It's been a while since our last visit. Raybrook Brewery didn't disappoint. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. We started with a couple of their Brews and they were awesome. I had the Tomato/Basil soup which was perfect on a cold Adirondack day. For lunch i had their Chicken Fingers and my Wife had their Tuscan Eggplant sandwich. Both were delicious. Loved this place! Accommodating to my dog, who's half pit bull, right outside by the door. The staff was super friendly, one of the ladies even came to pet my dog & compare bites about their ages, etc. Food. Hubby had wings which were crispy & up to his standards. I had the Brewtine. YUM YUM YUM. A simple dish that was just so great with my hefeweizen on tap. Everyone there was either on a bike or with several people, enjoying the weather & chill. The beer on tap is delicious. The wings were great. They weren't over battered. The fish and chips are crispy and the perfect golden color you expect. When they opened the beer was "ok". They have gotten much better that making beer. I am a fan of porter, stout and ipa. I know that pretty weird but , well it's just the way it is. But it means I have opinions on all and find them all week worth drinking here. As you would hope, the food is good as well. I like the wings. This isn't fancy. It just good food. The wait staff is very friendly and they were very attentive today. We have come with children, that is completely OK with RBB. They welcome kids. They just won't serve them beer. Lol read more

Beer was good. I love the outside porch and bag play area. It's great for the kids! They also have bubbles upon request. Just ask. The free popcorn was also a hit with my family. I ordered a flight of 6. Two of the flavors were phenomenal. Two were pretty good and 2 were just... typical. The kids menu had all the right items including a fluff/banana/PB&J. It's a great order for any sweet tooth... it does come with fruit tomtry to make it a bit balanced. The homemade BBQ sauce on the wings were a must! Now the areas of improvement: the charcuterie board needed crackers and a better array of cheeses. The meats were not worth eating. We ended up leaving them on the board. The scallop fritters tasted kind of fishy, which is disappointing because it was the item we heard was a staple. Overall I'd give Ray Brook at 4 for beer selection and a family friendly environment but 3 for food. So averaging and rounding up... a 4 star. It's a great location if you're looking to sit outside and enjoy a drink with some complementary popcorn. read more

A nice little brew pub located between Saranac Lake and Lake Placid. I really liked the beers I tried here. I did a flight containing two sours, a stout (Dead Forest Stout), and an amber ale (Many Leather-bound Books Ale.....get the reference?) and was impressed with all. Visited Ray Brook Brewhouse recently with a friend. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the very tasty Moon On the Lake IPA on nitro. Bartender and staff are helpful and super friendly. The food is well made, fresh, and reasonably priced. We tried a chicken pesto flatbread and mushroom soup. Both were excellent! Will be back in the warmer weather. read more

We came in just before 5 on a super cold Friday. For awhile we were the only ones in there until two other tables showed up. Overall, I think in enjoyed the ambience and the cheery disposition of our server more than anything. Clean wood interior, cool industrial look, Christian/Country music playing/just a nice chill vibe. But dude was it cold in there. We are fighting to keep our cabin at 60 for our vacation week. We eat out to have an hour of warmth lol didn't get it here. The Brewtine (poutine) was a large serving, piping hot and the gravy was thick and beefy and the curds were big. The soup of the day was cream of mushroom and it was a generous crock, obviously homemade, and not overly salted. Good job. I got the mahi tuna sandwich. It was fine. Kinda thought the tuna was going to be warm. It wasn't but it was fine. Could have been seasoned more. Guys. Always lightly toast a bun. Picky got the ridiculously named Samsquanch (you know how I am with stupid names on menus). It was a Philly cheese steak. The onions and peppers were atrociously chopped and barely steamed but the meat was quality. The baked beans on both were good. I tasted pineapple juice in them. Also confused why they weren't hot. They were cold. Not warm, not tepid. Cold. Anyway, 2 waters, 1 soup, 1 huge app, 2 entrees, $51 before tip. I'd give them another chance because they seemed so sweet. read more

