I decided also take my trama rescue cat Java to the vet they literally saved her life and the vet tech Gail was so amazing she was able to handle and examine my little java. Dr.kolla and this clinic I highly recommend. I had a dental and s lump removal for peanut and respitory infection for java . I have 0 complains and all positive feed back. I've been to many many vet over s span of 30 years and this one is the best so far. Thank you all west brook staff . You are the best

My experience with Westbrook Vet Clinic started out great - initially…read more Staff was really friendly and they were all excited about her, as they had never seen her breed before; a Black Russian Terrier. I then booked an appt. for her required second set of shots. (note: I spent quite awhile at that first visit, as what dog lover doesn't love to talk about their dog? LOL. I felt they were a bit 'heavy handed' about the insurance. But take it or leave it right? As it turned out - to get insurance for my dog; with a $250. deductible it would have cost me ONLY $500. plus per month. I just about fell on the floor. I was stunned that anyone could say that with a straight face. Seriously?!?! Obscenely ridiculous. I don't know anyone - with or without tons of money who would EVER consider paying such extortion-like prices.) However, the part that left me VERY UNIMPRESSED was that when I went in for my appt. (you know; pre-booked for that specific service?) The vet was friendly and examined her in a small exam room. He gave her the kennel cough nasal dosing and then proceeded to tell me that they 'were out' of vaccines. Sooooo NOT COOL!! But stuff happens and although I wasn't thrilled to have to return again; it was not the end of the world. Right? So, I return when the vaccines 'came in' and I was stunned to have a 'woman from the front counter' (what were her credentials? was she a vet tech? She didn't clarify anything) She just took her leash from me and promptly WALKED AWAY WITH MY DOG (not inviting me, the owner to follow or otherwise) she went into one of the exam rooms and passed thru the rear door (closing it behind her) I, of course followed, thinking 'what the heck are you doing lady?!?!' I open the rear door to their back room - where I said "Um, I want to be WITH my dog and SEE the vaccination" and there she was giving her the injection! Of course she may well have been a trained vet assistant but I'll never know! She was quite arrogant about the whole thing and acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing. I PAID for a physical exam and expected the VET to give her the injection. (I can go to G & E Pharmacy and obtain my own vaccinations for about $9 bucks. *** I have owned dogs forever and done this countless times in the past; when my pets were in great physical condition (you cannot do rabies yourself, but I had never taken any of my dogs out in the bush or forested areas so I never had rabies shots done) Needless to say, the 'in-stock' preparedness was a big FAIL but the 'woman-at-the-counter-walking-away-with-my-dog' (without explanation) was ENTIRELY UNACCEPTABLE. I have dealt with vet techs and have no problem. But in this case who knows what her training was? The ONLY reason I go to a vet is for 'THE VET'!!!! Never again. - TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE - VERY POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS They blew it, period.

Sturgeon County Kennels - Sturgeon County Kennels makes JoJo a happy girl!

I'm going to cheat on this one a bit and just cut and paste a Google review that Heather posted on…read moreSturgeon County Kennels. I added this business, and was surprised it wasn't listed. We can't say enough great things about this place... we love our dog to the moon and are so lucky to have such a loving, caring place for her to stay when we are out of town. But Heather said it better, so here is her review: We are fairly regular visitors to Sturgeon County Kennels, bringing our pooch JoJo in while we're out of town throughout the year. We have been bringing her here for about seven years and do not hesitate to recommend the facility to absolutely everyone we can. The team here is amazing and our girl literally power pulls us from the car to the main building each time we arrive and if her tail excitedly helicoptered any faster, she would be flying there! Aside from the most fantastic team of professionals, who we truly believe care for our dog as much as we do, the facility is very well kept and clean no matter what time of the day you arrive. A family run small business, it appears to be a busy location at peak times, so it's good to make reservations in advance. The layout is such, though, that a full house doesn't translate into over-populated and all the dogs have their own private space to roam in their kennels in addition to access to a common area outside. Our pooch JoJo is great with people and bigger dogs but isn't so keen on little dogs. The Sturgeon County team always takes note and makes sure she doesn't bother the little guys but still gets her exercise and social time with the big dogs. Last but not least, we can't say enough about Sue from the team. She truly has become a friend we look forward to seeing and our dog is so genuinely overjoyed each time she's there! Sue goes above and beyond in her customer service focus and it's more than evident she loves her job and the dogs she cares so well for. We've test driven a half dozen kennels in the Edmonton area and now look no further. We will continue to bring JoJo to her home away from home where she is cared for like at her own home. If we could give Sturgeon 10 out of five stars, we wouldn't hesitate!!

I can wholeheartedly say the entire team (Adam, Nick, Angie, Corenna, and Brenda) are people I would trust my dogs with. Mully is a German Shepherd mix with anxiety and, although she loves people, she's not always so great with other dogs and she seems to have a thing about hats. Don't ask... Anyway, the team is so patient with her and practices from a place of reward training instead of punishment. My other dog, Cooper, literally whines for part of the drive home after leaving because he misses them (he LOVES his Corenna). He can tell when we're going there and bursts with excitement on the drive. It's funny. More than anything, I learn a lot from them. They make me feel like I am a good dog owner and I can overcome the things that I think I'm struggling with. They give me the tools to be better and are willing to call me out on my excuses. That part kind of sucks, but they're sweet about it. The only drawback for me is the pickup times - sometimes it's hard to get there by 6 pm due to the nature of my job, but I just work around it by only bringing the dogs to doggy day care on the days I know something urgent is unlikely. Whatever you need for your dog, I'm pretty sure they can help you figure it out in a way that works for your lifestyle.
