I am extremely disappointed with the level of service I have received. I have called and texted multiple times, yet my messages have been ignored. Meanwhile, our pest problem has continued to get worse. We have rats, ants, and spiders throughout the property, and the existing traps were completely full and had not been serviced. Because there was no response, I had to go to Lowe's and spend over $80 of my own money on sprays, traps, and other pest control supplies. Since then, I have caught eight rats and had to bug-bomb the office due to an ant infestation. This level of service is unacceptable. I expect prompt communication and reliable pest control, especially when there are serious health and safety concerns. I would appreciate an immediate response explaining why my repeated calls and texts have gone unanswered and what steps will be taken to resolve this issue. Annual contract was a complete waste of money. To take care of a problem I've had the past three summers with ants, last year I hired Orkin to get rid of them. They did a good job of it, and ants more or less disappeared. Although I had never had any problems with ants in the autumn and winter months, I let Orkin talk me into an annual service contract. So they came the past eight months, assuring me we were staying ahead of any problems and it would keep the ant population from getting settled into my condo as they have the past three Springs. The rep was even here just a few days ago to take care of the outside of the building, and also last week to take care of the interior. Today on the first warm day of Spring, I came home from dinner, to find my kitchen floor near the entry door covered with ants. It is as if nothing had been done at all for the past eight months let alone this week's service. I would never again take the annual service contract from Orkin...the autumn and winter services were apparently a complete waste of money. read more

I live in an apartment building and there has been an infestation in this building for 5 years with cockroaches. The past three or four months there has now been bed bugs and boy those are fun! I'm allergic to those. There's also dead mice being found on the first floor and I have pictures of everything. The property manager hired orkin and signed up for the wrong package where they just come and inspect for an active infestation in a building for 5 years now! Why did orkin let her do this if they knew it was the incorrect package for an active infestation? Why are you guys just doing inspections to see if we have a pest problem it makes us feel like you don't believe us. you guys should have told our property manager when she signed up that she chose the wrong package and or been very clear about what she was purchasing and be very clear and how you pitch it to her. we have had four different exterminating companies come in and out of here and you're the fifth. I don't understand it but there are the elderly and disabled in this building that constantly come home to bed bugs cockroaches and dead mice that have moved in on the first floor. I don't know what the deal is but somebody is not being straight up. You guys show up unexpected today and you're supposed to give notice so the manager so she can give us notice in which there was none. You guys show up at 10:30 a.m. expecting our property manager and all of us to be prepared with no phone call before. I would have been thrilled to see your faces today and have some solution to this five year problem. When somebody agrees to a package you guys need to be very clear of exactly what it entails exactly not just inspection to see if we have a problem in this building come over anytime and check because I assure you there's a gigantic five-year problem in here. I have pictures and videos that go back 5 years of this filth. I keep my place super clean I'm part of the solution but nobody else has been part of the solution with me including any exterminating companies that this building residences at Residences Franklin Park has hired. It's constant letdowns the exterminators don't show up and it's always something and we continue to be infested and they multiply like gremlins so while everybody's trying to figure out who did wrong and who to blame they multiply by the million. There are people in here that are blind and could you imagine having to live with pests when you can't see them? There are people in this building that come home from chemotherapy to be eaten up by bed bugs and have to deal with cockroaches. There needs to be a good exterminator company that comes in here is consistent about what they do and be very clear of the packages they're selling. I'm very disappointed in orkin. At first everything was so great it was like a bait and switch and that guy got promoted Jacob was fabulous and thorough and he even busted into my wall with this little hole and sprayed in there and I was thrilled because it helped but since then there's been zero consistency. Sarah is a sweetheart she is so incredibly professional I genuinely really like her and it is not her fault but it is somebody's fault and it isn't mine or the people in this building that continue to suffer with this. I have called everybody and their mom I have called HUD housing, all the exterminating companies we've ever had, and the attorney State General, and the United States Attorney General. Anybody that'll listen but what I have found is no one cares because if they cared we wouldn't be sitting in this apartment building with an active infestation with dog at my homework excuses for 5 years now. I've lived here for 7. The first two years here was great but it has been in an irrecoverable nosedive since 2020. I really got my hopes up with orkin only to be let down all over again and it isn't just me it's hundreds of other people in here. It's disheartening. I feel let down and disappointed. Jennifer, the branch manager was wonderful to work with. We moved here from Chicago and we're concerned we had a moth infestation- she asked me to send pictures and alerted us to the Miller Moth migration telling me everything about their role, migration pattern and not yo worry as it would be a 3-4 week nuisance. She also gave us great tips, none of which required their services. So helpful and I would be glad yo use them for deadly insects or rodent issues in the future as I have confidence in their diagnostic skills to determine the problem BEFORE simply addressing with any chemicals that might not be necessary. I've been with Orkin since 2019. Honestly very happy with the service and really like my technician. But I like to be aware of any potential or upcoming changes in price of service (before signing a new contract) and field out options like any other responsible consumer. However, the individual I spoke with was extremely disrespectful and rude. She would not let me speak, had a hard time listening or taking turns in conversation, was very dismissive and clearly didn't want my business. She stated my rate may change at any time without any notice per their disclaimer. And it was not my right as a consumer to even ask such as question. Pretty shocking way to treat your customers. It was phrased in a very silly analogy about grocery stores raising prices. However, I do get to make a choice before buying a product... if I agree with the price at checkout versus a service charging more after the fact and without any prior notice. Pretty unethical and would prefer to give my business to a company that cares about their customers, wants to retain business, maintain positive and longer term relationships. We've been using Orkin since this past spring and it's been wonderful! I've noticed a significant decrease in mosquitos, spiders, and other common bugs. One of their technicians Sarah Williams was just here and she did an outstanding job! She removed all of the webs and bugs that collected from our covered porch and our back patio. She even sprayed under our stairs in the basement and our window wells which I truly appreciate! She was great with my dog, even though he was being a pain and barking at her the whole time. She was very pleasant and I hope to get her again! read more

