I've been taking my two Yorkies to Premium Pet Styling for several years--four years with our first dog and two with our second. While the location has always been convenient, the service has only ever been okay. For the price they charge, I would have expected more attention to detail and better quality, but unfortunately, that hasn't been the case. What pushed me to write this review was today's experience. We arrived 20 minutes late due to unavoidable traffic, and they charged us an additional $70 late fee--on top of the already steep $230 for two haircuts. Paying $300 for two small dogs' grooming is simply outrageous, especially when the results are just average at best. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I want to caution others to carefully consider their options. For this price, you can likely find a groomer who provides both better service and higher-quality work. read more

I have taken my 15 week old puppy to get his second hair cut which cost me about $145.00. The reason being is they said he was so matted and that they had to shave him to the bone in -42 weather. When I called to talk to the owner about this I was told that my dog came in neglected and I can assure you it was not. The dog is a miniature schnauzer that weighs 5LBS, they have blamed everything from the clothing to him getting his hair wet.. Again.. This was his second cut and did not have much hair. He had the typical schnauzer cut. I will not return and ensure anyone else I know does not. As a owner of a company I strongly do not agree on telling a family there dog is neglected when it is the farthest thing from the truth... I do not recommend this place for your furry friends needs as they are not there priority! read more

We have been taking our dog here for 5 or more years. We used to live 20 mins away but moved to the country which is now 45 mins away. We liked who Rufus was groomed by and chose to continue driving to them. Yesterday we booked Rufus in as we had forgotten to do so last appointment, there was an opening this morning and we took it. At the time, it was snowing and the roads were good and I honestly didn't think much of it. This morning, when we woke to a foot of snow, I said to my husband who needs to plow us out, I said will call and let them know we can't make it. When we called we were told there would be a charge for a no show appointment. I tried explaining that we had booked within the last 24 hours, there was no negotiations or understanding. I am done with this place. They traumatized my daughters dog with a nail trim and now this. You've lost two long term clients and I advise everyone who wants to be treated with reason to avoid this place. They are all about money read more

UPDATE: Disappointed with the owners response to this review. Lots of excuses and missing the point all together. If a mistake is made, don't you think you should offer to bring the dog back in to fix it? I'm not surprised there are so many negative reviews specifically about the owner. Original review: The price is premium but the service is hit or miss. Some of the groomers are courteous and answer questions. Others drag your dog by the leash and are annoyed when questions are asked. Because they boast a superior experience compared to the average groomer, I was expecting some consultation as a new dog owner. I asked 'what hair cuts do you offer for doodles?' The response was 'You just need to tell me what you want.' Just not what I expected. That all aside, the hair cut is crooked (see picture). I'm sure they'll offer to fix it, but I'd prefer it was just done right first time. This is what I'd expect from PetSmart, not a boutique business. read more

After months of do-it-yourself dog baths at a local pet shop, we decided to take our dog - a husky mix- to a groomer, for a full bath, nail clipping and brush. While we had expected just that, we received so much more. Initially, we had scheduled a groom for a weekday and then rescheduled, an hour before the appointment. This - a faux pas to any appointment based business, waived off as a simple pardon. No fee, and no indication of being blackballed from PPS. We rescheduled a week later, and on the day of the appointment, I did the unthinkable (after already canceling the initial meeting), by asking if there were any earlier openings. They mentioned I could bring him in any time between 5:30 and 6:30, and I thanked them graciously. Upon dropping my dog off, I had an array of questions. How is this going to be different from a simple bath and brush I could do myself, using my expensive Furminator rake for the heavy coat. The staff were very accommodating, taking the time to explain both the costs and the package initially requested by my girlfriend. They put my mind at ease, as I sensed a genuine likeness for animals, as opposed to seeing this as a job. I was told that they closed at 8, so that I should come by before 8 and he would be ready to go. I came by at 7:55, ready to pickup my best friend. He looked excited to see me. Not just excited because he wanted to leave, i mean- he actually looked happy. I paid for their services, which were itemized and explained by the staff. Moments later, upon loading my dog into the backseat of my car I noticed a blast of scent coming from his newly washed coat. Did he smell fresh, or did he smell fresh!? Shiny coat, light to the touch. His dew claws were all trimmed adequately, so that they no longer looked like the dried macaroni I had come to expect when I picked him up from precious groomers. Several days after, I noticed the usual spots in our town home that were usually wrought with sheddings, simply had none. I'm not just saying that, as we had vacuumed the day after his groom, for family thanksgiving. I mean- he legitimately looked white and soft to the touch, and yet- the shedding was next to nil. After all of the questions asked and the precautionary measures and sentiments felt, I am glad that we trusted PPS for our four legged family member. He seemed to enjoy himself, we felt the pricing was fair and the value received afterwards, knowing that we received a valuable service at a reasonable cost- it was very worthwhile. Moving forward, I will be sure to use and recommend Premium Petstyling for any/all pet grooming that comes to mind. Service 5/5 Value 5/5 Price 4.5/5 Great work. Will be back! read more

