New Leaf's helped me with pest control through three properties now, as both a tenant and homeowner. Unfortunately in Portland it's often not a matter of "if" you have to deal with pests but "when." In one house, I had rats crawling through a hole in the floor, stealing expensive in-ear headphones, and making their nest in our oven. At another house they'd made swiss cheese holes under the home's slab. After both of those lovely scenarios, I'm not messing around. I hired New Leaf for preventative care after I bought my first house. Especially important as it's located near restaurants and commercial spaces with dumpsters and food waste which is a dream for rodents. New Leaf hasn't tried to price gouge or pressure me like some other pest control companies I interacted with. However their fee isn't cheap. I think they charge me ~$80 per visit though their website says fees start at $98. They recommend monthly treatment at first with the possibility or reducing to quarterly visits if things are looking okay. I haven't found their ant spray to be all that effective, though who knows if things would be worse without it? I appreciate their helps with rodents and wasps. One technician noticed my Backyard Habitat sign and suggested some adaptations to the treatment plan. So if you're looking for eco-friendly or low-chemical approaches, let them know. Scheduling has always been easy, and both the office and technicians are communicative and prompt. Some of the techs do like to chat so I have to excuse myself and let them (and me!) get back to work. They provide a variety of services in the Vancouver and Portland area: pest control for ants, bed bugs, wasps, termites, and rodents, as well as more general home maintenance like crawl space, duct, and sump pump repair. However, the owner, Jordan took the time to explain to me what needed to happen for my job and was patient and answered all of my questions. He gave me a few referrals of folks who rent their equipment. He went above and beyond the phone calls and came to my home to have a look and give me professional advice. New Leaf does so much more than just Pest Control. They also inspect crawl spaces and take care of drainage issues. My husband and I recently purchase a home in Washougal and noticed a few loose tiles in the downstairs bathroom and a small pool of water under the house on the vapor barrier. However, the bottom of our house appeared dry. We were worried it might be a foundation issue or something wrong with the vapor barrier itself. Our relator (Brian Combs at Keller Williams) referred us to Jordan at New Leaf. Said he was his "go to guy for all things crawl space related". Scheduling was a breeze , the receptionist was sweet as pie and very helpful. Jordan came out this morning and I found him to be warm, knowledgeable and kind. He did a thorough inspection and discovered a small plumbing issue an previous inspector had missed. Sadly for us, New Leaf isn't a licensed plumbing company, but Jordan was able to give us enough information to practically do the repair ourselves. Looks like all we need is a new gasket and to re- grout the tiles after the repair. I will absolutely be calling New Leaf in the future and refer them to anyone who has a crawlspace, pest control, or drainage issue. read more
