I always try to find the best for my baby pug, and when I heard about the high quality products Orijen makes for both dogs and cats, I decided to see if it would be a great fit for my own as well. Orijen, a Canadian company, pride themselves in having their products biologically-appropriate, offering an array of meats such as fresh, cage-/range-free chicken, turkey, meats and fish. They have a list of farmers that they source their meats from, each farm being designated for a specific meat (like boar, chicken, lamb, etc.); they hold everything to a very high standard, and use ingredients that are even safe for human consumption. In addition, their freeze-drying method is pretty impressive, as they start off by flash-freezing the ingredients at the peak of their freshness, then do an 18-hour freeze-drying process that extracts all the water out. They have dry food for puppies and adult pups, but my pup's favorite is the Regional Red freeze-dried food - this contains Angus beef, wild boar, lamb, heritage pork, and bison, and the patties themselves are huge and thick, smells meaty, and keeps it shape. At the same time, you can also crumble it easily for smaller mouths/bites (like for my pug) - she eats it all right up and absolutely loves it! :D It is a little pricier compared to other freeze-dried brands, but Orijen has won many awards and have been highly-rated. I really love Orijen, and I'm sure your pup will, too! :D
