They have trimmed my trees since 2006. Highly recommended: - They are less expensive than other tree trimmers because they don't spend money on a telephone receptionist. Which means it takes them a few days to return your call/email, but it's worth the wait. Use the Yelp project feature to schedule. - Joshua is a certified arborist, and really knows his stuff. He does not try to upsell you on useless add-ons. - Joshua gives you a quote on the spot when he does the inspection, and you can schedule it right then. Very convenient. - Joshua oversees the work on-site. - It's a family run operation; two brothers, and the father. read more

Best tree service in town. Good quality service and very friendly staffs. I have many trees to be trimmed, the staffs came during very sunny days and complete the work on time. No drama. Awesome works read more

Sabino came and gave a quote right away. I was worried it would be expensive, he was the second person I called. Before giving a price he explained everything to me, how he would cut the tree, how he would get rid of the debris. Then he gave the price and it made sense to me. I agreed and he came the next morning with a truck and shredder. I was only cutting one tree but it was tall. They did it in maybe 45 minutes. I highly recommend Sabino for tree cutting service. read more

Sabino Torres and his crews have come to help me with "city ordered" cutbacks of trees on my property. They are great! They give prompt estimates. They show up on time, and the work is perfect. read more

Had a number of trees and stumps removed from my property in preparation for new landscape. Sabino walked the property with me to understand what needed to be done and provided an estimate. His crew did a great job removing trees and stumps. They double checked which trees to remove, explained what was being done and cleaned up after. Reasonable price for the job. I would use them again. read more

Mountain View Tree Service was a pleasure to do business with. Grant, the arborist and estimator is knowledgable about trees in general but he also correctly assessed each tree for potential pest, fungus, and age related damages or weaknesses. Grant walked me through the whole tree removal process and maintained contact throughout the project even though his wife was giving birth to twins! The team of workers on the job, led by Kyver (the foreman and tree cutter), were tremendous! Kyver worked hard demonstrating expertise while safely and deftly dismantled each tree with precision without damaging anything on the property. Ryan, the equipment operator, was amazing to watch his mastery in operating the machinery. The wood was either chipped or cleanly stacked in the designated area. The tree cutting site was left clean and orderly by the remaining hard working team of Phil, Nate, and Jesus. Many many thanks to the hardworking crew and the job they completed for me. I highly recommend Mountain View Tree Service for any tree removal job large or small. read more

Mountain View tree services cut a large spruce tree in out front yard. We got several quotes and this company not only was the most economical but their rep was also most friendly and prompt of all the companies. They came on the agreed date in the exact time window they promised and cut the tree in one day. They had to come back another day to take care of roots. They did not ask for payment till all the work was done. I highly recommend this company for your tree cutting needs read more

Overdue review. Sabino is prompt, has a lot of knowledge on trees and has trimmed my trees, cut down dead trees including grinding, understands what we want and his guys come and finish the job quickly and clean up. I also referred other folks to call him and looks like some of my neighbors use him too! Would definitely recommend. read more

My son uses them in his house and they do a very good job as I monitored the job they did. My son also referred him to my daughter as well. They are prompt, do a quick job, clean up well. They removed a tree and grounded the stump and also trimmed 3 other larger trees. Price is reasonable also. read more

I am absolutely happy with the service from free estimate to job completion. Sabino is straight forward and no hidden fees. Josh, the crew lead, was really awesome in communicating with me on every step of the way and finished the job with highest level of satisfaction. Everything was done right. My property and our neighbor's back yard were completely clean afterwards. I will use this service again and highly recommend to others for tree trimming service. Rest assured, these guys are professionals. Btw, all the previous 1-star ratings were really unfair. These people asked for freebees and then gave them 1-star. It's rude. These ratings are not true representation of Mountain View Tree Service. read more

Sabino is, in a word, amazing. I called him yesterday morning about a bottlebrush tree that had split in my backyard that was dangerously close to pulling down a cable line. If anyone knows bottlebrush trees they know what a tangled mess they can be (not to mention the dust and heaven-knows-what material has rested high above in the canopy of leaves and branches). Sabino came out within an hour, assessed the issue, gave straightforward and accurate information on what was needed, and came back in an hour with another amazing person to cut down the concerning branches. They were like surgeons in how they approached the cuts, methodical and thoughtful. I want to stress this because any other way could have been disastrous with the cable line attached to other important lines. I cannot say enough about him and about this service. I would recommend them to anyone looking for tree service, emergency or otherwise. read more

We used Mountain View Tree Service for clearing a couple of neighbors branches hanging over our backyard. The team that came in was very courteous and do a great job according to our expectations. They made sure some structures in our backyard are not affected. Once done they cleaned up the entire place and hauled away the branches. Entire thing took less than 40 mins. Highly satisfied. read more

I have used this company quite a few times over the years. Use the phone, not the website--as you could expect, the team is out in the field most of the day and that is the most reliable way to contact them. They have removed some tricky trees with no problems, and gave some good advice about trees I thought needed service but he advised me to wait. He was right--one was frost damage that grew back and one tree was too stressed to trim. It ended up dying later anyway from beetles, and I saved money from not trimming it then. read more

In 2008 I first contracted Mr. Torres to trim several very tall trees in my backyard. To date October 2013 is the 3rd time I have contracted Mr. Torres. This was an especially difficult job because of the confined space of cutting a scrub that had grown at least 50 feet high, 30 feet across & basically was a tree. Mr. Torres showed up with a professional & courteous team of 4 men (including himself.) He not only quickly cut the scrub down but took out the stump & immaculately cleaned the work area. And on top of this he gave me a terrific quote. It never occurs to me to get other quotes because I know Mr. Torres will do an excellent job at a terrific price. I have 2 other neighbors that contracts him as well. Nice guy too!! read more

