Three days ago we had Nick, Alex and Roman show up to move us. They did perfect. I am going to give you some tips to make it go as perfectly as we did. 1. Go over in extreme detail what you are going to move. This way they have the right number of people and the right size truck. We had an average amount of stuff for a family of 4 living in a 2 bedroom condo, with boxes and bikes in our garage, but still enough room to park the car. We did NOT have them move a fridge, washer or dryer. It was a long distance move so three people was was the perfect amount. Remember you are paying them while they drive X 2. 2. Give them directions to your house besides them using the GPS. You are paying by the hour, so if they get lost you pay while they go in circles. 3. Let the moving company know you are going to write a detailed review in yelp. I told them I wanted their best crew, and that I would write a detailed review in yelp. I did not say a good one or a bad one, just a detailed review. 4. When the guys get there ask them what they want for lunch. Let them know you are going to write a detailed review on yelp. This sets the expectations higher. By Asking about food right from the beginning they know you are generous. Spending $20 on Chipotle for all three of them is well worth them knowing the whole day you will take care of them. 5. Treat everyone involved with courtesy and respect. Remember the movers are the ones watching what you do all day and handling your stuff. If you yell or are rude to your kids, your spouse, the neighbors, or the movers, they know you don't care about people, so they will have that on their minds while working. I know this because they specifically commented to us how nice we were to each other and how refreshing that was. 6. Actually buy them that nice lunch. They will feel appreciated. They also need to be fed. You burn thousands of calories moving someone's stuff, so need fuel. 7. Have lots of cold water available. We offered them other drinks, but they all wanted water because it was healthier they said. 8. Offer them a great dinner at the end. By great we spent $15 an BBQ'd a bunch of chicken and had a salad. This is not required. By them knowing you are doing this, they also will be more motivated to do a good job. 9. Tip them according to how well they did. There was something on one of the other movers websites about tip amounts which was bizarrely high. After a lot of research on the internet we came up with the following. Everything moved perfectly, no damage, no damage to walls or stuff at all, then 20%. If they really destroyed a lot of stuff then 0%. And adjust in between. We gave 20% for a PERFECT job. NOTHING was broken or scratched. BONUS TIP Let them know which things are valuable to you and which are not. Tell them when moving the valuable stuff to take their time, go slow, DON'T SCRATCH IT AT ALL!! but said nicely. Then at your new home, tell them the same thing. If you want to protect your walls, tell them to GO SLOW, AND DON'T SCRATCH THE WALLS. Then when they do the important stuff, watch every move. If you are watching, they know you care, and will do a better job. We all do. In the end they got it all done in about 10 hours. The drive was two hours, so they double that, and charged us for 12. We paid $125 per hour. Then we gave each guy a $100 bill as a tip. The food that seemed so over the top generous cost us about $30 total, but made a huge impact in their minds. Our brand new house stayed perfect. None of our stuff got the slightest scratch. They loved us so I did not worry about anything during the whole day. Ask for Nick and ask for his best crew. Show Nick this review and tell him you are going to follow it to the letter. Then get them something spectacular for lunch with a lot of protein. Watch them do their thing. My boyfriend and I decided it was time to move into a bigger place as our tiny apartment was getting too cramped. We found the perfect place about 30 miles away from our old apartment, so we eagerly started packing. As moving day rapidly approached, we become overwhelmed by all the boxes, furniture, and appliances we needed to move. To make matters worse, my boyfriend who is a repair man, fell down an elebator shaft at work and broke his arm. Because we had already made all the the arrangements with our employers, utilities, and our landlord, it was too late to change our moving date. Despite our efforts and planning, everything seemed to be turning into one major disaster. It was clear we needed help with our move so I quickly sought out the help of some local movers that could help us on short notice. My friend told me about a Santa Ana Movers moving company and how they helped her parents move into their new house. Her parents were pleased with their service and rates, so I decided to give them a call. Later that day I contacted the Santa Ana Movers and talked to Alex. After I explained my crazy situation, Alex assured me that everything would be taken care of. He explained how they could help and then he gave me a reasonable moving estimate. I happily accepted, satisfied with the arrangement and was able to relax before the big moving day. When moving day arrived, I was happily greeted by Alex and Steve. Movers were very professional and polite, arriving on time and eager to get started. Movers carried out our furniture, maneuvering all the twists and turns of the apartment building hallways and doorways. When they began loading all of the boxes you could see they were handling them carefully and loaded them onto the truck. When they finished moving everything, We were able to enjoy being in our new home without being exhausted and stressed like previous moves I've had. When we unpacked our boxes we found that nothing was damaged and there wasn't even a scratch on our furniture or appliances! Alex and Steve did a wonderful job and we won't hesitate to contact them if we move again. Movers have fantastic customer service and were very friendly and helpful throughout our move. If you are moving in the Santa Ana area, I highly recommend them as they are totally the best movers around! I contacted two other moving companies, who also received 