I have had lunch here a few times and the food was always okay. We went this past week and the service was terrible. We were the second table and we had to ask someone to get our waitress. The owner of this establishment delivered the wrong order to our home. When he realized his error, he attempted to give us back our original order he had already delivered to someone else. He suggested that we eat the food that had already been touched by other people. Providing people with food that has been already touched by someone else is a major Health Code violation. He even had the gall to try and charge us for the food. Moreover, he even asked that we give him back the other order, which we had already started to eat, so he could give that food to the other people. I will be reporting this establishment to the City Health Inspector. Needless to say, I will never order from here or set foot in this estabishment again. read more

I'm one of those people who has to be very comfortable with a Chinese restaurant to order from them frequently, and I can't stop eating here! I usually only have simple meals because I have a lot of food allergies, so I can't comment on much, but I have never been upset with what I have ordered. Their fried rice is the best I have ever had, and I don't believe they put mushrooms in it, which makes me extremely happy. Their teriyaki chicken is great as well. They have orders ready fast, their delivery service is very handy. My only complaint is that their prices seem a little high to me....this is the most expensive Chinese place I have eaten at before. Had a bad experience with the food quality here. My friends ordered a tuna roll and scorpion bowl, which were fine. The hunan beef and chicken and broccoli dishes were terrible. Heavy, sugary sauces and way too much grease. There were pieces of chicken cartilage in one of the boneless chicken wings. You get the picture. We regretted spending our money here. This "nugget" of a restaurant features delicious meals. My favorite is the Walnut Shrimp, but you need to ask for extra sauce and steamed rice to make it complete. We go there quite often. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are healthy. They don't skimp on the service either. The waiters and waitresses are very personable and they try to please the customer. Go in and enjoy relaxing music while you eat the best Chinese in the area. You will be glad you did. read more

Thank goodness for a sushi place above the General Sullivan bridge. The OD is always fresh, well prepared, and perfect. I like the variety of their rolls, the prices of them, and the fact that they make their hand rolls so well! I frequently get take out, and make sure you check your order when you do. Have them repeat it back to you, and check the slip on the bag when you pick it up for accuracy. They do deliver - which there have been days I was VERY thankful for. The wait is FOREVER - at least an hour. So most of the time, it's better to suck it up and just go pick it up. But if you're in no rush, take advantage! Frank (the owner) is a friendly, litttle old man who remembers his clients and regulars and treats them very well. For non-sushi, I see the portions of classic Chinese dishes are large. I cannnot speak to taste. I do know, from a regular, that recently they changed chefs or recipes of the Kung Pao Chicken (this is June 2012). If I could give zero stars I would. This place is terrible. Not only when you dine in but when you try to get delivery. Last time I ordered delivery I was 45 minutes late to work because they way under quoted my time. My food was cold. Just called to get delivery, mind you there is a snow storm right now but I live .6 miles away. The woman who answered the phone said "the delivery guy doesn't feel like going out, the roads are bad" shouldn't you have a 4wd car if you do delivery?? This was my last of MANY bad experiences with this place and even though I am a local I do not support this business any longer and do not recommended it to any new Dover residents. Been here two times. Good location and decent food. Not the best but good. Parking can be a problem in rush hours as it is in downtown.

We stopped to peek into Oriental Delight on Central Ave in Dover (436) and to say we were surprised is an understatement. A large sushi bar with new sushi cases and many bar seats and tables is to the left of the entrance (to the right is the Chinese restaurant area). The cases were stocked with many types of fish. The sushi chef greeted us warmly and immediately offered to answer any questions. We looked through the fairly creative sushi menu-finding conventional (Hamachi, yellowtail) as well as new rolls (Futomaki Special, eel, avocado, cucumber, gourd, burdock root, oshinko, inari, and tobiko). The sushi chef is happy to take requests and told us that many of their specials are actually the result of people's special requests that became popular with other diners-social sushi! The sushi was fantastic, fresh and tasty. The atmosphere was also great. This sushi spot is not too be missed if you happen to be passing near Dover, NH. read more

Oriental Delight is one of my daughter-in-law's favorite Dover restaurants! Since my husband and I were having dinner she, our son and granddaughter, they chose the restaurant. All of our take-out was good -- crab rangoons, chicken lo mein (although I'm used to flat noodles, not round ones, and there could have been more "stuff"), chicken fingers, egg rolls, and beef teriyaki. read more

I've been here several times and this place is great! I love the general gao's chicken combo platter with pork fried rice and chicken fingers. The staff is really nice, especially this one waiter we have every single time we go there. The drinks are really strong here which can be a bad thing, or in my case, a good thing (obviously depends on preference). This place has the best sushi and food around! No one even comes close to the level of quality that they put out every time. My friends and I have eaten here several times and we are always so pleased with everything we order. The sushi chefs are excellent and so nice! I would recommend this place to anyone. They have the best Chinese food and sushi in Dover, but that's not saying a whole lot since the rest of the Chinese restaurants are pretty atrocious. I like their chicken and broccoli, egg rolls, crab rangoons and spicy tuna rolls. Don't bother getting delivery or take-out because they don't give you enough food for the price. Another tip: don't you dare ask for two spicy sushi rolls at lunch. The sushi lunch combo indicates only ONE spicy roll and they stick to this, hardcore. I asked for TWO spicy tuna rolls and said I'd pay whatever up-charge there was. This was not allowed, however much I attempted to advocate for myself. I asked the waitress to please explain the rationale but she couldn't. She just said "They won't do it." Kind of bizarre and not very customer friendly. read more

