Glen with Orkin Pest Control has been amazing to work with. He is very accommodating with his schedule and always shows up with a smile on his face. He took care of our mouse problem in one visit. I would highly recommend him. read more

I contacted Orkin for pest service based on their A+ BBB rating. I was provided with information on the phone that there would be two initial treatments, then bimonthly afterwards. When the serviceman arrived the next day, I was given a contract to sign. I specifically asked if I would be committing to a year of treatments - which I didn't want to do - and was told that I could cancel. After he left, I read the "fine print" and found out that cancellation could only occur after the first year. When I called the office back to cancel (within the 3 day allowable period), I was told that as long as I gave 30 days notice I would probably be okay! Off to find a new provider and will read the Yelp reviews first. read more

Orkin scheduler said someone would be out today for a quote between 4pm to 6pm, then laughed. I know why now because they didn't show up or call!!! What is wrong with people! Next! read more

i suggest you not use them for removal of a yellow jacket nests. they were expensive and used sprays which were completely ineffective. they wanted to come out again but i chose a bee service and the problem was corrected in 12 hours at less than 1/2 the cost read more

I have called to cancel three times, all of which were unsuccessful as some sort of answering service lady promises a call back from somebody in the morning. Then I get voice mails from a woman who wants to send someone out to inspect, without regard for my request to cancel. All the while I continue to get billed. MEANWHILE I STILL HAVE PESTS IN MY HOME. Orkin has sent technician after technician. They switched me to a monthly service. No matter what they done, (or lack thereof rather) I STILL HAVE EARWIGS, ANTS AND SPIDERS IN MY HOME AND BEES OUTSIDE. Orkin sucks. I have long since replaced you with a successful and less expensive company. Money back guarantee? My ass. Talk about false advertising. I will be putting this message out for everyone to read. Their call center is incompetent, they have poor communication between corporate and technicians. We are not numbers, we are people, we rely on you. DO YOUR JOBS. read more

I would give no stars if possible. Their salesman who is "in the presidential club" and "been with the company for years" was the rudest person I have EVER conducted business with. Yelled at me over the phone because I changed my mind (before ever signing paperwork) to go to a 3 month plan instead of a year long plan... RUDE. Do not give them your business. read more

I contacted Orkin along with a few other pest control companies but ultimately decided to go with Orkin based on the knowledge of the gentleman that scheduled the appointment regarding the carpenter ants in my home. That is the only positive remark I have for this company. The employee showed up with equipment to take care of mice???? The gentleman that scheduled the appointment determined that the ants were probably located in the attic but the employee that showed up didn't even have a ladder. We supplied one that he proceeded to climb to the top rung. Needless to say the ladder buckled, he injured his leg, the trim around the attic access was pulled off. The employee was hurting so didn't get in the attic nor the outside. I called and requested a partial refund only to be told that EVERYONE is in a meeting for the next 4 hours.... read more

We've had 5 treatments for bedbugs and our problem just continues to get worse. They keep telling us more or different chemicals will make it better, and we just have to wait, but their poison is obviously not working. Our neighbor has not been properly treated, but the poison between our apartments and in my apartment should both be killing them as they come in. I am sick of living with bedbugs and even more sick of their lies. Spring for the heat treatment, you won't have to throw out your furniture, you won't shrink all your clothes with tons of high heat washings, and you won't have to live with bedbugs for months. It'll be cheaper in the long run. read more

I feel it's very ironic that they are pest control but yet they are the pests themselves. The first guy that came out was awesome I thought OK well worth the money spent after that it was all downhill. The second time I just got charged and nobody ever even called or told me that they were doing a service after that they said they would send somebody out I made sure I was home the technician didn't even know what the bugs were called or what he was supposed to be doing. They will charge you for services that no one ever did and when you cancel them they will still continue to send somebody out and charge you. I have called them four times telling them I canceled you and yet I still have the Orkin guy calling me trying to schedule services. These guys are nothing but a scam stay far away do not use them there's better companies out there they hold your credit card on file and charge it every month regardless if you get a service or not. Worst company ever I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!!!!!!! read more

I filled out an online survey for an estimate to remove carpenter ants. The quote they gave me on the phone was significantly (2-3 times) higher than quotes from other companies, so I decided the service. Within 30 min, I received 3 more calls from Orkin, 1 additional call from the national call center and two calls from local managers, one of whom was slightly rude and tried to convince me (without seeing the bugs) that they were not carpenter ants. Calling a customer who has declined your service 4 times in less than an hour is borderline harassment. read more

Do not use orkin...i hired them to come and remove a hornets nest in a tree near my home...long story short, after three unsuccessful technician trips the nest remains. Apparently, They did not pass along notes of what was needed from one tech. To the next so each one was not prepaired to handle or remove the nest. To make matters worse, i paid them and now i have to wait four to six weeks before i get my refund. I will not call them again, and Will NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

Scheduled an inspection. Took off work to wait 4 hours for not a call nor show. When dealing with pests, you want them gone! Called another company the next morning and has someone out in the afternoon. Horrible customer service. read more

We were referred for termite treatment in our 1930s house by another pest control company that no longer does termite treatment. The Orkin sales rep we talked to did not inspire a lot of confidence, didn't explain the treatment very well, and failed to respond to emailed follow-up questions, but we didn't have other good options so we proceeded with scheduling. The scheduling for the actual treatment was the most frustrating. We scheduled it for a Tuesday, then they called several times the weekend before to reschedule for Monday, which we were unable to do (I had already arranged to take Tuesday off), so they said we would leave it Tuesday. Then Monday they called and wanted to move it to Thursday. Sigh. OK, we move it to Thursday afternoon, 1-3 pm. Then the technician shows up Thursday MORNING at 9 am, with no heads up, because they mixed up the scheduling yet again - luckily I had arranged to work from home all day so it worked out, but I would have expected an apology from the manager for the way they handled this, and all we got was... radio silence. I felt they were not respectful of our times and busy schedules to keep jerking us around like this when we were paying thousands of dollars for a service. That said, the actual technician seemed competent and friendly, and from what I can tell he did a thorough job and cleaned up after his work. Luckily we only have to reschedule with them once a year now for re-inspections. The technician said I would receive a survey but I haven't gotten anything, though I would appreciate the chance to provide feedback directly to the company. read more

