I know that Orange County KTM has had some reviews that were less than favorable. However, today I needed their help with a possible dead battery on my 2018 KTM 1290R. I had the bike towed there and Horace and Ethan made time for me and took the bike to the back immediately to evaluate it. They determined the battery was bad and put in a lithium ion battery!!! I walked in interested in purchasing a Aprilia from this dealership since it's local to me. But I would avoid purchasing from here. The owner Horace is a grumpy man and the way he handles customers and answers questions doesn't make you feel good about buying from them! All the reviews about him are true. The dude can't handle that shop! Was working with me then answers phone calls in a middle of a deal! Then someone walks in and instead of finishing with me... stops and proceeds to help someone else. It is ok to have the new person wait till you're finished with the current customer you're workin with. I will be taking my business elsewhere and forgot this place exists! Well after giving this shop multiple tries, it's time to let the people know.. Before I start, just read the reviews and you'll see a common theme that I also experienced. And if you're looking for a KTM or service for your bike, save yourself the trouble and go to 3bros in Costa Mesa. Or for Aprilia, take your business to MotoClub in LA. Let's get into it.. Since 2018 I've taken my KTM here a few times, as I live close by, to get service. From my experience during those times they ended up taking a little longer than expected, but what stood out was they would never update me on what was going on. It wasn't til I called them after multiple days to get an update. The prices seemed kinda high, but as a new rider I thought maybe that was just the market. It wasn't until I tried 3bros that I realized I was making the wrong decision taking my bike to OC KTM. Since then I stopped taking my KTM there and stuck with 3bros. Fast forward a few years later, I was in the market for an Aprilia. I found out OC KTM had recently become an Aprilia dealership, so I got a quote on a new bike. To no surprise, Horace quoted me 1k higher than any other Aprilia dealership, so I took my business to MotoClub in Santa Monica to save myself the trouble of dealing with Horace. After getting my Aprilia, I had a warranty issue that needed to be corrected, so in an attempt to save myself the trip to Santa Monica, I decided to give them another shot since they're the only Aprilia shop in OC. After telling Horace about the warranty issue, he asked me where I got the bike then proceeded to talk down on MotoClub as if they were some sketchy shop (oh the irony..) Well to no surprise, I got no updates and had to call them. Horace seems to work the sales and Anthony and Ethan handle service. When calling in to speak to service, and they weren't available, Horace would take down my info and say they'll call me back... well as expected I never got a call back. After going to pick up my bike, I noticed my grip was completely torn from when they put the straps on for the lift. I showed Horace and he instantly became defensive telling me that Aprilia's stock grips were brittle and they were garbage and took me inside to point out new bikes that already had "cracks". Regardless of the quality, I handed the bike over to them with the grips completely intact and received the bike back with completely torn grips... of course they didn't replace them and let me go on my way. I left knowing Horace wasn't going to help and called a few days later to speak to Anthony about the situation. He told me he would submit a warranty claim for the grips and would let me know.. well again never called me back and I decided to take the loss myself and buy new grips. Call me a fool, but after experiencing a new issue with my Aprilia, I attempted to save myself time and give them another try. They told me they were 1-2 weeks behind which I was fine with. Well, 3 weeks later I still had no update and gave them a call. They told me they couldn't replicate the issue and even took the bike out for a ride to replicate the issue. So after sending them picture and videos of the issue, they submitted a claim to Aprilia. Again weeks on end, no update. Finally calling them again, I was told the claim was denied and I could pick up the bike. 6 weeks total of waiting and no resolution. Not even five hours after picking up the bike, the issue started again.. I took a look at my invoice and saw the mileage in and mileage out was exactly the same. Thought they told me they took the bike out for a test ride to replicate the issue? That was enough, took my bike to MotoClub and they instantly knew the issue and got it handled. If it wasn't for the absolute dishonest communication and service, high prices, and terrible service time I'd go back... oh wait.. that's all you ask for from shop. Don't come here. read more

