Orange Leaf is a new self-serve frozen yogurt joint in Springfield, MO. There are over 16 different flavors to choose from and a variety of toppings that you can add yourself. The toppings range from fresh fruit (pineapples, strawberries, kiwis...) to various candies and candy bars. The price is 33 cents an ounce. So how much you pay is all dependent on how much you get. The deal is, you get a bowl and fill it with however much frozen yogurt you want. Next, add the toppings you would like and then put it on the scale to weigh it and get your price. After trying a few flavors, I decided to go with chocolate/peanut butter. I think a lot of people might go with frozen yogurt because it's healthier and a lot of their products are low fat...that being said after you add all the toppings you are just cancelling that out so go in and have fun with it. The decor is very modern and clean looking. Staff was friendly. Kinda in a weird location. We only found it because Pineapple Whip was closed. Painfully difficult process working with the staff here. It probably be aventagious to run a business with a manager or at least someone over the age of 25 on the floor. Out of hot fudge because someone didn't care to do prep work. No standard flavor of chocolate. Limited toppings. My greatest concern was the lack of both covid and general health protocols. Nobody was whipping down the handles to the ice cream machine, serving toppings with no gloves on. It was an unfortunate experience and I'll avoid this location in the future. read more

Pretty much everyone in Springfield is shitting their goddamn pants about Orange Leaf these days. I was expecting fireworks to shoot out of my eyes on first taste. We went and enjoyed it, but I didn't quite understand the hype. Yes, they have several different types of frozen yogurt, and lots of different toppings, but.... it's still...frozen yogurt. How this is different from any other yogurt/ice cream/custard place, I'm not sure. Here's how it works: you go in, pick a cup, fill it with yogurt, and put toppings on it. Then you weigh the results and they charge you based on that. It's fairly economical. But again, it's yogurt with toppings. Not quite a revolution, ya know? Let's get this straight: in regards to taste, price, and options, Orange Leaf rocks the house. In regards to environment, not so much. Just like any other fro-yo joint, you've got rows of self-serve frozen yogurt in a plethora of both traditional and unexpected flavors. You also have the ability to mix the pairs together, which is especially nice if combos like Chocolate and Peanut Butter or Strawberry and Red Velvet are available. I'm a fan of the fruity, tart flavors, and the pomegranate yogurt was delish. I also got watermelon, which tasted a lot like Bubble Yum. Not my cup of tea, but probably really tasty for kids. Anyway, after you serve yourself as much as you want of the yogurt, you top it with fruits, cereals, crushed candy bars, and other normal ice cream toppers, including caramel, chocolate, and strawberry sauces. I got a sort of granola bar combination, with strawberries, raspberries and blackberries, blueberries, granola, and chocolate chips. This is my usual at frozen yogurt places, and Orange Leaf didn't blow me away in particular, but it certainly didn't disappoint either. To a certain extent, reviewing self-serve frozen yogurt places are kind of futile, considering YOU are the one making the food. So, here's the bottom line for Orange Leaf: #1 PRO: Cost At 33 cents per ounce, 2 or 3 bucks will get you a good-sized snack. Their prices are at least 10 cents lower than the fro-yo places on the coasts, which is one of the only perks about living in the midwest. #1 Con: Environment You feel like you're in a daycare. Everything is bright white, orange, and green, which would seem cute, except those are basically the only colors in the entire store. The furniture they provide (all of which are in these colors) consist of short, chunky, plastic midget chairs with matching midget tables. The lighting is bright and florescent. And the crowd it attracts are mainly junior high and high school kids with their middle-aged parents. Lovely. So, if you're looking for a quaint after-dinner date spot, go somewhere else. If you just want some cheap frozen yogurt with friends, Orange Leaf is the way to go. read more

Orange Leaf is a really good place. They have over 10 flavors of fro-yo you can choose from (ranging from watermelon, peanut butter, tart, you name it) and they have numerous toppings to choose from! Skittles, gummy bears, including these little orange balls that pop juice into your mouth at first bite. My only issue is that their seating could be better, and it is a little crowded. But otherwise, awesome place. They charge you by the ounce (33 cents, I believe) so you don't pay for anything you don't want. They come in these fairly large sized cups. Our new treat spot! Not a bad price for great selections that seem to rotate pretty regularly. The downside is it can become unhealthy pretty quick once you start adding all the toppings. The upside is; NO MORE SCALES!! Which means you pay a flat price for your cup instead of guesstimating how many ounces you're at "which it should be just a flat fee." Place tends to get crowded after dinner, but lucky haven't had a hard time finding a spot to chill yet, and eat. This could be easily remedied with another location. ;) I love the seating too, lounge style couches, and the Disney channel always on in the background for ambients. Very progressive chill place a child or adult can enjoy, and who ever thought of the spoon that resembles a shovel is a genius! The yogurt flavors are amazing "seriously all of them" but you can sample before you pick. To be honest a few flavors taste exactly like their descriptions, and will fool you into thinking it's soft serve and not yogurt; probably because they use real ingredients in their frozen treats. The only thing I like about orangeleaf is they give all kinds of discounts. If you really want real yogurt made of real dairy and real natural fruits, come to FruityLand. Their products are Live & Active cultures certifed, KOSHER certifed and you can really tell the difference between real fruits vs. powder.