Awful and expensive. They withdraw money from your account even when you are not on autopay and have already paid! They bill you for services that were never completed! They never come out for the in between services even though they claim to provide free in between services yet was scheduled and never showed up. They are rude and incompetent. The techs who come out spend like 5 minutes and are out! What kind of pest control service is this. The only tech that had a brain and did his job well was Dwayne. He was amazing and should be managing the branch since everyone there has no idea what they are doing. Never coming back and will never reccomend this place to anyone. read more

In a month of service, their traps caught a single mouse. Meanwhile, our own traps were catching mice very consistently. When the tech came for a follow up visit, I mentioned that their traps weren't working, maybe the bait needed to change, we were having luck with a different bait. He insisted that theirs worked, seemed to be in a huge rush, and left. We were so fed up with the ineffective service that we called to cancel. It turns out that the manager of this branch is impossible to get a hold of. I called for days, left messages, got no answer. When we did finally get a message across, the tech texted to say he would pick up the traps the next day, but refused to provide a time, and then showed up when we weren't available. These people are a nightmare to deal with, ineffective at pest control, and refuse to change anything about what they're doing when it's clear what they're doing isn't working. We've since gotten rid of the mice using our own traps and bait, which have been very effective. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! This is THE WORST service I have ever experienced with ANY company. They came and said they would seal our perimeter and left the traps on a shelf FOR US TO SET UP! WE caught the mice and disposed of them, just as we did before calling Orkin. My wife would call for additional appointments and would take several days to get someone to respond to her. We have now paid nearly $600 to get rid of mice! They are STILL CHARGING my credit card! The scribbling on the so-called contract is so bad we can't even read it! Yeah. I should have read this much better before I even attempted to work with them. I picked Orkin over Terminix because there didn't seem to be as many issues with getting locked into a contract. We wanted to go with a bigger name for the quality and guarantees but we will go with someone local now. As just about everyone else has shared, scheduling is really a mere suggestion for them. They will only do it if they feel up to it. At least we didn't have to wait around all day for it. But I received a text that seemed like it was "asking" if I could postpone to next week because they have "limited amount of technicians working". I replied that I did not want to reschedule and I never heard anything back. When I called to make I hadn't been rescheduled I found out that my appointment had actually been completely cancelled. We have a serious ant problem in our kitchen and if I had known I couldn't trust their phone scheduler's info then I would have gone with another company. So disappointed with the people Orkin hired. We called Orkin and corporate was extremely nice and professional. We arranged a date and time window for the service. The window was between 10:00am and 12:00 pm. Their tech Dewayne O'Bannon came in at 1:50 and said that he was going to do the service a certain spots instead of servicing the whole house and we had arranged. When my husband tried explaining what we have been told about the service requested he said " hey man I left paying customers to come and do you a favor. You need to bring it down, I don't like the way you are coming at me" needless to say we will never do business with this company. read more

