Reasonably priced for the current climate. Ordered cheese and bacon omelet with homefries. The toast was a bit burned and they were apologetic and immediately remade. Also ordered breakfast burrito special (came with 2) and was very good filled with eggs, sausage, cheese , onions , peppers and potatoes. The owner waited on us and was extremely friendly. Would rate this zero stars if I could. Unfortunately I have never been in such an establishment the size of a trailer with maybe 10 tables and they still didn't even look our direction. We sat there for 20 minutes and they had yet to hand us a menu, so we got up and left. They kept looking our direction from afar and pointing at us but would service the table right next to us (several times) and STILL not look our way. Is it because we weren't locals? I don't understand. Just really disappointed with how poor the service was. Never walked out of a place before. Sad that a small Adirondack restaurant is where that changed for me, because I love supporting local businesses! read more

Every town should have a diner, a place with breakfast all day. This place is that. Why the name, Swiss whatever? No clue and I didn't ask. But this is a classic breakfast joint. Lots of local pictures, nice locals sitting and serving. What more do I want for breakfast? Simple good food. Pancakes, eggs and hash. I'll update as I eat here more often. read more

This breakfast spot was fast, friendly and reasonably priced. We came in for a bite on our way out of town before a hike. Let's start when you walk in. The first thing you see is the very friendly sign saying: "Wait to be seated!" No please. "No Musical Chairs!" "Check or Cash only!" Just the kind of greeting you want when you're on vacation. Spoiler alert: We walked out. It took them a few minutes to seat us and give us our menus. Very basic menu. Egg dishes, burgers, home fries. Not hard stuff. Not interesting stuff. Not even an eggs Benedict on the menu. Prices were fine, except everything was ala cart. Omelettes don't come with toast...or anything. Have to pay extra for it all. So, the prices aren't so average when you look at it that way. It took about seven minutes to get our order in, five minutes more for our coffee to come and then....we just waited. For about forty minutes. At that time we realized there were still several tables that had come before us that STILL hadn't been fed and we walked out. We did not have over an hour to spend at a DINER with no food in sight. AMAZING SERVICE! I wish we got their names. We walked in not knowing what to expect, but saw good reviews on here. Traveling with our pup and trying to get food is hard sometimes but the employees here didnt make us feel like a burden at all. Great find in Tupper lake! We loved breakfast so much the first time, we had to return later in the week! Kitschy and cute, the place is full of locals. Attentive service, excellent pancakes and great omelettes. Their homemade bread makes tasty toast and their hash browns are so flavorful. The first time we went was later in the morning and people started coming in asking if their mashed potatoes are ready. They were not yet and many of the locals were disappointed but agreed to have their homemade fries instead . Everyone was ordering special of the day which was chicken and biscuits and boy did they look good. On our next trip to Tupper, I have to try those mashed potatoes and the chicken and biscuits! read more

Was in Tupper Lake for a visit to the High Center on 5/12/18. Stopped here for lunch prior to the High Center visit. First it only takes cash so be prepared. Nice little restaurant. Menu limited to breakfast, salads, sandwiches, and a few dinners. Quite surprised, lunch was very good. I had tomato macaroni soup and salad, my husband had the same soup with a chef salad. One daughter had a roast beef with cheese on garlic toast with fries and my other daughter had a bacon cheese burger with fries. Everyone was pleased and enjoyed their choices. I received a light tan colored liquid resembling regular milk. She asked a table behind us, as she walked past two people who hadn't been sat yet, without acknowledging them, what the table would like to order. "We haven't gotten menus yet.", was the reply. We stopped in this restaurant at 1:40 to ask if it was too late to try to eat there.. (the sign said they closed at 2.) We were ignored for several minutes, and when I finally asked if we were too late, I was told , "well we close at 2." I said so does that mean yes, and she just shrugged at me and walked away. I would not have had any issue if she had just answered yes, but she was very passive-aggressive and rude! My cousins took me to the Swiss Kitchen while I was vacationing in Upstate New York, and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't feel too hot after a night of drinking the night before, so I didn't order the hot turkey sandwich that was recommended, instead settling on the club sandwich. On a hot summer day, I walked in a few years ago and asked if they could make an "ice coffee" for me. Great, local diner. Don't expect Sardi's, this is Tupper Lake. Service may be slow or not exactly bubbly if they are slammed, but the food is good, hot, and servings are hearty. If you take it for what it is, a local diner, you won't be disappointed. Also, cutest waitress in Tupper Lake! read more

Food was barely acceptable even for diner food. Scrambled eggs were not fresh and overcooked. Bacon not cooked enough and cold. You get the disappointing diner picture.
