I was genuinely not expecting much from my visit to Orient Express, but I was delighted by what I found. My partner and I enjoyed some really flavorful General Tso's chicken, as well as green bean and beef stir fry, and some plump and juicy pork dumplings. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is in an industrial, slightly sketchy part of town. However, the real benefit is there is TONS of parking in the giant parking lot. It's not well-lighted, and there are a lot of potholes, so do be careful walking to the entrance at night. The entire restuarant is comprised of decommissioned train cars, including one that was part of Roosevelt's famous whistlestop train tour! Everything is a little rough around the edges, but that is part of the appeal. The seats were comfortable, the dining cars are extremely spacious, and there's just something so undeniably enjoyable about having dinner on a train. I highly suggest checking Orient Express out, even if it's just for a photo opp. The bright yellow train cars are hard to miss!

I was nearly deterred by the reviews on Yelp and Google, but coming to Orient Express was a great experience. My frisbee team stopped by late on a Sunday night after a game, and the host welcomed us and put us in the karaoke room! It smelled a bit like smoke, but that smell slowly disappeared as the food came out. My table ordered the Salt and Pepper Tofu, Seafood Noodles, HK Fried Rice, Egg Drop Soup, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Eggplant. The food was honestly great. They nailed the HK Fried Rice and the Salt and Pepper Tofu. The portions were generally pretty big (except for the Shrimp) and none of us left hungry. Our waitress was also really nice and brought out so many bowls and plates once she saw we were doing a family-style meal. The vibes seem a little off from the outside since it's in a quiet area and the old train car gives spooky vibes, but it's great once you step inside. There's also plenty of parking! I really recommend stopping by and trying out this place.

    Tasty and affordable.

Great portions. Fast service. In the middle of nowhere. But good food. The Thai peanut sauce had a kick. Not used to the curry in it. But it got better as you go. The rolls themselves had too much shredded lettuce and mung beans sprout. Still worth a try. BBQ Pork Fried Rice is always a favorite. General Tso's Chicken is tasty, but a little stringy. Smaller pieces would help. They are ginormous pieces. But still tasty. Same for BBQ pork. Restaurant style... Cabooses? Anyhow, a bit excessive, but a unique dive.

Our go to dishes: stir fried rice noodle with beef, honey walnut prawns and orange chicken.

The old Andy's Diner was a familiar place, but now it has been Orient Express for such a long time I am beginning to forget what I used to eat there. Now I look forward to consistent Chinese food, delicious won ton soup, great orange chicken, honey walnut prawns and stir fried rice noodle with beef. Love that it also has a full bar and you can choose to sit in one of the cars far enough away from the bar to avoid the noise. Separate rooms are also available if you are looking for a little more privacy. Service has been good and the food comes out pretty fast.

Me and my friends went to the orient express on a Sunday night. It was pretty empty. We went for kareoke. The actual room was ok. The hallway and restaurant was a little confusing. It was hard to get to the bathroom. The food was pretty good! It was pretty standard. No complaints from me. I thought it was nice how you could use the room cover towards food. It was still ~$30 a person, which isn't too terrible. The service was really great. They got our food to us really fast & came in to take places every once in a while. Overall, I would probably go back here. I've never been to kareoke before so I don't have much to compare it to