Ordered pickup and was told 10 minutes, I showed up in 30 and told it would be a few minutes after watching the lady go through credit card slips for 5 minutes I mentioned that I called it in 35 minutes earlier and she said oh I'll check on it, 2 minutes later she went out back and came back quickly with a stack of take out orders. This place is constantly messing up orders. On top of that I have found disgusting things in my food. When calling to complain, most places will apologize and do what they can to fix the situation. Not them! They'd act like I was asking for something once I got my food that I didn't ask for when ordering, which was never the case. I remember repeating myself three times, and having the order read back to me in detail, only for the order to have several things wrong with it. Then, since I am guilty of continuing to order because when orders are right, the food, is enjoyable (when there is no non-food items 'accidentally' in there), after years of ordering the final straw for them, was complaining about an incorrect order and asking for my money back. I was tired of making myself abundantly clear, and not getting what I ordered, what can I do? There was NOTHING I could say or do to get my order right. So, I said I'll return the food for a refund, or I'll never order again. I reached an agreement with the so-called owner(who acts friendly but I don't think he likes Americans(just our money)), but then they refused to deliver to us any longer. To be clear, they stopped delivering to us because we complained about THEM screwing up too many times, and they got tired of making two trips here to get the order complete, as I placed it. In their eyes, I should pay full price to get 2/3s of what I paid for, and never mention it. I don't know if it's their culture, but if you are in America and start a business, especially in the food industry, the customers needs should be a bigger consideration. They said we can come pick up our food or order in, but they won't deliver because they can't be bothered to make the order correctly in the first place. I'd say about 3 out of 10 orders didn't have problems. On top of that, half the time, the food itself seemed like it was made the night before, and reheated. So 8 or 9 times out of 10, the order was either bad quality or not what was ordered. If they have the same track record with others, I don't know how they're still in business, and don't expect them to remain, unless they pull a 180, and actually treat customers with respect, and maybe realize that if they spend quite a bit of money over time, that maybe you should value them. Plus, maybe fixing YOUR mistakes would be better for business overall. read more

New to the area, my girl and I phoned in a large order to pick up. Big bag full of food, so I just peeked in and left. Got home...NO RICE. How does a Chinese restaurant forget the rice? DISHONEST owner!!! We ordered take and when we got home it was not what we ordered. It was 30 minutes round trip so returning it was not an option. Everyone makes mistakes but it's how you handle it that matters most. We called and spoke to the owner who promised to credit our credit card. We checked a week later and NO CREDIT. We called again and this time we were promised a gift certificate. 10 days later, NO GIFT CERTIFICATE. The owner obviously does not respect or appreciate our business and thinks it's OK to lie repeatedly in hopes that we give up and go away. We have and we will NEVER dine or order there again. So for a lousy $8.95, the owner has earned a lifetime of bad reviews from us. read more

The service here in never great, but the sushi is decent and one of the only places to grab it in Dover. My friend and I went in last Friday night to grab some sushi for dinner, and were told there would a "long" wait and after the girl behind the counter stumbled over her words for a bit she ended up saying 15 minutes. Fine, no problem, busy Friday night - it's cool. So the 3 larger parties before us got seated quickly so my friend and I grabbed the seats directly in front of the woman behind the counter. After continuing to wait, three more parties came in and got seated before us! First one...it's gotta be an accident. So I went to go up to the girl and the next party got seated ahead of us...while the girl who was on the phone completely ignoring me and wouldn't even so much as look up at me. Then the third party got seated and we walked out after having waited over a half hour. Never have had such bad service before even getting a table. The foods okay here, nothing special...and the service blows. I doubt Ill ever be back. read more

I love Oriental Delight. Ask me what my favorite place to go in town is... bar or restaurant... it's still OD. But, tonight. We dealt with some lunatics who clearly own the bar. Apparently, the customer is not only right, but they physically own the bar seats. They can come in, tell the bar tender (RESTAURANT EMPLOYEE) that their "reserved signs" aren't valid... throw them on the ground... and take the originally reserved seats. Bar tender gives them the benefit of the doubt and takes two less desirable seats and places the reserve signs on those. Then, when the entitled shithead customer's friends show up and stand behind them for a while, that MUST make them entitled to the two newly reserved seats. OBVIOUSLY. The people who the seats were reserved for show up, take the seats, entitled asshole's friends pitch a fit, pretend to get physical but hide behind their girlfriends with a free shot in their face. It's your bar, tell people that are wrong to beat it. Be real. Don't change. Enjoy the new ASIA bar manager, no more FUN! read more
