We live on a private road in Felton and are part of a Firewise community, so reducing the fuel load along the roadside is an important priority for us. This is the second year Huerta Tree Service has done this work for us, and we have been very pleased with the results both times. Juan Carlos Huerta has been our main point of contact each year, and he has consistently been friendly, easy to work with, respectful of our time, and attentive to small details. The crew is also friendly and respectful. They readily accommodate traffic on our road and always leave the area clean when the job is done. We appreciate their professionalism and the care they bring to their work. read more

Twice I have requested a quote for a large project. No response. If they aren't able to handle at least they could respond and say so.

The best local place for getting even large-scale tree and vegetation work done. It's a second generation, family owned company who does great work and gives competitive quotes. I had a large project that they were able to complete in one day that other places would have not only charged more, but I'd have had to wait a few weeks to get the work done. They've also done contract work for big projects as well. Some of you may have seen them working along Highway 17 during the cleanup effort. They review exactly what you need and the health of everything. In some cases, they will cut more or less in some areas to keep the tree healthy and still clean it up. Even if you're not sure about trees, they'll come examine them for free. They also do work for two of my neighbors and are really wonderful. They really enjoy their work and very proud of it. I'm convinced a few of them could probably learn Cirque du Soleil as well-balanced as they are in the air. You can call Jorge Huerta for a free appointment at (408) 605-5937. Omar and his crew were absolutely amazing. He came out and gave recommendations on trimming to improve our view that I hadn't even considered. The whole team was quick and responsive. They got the job done in just two days from my first call and did so professionally. They cleaned up after wards and even spread out the chips for us. I couldn't recommend Omar more. I called Arturo at Huerta's as we desperately needed help with summer cleanup on our property. We have about two acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains and were having trouble keeping up with the brush and redwood water shoots. I met Arturo at the house and walked the property the day prior. I ran through all of the concerns and scope of work. He sent a team to the property the following day and the results were astounding. They trimmed back all of the growth with exceptional attention to detail. I couldn't be more pleased with the efficient service and look forward to having Arturo on speed-dial for future projects. read more

I cannot say enough great things about Huerta's! From start to finish, their crew was simply awesome. They went way above and beyond what I expected. Not only did they expertly trim, limb, and cut back sucklings for the trees in my yard, but they also took the time to clean my roof and gutters. It was a steep roof and hard to access, but cleaned the whole thing! They made sure all the sidewalks, the road, and every pathway in my yard were spotless before they left. It felt like they transformed my outdoor space entirely. The crew was professional, efficient, and incredibly courteous throughout the process. Great communication. I really appreciated their attention to detail and the extra care they put into leaving everything in perfect condition. If you're looking for a reliable and hardworking tree trimming service, look no further. These folks are the real deal. Highly, highly recommend! Give Arturo a call at (408) 500-5064 read more

This is the third time we have had Huertas out to clear trees on our property in Felton. Neptali is highly professional and thorough and the crew is incredibly hard-working and kind. Huertas removed 20+ fir trees, trimmed redwoods, and removed tan oaks. This included trees in hazardous areas near the home and above a propane/ septic tank, and water line. Thank you Neptali and the Huertas crew for safely removing trees and doing the incredible work you do! We reached Neptali at 408-903-3850. read more

If there were more stars, I'd give them all to Huerta's! I've been a repeat customer for years, and these guys are the BEST! Jorge Venegas (408-605-5937) provides such great customer service at a very competitive price. He and his crews accommodate my schedule and have helped me with several urgent needs, to help with fire prevention and reduce the risk of trees/limbs falling on my and my neighbors' home(s). The crews are courteous and always give me smiles all-around. They pay attention to my requests, keeping trees trimmed and healthy while protecting a privacy sceen at the property line. They work together to make sure each day ends safely and provide great cleanup when the job is done. Whether preparing for winter storms or summer fire season, I know Huertas has got my back! read more

Huerta's did an excellent job trimming 2 large trees on my property, including a 75 foot redwood. Juan Castro provided great advice on what should be done with the trees, including removal of some large branches overhanging my roof, thinning out the redwood and removing treetops. He provided a very fair estimate and was able to schedule the work 1 day after our agreement to proceed. Juan arrived with the crew and provided an additional explanation of the work to be done. 4 person crew worked efficiently and safely to complete the work. Work included grinding the tree limbs into mulch which I elected to keep for use on my property. Will plan on using Huerta's on future work on my property. Highly recommended! read more

