Looks like an old library card catalogue sort of (nice decor for toppings).

We came here on a Saturday morning and the line was to the door. Definitely a tourist hot spot. Not only was the line to the door but the actual dining area was packed. The line moved fast, we waited maybe 5-10 minutes for two hot drinks and an order of avocado toast. All delicious and made accurately. The line dissipated quickly but still no place to sit, standing room only with patrons waiting for items, so we took our stuff to go. The dining area is beautiful and modern, definitely a sweet hangout spot to enjoy, early mornings or weekdays when it's not the rush hour.

Long line at 7:30 and they open at 7! The line moves quickly and it was nice chatting with other "coffee people" as we waited. Service was friendly and efficient. We got one pour over with an Origin coffee, Las Delicias from Peru and a Sweater Weather latte with cardamom, cinnamon and local maple syrup.... delicious!!! People just kept coming in it was great to see this local business doing so well.

Great cold brew and very cute place! The line was long (almost out the door) when we got there, but they were very efficient behind the counter and got our cold brews right away. Would definitely consider coming back to try some of their food and sit down in there to enjoy the atmosphere.

We were road tripping and in need of a healthy option in Lake Placid. Admittedly there were slim pickings, but Origin was great!! Latte was good - Asked for unsweetened and still got honey which wasn't ideal. Avocado toast was *amazing*! The roasted red pepper spread was remarkable, and the bread was also super yummy. Would recommend highly if you're visiting the first time!!

Open early, I was here for Saturday morning coffee. After finding parking, the place was rather busy with a constant flow of customers. I enjoyed my cortado (excellent!) and worked out a plan of attack for Lake Placid on their wifi. Sitting at the counter is my recommendation so you can see into the kitchen and watch the baristas try to keep up. [Review 1595 of 2024 - 509 in New York - 22618 overall]

What a cute coffee shop! It was busy as we walked in which is a great sign. But the line moved quickly. They have sandwiches to order and baked goods in a case(we got there mid morning so not much left). I opted for their Sweater Weather Latte and got it iced. The drink consisted of local maple syrup, cardamon, cinnamon, espresso and steamed milk. This was a perfect drink for a fall day which it felt like as we left to head home. Friendly and efficient service. I can't wait to head back to try more items when we return next year for our yearly trip.

Coffee was absolutely incredible!! Iced drinks come in these super cute mason jars! We did iced lattes with maple syrup and the maple syrup cold foam! Will absolutely be coming back soon

Origin Coffee helped me start my days off right during a recent conference I attended in Lake Placid. I thought for sure most places would be closed since it's in-between seasons. Thankfully Origin was open bright and early at 7AM. This is an excellent coffee shop/roaster who also offers their coffee VIA Kalita Wave/Pour Over, which is my preferred coffee brewing method. Awesome shop, friendly people and of course great coffee.

The food was good, the service as well. And moderately priced for the area. My wife loved the granola!

Capisce Coffee & Espresso Bar: A Lake Placid Essential…read more If you're looking for a coffee experience that matches the beauty of the Adirondacks, Capisce Coffee & Espresso Bar is a must-visit. From the welcoming "a place upstate" Adirondack chair out front to the cozy, shingle-sided exterior, this spot perfectly captures that rustic, high-peaks aesthetic. But it's the quality of the brew that truly sets it apart. The Espresso The espresso at Capisce is a masterclass in balance. It's rich and full-bodied with a velvety crema that hints at the care put into every pull. You won't find any bitterness here--just a smooth, complex shot that serves as the perfect foundation for their signature drinks. The Lattes Whether you need to warm up after a chilly morning at the lake or cool down after a mountain bike ride, their lattes are top-tier: Hot Lattes: The milk is steamed to a perfect micro-foam consistency--silky, sweet, and light. It blends beautifully with the espresso, creating a comforting drink that feels as artisanal as the surroundings. Iced Lattes: These are exceptionally refreshing. They manage to keep the espresso flavor front and center without letting the milk or ice wash it out. It's the ideal companion for a sunny afternoon on the patio. The Atmosphere There is something uniquely relaxing about grabbing a drink and sitting among the trees and rocks outside this cabin-style shop. It's clearly a favorite for locals and travelers alike, and for good reason--the "upstate" vibe is genuine, and the coffee is world-class. The service is full of happiness. Final Verdict: If you are in the Lake Placid area and take your caffeine seriously, Capisce is the place to be.

The employees were friendly, and our stuff came out fast. I got an iced latte with maple syrup and soy milk, my boyfriend got a salted caramel iced latte with vanilla cold foam, and my friend got a drip coffee. The coffee was so good! The only reason I'm not leaving 5 stars is because my friend got the savory cheese twist and it tasted stale, dry and not like cheese :( but the quiche was very good he said. Overall I'd definitely come back for more lattes! I'm happy to have tried this on a trip to Lake Placid.

We were in the mood for lunch and they were only serving breakfast that Sunday. So, we opted for the most lunch-ish thing available that wasn't too heavy. Bagels and cream cheese. They were perfectly toasted and there was plenty of spreadable cream cheese. It made for a perfect light lunch. I don't eat eggs, so it did limit my options. If you do eat eggs, their breakfast dishes with eggs look amazing. Of course, we tried the coffee. It was very good and we loved the mugs. The place is rustic-charming. The service was good. It's a busy place. We loved the regulars who stopped in and didn't even need to say what they wanted. The servers already knew. The service is good but slow. Not sure if that's because they were busy or if they're just not the type to rush things. The bathrooms are clean. There is an up-charge for credit cards. It's hard to resist buying mugs and coffee to take home. The cookies were so hard to resist we bought some to keep us snack-happy on our travels. Definitely a good place to stop.

While I haven't had the opportunity to try the entire menu just yet, I can say confidently the home fries live up to the hype. Also looking at their seasonal drinks my wife and I knew we needed to stop in. Plenty of street parking available right nearby so unless they are super busy you should be good. Once you walk in they had a board sign with all the seasonal specials. It was quite a large space with a good amount of seating with some more comfy seating like the couch and then plenty of tables too. Near where you order they have a baked good display with the daily offerings from a I suspect local bakery. They do appear to offer breakfast sandwiches but only on the weekend. Baked goods wise my wife grabbed a blueberry muffin and I grabbed some sort of apple cinnamon roll. Drink wise my wife got their Pumpkin S'more Steamer and I got the Loganberry Cobbler Cold Brew. My cinnamon roll was delicious, while my wife's muffin was not that great and didn't taste that fresh unfortunately. Drink wise both were phenomenal! My wife's even came topped with a homemade marshmallow and my had a great amount of flavor of a fruit that I am not use to seeing (popular in this area though and I can see why). Besides seasonal they also have all the drinks you'd expect from a coffee shop. Absolute no brainer to stop here if you are from the Potsdam area or visiting or even traveling through.
