Looks like an old library card catalogue sort of (nice decor for toppings).

We came here on a Saturday morning and the line was to the door. Definitely a tourist hot spot. Not only was the line to the door but the actual dining area was packed. The line moved fast, we waited maybe 5-10 minutes for two hot drinks and an order of avocado toast. All delicious and made accurately. The line dissipated quickly but still no place to sit, standing room only with patrons waiting for items, so we took our stuff to go. The dining area is beautiful and modern, definitely a sweet hangout spot to enjoy, early mornings or weekdays when it's not the rush hour.

Long line at 7:30 and they open at 7! The line moves quickly and it was nice chatting with other "coffee people" as we waited. Service was friendly and efficient. We got one pour over with an Origin coffee, Las Delicias from Peru and a Sweater Weather latte with cardamom, cinnamon and local maple syrup.... delicious!!! People just kept coming in it was great to see this local business doing so well.

Great cold brew and very cute place! The line was long (almost out the door) when we got there, but they were very efficient behind the counter and got our cold brews right away. Would definitely consider coming back to try some of their food and sit down in there to enjoy the atmosphere.

We were road tripping and in need of a healthy option in Lake Placid. Admittedly there were slim pickings, but Origin was great!! Latte was good - Asked for unsweetened and still got honey which wasn't ideal. Avocado toast was *amazing*! The roasted red pepper spread was remarkable, and the bread was also super yummy. Would recommend highly if you're visiting the first time!!

Cortado at Origin Coffee, Lake Placid

Open early, I was here for Saturday morning coffee. After finding parking, the place was rather busy with a constant flow of customers. I enjoyed my cortado (excellent!) and worked out a plan of attack for Lake Placid on their wifi. Sitting at the counter is my recommendation so you can see into the kitchen and watch the baristas try to keep up. [Review 1595 of 2024 - 509 in New York - 22618 overall]

What a cute coffee shop! It was busy as we walked in which is a great sign. But the line moved quickly. They have sandwiches to order and baked goods in a case(we got there mid morning so not much left). I opted for their Sweater Weather Latte and got it iced. The drink consisted of local maple syrup, cardamon, cinnamon, espresso and steamed milk. This was a perfect drink for a fall day which it felt like as we left to head home. Friendly and efficient service. I can't wait to head back to try more items when we return next year for our yearly trip.

Delicious coffees & food. Service with smiles and nice quiet vibe. Avocado toast was tops. Headed back for another round today!

Origin Coffee helped me start my days off right during a recent conference I attended in Lake Placid. I thought for sure most places would be closed since it's in-between seasons. Thankfully Origin was open bright and early at 7AM. This is an excellent coffee shop/roaster who also offers their coffee VIA Kalita Wave/Pour Over, which is my preferred coffee brewing method. Awesome shop, friendly people and of course great coffee.

A popular cafe right in the middle of the Lake Placid town. It took about 30 mins for us to get to front of the line + get our food and coffee, but you can easily take your coffee to the mirror lake and enjoy it with the view. Ham and cheddar panini is tasty and I especially liked the apple slice that add some freshness to the sandwich.

We were getting a tire changed at the nearby Mobil, and decided to wait here with breakfast and coffee. It was very busy on a Monday afternoon and we waited in line for around 20 minutes but it was definitely worth it! We got their Vietnamese iced coffee and breakfast burritos. We sat at their sidewalk table, and people watched, it felt like small town summer magic. The staff were so friendly, and the space was large and inviting. Hope to return!

Good news is the pizza and beer are still good!…read more The complimentary salsa was rancid, although the waiter replaced it kindly...but then you start questioning what the rest of the meal will be like... The large $14 salad was not as large as they used to, be and unimpressive - there weren't many options.. The menu had only Mexican options, (except pizza and one burger with salsa and chips side after we just had that as a free app for 10 minutes - no fries!). We love Mexican but this was pretty limited and a bit skimpy portion-wise...there was no guacamole appetizer, sides were often salsa and chips, no ground beef option, although there was steak, pork, or chicken). Limited vegetarian options, which is weird for Mexican. The manager stopped by and when we commented on our disappointment that there was no guacamole appetizer he offered a side option- and then charged us $3 for a tiny portion of very limey and over mashed guac. This is not Desperados

The service was quick and the restaurant was clean and cute inside…read more I got the ramen with tofu, which was a big serving and overall good. I tried the chicken riggies which was good, but not a fan of the side vegetables that came with it. Got the calamari appetizer which was okay. Definitely recommend the peanut butter pie for desert (I don't even like peanut butter and this was delicious).

I'm so sad to leave a poor review, but there were multiple problems with my groups experience…read more Our server was attentive and friendly, however made multiple errors - they forgot an appetizer entirely, three entrees came out late, and a side was late and incorrect. Drinks were messed up and orders had to be repeated about 3 separate times. The restaurant was not busy, so I'm unsure how this could've happened. Some of the food was good - those who got the french dip sandwiches enjoyed it, as well as the wings. However, the black bean burger and beef stroganoff were average. It didn't blow us out of the water. The stroganoff had good flavor but was sitting in a pool of oil so that put some people off. I am visiting town, but unfortunately I would not come again if I return to Lake Placid due to the disorganization, errors, long wait for food and lack of food quality to make up for the prior problems.

We made waitlist reservations and they were pretty close so seating was an issue but they are really, really busy at peak times. For the place itself, I believe it's an old church? Conveniently located near hotels in Lake Placid. If you don't have a reservation you'll be waiting…read moreup to two hours or more as it is not a big restaurant. They do have a second floor dining area for large parties. English pub style. Food is relatively good. We are here 3 out of the 5 days we were in Lake Placid, mostly out of convenience. Service is okay, depending on who you get. They are super busy all the time and if your server isn't on point they will forget things. Their Ubu beer is the best beer there. The cranberry cider is pretty good as well. Shepards pie had very little meat/filling with a larger mashed potato ratio. Apple pie sounds great on paper but had little filling, leaving it super dry because it's baked as an individual personal pie. The whipped crème fraiche was delicious. Wings were nicely fried, crispy on outside and tender inside. Sourdough grilled cheese could've been better by using any other cheese besides Kraft singles. Clam chowder is superb. Beet salad was okay. Turkey burnt ends did not impress me and it's suppose to be their most popular dish. Chicken tenders were delicious. Fried fish was amazing! Huge piece of fish, served with tartar sauce and a side of incredible fries. Detroit style pizza is lackluster. The dough could've been cooked longer as it was underdone.
