Food, people and prices are good. I can never leave out of there without my chicken wings that taste like I fried them in my kitchen myself.

I really wanted to love this place because my aunt, who is a big foodie, recommended it to me. The atmosphere was okay, and the employees were very pleasant and welcoming. The young lady recommended the beef and broccoli, but I decided to order the ribs and rice. Looking back, maybe I should have taken her advice! Unfortunately, the food was a major disappointment. The rice was extremely dry, and the ribs were very tough. I love ribs and rice, especially when the food is fresh, but these ribs tasted as though they had been cooked and then reheated or recooked. They definitely did not taste fresh. Unfortunately, I can only give this place 1 star, and that one star is strictly for the pleasant customer service. The food simply was not it. Horrible. Old asian guy worked there is an asshole and has 0 patient. They lost my food and told me someone else on uber picked it up and they couldnt help me and all I could do is call uber support. 0 help, 0 understanding, and entirely their fault. Ok so truth be told I've gone to every store in the shopping plaza this restaurant is in but never even thought of stepping in bc of the looks of it from the outside ... it wasn't until my friend RAVED about the food that I said let me look at reviews and then decided to give it a shot for take out and boy am I glad I did because the food is absolutely yummy Chinese-American cuisine! I ordered a bunch of different items to truly get a feel for the food and all were really tasty and well prepared with the chicken and broccoli lunch special with fried rice and egg drop wonton soup being my favorite! I said that I need to visit again and try other wok items because the flavors of the chicken and broccoli were truly vibrant! The shrimp toast, wings and egg rolls were also hitting too! Don't discount a four star rating, this joint is good. However, compared to Shanghai No. 2, the food here was just slightly less tastier (probably a bit healthier in a sense) as it was less greasy. However, the dumplings, wonton soup, and fried chicken with shrimp fried rice were all on point. I swear there's no such Chinese restaurants that provide such good value back in the Bay Area (outside of maybe SF). Every work trip I'll eat at one of these joints at least once. Ok so to start off I have never been a fan of traveling up north until recently for some reason. So for starters, my friend who's from there ordered all this wings split crispy no ends etc etc etc and I was like huh??? So my house fried rice left nothing to be desired. My vegetables were firm and my rice was tender and it had some flavor not just a quick toss with soy sauce. Because I'm me I had my duck sauce on deck and added a little just for GP and sheesh I wouldn't mind revisiting this for round two. My wings were crispy and well done the way I like them. Whatever all that extra my friend ordered, I'm not sure but I appreciate it. This sounds so simple to me as I'm reading back what I wrote but y'all the house fried rice and fried wings..... BOMB! The bbq ribs... mehhhh they were indeed tender but I like my sauce better so no harm done. Also, living in Atlanta, I'm beat over the head with Coke -- I was ELATED to order a Pepsi. I never understand the bad reviews I read from here. I've been going here for a year now and the food has been perfect every time. Even ordered takeout and there have been no mistakes. My usual: boneless spare ribs, steamed pork dumplings, and vegetable lo mein. The ribs are amazing, not too fatty, not dry at all. They're usually a bit charred but adds such great flavor. Pork dumplings are my absolute favorite (love the sauce), and lo mein is delicious. Lastly, the staff is always friendly, nice, and courteous. :) read more

I have a love / hate relationship with Chinese food. There's so much negative comments ( often times warranted ) on unsafe food preparation and practices but despite those comments I always find myself craving their food. I was in the area and decided to just give in to my cravings. I thought it was pricier than other Chinese food spots but I LOVED that they cleaned their shrimp. Today I had a taste for Chinese and ordered off uber eats it was terrible gar from my home so I order, chicken wings with house special rice meal and another order of chicken wings. Another piece of chicken was deformed it could've been due to various quality issues including disease which rendered totally inedible. Other pieces were extremely dry with stiff flesh as if it were fried numerous times. I pulled the chicken apart and it had no juiciest that you'd expect from fresh fried chicken. I ended up throwing it away, I couldn't trust any of it. The rice was not what I ordered, I ordered house special rice which has a combination of meals, my rice had old pieces of dry chicken and 2 shrimp. I will NEVER order from them again because the quality is dangerous. Cleanliness is paramount when ordering from a restaurant. I've been coming here for years. While i very much miss the buffet, the food is still very good compared to almost every Chinese food place in this area. I mean Bloomfield Nutley Montclair Belleville. It's not a chewy chicken that tastes like rubber or dry rice. Everything is tasty and a value for the price. They opened doors in 1981 with only 3 employees and has since grew to a neighborhood staple. They offer an express buffet at a reasonable price and you can also order fresh. I wasn't a fan of the wait time. I believe I was in there for about 20 -25 mins. My chicken wings were so good! Definitely worth another visit. I was extremely impressed with the portion sizes! The containers were packed to the max! My husband also said it was the best egg roll he ever had. We ordered the fried chicken wings with house special fried rice, veg lo mein, Singapore Mei fun, sweet and sour chicken, and beef with mushrooms. The other time I order take-out from them and had no major issues. Their garlic sauce is on the sweet side so I request to not add sugar since I'm sweet enough. My family has been goin here since the 90s and they still have some of the best chinese food in NJ. Today I had the general tso chicken and I it was ALL THAT AND A BAG OF CHIPS. The chicken was still crispy even while in the sauce and had a banging combination of sweet wit a slight kick of spice. I had it with beef fried rice which was delicious due to the generous portions of beef included in the rice. The broccoli was colossal and crisp. I had an order through Uber eats for the Kong pow chicken and realized later that I forgot to ask for no peanuts. This was a request for a person I was ordering the food for. This is a good local place for Chinese American food. The buffet is best if you order during lunch time or dinner time when you know that the food is fresh. The freshly made Chinese American food is delicious. Some of my favorites are the Shrimp with snow peas and Beef with snow peas. Their menu is limited to popular Chinese American dishes only which means that the ingredients are fresher. The place is clean with plenty of seating and parking.