One of the worst experiences ever. Not only do I have a mouse problem... but they kept changing the price on me after I signed a contract. They did not fix the problem and I had to eat the cost AND I have still have mice. $400 for a one time service. I would have never agreed to that. Hey, ORKIN! Guess what? Your sloppy, rude, inconsiderate employee tracked mud throughout my entire apartment after it was freshly mopped. Why? So he could come check the traps he left in various, conspicuous places throughout. I'm so thrilled that all my guests can see mouse traps all over the place. It's really welcoming. Know what else he did? Knocked over cleaning supplies in my bathroom cabinet which then leaked all over and destroyed a bunch of toilet paper and a basket. I think it would be prudent of you, #ORKIN, to re-evaluate your practices and hiring choices. If you want more advice on how you can improve your customers' experience, I charge $250/hour. Called orkin on Friday to take care of a rodent problem and even tho i thought the price was a little high i agreed,was told someone would be out on Saturday between 2 and 4 pm. It is 6 pm and I see no evidence of the rodents being gone. could that be because no one showed up from orkin. When I call orkin to see if they were still on their way. I was told the service department was closed at this time,and if I wanted to reschedule,Like it was my fault. If I could rate these guys at 0, I would. Orkin had been coming to my house since 2014 for a mouse problem. Between 2014-2016, Orkin killed ONE mouse. At one point, the Orkin rep. placed sticky mouse traps along the perimeter of EVERY room in my house. I told the rep. that wasn't acceptable. He told me that was the only solution they had for the problem. Seriously? After 6+ no shows from Orkin, and 8+ appointments that were "scheduled" by the rep (without consulting me), I finally hired another company. Within 1 week, the new company killed 5 mice. Since then, I haven't had a problem. Every penny I spent with Orkin was a HUGE waste of time and money. AVOID THIS COMPANY! read more

TL;DR: THESE GUYS ARE THE WORST (if I could give them a zero, I would). Terrible service, terrible communication. In fact, our mice actually INCREASED after we started using their service! And for over $100/month, we were paying for glue traps that we literally saw the mice running through. When asked if we could get more effective traps, they told us that we had to "continue extending the service," and they would escalate the traps "as needed." However, the four mice we say in the house this morning led me to believe that it was past-time to escalate, and that Orkin simply wanted to stretch out the service for as long as possible (there's no money for them if they ACTUALLY get rid of the mice, as we wouldn't need the service anymore). On top of that, they didn't show up for our final scheduled service, refusing to deliver on the work that their representative had promised us. When I asked if we could simply get our traps switched out for ones that worked (nothing new added), they acknowledged that the glue traps are not their most-effective trap, but that we'd have to continue service to get them switched out... But I'd already paid for their "professional" service for a couple months, and all it got me was about $30 worth of low-grade glue traps (and no caught-mice)! In fact, the remediation I did on my own (using $10 worth of supplies from Home Depot) caught two mice in a week, while $450 and three months of service with Orkin caught zero. Just to make it abundantly clear: THESE GUYS ARE SNAKE-OIL SALESMEN WITH A TERRIBLE PRODUCT, ABYSMAL SERVICE, AND ABSOLUTELY NO FOLLOW-THROUGH. They will take you for a ride for as long as they can, draining you of money while your home fills with pests, then try to up-sell you when their service yields nothing. STAY FAR AWAY. You'd have better results letting your toddler take care of the mice with a plastic hammer than you would hiring these so-called "professionals." read more