Was pleasantly surprised by this place in terms of flavor. I have been searching Seattle proper for a spot like this, and this is the only one that comes close to tasting a bit like what I'm used to coming from the San Francisco Bay Area. Thought the decor of the place was kitschy and loved how they provided historical pics and backstory to how this place came to be. I had to deduct a star due to the lack of cleanliness of the place, to the point that I was ready to potentially be sick afterward but figured it's the price you pay for hole-in-the-wall places like this one. Had no idea, they have an attached Karaoke Lounge but will definitely be back for that at some point. We had a pretty classic order (not sure of the exact names, feeling lazy to reference the menu), Soy Sauce Noodle w Beef, Egg Rolls, Ginger Beef Scallion, Wor Wonton Soup. The Noodles were basic, but they were what I expected, so it worked out. The Ginger Beef Scallion was really good, just a bit too liquidy. The Egg Rolls were a little basic but also what I expected as for taste; these were a little bit disappointing; I was hoping for more flavor because that can make or break a place for me. The Wor Wonton was surprisingly good, I'll definitely order that again. Recommend this place if you're looking for something quick that tastes averagely as a typical hole-in-wall should? It's not fancy or clean, and I hardly consider it cheap eats, but the taste is at least a bit better than in other spots in the city. Definitely not a date spot, good for groups, though!

My partner took me here after my work event. It's one of her favorite places to eat and she wanted to share it. It does feel like a well kept secret. We sat on the side with the bar. It's pretty old but I really enjoyed the space. Felt kind of divey.I think we walked in on a themed karaoke night or party. Our bartender took our order immediately and had the food out before we could blink. The portions are huge and the service was amazing. If I lived in the area I'd probably go often.

Orient Express is a unique Chinese restaurant and lounge, with private karaoke rooms. They are conveniently located a 5-10 minute walk from the SODO Link light rail station, and they have a parking lot. This is a review of their karaoke rooms. Overall, I was impressed. As long as every member of your party spends a minimum $25 on food, there is no room fee and you can stay in the room as long as you want. (With tax and 20% gratuity fee, it came out to just under $35/person total.) It's a fantastic value for the money IF you really love karaoke and will sing for 3+ hours. We were there for 6+ hours and sung until our voices died. I heard from some friends before that the food was "meh," but we all thought it was pretty decent family-style Chinese food. The karaoke menu is more limited than the main restaurant menu, but still had plenty of options. Some hits were the salt and pepper shrimp, garlic eggplant, and beef dishes. Most dishes on the karaoke menu are about $18-22, so when we all ordered at least $25/person we had so much food that no one left hungry. It's a very quirky place! The building is composed of several train cars with a restaurant/kitchen smack dab in the middle, and walking around the hallways feels a bit like a maze. The room was clean, the bathrooms were small but tidy, and the staff were very polite and helpful even though we had a huge rowdy party. (Note that I don't think this is ADA accessible: You have to walk up stairs to enter the building, and many of the hallways are too narrow with sharp turns for a wheelchair.) We were in the VIP room with 25 people. (The staff said we could fit up to 35, but 25 was definitely the largest I'd go before you run out of space/seating.) There was still lots of space to get up and dance. But I'd go with a slightly smaller group (maybe 10-15 people) in a smaller room, so we don't need to hit the minimum 20 guests for the big room, and so everyone can sing more songs. You can call ahead of time to make reservations, or walk in. The setup is good: dimmable lights, comfortable and flexible seating, two TV screens, strong mics, good sound quality. The karaoke system is a weird/quirky Chinese one but at least it has the capability to pull up YouTube videos (only 1 at a time with ads and no queue though) from the touch screen on the side, so you can sing any song you can find online. It was a little annoying that the on-screen keyboard would only pop up if we went back to the menu, and the typing sound was super loud and couldn't be adjusted, but we got over it. Overall, if you were just going for an hour or two or for the food, then it's not really worth it. But if you're hardcore into karaoke and want to sing in a private room until your lungs give out, the price is unbeatable! I would love to go back!

We have driven place many times over the years and decided to finally stopped in. Clearly their business is pick up and delivery along with Karaoke in the bar. But we were warmly welcomed and seated. The food was really tasty and we enjoyed our meal with plenty to take home for a meal the next day. I honestly felt it was a good dine in experience and I would recommend it for take out or delivery. I loved the ambiance of the dining room, which gave a train dining feel. I appreciated hearing laughter and warm encounters from the host as people came in. I appreciated the service, even though apparently they were not really set up for in dining room customers.