5-stars, where one couldn't be bothered to even return my phone call and the other seemed as though I was inconveniencing him when asking him for a quote. So it was refreshing to get an email quote from Selena that was very easy to read that let me know the moving rate and how many movers I could expect to arrive on the day I wanted to move. The day before the move, I received an email and a phone call confirming the move and all the pertinent details. This was extremely helpful as I was very busy and scatter brained that day. It is nice to have a company remind customers of an upcoming move as the time before most moves are often quite chaotic. This was a very positive sign of things yet to come. At the appointed hour the next day, I received a phone call that the moving crew had arrived and were waiting outside for me. I was greeted by three friendly guys: Val, Peter, and Mark. After a quick introduction and some paperwork, we walked around the house and I showed them everything that needed to be packed and moved out. Val (Lead) took a mental note, had a quick team meeting, and set the guys to task. The overall move could not have gone any smoother as they traveled about in an organized manner. They packed and moved everything really quickly and carefully ensuring to not damage my household items by wrapping everything in plastic and blankets. They worked efficiently and timely to guarantee that they did not either take too long or work too quickly packing or unpacking everything. After everything was done, Val finished up with the paperwork and again showed me the "official" clock showing the stop time to confirm that the duration of time for which I was going to be billed. He went through the entire bill, step by step and confirmed that I was indeed satisfied with their services. I expressed both to him and the rest of the guys that I was and told them that when I eventually moved again, I hoped that I was able to use their services again. I can't say enough great things about the company, Selena, and the moving crew: Val, Peter, and Mark. I highly recommend anyone looking for a moving company to put OC Moving Services at the top of their list of companies to call for a quote. I chose this moving company based in the high ratings. I moved 3 years ago with a different company and was unhappy with the company so wanted to find a better mover. The staff of 5 men were courteous and polite and showed up in time. Nothing was broken. They did not bring enough garment boxes, despite my reminder when confirming. When I reserved them for my move, I told them how many rooms and square feet and was told they would send the largest truck. This truck ended up being about half the size of trucks used by companies in my last 2 moves. I am unhappy that because of this I ended up paying for TWELVE hours of moving. And, to make it worse, they left several items behind they said would not fit in the truck. (I had to figure out how to go back later with someone who had a truck after I had just paid $2,000 for my move). I should point out that I had a big house, almost 3,500 square feet with 7 beds (blended family), but feel the ridiculously small truck added to the longest and most expensive day of my life. The most polite movers could not fix this huge problem. Since posting the above, I have been contacted by OC Moving. They have been very apologetic and professional and listened. They have said they would be making changes so that this is a unique experience. They even reimbursed 2 hours of my moving expenses. They heard me out and seemed to sincerely care that my experience was less than perfect. Therefore, I've changed my rating from 3 to 4 stars. read more

UPDATE: 12FEB2015 After viewing my review and knowing I was somewhat dissatisfied, OC Moving Services reached out to me. Specifically, a gentleman by the name of, Surge B. He apologized for the remark relating to my scuffs and nicks and went over the exact hours the movers worked. He agreed that I had been overcharged and immediately refunded a full hour. After chatting about the scuffs and nicks, he again apologized and offered satisfactory compensation. To clarify another of my issues, I had initially stated that it took OC Moving Services 1 hour to drive the moving distance, whereas it only took me 30 minutes. Surge took the time to explain how trucks can only go a maximum of 55 mph, and that the distance (from google maps) did fit the driving time reasonably. This company is first-class. The move, in retrospect, went absolutely well -- what should've been a stressful day was definitely assuaged by the professionalism and work ethic of OC Moving Services. Now that I know they didn't take the scenic route, and that they will jump on the phone and take care of you, I have to give my best and most confident referral. They are a 5-Star Service. What fantastic customer appreciation and attention. I applaud the way they handle their customers and will certainly use them again if I need to move. When I moved back to OC for school, I couldn't find reliable help because it was during the holidays, but a friend was able to recommend OC Moving Services and they responded right away. I had a lot of questions since I'm new to using a moving company, but they were always readily available to pick up my calls and were so helpful. I was hesitant especially because moving your things from city to city is an extremely stressful process, but they made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. I had extremely heavy couches, an Ikea bed frame (very easy to damage if you have experience with Ikea furniture), and a huge fragile TV. I'm really impressed by how the whole team arrived early (enough so that I didn't have to wonder if they were going to be late), had all the proper equipment, wrapped all my valuables, and carefully handled the larger items. Nothing was even scuffed through the transport from Westwood to my new place in Garden Grove. The entire team was professional and asked questions about every detail from which items I wanted in first and where I wanted them to set everything in my new place. I am extremely grateful of how quick and smooth this process was. I would