Jordan is the best groomer I've found for my Shih-tzu. This is why: She does exactly the cut I ask for which has a bunch of different lengths to keep his round face shaved body and longer legs. When I pick Bozli up he is confident and brave which is not normally the case when I pick him up from other groomers. Often he acts panicky and scared with other groomers but not with Jordan. This shows how well she treats him and he trusts her throughout the process which is most important. I drive to the other side of the city and pay a premium so he gets this treatment. We were left with our daughter's baby shih pooh while she went away camping. Our grand baby was in desperate need of a full first haircut and also a good shampoo and conditioner to help with her dry skin itching issues. We previously took our pup to a famous chain for her first 2 face and bum hair cuts. We were asked to help them with their job by getting our grand baby use to the razor sound by running an electric toothbrush near to her every day. If she did not get use to the sound to keep still at 4 months when they cut her coat they would not give her a full hair cut just face and bum. I found this Pet spa via Yelp prior to our daughter returning home from camp. Discussed with the owner what we would like to have done, the previous issues we had and she was fine with all of it told us to leave Heaven with her all will be fine. When my wife brought Heaven our grand baby home, her coat felt like silk, she smelt gorgeous and her dry skin itch has subsided significantly. We recommend this Pet Spa. read more

He goes every 2 to 3 weeks, is 6 months old and gets the same thing done. This time they did a very poor job. His face and paws had so many razor burns and the hair was shaved at different lengths. Been going for Years and no problem. However this time our Dog got not 1 but 3 razor burns. We had to take him to the Vet as we were not sure what exactly the 3 sores were. We called no one called back. The next day we emailes they did call back but wouldnt offer anything. Not even a free haircut / some off the Vet bill or some off the $95 we just paid them. It was said i signed a waiver and can happen at anytime. Yes maybe however with being 14 years never once had a reaction and it also is in 3 different places where looks lile more was taken off then other spots. Regardless the fact they were not willing to be accomodating at all. Absolutely bad service and being a Customer for Years i will never take my dog there again. The time before it to they missed cutting his nails but we were leaving on a trip the day after so i left it. Absolutely terrible Service. Also said i was threatening them when I said i would do a review. I am only saying my experience with them. read more

Tamara is a wonderful professional and certified dog groomer. My goldendoodle puppy needed a haircut for the summer, but I didn't want her shaved because I personally do not like the "poodle look" goldendoodles get post shave. I expressed my concerns to Tamara, and she made some really helpful recommendations. When I brought my puppy into Groomingdale's, she was being a little maniac and barking up a storm, but Tamara reassured me not to worry and that my puppy would be fine. Less than 2 hours later, my puppy was done with her spa experience. Tamara did a great job with her bath, scissor cut, nails and styling (my puppy had two really cute bows put in her hair- adorable!). Tamara apologized for it not being the most even haircut (definitely not noticeable!) because she wanted my puppy to have a positive experience. My puppy had such a good time, she actually didn't want to leave! Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend Tamara for all your pet's grooming needs; I know I definitely will be going back. Make sure to book well in advance, as Tamara books up really quickly! read more

First of all, the staff appear to be friendly and caring of my dog. However, it appears they do not listen to their customer's requests when the dog is being dropped off. The last time I took my pup in (4th time) I very clearly indicated I wanted her coat to be 1/4" all over. The groomer asked what about her face - I said yes, everywhere was to be this length. The groomer then asked about her tail - again I said yes - everywhere. When I went to pick up my pup, the face was not cut down but just trimmed in a style which I had requested previously not be done. Her tail was trimmed but not down to 1/4". The groomer indicated she thought that was what I wanted - in spite of her specifically asking. My pup's overall coat length is from 1/2" to 1". They did cut the face and tail down but not to the 1/4" when I complained. I spoke to Tamara and after some discussion, I was told it was a miscommunication problem!!!!! How insulting!!! If using this shop, please ensure the groomer is taking notes of your wishes. Each of the last 3 times I have been in, I have had the groomers redo some part of the cut. I feel the groomers are more interested in how they feel the dog should look vs what their customer is asking. I will not be going back again. read more

Very pleased with my dogs grooming. She looks adorable and the groomer complied with my requests of keeping her lashes long and giving her little bows. She came home looking very sweet and feminine which can be hard to accomplish with such a prominent natural mustache lol. She was also done within 2 hours which I really appreciate! The groomer even told me about the dog suncreen they have and was honest in saying my dog likely doesn't need it unless we shave her right down. This will definitely be our groomers from now on! read more

Tamara is wonderful and kind hearted!!! Super kind and gentle with our rescue from without borders. Our mixed breed is timid and can be aggressive to people she doesnt know.
