I've been seeing Ross Lewis for deep tissue massages for about a year now, and every session leaves me feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. His technique is unique and he's able to find knots that other therapists miss. He also really cares about his clients. You can tell he's not just going through the motions; he's focused on actually helping you feel better. Highly recommend if you're looking for a massage therapist who combines real expertise with genuine care. read more

I first visited this establishment years ago -- before I was even on Yelp -- so I can't quite remember the exact location, but I do remember loving my experience. I actually took my best friend there for Christmas, and it was such a great time. It was so good that the following year I sent my mother-in-love for her birthday, and another year I surprised my wife with a visit for hers. They both had amazing things to say about their experiences. I'm definitely overdue for a return -- I can't wait to go back this year! read more

Ross Lewis left me in worse shape than when I came in (more pain to my shoulder). I vcomplained via phone AND email due to his botched massage for my money back, but they would not give it to me. I would not recommend this place as they sometimes do not listen to customer requests (as on other occasions) or leave you in worse shape (as on Sun. 9/12/26). Avoid at all coats. read more

I haven't had a massage for a long time and decided to give this place a chance. I asked for a deep tissue massage and paid for a deep tissue massage. The facility is lovely, wonderful ambiance. I went to a room that is for couples. I was disappointed that the massage was nothing like I've had before at other massage places. The man sat in a stool and applied a lot of oil, would slide his hands up and down my skin. Like a petting motion. The entire massage was like that. I didn't feel any different after the massage and found myself quite disappointed. I got an email from Origins reminding me to leave a review. I responded asking to speak to someone about my experience and after a week, no response. I proceeded to email the email address on the website and gave my feedback. No response after 3 weeks I didn't feel like that was a deep tissue massage. The gentleman was sitting on a chair for 90% of the massage. Maybe he had a long day already. read more

Do yourself a favor and come here! I've been coming for three months now for Thai massages and am thoroughly impressed! I've gotten too many deep tissue massages to count, mainly in Asia, and this is the closest massage to what I've experienced in Asia/Thailand. I've had massages from Poon (male) and Ubon (female), and both are fantastic and go deep. I've also had their facial, which was just okay. So glad I got their membership and I look forward to this every month! read more

I've been coming here for almost two decades. Erica who was the best masseuse they had left because of management issues and there has been a ton of management turnover since. Decided to book again years later for their open house special. Without a doubt, everything is clean and pristine, with a comfortable waiting area and tea room for after your massage which is lovely. But I just had the worst deep tissue massage if you would even call it that; that had me feeling more anxious upon leaving than coming in. I specifically asked for an extremely strong masseuse weeks ago, because I need a ton of pressure (an 8 out of 10). The receptionist who booked me said it wouldn't be a problem repeatedly because I stressed the point. Ive been getting massages once a week for 7 years and have never had a sizable male masseuse care so little about validating pressure after I had to ask him SIX times to go stronger. He'd start for 10 seconds then go back to a 5/10 firmness. Never once asked if that was ok for me. His technique was not suited for deep tissue at ALL. Is was more of a Swedish massage with a lot of rubbing up and down vs getting into any trigger points or knots he found (and ignored). His strengths were in foot reflexology (which he chose to do before my head and neck, (gross), and the ten second head massage. He was clearly sick and wasn't wearing a mask, and I had to listen to the full blown conversation of the customer and masseuse next door because the separators don't run up to the ceiling and the spa music was so low. At checkout they didn't bother asking how it went proactively (which echoes the lack of enthusiasm by masseuse). So I just unloaded half of these details on them given that was the most disappointing massage experience in my life. They kindly comped me a certain percent off (thank you). This was hopefully a one off experience because I can't imagine they'd still be in business otherwise. read more

