A time to Finish our front Landscaping My hubby had a Vision and started but wasn't able to complete it for me. Again, with much Prayers for God's Guidance, Directions we contacted for 3 Bids. One company with the initials of SL on Yelp great reviews was not a pleasant experience for us. They wanted Photos before they would even consider to bid. After much stress I did the photos, took the measurements as requested. I didn't expect them to come out to bid but they did and their bid was very high. I kept on praying and D&I Landscaping appeared and had great Yelp reviews. My initial reaction was Alyssa Torres was my first contact very personable and then we booked for Luis Blanco to come out to access our needs. No request for measurements or photos at all. Our job was easier only because my hubby knew what he wanted to have done and gave them his Vision and with their advice and help we tweaked a few things. Pavers is not an easy job especially when there's already Pavers installed, the guy I watched him and he was so methodical and kept placing Pavers down until he felt that he got the flow down and it was an amazing and challenging job but he did very well in my opinion. What we Love about D&I , is one of the owners Irving and their Designer Luis came over to meet with us. D&I doesn't charge for a Designer as some other companies do its part of their services. Irving, David, Luis and Alyssa and the entire Crew are so professional again this company was very Honest, Reputable, Hardworking and most of all they listen to our needs. One time our water spigot started leaking or spouting and we have this Project Group Text that they set up for us, all we do is text and within a few minutes David one of the owners showed up and turned it off while we were gone. They installed a water spigot that is easy for us to reach. They finished our Irrigation system along with installing a Rain Bird timer. It's hard to find a good honest company with Integrity but this company has it. Remember the company with the Initials SL think of S = a hard rock. Well... we had 3 bids which included backyard and front yard. When I called SL company and explained change of plans not doing the backyard she said oh, well that changes your front yard quote by 8 - 10% I was livid are you kidding me? No, it changes your price, the Lord quickly had me shut the door on this company bad feelings from the time I contacted them had to do measurements and photos. When the guy showed up,from SL, I told him you're young but you are passing on small jobs because you don't have time, let me tell you something passing on small job could lead you to something bigger, he was cordial and what was funny was after I went into the house he took measurements. When during our conversation I said how can you bid without taking measurements he replied because I've been doing this a long time really you're not even 40 Years old. D&I I contacted them to not include our backyard sent me a new quote penny for penny they just took off the back yard quote the front yard stayed the same. Honesty and Integrity goes a long way plus they don't charge us for a Porta Potty as SL did on our quote $250 for a Porta Potty folks she said unless you want the crew into your house to potty. I did let our Painters use our restroom which is fine they're in our house anyway and they were so professional and kind to us. To each its own. Looking for good Quality Work, a company with Honesty, Interity and a great ideas on your Landscaping this is the company and we had Carpenter Bees in one of our Post. David one of the owners worked really hard into the dark repairing it and he also placed the boulders back onto our neighbors lot for them. Irving drops by to check on the progress of our project. D&I were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Our front lawn was completely overgrown and we had dead trees that were falling over. Well, let me tell you, D&I came to the rescue (not all heroes wear capes!) Within 1 week D&I had dug everything up, removed these trees and unwanted bushes and covered the entire area with weed cloth and pea gravel. They planted some really gorgeous flowers and shrubs, and set up irrigation so it's super low maintenance. The neighbors have commented that they love how the front lawn looks now! D&I are very communicative, kind, and give a fresh perspective to things. For example, I was thinking about redoing my backyard which I thought was stamped concrete. D&I inspected it and told me they are real flagstone and it's expensive and not worth replacing. I really appreciated that they weren't trying to squeeze every last penny out of us. We are so glad we found D&I Landscape to transform our backyard and bring our ideas to life. From the very beginning, the experience was excellent. Luis, the designer, was our first point of contact and helped us refine our vision and budget. Our project included new plants, two large planter boxes, decomposed granite, artificial lawn, pavers, and a dry creek. We also wanted a gazebo, and Irvin recommended one from Amazon that the crew skillfully built for us. Included in our backyard design was a major fix to our existing patio cover roofing. We had installed a patio a few years back, but the roof leaked so badly during rain that we could not use the space--and we constantly had to cover our outdoor furniture. During the initial walkthrough, Irvin and Luis immediately noticed that our second story had no gutters and the patio roof had no slope, so all the rainwater just collected on top with nowhere to go. Their solution was to re-slope the roof and install proper gutters and drainage that directed the water into our new dry creek." I am happy to report that after the first rain, our patio stayed completely dry--something we had not experienced before! After signing the contract and submitting a deposit, Luis and Irvin (our project manager) met with us again to explain each step of the process in detail. I requested a quote for a backyard renovation. Though they were nice to talk to, came & heard my project requirements & gave me a free quote. But they were the MOST expensive amongst the 5 quotes I took - I only reached out to landscapers with 4.5+ Stars with at least 100+ reviewers on Yelp. D&I were 3x the average quote for the others. Not only they were double & triple charging me to haul away dirt during the renovation (charges for hauling away dirt & debris for pavers, again charging for hauling dirt & debris for turf installation, and a third charge for hauling dirt & debris for retaining wall installation!!!), they also added access fees & material handling charges 3 times. None of the others did this - they all had a single total price for hauling dirt, access fees & material handling which alone was 70% cheaper than theirs. I liked the person who I interacted with, but I kept feeling like they were trying to get as much money out of me as they could :( I wish them luck with their other clients. read more

