I spent half an hour explaining how I wanted my tree pruned, explaing how i suspected termite activity and would like to see proof if there was, pointing to exactly where I wanted the branches cut, only for them to end up butchering my tree. I was also upset at myself because i was only going to get a quote, i had just came off a night 12hr shift, but he inisisted and insisted to let him do the work right then and there, and I was so exhausted that I gave in. He said he wouldn't use loud machines and that they'd be quiet. Which was a lie. They worked on my tree three years ago and it still upsets me when I look up at my tree and see how they butchered it. It was 2 yrs 3 months ago exactly. Like i said, i still look up and get upset everytime I see my tree which is why I wrote the review. And I specifically asked you to show me signs of termite activity if you did find any. When I went outside to see why you were letting large branches fall on my roof, you said you found termites but had nothing to show me. Like I said I spent 30+ minutes giving instructions and yet you couldn't follow them. And you didnt finish the job because I paid you and I asked you to leave. To be upfront, this review is not about the quality of their work as I never had the opportunity to see it because of their lack of professionalism. Having moved to our new home recently, we are in the process of looking for a landscaper to perform general cleanup work, repair our irrigation system, and see what could be done to return grass to our yard as the previous owners left it in neglect. I set an appointment this past Tuesday for yesterday between. 1pm-3pm to come out to provide an estimate. Yesterday, I reached out to confirm their arrival after 3pm ; It wasn't until after their scheduled arrival time that they reached out to say that they lost track of time. His crew made quick work of trimming the 2 trees in my backyard and did not leave a mess. They arrived at 07:00am and were done by 10:00am. They used pruners and hand saws for most of it so there were no loud chainsaws all morning. I am very disappointed with Marcos. When our project was done- big project as i spent $$, 3 days after I noticed there were missing sprinklers. I called him right away to inform him. He promised to come back and address all my concerns- misisng sprinklers, weeds are coming out everywhere! Also a week later we started to see a lot of the plants dying. He also promised to give me some solar lights for the front yard. I have attempted several times to contact him. He gave me promises after promises. It's important to me that the trimmer doesn't spike my trees (so that you see the spike marks in the trunk) and uses a ladder whenever possible. I walked over and talked with Marcos from Orange County Tree Patrol. He was friendly and walked over to quote my job. I explained to him my concerns with spiking the trees and wanted a fair price. He showed up with his crew and a huge trailer to haul away all the debris. I walked them through what needed to be done and they went to work. These guys work quick! I had additional requests to take down some branches on my Kentucky Coffeetree and Marcos agreed to do it with no hesitation. He also counseled me on which branches should be removed and advised me to completely remove a Mexican palm tree that grew on its own.