Sabino and team came in to remove a near dead 100ft tree that was only about a foot away from out house. They were able to magically get it down and completely removed in a day with no damage to the house. His team left the yard very clean at the end of the day. Bonus, ... I had issues planting a plant where the old stump use to be. I messaged Sabino about it on Sunday ... he was there on monday to help me out and remove the last few roots blocking planting. Will use MVTS again read more

I called for free wood chips/mulch to use for my home's landscaping, so how can I complain, right? Well, first off, I had to call numerous times. Not like I didn't get a hold of anybody, but even when they scheduled deliveries, they didn't show...nor did they call to tell me they weren't coming. This was extremely displeasing as I took time off work on two separate occasions to wait for them. Next, when the wood chips finally did get delivered, they were full of leaves, pines, and limes. Yes, limes. A lot of limes. So, the quality wasn't great, but they were free so what can I really say. On top of which, I was able to get a bit of decent stuff out of the pile which will only improve after the pines and leaves dry up and bio degrade. I guess, when all is send and done, I would have given them three stars if they would have held to the first scheduled appointment. Final caveat, this review in no way reflects how they operate any other part of their tree service business (aka, their actual money making business). This review is only for people looking for wood chips. read more

I got put in touch with Mountain View Tree Service through ChipDrop. They called me to ensure that the chips they were providing would be acceptable, showed up on time, and made a seamless drop. They were careful to not dump the wood chips too close to the house, and the pile of wood chips was very clean (birch and pine, just as they mentioned on the phone). read more

Sabino and team worked on 2 trees for us in LAH. One of them was next to the garage and the team did a great job of removing the dangerous large branches very carefully without damage to property. Sabino Torres took my name & address & set an appointment time but never showed. I tried to call when he was half an hour late, but he wouldn't answer. Sabino-I came home early from my errands to be here for you. If you weren't coming you could have called to let me know, or not made the appointment in the first place. You get 5 stars for rudeness You deserve NO stars for your non-service. There are other tree services out there. read more

I am extremely happy with Mountain View Tree Service. I just had a dead Pine tree removed by them. They were very responsive, efficient, punctual, and have done a great job in removing the tree, the stump, and cleaning up afterward. They left the place clean as if there wasn't a tree there. They are definitely my go-to place for any of my future tree maintenance. They also charge very reasonably. read more

Amazing how they manage to get a huge equipment/machine into my small yard and not ruin my deck. very prompt in responding to message and on time with appointment for a written estimate, reasonable and you can try to negotiate. They were on time and early on the day of work, There were 4 people that showed up and for the tree service and to clean my yard . . They were out of my clean yard , with their equipment within 90 minutes. AWESOME. They even brought their big tree shredder . I am very happy with Sabino and his team. Sabino was very knowledgeable about how best we could trim the trees in our front yard. 2 huge cedar trees. And gave a reasonable estimate. After a days work everything looks good and trimmed trees look beautiful. The team arrived on time, very efficient and quiet while at work. Cleaned up the yard well and patiently took care of some extra yard cleanup when I pointed it out, which they had overlooked. Our yard looks clean and great. Impressed with Mountain View tree service. Would definitely recommend. read more

I really do think this is as good as it gets. Mr. Torres was easy to contact, it was easy to schedule a free estimate, and it was easy to schedule the work. I had 2 large Eucalyptus trees trimmed. Most of the smaller tree was slanting up over my roof. Neither tree has had the required care for 15+ years. The trees turned out beautiful. Most of the smaller one had to be trimmed so it is obvious it was trimmed, but the larger one looks so natural that you have to really examine it to see that it was trimmed. All of the branches were thinned out and some of the ends were trimmed to give the tree a more natural shape, to lighten them so they are less likely to break off, and to thin them so the wind can pass through more easily. Did I mention how beautiful these trees now are? I seriously considered having them removed instead of trimmed, and I'm so glad I didn't. They are now the most beautiful trees around the area. I also had a lemon/orange tree reshaped, and another non-descript tree in the backyard thinned and trimmed. They both turned out just as nice. I highly recommend Mountain View Tree Service. These guys did a very professional job, they were always careful with the safety ropes, they cleaned up even more mess than they created -- they treated the whole property with the care and respect you want to have from this type of service. Did I mention how beautiful these trees are now? read more

Sabino returned call for a quote within 24 hrs. Very knowledgeable about trees and plants. Gave good recommendations and a competitive quote. Date set to begin the job within a week. Crew showed up on time and was courteous and very efficient. We trimmed neighbors' overhangs, cut 4 trees and grounded the stumps, trimmed 3 large trees, and took out many hedges and shrubs. Crew meticulously cleaned up the yard and driveway. All done within a day. We used many tree service companies before but this was a very pleasant experience. I had some branches from trimming our fig tree. I looked up nearby tree trimming service companies and found Mountain View Tree Service. Called 8:30 AM on Monday and Sabino called me back within 2 hours and was over to our home less than 30 minutes later. Everything was completed by 11AM. With the recent big storms I was concerned no one would want to take on a small job. Sabino team did a great job can cleaned up, never would have know they were here. Will definitely use them again. read more

Very professional, responsive and excellent value. BBB rated A+. Mr. Torres responded quickly with a quote (came at 7AM per my request) and was flexible in scheduling the work. His team arrived at 8AM as scheduled and completed the work efficiently (removed and stump grinded 23' tree and trimmed two others). His crew of four (including himself) were hard working, completed the work quickly and cleaned up so you could hardly tell they were there. Great work, great value.