recommend this to anyone looking to make their move easy. If I ever have to relocate again, I would definitely use this Cypress Movers moving company. My career required that I move to Maryland from the West Coast, so I hired long distance movers. They were very helpful, and professional as well. No damage was caused to any of my belongings, and believe me I had concerns. I have several antiques that are precious to me. They were handed down from my great-great aunt, and had something happened to them, I don't think I would've forgiven the movers, or myself. Since the eight hour drive would eat up most of my day, I was extremely relieved when the movers were on time. The trip was long, but when we arrived the guys greeted me the same way they had at 8 that morning. They were very polite and courteous. I'd never had that experience before with any other movers. There weren't any hidden fees, but as you can imagine moving over 350 miles was a bit costly. It was worth every penny. I visited the apartment office and got my apartment keys, by the time I had done this the guys had already started moving smaller items outside. The furniture was all in the house and in place within the next two and a half hours! This was not only the best, but the quickest move I have ever had the pleasure of completing. Although I had a great first experience with OC Moving Services (and gave a 5 star rating at that time), my recent second experience was extremely disappointing. The movers--Estephen ("Steven") in particular, and to a lesser extent Santiago--were noticeably careless. My furniture was repeatedly banged against walls, a lamp was broken, heavy items were dropped instead of being placed down carefully, and several pieces of furniture were left incompletely assembled. On top of that, the movers took long breaks in the truck between hauls and were generally inefficient. I shared my concerns politely and offered constructive feedback, but was met with blank stares and no response. About an hour after the move was completed, I received a call from a staff member informing me that movers had reported I was undercharged and owed an additional $35. When I asked for clarification, it became clear that the movers had misrepresented the amount I had already paid--which was, in fact, the correct total. It left me wondering if this was a dishonest attempt to pocket extra money. While I believe the company overall may still have good employees, the inconsistency in mover quality, coupled with carelessness and dishonesty, makes it a risk I'm not willing to take again. Absolutely outstanding moving services! Was able to schedule with only a few days notice at the end of the month on a Saturday. Had 2 guys come and they were very strong and super fast. I could not keep up with them. They got me moved in 3 hours to my new place which was about 35-40min away. I had lots of boxes, bed that needed to be unassembled and reassembled, heavy large coffee table, dining table, a bunch of stuff in several moving boxes, lots of odds and ends stuff, and several very large planters. They took very good care of everything. Nothing was broken or damaged in the move. Not only did these guys work extremely hard in the heat but they were fast! They never complained about any of the items being heavy. Great fun personalities! Very trustworthy! Just leave the move to them. They will wrap everything and get you moved fast! The price was fair as I got a discount for paying in cash and using the yelp deal. I didn't compare to any other moving service but whatever it costed I didn't care because these guys were worth every cent and then some! The guy who scheduled the service and took the calls was also great and provided good communication. So glad I chose OC moving services! My family moved last Thursday 9/24/15. It was during the heat wave and we lived in a 3rd floor walk up. Vlad, Ahmad and Rafael did a great job! They were very careful with our things. They shrink wrapped everything breakable/scratchable for protection. They wrapped our flat screen with blankets and shrink wrap, they wrapped our sectional for protection as well. Ahmad also took apart and put back together our huge IKEA bed frame for us. It did take a little longer than we imagined, but on a 100 degree day with 3 flights of stairs plus them taking such care of our things by wrapping them, that was understandable. This company also provides wardrobe boxes for your clothes! Just take hanging clothes out of the closet, hang them in the boxes and then hang them up in the new place!!! So helpful! Also, for IKEA furniture owners, we kept our bookshelves together and they shrink wrapped and moved them with no breakage. Also, we moved into a house with all wood floors that needed protection, they patiently held up all the heavy furniture so that I could put the little felt protectors on the bottoms of each one. They had a great attitude throughout the entire move and worked tirelessly to make sure that everything was packed up and moved safely. One thing that really stood out to me was how organized they were. I can honestly say this was the best part of the entire moving process. I was very nervous because it seemed like such a big job, but these 3 guys (Val, Israel, & Vlady) arrived on time and ready to work. Here are the main things you need to know: 1. They were EXTREMELY polite. Asked if they could take breaks (which they only took a few over the course of 10 hours). You would think since they are being paid by the hour they would take their time. Not at all! Couldn't believe how fast and efficient they worked. 2. Nothing was broken. Repeating NOTHING was broken. 3. They were so incredibly sweet to my baby & dog! 4. The rates were incredibly reasonable. I paid $119 cash per hour. Without a doubt worth it. 5. They wrapped every single item carefully. Brought wardrobe boxes that made it really easy to move clothing. 6. They disassembled multiple pieces of furniture to fit through narrow doors, and once at the new place reassembled it. I wouldn't have even known they took it apart, except I watched them! Bottom line, you will not regret hiring these guys. True professionals in every way. Thank You!!!