I was communicating with the supposed owner/president Horace Vega aka used car salesman extraordinaire for a week prior to my visit. I got there before they opened and there was only one customer ahead of me. After they opened their doors, I walked in and was greeted by James. James was very friendly, helpful and is an asset to the company. I asked to see the bike I was interested in. James located the bike and brought it outside so I could check it out, start it up and take it for a test ride. About 20 minutes after they opened, Horace pulls up, says they are short handed today and told James to take the bike back inside without even letting me check it out let alone take it for a test ride. After James brought it back inside, Horace didn't acknowledge me again for at least an hour all the while several customers after me walked in and he helped them. Horace finally acknowledged me again and said well are you interested? I said yes, I would like to take it for a test ride. He said I'm gonna need you to sign a waiver and get a copy of your drivers license. I said no problem. Horace then walked away to take care of other business like phone calls and customers walking in the door after me. Horace came back and said let's go over the numbers and gave me an OTD price that was over $1k more than what he told me via email. I showed him the email and he said he must have left out a fee. After waiting around for about an hour and a half total just to take a test ride, I was done at that point and walked out the door. A week later, I got a price alert for $2k less than I was quoted OTD. What a joke! Go to 3BROSKTM where they take care of their customers and don't charge ADM and other BS fees. Everyone has their strong suits, but being an Aprilia dealer is not one of them here. Bought my Tuono in for 3 tasks. Fix the license plate light, replace a rivnut in subframe for a seat bolt that stripped, install the exhaust flapper cable and program servo endpoints for an SC slipon. They took all those jobs on noting the never had "good luck" with servo cables. Weird but ok, they quoted 2 weeks. Had to call at 2 weeks for status, and everything was done but the cables...guys are out sick...holidays...someone slipped on a banana peel song and dance. Stop in a week later after no call again, still no progress on the cables...same song about not feeling lucky and now there's no Aprilia tech on staff all of a sudden so they would rather not do the service. If they did, the owner would do the service himself (he's not a tech?). No way. So I go to pick it up and they call just before about not having a bolt in the seat...which was there (strange call if that was already repaired a week back)...10 mins later another call, my battery is dead they need to charge it. After spending 3 weeks and 250 on a fuse and a rivnut, I get it back and notice tiny "drop tool" like dents all over my tank on both sides. To small on a black tank to take a good photo but irritating on a 25k bike, should have taken photos beforehand. Owner is kind of confrontational..so not bothering with dealing with it. On the plus side he came out to do a quick check before I split and the rear seat cowl wasn't latched...so that at least saved me more heartburn. All this is unfortunate since I had already promoted them on social media at the start of all this. If you go here, which I frankly don't recommend, take pictures of everything and if they tell you they haven't had good luck with doing something...you should probably run. Brought it to a proper dealer 2 hours away in Glendale for the servo cables (and now USB) they're like no problem and said "it has nothing to do with luck" lol. Couldn't agree more. Also said they would have likely done the rivnut for free, like a 5min job. My last dealer did it for free as well, as the other seat rivnut spun in the subframe previously. There's a huge difference in dealers around here FYI, choose carefully. Sometimes it's worth driving a little further for good service. read more

I was in the market for a new bike and despite seeing some not-so-great reviews decided to give this place a try as I try to avoid spending money at large 'Mega Mall' dealerships. I'm glad I did as a few days later I took delivery of my new KTM Duke from these guys. Here's some things you should know: PRO's: * Small dealership but they have a large inventory * Good prices on parts. Prices were comparable to on-line sellers and arrived quickly. * Friendly sales staff, Anthony really went out of his way to make me a good deal on a new bike. * No added fee's like the 'Mega Mall's' like to add. * No endless back-and-forth negotiations. * Delivery took an hour. Paperwork, bike prep and test, helped me load it in my truck, all in 58 minutes. * All bike purchases come with a lifetime 10% discount on parts and accessories. That's a huge benefit for owners of imported Austrian MC's which use parts which are expensive regardless of where you get them. CON's: * They're busy. I think they have two salespeople. Got