We have been using Orkin for years... 15+ maybe. We have used them at two different properties over the years. We had a technician named Justin FOREVER and he was so friendly and super amazing at what he did. We have had Richard Garlic as technician for a while and we've had no problems at all! I would rather have all the bugs in Colorado in my house then let these people back on my property. Here are my top reasons why: 1. This company cannot get their billing right and triple charge their customers month after month which takes FOREVER to get resolved. 2. I had to ask the last technician who came to my house to please include the upstairs and downstairs because he was content just hitting the main level of my house and calling it a day. 3. I receive a call from their 'Quality Assurance' Manager asking if he can come to my property to evaluate the technician's work. So I make arrangements with my work to stay home and accommodate this request. It turns out, the 'Quality' Assurance was really just a creepy sales man who wandered thru my house and my property for an hour and a half taking photographs without my permission to build me a proposal to mitigate for termites (that there are no signs of) and to add insulation to my attic. The price tag on this little bundle of bull### was staggering and I am enraged that he thought it was ok to just LIE to me about why he was here and to photograph my house and property without asking me first. If I wanted an inspection- I would have asked for it. I did not. You lied to get your way into my house to try to convince me of work I don't need and sent a man so creepy I had to tell him about my husband (that doesn't exist) to make him leave. 4. I call the office and ask for a manager to complain about my wasted day with the creepy man and she says 'He should have used different words. Orkin has been the most unresponsive and unhelpful company. To setup my initial service it took 3 phone calls to get anyone to actually show up, I should have stopped calling and fine somewhere else after 2 calls. When they showed up they only sprayed but the quote said they were sealing the property. After calling back 3 more times they were scheduled to come out and called and confirmed the day before. Then no one showed up. Then today I get a notification for my warranty period ending so they are sending a tech out to confirm service. I called orkin in July to rid our yard of multiple wasp nests. I had to call them to come back three times afterwards because the nests were not removed and remained active after three visits. I called to cancel their services in august and was told that was not possible because I signed a contract with them for a year. I had only corresponded with them over the phone and never met them in person so there was no way I had signed any year long contract with no proof of their services actually working. I eventually spoke with someone who said they would cancel my plan. Now I'm receiving demands in the mail that my account is 90 days passed due with them for a total of $230. Not sure how this would happen as I was set up for automatic bill pay and have bank statements of my bill being paid in July and august, after contacting the branch I continue to get brushed off and told that a manager will call me back it has been weeks with no returned call and now they are texting me saying I owe them money. After 20 years, it seems to be time to change. I changed my day to the 4th Wednesday of the month. Several times they changed my day because of an employee meeting and did not advise me! My day was to be last Wednesday May 23, 2018 - no show. As of today no show. I would not recommend Orkin - Customer service is no longer available! New billing procedure is a joke. I was actually happy with Orkin for the first year and a half. Today, they came out for the normal bi-monthly service and the technician handed me a bill that had increased from my normal rate. I asked the technician about it and he said to contact the office. I was not informed of an increase and they wouldn't have told me if I didn't notice. To me this is fraud. read more

We had several piles of what looked like termite dung. Based on thorough internet research, we were convinced we had drywood termites and we were prepared to have our house tented and fumigated Breaking Bad style. Orkin came out and did a very thorough inspection and found that two of the piles were ants and one was another harmless bug. He recommended using Terro from Home Depot for the ants. Very professional, knowledgable, and thorough. Like I said, he could have easily sold us on $1000+ treatments, but instead recommended a $5.99 Home Depot remedy. No high pressure. Unlike many of the other reviews, we recieved no other Orkin sales calls--and we do receive any unsolicited calls, I'll be back on here demoting them! Obviously, I can't evaluate the efficacy of their pest treatments--but I was happy with their service. read more

