The guy who seems as far as I can tell to be the only employee, said he wasn't sure he was allowed to discuss that with me and had to have his manager call me. It was a huge red flag because all pest control people who are licensed should know that they are required by law to not only tell you what chemicals they use, but show you the labels of their chemicals as well as their license number before providing a service. I told him there was no way I was going to let him spray in my house.

A quick Google search and Yelp search rendered that Prodigy Pest Solutions was the way forward. Unfortunately for me, this discovery of mine occurred on the evening of July 3rd, so it took me a while to get someone out to take care of it, but Prodigy came as quick as they could. They also said that bald-faced hornets were some of the more aggressive hornets out there, so to be careful around them. Given everything, it was a terrific service. Decent value for what they do. Killed all the hornets. Said they'd sort it out if they didn't. I'd happily use Prodigy again!

If I could put half a star I would…read more Rich, the service technician (and owner's son) arrived on time, and that's about the only thing that went right. He was abrupt with me when I met him at my front door and while he was on his cell phone with his child and said to me, "Wait a minute," then continued his discussion with this child. There was no, "Hello sir, excuse me for a minute while I finish this call, thank you." It was as if I were knocking on his door and interrupting him during an important call. Then, and quite shockingly, then next words out of his mouth when he steps inside my house are "My wife just left me." As if I needed to hear about his personal life at the moment. Trying to be empathetic, I offered my condolences and then he goes on to say, without hesitation, "Oh, it's ok, she was doing all kinds of drugs anyway...." My jaw just about hit the floor. He then proceeded to find something on his cell phone to show me pertaining to his marital issues -- again, as if that's why I asked him over to my house. As he took notice of my annoyance, his demeanor with me changed and he demonstrated a hostile attitude towards me when I was asking him questions about my rodent issue. Finally, when we were in the basement and he identified an access hole where he believed the mouse or mice were entering into the walls of my house, he went towards the hole and within three seconds turned heel and began to walk out stating he would be writing up my invoice. Incredulously I looked at him and then at the access hole and wondered how he could have laid down poison that quickly and thoroughly. And for the grand total of $378 I felt there should have been a greater level of coverage around my house and in the basement. You've been warned....DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

They arrived on time and were very professional and courteous. They even searched around our house and found two more well-hidden holes. The hidden holes looked old so they filled them in but put two traps with vegetable bait in the front. They came by to monitor daily, replaced old food, and, finally the groundhog was caught They left a trap for another few days in case there was another groundhog. From appt to conclusion 9 days. We have been a Modern customer for many 15 plus years on a quarterly schedule. Initially we had a VERY dependable, trusted tech who took care of our property but has since retired.. The last 5 years has been a hit or miss situation, partially our fault because we travel often. Since the beginning of 2024 we were told that to remain on a quarterly schedule, in our absence they would do the outside only, not the inside of our house, plus checking mouse traps( the back yard of our house backs up to a woods charging the same as would be charged for the above description. Now , starts the problem, during our absence the tech did not leave a note, email, or notify us in anyway that he had treated our property, nor did we get a bill. We finally got a bill for 3 application dating back to Feb.2024. After chatting with a Modern 'rep' we ask why we were charged for a full inside, outside, check mouse trap, when only the outside was done. He, the Modern rep passed us onto a manager, he, the manager then stated that only the outsider has to be done because all bugs(etc) live outside. Indicating that if we continued to use Modern, only the outside would be done, after 15 year plus of a full service. Because of our indifference, we will pursue hiring another company, and leaving modern extermination.