questions, they'll answer them but don't expect to be greeted at the door with a Cappuccino and a Scone. Both times I was there they were prepping bikes for delivery, answering phone calls from potential customers, taking and filling parts orders. * Horace, well he can be very direct. I happen to like that but I can see how his attitude would rub some people the wrong way. If you're easily offended or need to pet a puppy in order to make a decision, shop elsewhere. * My new bike came with just a splash of fuel. Would have been nice to get a full-tank with a new bike but it also gave me an excuse (like I needed one) to ride my new bike as soon as I got home LOL! SOLID Customer service. I called after hours and (presumably the owner) answered. I needed a specific part for my 2021 Husqvarna 701SM that was backordered for months everywhere. He went out of his way to follow-up with me the next day. Even though he didn't have it in stock he connected me with two other locations in different states (including Puerto Rico!) that had it listed in stock. The part was less than $200 and he wouldn't have made a profit off the referral to other shops but went out of the way. That's the example of service I preach to my sales guys. To make a long story short do yourself a favor and find a different ktm dealer, the owner is a piece of work that while you are making the purchase acts like your best friend and tell you what you want to hear and as soon as he has your money and you walk out the door acts like you are a huge inconvenience. ***AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU CAN! EXTREMELY SLOW SERVICE, POOR QUALITY OF WORK, OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE*** I went WAY out of my way to come here to give them a shot. There are other places MUCH closer to me. I normally went to KTM of Murrieta, but they recently closed their location. Very bummed out, I wanted to look for another "KTM" dealer, not a big Motorsports store (no offense to them). KTM of Murrieta was ALWAYS outstanding in ALL their departments. I've purchased two motorcycles there, did all the maintenance there, bought parts and accessories there, and they always gave me any bike they had to use while they worked on my bikes. I would have kept going there if they were still open. So I decided to give Orange County KTM a shot at my business as my wife and I are KTM riders. Needless to say they failed to gain two loyal KTM customers. We'll go somewhere much closer to us even if it's a big Motorsports store. I went there which is over an hours ride away to get my rear tire changed. I had already bought the tire and brought it with me. All they had to do was change the rear tire and call it good. Easy quick task right? Well not here. Originally I called to set up an appointment and they said it'd take an hour and a half to two hours. I thought okay, a bit long to change a tire but whatever. Previous experiences at KTM of Murrieta it'd take less than a hour. Even with front and rear tire changes. It took Orange County KTM 4 HOURS... yes 4 HOURS to change the rear tire. AND it cost $130 to change the tire... keep in mind, I had already bought my tire and brought it with me... $130 to change the tire... that's insane. I'll put it this way, KTM of Murrieta charged me less than half that for BOTH tires!!! And here's the kicker....!!! They finally finish their work after four hours and $130 payment, I do a look around and it all looks good. Less than 5 minutes down the road on my way home, my low tire light comes on!!! What in the world? I pull over and check it. They set my rear tire at 30psi!!! That's 12psi LESS than what's supposed to be in there. IT'S EVEN POSTED ON THE FRAME OF MY BIKE, 42PSI!! They are a KTM dealership, they should know this stuff and not make stupid mistakes like this. I was so pissed off by the whole experience! When I got home I noticed they left the residue from the old weight balancers on the rims and installed new ones. They could have removed the old residue but didn't I won't be going back to Orange County KTM. Poor service on my bike, and expensive on maintenance I wish KTM of Murrieta was still open. They are 100 times better than Orange County KTM. Corporate KTM, bring the Murrieta location back!!! read more