I first hired D&I landscape to repair the sidewalk in front of my home. The company had the best quote and Irvin Ochoa informed me of what will exactly be done to the sidewalk. I hired D&I Landscape to rebuild some paver steps that were poorly built by a previous contractor. They did a great job. Scheduling the initial consultation was very quick and easy to coordinate. I needed about 500 sq. ft. of pavers for my backyard. I received several quotes from landscapers and Irvin's was very straightforward and easy to understand. The initial proposal was detailed and clear and included mock ups of my yard and space. I was assigned a team for every aspect. Irvin and company delivered on every single aspect of our project, from initial estimate, planning, execution and attention to detail. We had large backyard without much of usable space. We had rotten deck that need to be replaced. We had a rough idea about the design but Irvin showed a lot of patience to understand our requirements and help us make right choices. The raised patio design was the hardest of all. He suggested few stores where we could see the different pavers and tiles in person to help us finalize on the design. He was patient enough to adjust the quote based on different tiles. He helped us in making good design choices without going over budget. The final design included 300sq ft raised porcelain patio, 200 sq ft gazebo, 300 sq ft basketball court, 180sqft artificial turf for play structure with a 250 ft DG walkway. The planning and execution of this project was the most impressive part. The crew arrived everyday around 8 am and worked till 6 pm. The did not cut corners, did not rush things and made sure every thing was put together with a lot of attention to detail. Irvin would stop by everyday and all the required materials arrived ahead of time and the crew was never blocked on anything. He was willingly taking additional changes that we requested during the execution. In the end, the end result was exactly what we expected. Our project consisted of a complete backyard landscaping redesign, which consisted of chopping down a huge tree, the extension of an existing deck to be much bigger which included the building of deck stairs/lights, the installation of metal railings on the entire deck and a pergola, the creation of a new stone planter wall along with back paver pathways, faux grass, irrigation system and lots and lots of plants and flowers. Irvin and his team at D&I Landscape recently completed our landscaping project here in Santa Clara and let me tell you how thrilled we are with the results. Our house backs up to San Tomas Expressway and for 37 years we have had an ugly backyard/wall and 50+ year old concrete in our driveway. Irvin and his team transformed our front and backyard landscaping and it's absolutely gorgeous. Our project included a new paver driveway, porch, and walkway. An RV pad with 6 inches of concrete on the side of the house, a knee wall with new plants and shrubs against our back wall, DG (decomposed granite) for a large shed install, irrigation, landscape lighting, and a paver border on both sides of the backyard and around our tree. D&I Landscaping kept us informed every step of the way and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with every aspect of the project. Irvin was super flexible with changes along the way. D & I Landscape completed the first project in October of 2024 which consisted of the tear down and replacement of 1553 square feet of concrete in the backyard. The concrete had been installed in the 1970's and needed replacement. This was the first time we had worked with D &I Landscaping. We had other quotes and selected D &I based on customer reviews and also because of the professionalism, knowledge and customer service they exhibited during the quote process compared to the other contractors. Their crew did a great job in completing this concrete project which was managed from beginning to end by the project manager who kept in communication with us throughout the process. The work was completed on time and they were quick to respond to any questions we had and worked with us on any adjustments we were considering. It was a pleasure to work with D&I. We were so satisfied with the results of this project that we retained their services for the second time to remove and replace a 436 square feet concrete driveway. Once again it was a job well done and on time. So this March (2025) we had them remove and replace all the concrete and front steps from the front of the house to the street. D&I is amazing! We hired them to rip/replace around 800sq ft of concrete and 700sq ft of lawn. They leveled the lawn, installed new irrigation, and put in a new WiFi timer. The final product was fantastic! Irvin was a pleasure to work with and his crew were highly skilled and did an incredible job. They were also fast; the job was done in less than 6 business days. Wanted to replace my front lawn with artificial grass or drought resistant landscape. We worked together and decided on a drought resistant landscape. We created a design and decided on the plants and focal points. They were very patient and accommodating with us choosing plants and offered good suggestions/advice.