Zen Vibes and Silent High-Fives at Origins Thai Spa Step into Origins Thai Spa, and you might think you've walked into a tranquil modern oasis--nothing '70s here, just pure, stylish Zen. I recently floated out of a 90-minute deep tissue massage that was so good, it felt like my knots had been sent on a one-way trip to blissville. Ubon was the wizard of the hour--quiet, focused, and supremely skilled. She checks in about the pressure without making small talk, which is perfect for those of us who prefer our massages served silent. It's like she's got a sixth sense for finding those trouble spots and making peace with them, no chatter necessary. The spa itself? Impeccably clean, with a vibe that's both chic and calming. They've mastered the art of crafting a space where you can really unwind, all while keeping it sleek and modern. Five stars to Origins Thai Spa for a sublime experience where the only sounds are the soothing whispers of Zen. Ubon and the team make sure you leave feeling lighter and brighter. Trust me, your knots (and your need for quiet) will thank you! read more

Decided to go in after my workout to the Arlington location. My girlfriend just joined the Alexandria location which we been to plenty of times . She wanted me to enjoy a massage since we both frequent getting them and why not signed up. I called around 1:30pm to schedule a 2:30pm hour massage with my 1 hour gift certificate. At no point did the massage therapist put lotion or oil and when he got to my neck he started digging with his nail and I expressed my discomfort. He continued and I kept feeling his nail dig in my skin. After my massage kept feeling like I was bleeding. It wasn't until I got home and took off my shirt I saw what this so called professional did. Worst experience ever and I will be contacting the better business bureau and I already emailed info@originsthaispa.com Please stay away from this location. It looks good but completely unprofessional. Maybe I didn't have the right skin complexion to be treated like any other customer. read more

I cannot recommend Sinaa highly enough! She is an absolute master of her craft as a facialist and aesthetician. From the moment you sit in her chair, you can tell she is meticulous and genuinely cares about every detail. She takes the time to carefully cleanse, extract impurities, and pamper your skin with the most relaxing massages. Her facials include layers of luxurious masks, red light therapy, and treatments that leave your skin feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and glowing. Every step is intentional and precise, and she clearly knows exactly what your skin needs. I've had many facials over the years, but Sinaa is hands down the best I've ever experienced. She creates an incredible balance of effectiveness and indulgence -- a truly transformative experience. Do yourself a favor and book with her; your skin (and your soul!) will thank you. read more

My go-to spa for massages in the area! I highly recommend seeing Lisa-- her deep tissue massages work magic. She carefully listens to areas I'm hoping to focus on and avoid, checks in to make sure she's using the right amount of pressure, and does an amazing job relieving knots and tension in my shoulders. For being in a city, Origins does a great job of keeping the spa atmosphere. When you step in, it's dark and quiet, there are large, comfortable seating areas, and there is plentiful tea and water. All employees are friendly and professional. read more

After years of receiving massages, I found Origins Thai Spa about a year ago. I am a very happy costumer. My friend and I went today for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. It was easy to book and the facility was very nice and clean. However, the massage was just ok for both of us. I didn't feel that it was truly deep tissue and my friend also had the same experience. I asked my massage therapist for more pressure s few times. She did put more pressure at some points but it wasn't consistent and I felt overall it was just a mostly relaxing massage which was disappointing because I came in with some areas that I really needed help with. I'm not sure if I'll go back, but if I do, I'll closely read the reviews to pick which therapist I book with. read more

This was my first massage and Amber did an excellent job making me feel comfortable and relaxed. From start to finish it was amazing and I left feeling very calm and pain-free. I got the Thai Euro massage (60 minutes) and it was the perfect length and hit all of my pain points with the perfect amount of pressure. The receptionists were also very friendly, and the waiting area was very pretty and calming. I was offered tea and water before and after the massage which was a nice touch. I will definitely be back! read more

First time here and had a lovely experience! As soon as I walked in, I felt I was entering into a different space- leaving the stresses of the world behind. The space was very calming and serene. I had the 60 minute aromatherapy massage with Padeya and she was fantastic. She listened to my needs and focused on my shoulder and hips. She had great technique and used the right amount of pressure. I signed up for the month to month package deal! $109 for a 60 minute massage or facial per month (vs $139) to try another session or more. read more