Recently, our mother, while gardening, noticed that there were some bricks out of place near her porch. It turns out, a nice family of raccoons had moved under her porch. We called Orkin, and were quoted a price. While we thought the price was rather high, we decided to give them a try. Three days, two no-shows, and four rude customer service calls later, it is time to go with a pest control company that actually gives a damn about their customers. Considering the laundry list of one star reviews on this Yelp listing, you might want to work on pulling the stick out of your customer service center reps butts, and work on getting your on-site exterminators to stop standing up their customers, and do what they say they are going to do. read more

I called customer service at 5:50 and then 6:45 and they were absolutely no help saying they couldn't reach the branch. Signed a contract for a month to the tune of almost $400, Orkin sent out a totally inept serviceman who looked at the house, couldn't find any place where mice might enter the house, set out some little boxes, and said that the house was very clean and he had no suggestions..... He came out again because we caught 1 mouse and there were still mouse dropping in the house. He added more bait to the boxes, added a few more boxes, and still no help!! The salesman called the very same day and came to the house first thing in morning. He was very professional and truly cared. I was having some work done to replace my deck. I'm Disabled and he called the technician while I was home. Later that night the technician called to let me know that they will be there around morning. Brad Gagnon was very helpful. Him and his partner (in training) spray and check out around the house. I was going to have a contractor come out to but in a pole for my American flag. He jumped right on it after his spraying was done. This would have taken me for day's. Now that he helped it will be up Monday. The total experience was best I've had in years. Great job, Guys. Though I had spent time on the phone prior to this agreeing on service and on a price, the tech that came had a completely different price for additional service that I didn't want or need. Had I not read the contract thoroughly, I would never have known that they were trying to scam me. I can only assume that the representative on the phone intentionally put in those additional services assuming that I wouldn't read the contract and would agree to pay the additional costs. read more

Bunch of crooks. Called ORKIN for carpenter ants. The agent on the phone that after the initial treatment of $300, there are 5 more at $106 per treatment, period. After these treatments it is guaranteed for a year. I called Terminex prior and the cost was almost the same. The technician at the house now says I need 6 followup treatments. Called back the agent at Orkin, and now they all wishy washy - "the technician may determine that you may need more treatments". So, the "free estimate" upfront is worthless, The agent on the phone said that they will find and destroy the "primary colony" during the first visit. The technician said that he doesn't need to do that - just spray the outside of the house. read more

I can understand all the negative reviews in here because I saw much of the same trouble. Sometimes scheduling gets messed up. We'd have people call to spray our house several days after it had been performed by our tech, etc. First off, when you call the main Orkin number, they will try to sell you a yearly plan and diagnose your problem over the phone. Just ask to speak to your local Orkin team. They will dispatch a tech who will set you up. We only did a 2-treatment plan which we got at a discount because we asked for one. The original tech Jeremy took ownership of our carpet beetle problem but after several treatments he couldn't get the final 5% of the beetles to stop showing up, so he was going to bring out a supervisor free of charge to eradicate the problem or refund our money. Jeremy abruptly left Orkin due to personal circumstances and one of the supervisors Jerome showed up, with another supervisor, Bill. Jerome and Bill looked over the home over. Jerome was fantastic, with a great attitude and was very apologetic that we were left in limbo. Bill broke one of our decorations downstairs with a ladder and ran the ladder into a wall somewhere else, without so much as a sorry. Probably isn't the best guy for Orkin to put in front of customers if he breaks their s--- and hardly shows humility. Ultimately, Jerome recommended that we cut into our kitchen cabinets because his experience showed that mice from previous owners may have stashed something underneath that carpet beetles were eating. Shortening the story, through several follow-up visits all at no charge, Jerome had cut out the bottom of one of our cabinets (with our approval) and found POUNDS of dog food underneath that mice had stashed here and the beetles were feeding from. All is cleaned out and sprayed, and we are now clear of the carpet beetles and our issue has been solved for only several hundred dollars. Jerome has a great attitude, great knowledge, is very respectful, and fun to work with. If you have the chance to get Jerome to your property, he'll make sure you're taken care of. read more
