We went for a late breakfast today and found a cute table up in the back. I ordered a breakfast sandwich on their buttermilk biscuit and absolutely loved it. My friend got his on focaccia and also loved it. I got an iced coffee with some vanilla syrup and he ordered the sweater weather latte and he said it was the best latte he's ever had. This coffee shop had seating in the front and back and a table or two outside on the sidewalk. The sunlight poured in through the front window - a quintessential coffee shop warmth. The lattes came in large cups (and offered to-go cups as well). There were light breakfast options - all of which were good. I especially liked the ginger lemon scone. read more

We checked our Origin Coffee during our day in Saranac Lake. When we got there, there was a large line out the door. It seemed to be moving, so we waited in it. The whole time we were at the restaurant, the line was persistent! We got a sweater weather latte, the breakfast burrito, and the biscuit sandwich. The latte was truly amazing, one of the best we've had in a long time. The breakfast burrito was similarly incredible (likely the best we've had on the east coast!). The biscuit fell a bit flat, but wasn't bad at all. I see why this place is highly rated, huge fan! read more

Came here for coffee before our snow activity for the day. I got the sweater weather latte. It had maple, cinnamon, cardamon. It was a perfect warm drink for winter (or anytime really). sweet but not too sweet. Beautiful latte art as well. My fiance got the congo pour over. He said it was bold and delicious. Cute little place with a few tables. We dined in with our coffees and they brought them out in mugs. It wasn't crowded for 845am on a Saturday. Most people who came in seemed to be grab and go. A delightful coffee shop in the heart of Saranac Lake, Origin excels because it combines cheerful ambiance with quality food and drinks. Their oat matcha honey latte is among the better matchas I've ever had, and their vegan breakfast sandwich is good. My only complaint is that the vegan sandwich is only vegan if you remove mayo and cheese -- just take it all the way and start carrying vegan versions of those both! Their breads were very good; my sandwich was on sourdough, and my mom's had focaccia. They were fresh and not dry in the slightest. I appreciated how Origin had a couple of levels and diverse types of seating. The baristas were cool and knew what was up. They use Oatly. I can't say enough good things. read more

I ordered a cup of hot coffee and the avocado toast. The coffee was good, but the avocado toast was a pretty small portion for the price you pay. The ambiance is very nice! The service however was lackadaisical. I gave them a tip when I ordered my food and when I was done with my plate I cleaned my table and brought my plate to the counter and thanked them for the food... only for them to rudely point at the bin customers are supposed to put the plates. Really cute spot for some coffee/lattes and breakfast foods. I went to both locations and they were both so cozy. The staff were all attentive and nice. I got: -?the breakfast sandwich: 2 fried eggs, avocado, aged cheddar on house-made focaccia bread($6) +$2 with bacon at the Saranac location -the pumpkin spice latte at the lake placid location. I would definitely recommend the breakfast sandwich. The homemade focaccia bread is soooo good. The pumpkin spice latte was okay. I wish there was more cinnamon in it but they have so many different coffees. I have to come back again to try the different ones! read more

I have been to the Lake Placid location although just for coffee, but the menu looked amazing. I stopped at the Saranac Lake location on my way out of town and boy, was I not disappointed. The staff could not have been nicer and the food and drinks were out of this world. Not a lot of places have a good decaf coffee selection but whatever they were serving (I think it might've been Onyx coffee) was wonderful. I also got the breakfast sandwich on a flaky biscuit and that is a must have. I got the bacon as an add-on. Also got the standard breakfast sandwich and two orders of toast which is some kind of Artisanal sourdough, and let me tell you I've never had toast so good. Next time I am in Saranac Lake I will be stopping by again. read more

I like that this place is a small business and I love coming here in the winter months for the ambiance. The service is really good and the food/drink tastes great- however, it takes forever in the summer months. Almost 30 minutes for a drink is a little crazy IMO- especially when I ordered ahead. I get that there are some things out of their control, but more than 1 barista would definitely help the crazy wait times. read more

We tried Origin Coffee based on the incredible reviews but were sadly a bit let down! The cafe is located in a cute spot on the main drag in town and has a nice menu of standard drinks + some of their own creations. We got our order to go. We received our drinks pretty quickly, but our food took a while longer. The reason for our disappointment was our order. The breakfast sandwiches we ordered had no sauce or anything to tie the ingredients together, so they tasted quite dry and bland. And, although the coffees were decent overall, they put way too much of of the flavoring in our latte. This place definitely has potential--and I wavered on whether to give 3 or 4 stars--but overall it didn't quite live up to the other reviews. read more

where do I start? First of all they were so polite. And they had almond milk! I was just going to get a regular latte, til I saw the Rose Cardamom Latte and it's great! Plus they have GF options. They're not listed on the menu, so you have to ask. I got a beautiful, tasty latte and a GF Cuban. This is a win! Also they have wifi and were very welcoming when I said I needed to do work. They made sure I had a table large (and quiet) enough for me to eat, drink and do work. This whole place is such a treat! Their pastries look tasty too!