The massages here are ok - totally depends on the masseuse you get. It's not any better than other places. But don't get trapped into their membership. And the policies here are crazy inflexible and the only way you can change appointments is by calling them. If you want to make a change to your appointment 24 hours ahead of time (their requirement), and nobody picks up the phone (I've had days where I've called 10x and nobody picks up) or they are closed, they will change you for the appointment. They won't allow you to make changes to your appointments, only bookings. Thai Origins needs to get with the rest of the world and move this all online. They make it very difficult to adjust appointments and have no flexibility to the point of it being nonsensical (eg, I've tried to move a previous appointment due to Covid exposure and they still wanted to charge me- did you want me to come in sick?). To respond to the comment below: yes I called between work meetings starting in the morning and throughout the day and every time I called, the line was busy. By the time I called at the end of the day you were closed and there was no way to move my appointment, since you don't have an online management system (only to book but not change). You must've had a pretty busy day but it's very frustrating when you make it very difficult to change appointments. To threaten to blacklist a customer just bc I wrote an honest review about the experience I had with your reservation system is appalling and speaks to how you treat customers, especially since I've continued to go to your business for years. read more

My husband and I visited Origins Thai Spa this afternoon for a couples massage. It was such a wonderful experience. My husband called around 12pm to see if we can do a couples massage. Luckily, they had availability (I told my husband he was crazy for thinking we could find a couples massage same day). Today is his birthday so it was a special treat being able to do something we love together to celebrate. The place itself is beautiful. It is a very tranquil, inviting environment. The receptionist was friendly and did everything with a smile (yes, I know she was smiling under her mask). We had Jessica and Linda as our masseuses. They were great! I had a prenatal massage while my husband had a deep tissue massage. I have zero complaints. The room had peaceful music playing and I loved that our room was far from the reception area. They massaged us for the full hour and made us feel so relaxed. I highly recommend them. Oh and this place is deceiving in terms of size... it is huge inside and the room was the large couples massage room I've seen. P.s. they offer great specials for new customers and for your second visit. read more

I finally got a massage after Covid lockdown! I admit I was nervous. I decided to go to this spa again based on how clean they are. They have automatic hand sanitizers plus disposable masks available too! I did a 90 minute deep tissue with Mary. She was amazing. I just feel bad she had to undo all my knots on my back and neck. But I feel soooo much better! You have the option to have them do your massage with or without gloves. I was ok with her not wearing gloves as long as they washed their hands. Masks are still mandatory for everyone. I felt safe. read more

Origins is a really well run business with friendly and accommodating desk staff, and the most consistently awesome massage therapists I've encountered. Most area places have therapists that are hit or miss. Not Origins. The atmosphere is really calming and welcoming with nice tea, calming sounds and smells. I've started weight lifting again after taking a break for a few years and entering my 4th decade and need to relieve pain. A few of the great massage therapists: - Poon - deep tissue - very kind therapist, relaxing deep tissue massage, he can really get into the knots and work through them. Very relaxing as well. - Andy - great technical deep tissue massage - Ratda - fantastic traditional Thai massage. Stretches your body and loosens up stiff muscles. Would highly recommend. My wife and I have been members for many years now. read more

I had a great time at Origins Thai Spa Elite here in Clarendon. Aagii and Millie were helpful and the massage was exactly what I needed.

Treat yourself! I am a near 40 new mom that feels the tension and tightness of working at a desk, trying to remain physically active and toting around a 30 lb toddler on a daily basis. A traditional thai massage at Origins always makes me feel relaxed and rejuvenated. I recently visited for my birthday and had a 120 minute traditional thai with Poon. Poon was extremely talented and made me feel very comfortable. I wish I could see him weekly! If you're looking for something that will push you to release tension, this is it! BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!!! THEY WILL GET YOU IN THE DOOR AND THEN RIP YOU OFF! I would give no stars if possible! Had an expired gift card I didn't realize was expired for a Thai Massage that a friend passed along for me to use and I called and explained and they said I could use it. Then they called back to get a picture of it and still responded no problem, you can use it. Then they called to confirm the day before appointment and I asked again if it was all good and they said yes. I am done with the massage (which was great), and I am talking to the masseuse and he's explaining the membership and I am sold. I fill out all the paperwork and go to pay and I am told I owe $80 for the massage I just had -UMMMMM I had the gift card you said I could use ON THREE DIFFERENT OCASSIONS! I am in SHOCK! The nasty girl at the front desk (wish I remembered her name but I am trying to block it out!) tells me that I could use it for the VALUE of it and it had been a special when was purchased and it was only worth $59. WTH?! THREE conversations with them and NO ONE TOLD ME THIS! Clearly I ripped up my membership form and left. SO DUMB OF THEM! They were about to get a new member, and my husband was going to join too, and they lost out on that future revenue over $80 THEY NEVER TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY! It's a shame they have a good product/service, because they are AWFUL. read more

