Orchard transformed the view out of every window in my home this weekend for the better. My half-acre lot in the woods had been neglected for about 30 years, so I needed a little bit of everything. And I needed a team that knew this terrain. Eddie and the crew were on time both days. Gonzalo and his team did a very good tree pruning to my backyard trees as well as removing a dead Monterey pine tree next to power cables which was highly impressive since many companies I called wouldn't do such work. Well, it seems yelp works. They finally came by and removed the two piles of brush they left behind many months ago. I give them only one more star for a total of three stars. I agree with Michael M (his review 1/31/ 2022) Gonzalo still wanted double time for a Saturday they worked for 4 hours. I didn't request a Saturday visit, nor did I agree to one. I needed to be home when they showed up. They came by randomly with days in between their work. The crew only spoke Spanish and Gonzalo was not on site most of the time. I had to hire another tree guy who spoke Spanish to communicate with the crew and get done what I wanted. This cost me an additional $500. read more

They're did a great job on our neighbor's tree, so I gave Omar a call. He responded immediately, and was able to do a site visit the same day. His crew was available the next morning, and showed up promptly at 8am (Omar was waiting outside in his truck at 7:45). The crew did a great job, and made sure to protect our garden from falling debris. They were willing to chip all the limbs, but asked if I was okay leaving the limbs for our weekly pickup the next morning, which I agreed to. The crew cut the limbs into 4' sections and stacked them neatly at the curbside. Omar returned at the end of the day to blow all the scarps from our yard and driveway. We hired Eddie Lopez and his men on three occasions to deal with our 100 foot coastal cypress trees. They gave accurate and fair quotes, showed up on time, were respectful of neighbor concerns and did a spectacular cleanup of the property. This work is difficult and dangerous and Mr. Lopez's crew was simply the best. The job was enormous getting rid of a giant tree that had fallen in a storm. We live in El Granada. While the work they did was very high quality, I didn't feel like I got the value that I have received working with other companies. I live on a wooded acre in the Santa Cruz mountains. When I hire tree teams, I typically pay a daily rate for the work, and I usually have 2 to 4 days of work. Orchard's took 7 and an half days to do what others have done in much less time. The other problem I ran into was that there were days they we had fewer team members, and at times the team didn't have access to a chipper and a truck. The trees were done very well read more

The quality of work and the preservation of all our tree's natural character was superb. We found Orchard's through a friend who highly recommended their services. We got quotes from several other companies, but Eddie was by far the most knowledgeable about the trees in the yard. During the quote process Eddie took the time to walk through the yard, describing the trees and their current condition and explained how he would prune them to give the trees the best conditions for staying healthy while also maintaining the aesthetics of the tree. His crew was crazy efficient, taking down huge pine trees affected by the bark beetle in record time. He was also considerate about pricing, trying to work out the best rates for the work we would need done and he even had his crew driving further out to a dump that cost less for our benefit. Gonzalo Jr came to my house uninvited and sold me on removing five large trees. We came to an agreement on price, he said he would be here with his crew on Wednesday 8am sharp. Come Wednesday morning he never showed up nor did he even give me a courtesy call. Upon me calling him several times I finally got through and his excuse was he had an emergency call from another customer. I asked Gonzalo if he was coming out today and his response was "I'll be there at 1pm." Well guess what, he never showed the second time nor did he even call. This is no way to treat people or run a business. I give him zero stars! I believe in karma, so what comes around goes around. Sadly my only recourse is to go on the internet and complain, and to tell all my friends who live in the Los Gatos hills to avoid Orchard's tree service like the Coronavirus. read more

The crew did a very good job and worked with me as to how much I wanted/needed to be pruned from the trees. I found Eddie to be quite likeable. I would give them 4.5 stars instead of 4 if I could. Only issues were they were a half hour late with no call and one of his employees backed the chipper truck into the tree they had just pruned and broke a few small branches. I worked with Omar and his team for tree cutting service at my home backyard. They identified the dead tree and given me the quote for cutting the tree. They did a good job in trimming the palm tree and backyard fence trees. The price is decent. I am giving two stars primarily because they didn't clean up the debris properly. Omar promised me that they will come on the next day and clean up the debris which he never showed up and didn't perform any cleaning. Trust is important and words are more important. i expect the vendors to fulfill their words. I don't recommend this business for the service. read more

They also did some great work on clearing out the mess that was my neighbors fire hazard jungle. Those guys were ripping out mounds of poison oak. Yikes. I first hired Orchard's Tree Service in January 2018 to remove several "Loma fire" damaged trees around my house in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Jorge Venegas and his crew of 5 wasted no time getting those trees down and chipped even in the rain and cold weather. The crew did such a good job the first day I asked them to return for an additional two days to remove several more trees and cut/remove brush from another large area on the property. In February 2018 I had Orchard's Tree Service return again for additional tree and brush removal from the property. Now with some 40 + dead trees removed and several acres of brushed cleared from the land the property looks very clean and the house is now fire safe. The crew is very professional, works safely, and wears protective equipment at all times.