When they were at my home the first time, I specifically asked if I could choose when the treatments took place and I was told yes. I made it clear that I wanted to schedule the appointments and be home for the treatments. They said that they would make a note of it and it would be no problem. Next thing I know, I'm being charged for another treatment. They came to my home and went on my property without ever speaking to me. They aren't even able to access the areas that I need sprayed without me home, yet they still charged me for a full treatment. I called to complain and was told that's the way they work and that they had called and left a message a few days before arriving. I had been on vacation with no cell coverage and did not receive their call. I made it clear again that they were not to step foot on my property without my permission and speaking with me ahead of time. Yet, it happened again. This time I called back, yet they still came and charged me. I called to cancel the service, they charged me for the services that they did not have permission to do and were not able to complete because they did not have access to my home AND they charged me for an additional service that never took place. All because they refused to allow me to schedule a time when I would be home. read more

Terrible service. First, when you call them the call center in Georgia schedules an appointment. Then, after the 2 hour time window you sat at home waiting for them, the local guy calls you to tell you that the scheduling system is messed up and he has to come in every day to reschedule all the appointments. Don't waste your time. read more

If I could use the exact words I feel, I would be banned from the internet. This service has not done one single thing it has agreed to do. We purchased a house here and needed to get a new termite bond and quarterly bug spraying, but half the termite service was completed and there has been no response from the sales guy or response to any emails. When we called the headquarters they just kept passing us around like, well let's just say they could care less. I have never had an issue with any service while in the military living all over the world, or when living in the South where I'm originally from. The problems with getting anything done and honesty started once we moved to AZ. Everyone is nice except business owners and salesmen. I'm surprised this area hasn't been abandoned due to dishonesty and crap. read more

Horrible company - I can't believe they are still in business. Spoke with a representative over the phone & explained what I needed Orkin to assess. The rep said he could get someone out to evaluate the situation and to make recommendations. Tried to get me to agree to a year long service plan which I told him I was NOT interested in. He said no problem, then wanted pre-payment BEFORE they ever came to my home. I said no payment before services rendered. No problem. A tech came out, looked around and said he couldn't do the service as he didn't have the correct equipment but his co-worker would come out 2 days later. Co-worker came out and the first thing he wanted us to do was to sign the year service agreement which I had already told them we did not want. He said no year-long agreement, no service. WTF!!! On the top of the Service Order was written "SIGN CONTRACT AND COLLECT $$!!!" Really Orkin, your unsophisticated sales tactics, the microscopic print on your contract and the misrepresentations made by your employees have ensured that I will never use or recommend your services. read more

I don't know where to begin...I had bed bugs, so I called them. The guy came out and I signed a contract and we did the ton of work that is associated with getting prepared for them to spray. The first guy said we would have to be out of the house for 6 hours total. Now I have a cat and dog that had to go with me, so time mattered. So the technician gets there and says oh no you just need to be gone 4 hours total. So I come back after 4 hours and the chemical smell is overwhelming, but by this time I had let my cat out and he was not going back in his cage so we stayed. They always come back a second time to make sure they got all those bugs. I called the guy I signed the contract with the night before they were to come again. I said my roommate found a few, so would they be spraying again, he said no that was normal. So the technician gets there the next morning and says oh yeah he saw a few, so I am spraying again, so you need to leave again. This time was for 2 hours only, but not expecting to leave we had to scramble. Luckily it was a nice day, so my dog could stay outside, but had to bring cat with. Ok..,so bugs are gone and I had paid a darn good amount and I get a bill for 38.00 more dollars. Once again I call the guy who I signed the contract with and said what is this extra charge and he said I will look into it. Well I just checked my bank and they just went ahead and ran my card without my consent. I just called them and they said they will get back to me. I feel like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing here. They did get rid of the bed bugs, but for such a large company they should have their act together. read more

For two weeks I had been experiencing unexplaned bites which seemed to appear at night. I had spent countless hours searching my bed during the middle of the night fearing I had bed bugs. I was unable to find anything and decided to call a professional. My first meeting was with Pat of Orkin and sure enough, they ripped apart my bed and searched with a flashlight. The man found what he described was ONE shell of a female bed bug who was getting ready to lay her eggs. I was instructed to prepare for a cleaning and given an extensive list of must-dos before Orkin could come in and give my home the $1200.00 treatment it needed. I set up an appointment and went back to my room, searching my bed for more bugs as I vaccumed and sprayed alcohol all along my baseboards. I was 100% sure I had bedbugs as Orkin had said. I decided to get estimates from another company because $1200.00 is a lot of money for me to spend. I had two other companies come to my home, Wright Pest Control being one of them. BOTH companies assured me I infact DID NOT have bed bugs. They checked my room and the two additional bedrooms. I discussed how I had vaccmued my bed and they assured me signs of infestation would still be present. Dave from Wright was so wonderful. He took his time explaining different insects and the life stages of bed bugs and what should be present if in fact I did have an infestation. I will always use this company. My friend who did have a battle with bed bugs two years ago gave me Wright's information and her exterminator was Paul. She has nothing but great things to say about this company as well. So thankful for their honest and professional working style! I have never felt more disgusted with a company as I do of ORKIN. I feel they were playing on my fears and just trying to make a sale! read more
