time than necessary to convince them they clearly had the wrong number, and we had no idea whose number they had. Given the great reviews, I'm sorely disappointed. I'll continue to slay the ants myself until I find someone dependable. ***UPDATE*** what fantastic customer service! The owner sent an email and the office manager followed up with a phone call (they clearly noted the number we called from the second time). We rescheduled, they showed up as promised and we had the pleasure of working with Jesse. He was polite, knowledgeable and courteous. Thank you Pioneer! Horrible job, they were not up front about any prices, was charged 259 for them to spray three small areas in my home, was also charged tax that I was never told about, they had me sign the paper when it was blank. They did the outside after I left and when I came home there were still spider webs and spiders. We have been experiencing ants for months now, and we have had someone come out 4 times to get this under control and there is still ants. I understand it times take but this is just ridiculous. First they were on our counters and now we are seeing them all over the kitchen and in our cupboards. So I called today to speak with someone about coming out to take care of the ants that we are now seeing in our cupboards and spoke to a woman named Tiffany. This was the WORST customer service experience I've ever had. She was beyond rude on the phone and Originally said no one could come out until the 2nd of October. She put me on hold and "some how" got disconnected, so I called back and spoke to Tiffany once again and was rude yet again. Then she tells me someone is able to come out on Saturday??? So I'm confused why was the soonest Oct 2nd?? After this next service we will be leaving and won't be recommending this place to anyone. A wasp next became established under an azalea bush in our backyard. At first, I thought that I might be able to eradicate this nest with a spray poison from a home center, but I quickly realized that the nest was so well hidden, that I could not access it without removing the bush. (That was OK with me.) But, how could I lop-off now well established bush without stirring up the wasps? That's when I decided to call a pest control service, and based on other Yelp reviews, I selected Pioneer Pest Management of Vancouver WA. I spoke with a young lady on the phone, and was given a quote for their "standard charge" for this type of service. She then indicated that she'd attempt to schedule a visit "as soon as possible." She called back and advised that a technician would arrive at my home between 4 to 6 PM that same afternoon. He arrived quite promptly at 4 PM, and proceeded to apply 3 types of poison to the in-the-ground nest. A gas that "immediately knocks down" wasps in residence, followed by a liquid that would continue to be active for a few hours to kill returning wasps, and finally a powder that would remain active for a longer period. (The treatment is "guaranteed" for 45 days.) Within a couple hours, we observed no further activity at the wasp nest, and after a couple of days, we have still seen no activity. Very effective. Cost was not unreasonable, though a little more than I expected (but I haven't used professional pest management services very often over the years). I'm well satisfied with the service, the professionalism of the staff I interacted with, and the results. Had to come back and remove a star. Just got an emailed invoice, showing that the money collected (credit card) at the time of service did not include the Sales Tax. What is interesting is the the technician and I discussed the sales tax as he was writing up the invoice on his computer terminal. Of course, after verifying the charge made to my credit card account, I paid for the "balance due." This however is worth a negative remark about their service -- and service INCLUDES making proper billing at the time of the sale. Sorry. Minus 1 star. read more