These guys completely butchered the formerly majestic evergreens at Ida Price Middle School. "Safety pruning" 90% of the tree canopy, hacking off limbs midway with no apparent plan. They are not ISA licensed arborists. Any good arborist knows you don't cut off the ends of evergreen limbs, and don't prune over 1/3 of the tree canopy. What is left will never regrow and stands like utility poles as testament to their lousy work. Hire these guys to remove a tree because they only know how to kill them. Photo says it all. read more

Our neighbors called Huertas to get rid of a palm tree. And I was up in my room for about a couple of hours and I was getting sick and tired of the buzzing noise. I looked out of my room and there it was. YOUR worker trespassing in our yard. There was palm tree crap all over the place. I was shocked and very upset. My dad went to tell them that what they where doing was not okay and the didn't speak English . The palm tree leaves were on our plants and DESTROYED them. Keep in mind it took over a year to grow all of our plants. Your lucky my dad didn't sue you. read more

I live in Ben Lomond. This firm's work is so fabulous and professional I can hardly see straight. Had a large madrone removed (not healthy) and 50 feet of a monster redwood topped off after part had split and fallen in the storms of last January. AND the fallen 50 feet cut and removed. I'd watched the work this company had done on multiple neighbor properties over the past year and finally engaged them. Price for the work was WAY reasonable, and they did much more than the above. The area for the 50 feet at the edge of my property now looks like a park rather than overgrown chaos. the madrone was bucked into 14" lengths and piled conveniently for me to split. Branches from both trees were chipped, hauled away, and my entire driveway blown really clean. They showed up at 8AM sharp and worked right until 4PM. ALL of what I'd dreamed of having done was completed in a day. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Best to contact Oscar Huerta to come out and get a quote at (408) 510-2045. I've got more work for them in the modest future. read more

We called Huerta's Tree Service when we needed to have some large branches of our walnut tree trimmed off. The tree is very large, having three trunks, and some of the branches on one of the trunks were blocking sunlight in our yard and dropping large amounts of debris in our yard. Rey came out and gave an estimate on how much it would cost to trim 4 branches completely off and trim back 2 or 3 other branches just a little. He had a nifty laser pointer that he used to point to exactly which branches we were talking about, so as to avoid any confusion. That was pretty cool. He talked about having the tree pruned so as to not harm the tree, but also how it could be done to make the tree look more in proportion with itself and be esthetically pleasing. I was all for that. The verbal estimate he gave seemed very reasonable and fair. Rey was really friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and easy to deal with. We were scheduled to have the work done in a few weeks and I wanted to get a written estimate on the work, just so as to avoid any possible conflicts or misunderstandings. It took a couple of emails and texts, but we found out that unfortunately, Rey had had a family tragedy. His brother-in-law, Jorge, took over and was as friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and easy to deal with as Rey. Jorge called before his crew arrived on time. We went over and confirmed what work was to be done. He wrote out a written estimate. His four-person crew began work on the tree. It took about two hours to complete the work. Afterward, the crew cleaned up all debris and used the leaf blower to completely blow off our entire large patio, even areas where no tree debris was. They did an excellent job. We now have morning sunlight flooding our yard and our garden loves it. We are hoping that in the fall, we have a lot less tree debris in our yard. I can highly recommend Huerta's Tree Service, and we will definitely use them again in the future. They did excellent work for a very reasonable price. read more

When a large Douglas Fir landed on our roof, Huerta's crew arrived an hour and a half after our call for help and in another hour and a half, in the rain and worst wind in memory, had reduced the tree to piles on our yard and patched the hole on the roof. The next day they cleared every trace of the tree from our property. It doesn't get any better than that! And we were one of three or four similar recues that day. Many thanks. read more

They are our "go-to" tree service these days. Keeping trees trimmed back is essential these days for mountain living. They have always been professional in all aspects of the work, arriving on time, clarifying the work to be done, and safely cutting even large trees in difficult locations. They also do a great job cleaning up afterwards - chipping the branches and piling them at the location we specify. It's worth the extra cost not to have the piles of brush left around, like other tree services will do. read more