I have been going to Origins Thai Spa for over 3 years and find the service to be excellent! I go for massages and also for men's facials. Paula always takes great care with my facial and takes time to understand my skin and the treatment it needs for a good facial. I trust her completely! For massages, both Ken and Andy do a great job - they listen to my needs and I always leave feeling brand new after 90mins. Whether it is to relax, or to fix some back pain, they take time and care to really help me. I would also recommend the annual membership - not only is it a good deal, but it means you take your wellbeing seriously and have these treatments regularly - which I am sure we all deserve! Finally, the reception staff are always welcoming too , and take time to find you the most suitable appointments. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a couples massage for $159. The fine print did not indicate that the deal was not intended for two people, as it was described as a "couples massage." If I had known that I would be asked to pay double, I would not have bought the Groupon. When I requested to speak with a manager, the representative on the phone was unhelpful and claimed no manager was available that day. The customer service was poor, and there was a lack of transparency. I feel I wasted $159 due to their incompetence. Save yourself the trouble. I will be contacting my bank and Groupon as I did not receive the service either. read more

As a long time customer, I will no longer be going back to Origins Spa after my last experience. For the past year, I had previously done Thai massages, and worked with Ken, who is very good. I scheduled a Swedish massage on the phone. It was the worst massage I have had in more than 20 years of receiving massages. The therapist's fingernails were so long he was scratching me. When I said something, he adjusted his "technique" to rubbing circles around my body. Two days later, I am still in pain in my neck and shoulders from his work. He did not respond to the numerous attempts I made to express my discomfort. When I said complained to the receptionist afterwards, she said their "techniques" were unique and that she would forward my complaints to their manager, who has yet to contact me. read more

This is my favorite day spa in Arlington! After going through a traumatic event earlier this year, I decided to treat myself to a spa day. My cousin had given me a Spa Week/Spa Finder gift card which they gladly accepted (not many spas in the DMV area take them). I got a full body massage and a facial. Both services were fantastic! Afterward, they led me to the back and gave me a cup of tea. I put up my feet and chilled out until I felt ready to move again. While I was paying my bill at the reception, I overheard a couple of customers name each of their favorite massage therapists. It seems the place has big fans! A few months have passed since my spa day but I've been waiting for another opportunity to go back. It was a very relaxing yet memorable experience! read more

Origins Thai is a gorgeous spa facility. The staff have been welcoming on each visit. I've been twice now for the Thai-Euro massage, it's their equivalent of a Swedish massage. The massage might be harder than a traditional Swedish, however both masseuses have always asked if the pressure is okay multiple times. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and every time I visit I feel like I'm on vacation. Can't beat that. If you've never been definitely check their website before making an appointment, there are often discounts for first time visitors. It's true that parking validation is limited to members, however I have always been able to find free street parking close to the building. read more

I recently passed a licensing exam that's been five years in the making, so I felt like I should treat myself. I read some reviews and several mentioned Mary and the amazing job she does. I booked a 90 minute deep tissue massage on a Saturday at 3. There is a garage that's easy and cheap on weekends. The entry is very tranquil and mellow. The open waiting room is very spacious and comfortable. The front desk staffer was very nice and I was greeted by Mary slightly before three. Both of us wore masks the whole time. Mary asked where I wanted concentration to which I said my shoulders and back. She did not ignore other sore areas by any means. Her technique and her strength are incredible. I am not an expert in this area but my back and shoulders were very sore for 2 days after so I feel that means she probably did a good job! With tip, my service was $180ish which is definitely in the "treat" category for me but soooo worth it. I think I'll plan a 60 minute soon but, I'm telling you that if you can, spring for the extra 30 minutes and whatever you do, book with Mary! read more