I'd like to start off by saying it really takes a lot for me to write a business a bad review, usually I will bite my tongue but this dealer really got under my skin. About 4 months ago I came by interested in buying a KTM rc390 and asked to arrange a test ride. Horace took down my info and told me he would get in touch to schedule a test ride. Never heard from him. I found a very low mileage 2017 rc390 from a private party seller I ended up test riding and buying. The bike only had about 700 miles on it and was under warranty for another year. The check engine light came on after about 100 miles so naturally I took it to the dealer to have it looked at. Right off the bat Horace seemed upset that I didn't buy the bike from him and told me he could have gave me a better deal, etc, etc. I asked them to take a look at it since it was still under warranty. He charged me $50 to diagnose the bike which was still under warranty. They "fixed" the issue and it came right back the next day. I took it back to them and and they had the bike for over a month before they were able to fix a small wiring issue from the factory. I never got any updates, I would call them about once a week and would get the run around. A couple months later I noticed the kick stand was very loose and about to fall off. I called and explained that one of the bolts had backed out and the other was just barely still in there. I asked to schedule an appointment, he took down my info to call me back and once again, I never heard anything from him. I tightened up the bolt that was still there and was on my way for about another month or so. Today I noticed the chain was very loose and brought it by to have it adjusted and cleaned, which I happily paid $50 for. While I was there I mentioned that one of the kick stand bolts had fallen out and asked if they could replace it. He said he would take care of it but then tried to charge me an extra $25 in labor for replacing a .50 cent bolt that takes about a minute to thread in. I said "no thanks I'll just go buy another bolt and do it myself". He ended up replacing it for the cost of the bolt but I also got a lecture on how valuable his time is, how he charges $95 an hour for labor and "when I get older I'll understand the value of time". This is so unprofessional and such a terrible way to run a business. I saw the bad reviews here but didn't think I would personally have any issues with Horace / Orange County KTM but I was clearly wrong. Take my advice and stay away... read more

Hey people ... this is the most simple form of communication. If they can't even handle this ... can you imagine the endless issues you would have from this dealership? This has not been the best experience. I work crazy hours and most local shops are closed the days I'm off. I don't have time to go into the store and nobody carries the part I need. So... On Saturday 2/19 I called in to OC KTM for a part, was offered a call back and nothing. Called back later and started over with someone else and was able to give my card info and address to ship direct to my home. They said it would get ordered Monday and arrive to me by Thursday. All was good. Nothing came all week so on Saturday 2/26 when I was free again I called back. No record of my order so I started all over again. Got it ordered and all. Shared my card info AGAIN and this time was told it would order Monday and show up to me by Wednesday. All was good. Nothing came all week AGAIN. So today Saturday 3/5 I call in, get hung up on after saying why I was calling and called back to get the owner. He takes my name and puts me on hold to pull up my info...in the background I hear him selling a bike and going over warranty and paperwork info. Comes back into the line and tells me his computer is being slow and asks for my info all over again. He tells me he'll have to look into it and call me back. I share my complaints of my experience and he seems he could careless and blames a trainee. At this point they all seem like trainees in customer service, owner included. I ask him to cancel the order because last night I was tired of the headache and went on Rocky Mountain ATV and ordered all I needed super easy. Was just hopeful and trying to give the locals my business. SURPRISINGLY I get a call back from not the owner, but sounded like the trainee. He confirms the order and that it will be here probably Monday and THEN they would ship to my place. So really it sounds like they took payment but order didn't ship. They proceed to tell me now it's too late to cancel my order. All this over an $18 part. Maybe that's why they don't feel the need to take care of it. ‍ Really frustrating. We will see if it arrives. Feeling like I should have stuck to online ordering. I see now why they have 3 stars. 1 star is shallow so 2 star rating here. Maybe 3 if it shows up next week. read more

It's a simple fix they can do in shop that wouldn't even cost them any money and maybe 2 minutes to fix. While out looking to buy my first KTM I visited many dealers. Most dealers have the same setup where you get approached by a sales person and often they have very limited knowledge of the motorcycle. If you do find the bike you are looking for the games start with the back & forth on pricing. Orange County KTM is different. It's more old school. I dealt directly with the owner (Horace) who is extremely knowledgeable & helpful. Didn't feel like it's a hard sale and I was given many options to choose from. He genuinely wanted to make a deal that worked for both of us and there was no one else he had to go check with to make a decision (unlike most other dealers). It was a refreshing experience.