I want to take the time to write our review for Huerta"s Tree Service. We live in the Santa Cruz mountains and have had a number of trees removed from our property. There are many Tree Services. When our person's retired we look into a new Tree Services in our area . We have had conversations and estimates with different company in San Lorenzo valley. From the first phone call with Huerta"s tree I new immediately this would be the company I would go with. The customer services was so genuine. Calls were returned promptly and each time I spoke to one of the guys, I felt a kindness that is rare yet so important . A month or more I arranged to have them come out to give a estimate on a tree that was concerning us, for to long. For ourselves neighbors. We met with Omar with Huerta's Tree. His customer service was above and beyond. He expedited the project with genuine kindness, knowledge, efficiently from start to finish. The tree was a hazard and had to be removed. I will not go into the details . I will say that Omar talked with us , heard us, heard our concerns. Omar went above and beyond and talked it over with his company. He called me within a week with a plan that they had come up with that made it possible for us to fall the tree. Omar and his guys came the next morning early , with smiles and such positive energy . By the end of the day it was completed. The area, our yard was left perfectly. Omar expedited his team so effectively . Thank you Omar ,your team and Hueratas Trees . Exceptional customer service. Your genuine kindness and knowledge is above and beyond. See you again soon Marilyn and Jim read more

Had a bit of a mix up with bid we got from Carmelo to trim our large hedges, remove a dead oak tree, weed eat our back lot and shape a archway I created. Carmelo's Crew didn't show up on day scheduled and after no call to explain why or call backs, I contacted Arturo Huerta and he was out the next morning honoring the scope of work and price we got from Carmelo. Arturo got a crew out to the house a day later and they busted butt doing what we asked for. They did it all pretty quickly and cleaned up afterwards to my wife's satisfaction. We have used them in the past for tree removals and with the exception of this glitch, we would highly recommend Arturo and Huertas Tree Service. read more

Many thanks to Rey and his staff. We received a very fair on-site estimate on the same day as our request. His team arrived promptly at 8:00 AM and by 10:15 had removed a small oak tree [permitted] and shaped three additional trees. Pruned my trees and ruined my greenhouse. Nothing was said the day of service that a branch fell on it and busted the frame. I contacted the company about the damage and was told I'd receive reimbursement to buy a new one. I've followed up multiple times to get an update and it comes to "I'll follow up and get back to you" with no response. It has now been almost three weeks and now I'm hearing "the office is closed and I will follow up on Monday". I'm glad my trees look better but now my garden is struggling due to their negligence. I'm upset with how this situation is being handled seeing they damaged my property and are trying to sweep the problem under the rug. read more

These guys did a great job! They were very punctual and professional. The crew showed up with clean, well maintained equipment and got the job done in a timely way. The crew was polite and friendly and left the site clean with no garbage left behind. I was also impressed that they all had on the proper modern protective gear. As the job progressed, I was also impressed with their rigging tactics for dropping the larger limbs and sections of trunks accurately and carefully to avoid damaging fencing and surrounding areas. I have future work in mind and will not hesitate to use Huerta's again. Highly recommended. read more

Reading the reviews here, I had really high hopes. When Alex and his uncle came out to look at the property they were very nice and assured me the items I requested could be done in a day. They convinced me to pay for a day's work (8 hours) including 4 trees coming down along with a few other small ones and some ground debris (branches, etc) removal. They said Alex would be here the day the work was to be done. Alex was available the morning of the work, but then left, and the workers spent the last 3 or so hours of the day asking me what to do or sitting around. My Spanish is only so good, so the work that was promised was not completed. After talking to Alex, he told me they could come back out the next time they were in the area to remove the ground debris. They were just up the road again, and still no debris removal. Another downside to the work was that while my wife and I were home working, one if the trees they were bringing down fell the wrong direction and hit another tree that was not supposed to come down and that one fell very close to our deck and fence, but no damage was done. I'll consider using Huerta's in the future, but I'll be making it very clear what must be done in order to close the invoice. Hopefully next time I'll get the awesome work so many others reviewers have experienced! read more