Very chill spot with great service (for the times & all things covid considered). The session beer, wish I could remember the name, has the word lake in it was excellent. Great food. But rocky service. Asked for a table for a group of 11. They said we couldn't have it because it could only fit 8. But four of our folks were babies/toddlers. We were really nice but it was oddly inflexible. We also asked if we could sit outside at a large table and they said no because it had rained earlier. Could we order food to go and then sit out there so then they didn't have to serve outside? Again, no. They said it would be a 30minute wait and they would split up our party. So we waited. In the end they sat us all together at one table with no comment about how they had changed their minds. We fit very comfortably. Then they couldn't split checks. Okay. But they can split between multiple cards. Ended up with a long wait in the end because of they had an issue doing it. Also I noticed they had coloring books but they never offered them to our kiddos. The food was really very good. And it came out super fast which we really appreciated. But they were just oddly inflexible and leaning towards no with all simple requests and that just makes for a weird vibe. The chicken tenders were excellent. Be aware that their menu changed significantly from previous menu photos--check the new one on their site! There were at least 5 dishes I was interested in from the initial menu: the PPG (pear prosciutto goat cheese) flatbread, the scallop verde flatbread, the Hawaiian flatbread, the scallop fritters, and the scallop sandwich. Since we were arriving within the last half hour that the kitchen was open, we called ahead of time to order so that they would have more time to prepare. (Generally I try to avoid arriving in the last hour but this was not my decision.) On the phone, I asked if the menu photos on Yelp were current, and the waiter told me no and that the menu went through a significant revision this year (I believe he mentioned a change in management, but I'm not sure). I said okay and then asked him about several of these items, all of which they did not have anymore, and then he stopped me to say "I have other things to do right now. Can you just order after you get here?" I felt kind of embarrassed by that remark, but I assumed the restaurant was very busy and agreed to order later. When we arrived 10 minutes later, however, there were several staff supervising two tables with a total of 7 patrons, so I'm really not sure why he seemed annoyed with a short phone call (at most 2 minutes). Wanting to be agreeable, I just ordered the chicken pesto flatbread without asking more questions, which I assumed would be a safe option. Unfortunately, though it looked nice, the flavor palette was very disappointing. Both the pesto and the chicken were very tasteless (the chicken had no spices on it, no marinade, and a watery texture) so the balsamic glaze was the main flavor. I shared a bit of my food with other members of my party who thought it looked good, but all three of us agreed after tasting it that the meal was unsatisfying. I have only a little room to criticize here because I did not make the staff aware of my dissatisfaction and finished everything without complaint or comment. After our phone exchange, and considering that they were accommodating enough to tell us we were welcome to arrive at 7:30, I did not feel comfortable asking for any changes to the meal. My dining experience was 2 stars because I was uncomfortable around the waiter after his annoyance and also did not enjoy my meal, but I am rating a fairer 3 stars because my companions enjoyed their food more than myself and I did not give the staff the opportunity to offer any changes to my meal. read more

We stopped by around 3 pm on a Tuesday and enjoyed a few brews and an order of scallop fritters on the deck. We enjoyed it all. The fritters made my husband long for Key West and the beers were each unique. My number one requirement in a brew pub is that the beers are not run-of-the-mill, and these were not. I tried the hefe (my least favorite), IPA, Between 2 Worlds, and summer stout. The stout had a fantastic smokey flavor that was easy to drink on a warm day. We were able to sit outside and relax. All of the employees were friendly. I am looking forward to another visit to see how they add to the interior. We have been to all of the breweries within an hour of Ray Brook, and this brewhouse measures up. read more

Alright...I KNOW it's their first official opening--but they've had soft openings! The kitchen needs to get it together! It took ~35 minutes after everyone else was fed to get WINGS out! Ordered at the same time! Y'all wings go into the fryer...this is NOT rocket science. The review of the wings, "I've had better!" One of of crew ordered the falafel...super dry and missing the mint in the mix. She ate all three patties because she was truly hungry...but the FRIES were on point. I ordered off the kids' menu--Somewhere Over the Rainbow noodles--because my 2yo friend's Mac n Cheese looked EPIC!!! I tried two beers...and found I did not really enjoy them separately...but MIXED...OMG! If you like a little sweet and easy drinking, I highly recommend you mix 1/2 & 1/2 Paradis sur Terre and Wild Integrity! Seriously--you cannot go wrong!!! Our Server loves the Wild Integrity and is really excited to try my mix as soon as her shift is over. This combo is a GREAT Summer Sipper! My Wife had the stout--she said it is good, easily drinkable!!! My friend says the Clink IPA is easy to drink. Okay...I'll give them a little leeway as it is DAY ONE...but Kitchen...you need to step it up. Also--BATHROOM REVIEW: Soap Dispense and Towels are not Accessible to someone using a wheelchair. However, the lighting is good; gender neutral spaces is better; good TP which is a great amenity! This great new (spring 2019) pub and brewery is a welcomed addition. Their beers are great and offer something for everyone. We've made two trips and tried a few different things. My favorite beer is Wild Integrity. The poutine (Brewtine) (with tater tots to better absorb sauce) is phenomenal and an absolute must. The wings (Asian) were delicious. Our meals have been good. There is also a great children's menu with generous portions at reasonable rates. They have outside seating on their deck, plus an inside bar to grab a drink while you wait. Early dinner on a Tuesday in early September. Austin our waiter was excellent: Upbeat, friendly, and attentive. Pre-Prohibition Porter and Dead Forest Stout beers were really good (preference to the porter). Poutine ("Brewtine") was some of the best we've had. I had their burger which was great and my wife had the chicken fingers which she loved and were more than enough for a meal. We arrived here because a NYS DEC officer working near Fish Creek Ponds Campground recommended the place, and the reviews we found online were also great. The place did not disappoint. Phenomenally better than the place directly across the street that seems to draw lots of attention (for no good reason we can discern). Next time we're in the Lake Placid/Saranac Lake region, we will absolutely be back here! read more

I've been here twice in the past week - both times Ashley was our server and she was friendly and attentive. The first time I went was midweek with my elderly uncle who asked for decaf coffee. I almost plotzed. They rolled with it, brewing him a pot, getting him milk for it, I fell in love then. Food both times was outstanding. Flatbreads done well and generously portioned; the Brewtine was so good I brought my husband back this weekend to try it with a flight - beer was really good. The Art Gar-Dunkel was really smooth and complex and the apricot wheat was also really nice. Seating well spaced for the Covid conscious and outdoor seating was available (with cornhole)! read more
