Finally finished the break-in on my Ninja 500 yesterday and while I'm no stranger to wrenching/tinkering with vehicles, I wanted the initial service done right by professionals since this is my first "real" bike. I originally planned to bring the bike back to the dealer where I bought it from since they gave me a discount for buying the bike through them, but even with a discount the service at the dealership was significantly more versus Motorcycle Addicts which was much more reasonably priced. I saved money, didn't have to ride almost 30 miles away, and got to support a small local business instead of a mega dealer. Plus they're less than a mile away from my work. No brainer. I dropped off my bike around 10:30 this morning and was ready about an hour later since there was a lift available. When I got back, Johnathan gave me a rundown of what was done to my bike and adjustments he had made. Thankfully nothing was out of the ordinary which one should expect with a new bike! Johnathan and Alex were both friendly and professional which I'm thankful for. Much respect to them for that. In my experience, certain hobbies tend to have toxic gatekeeper types. I feel like motorcycling is one of those hobbies. It's intimidating to be new, especially when you're just starting out and eager to learn. Something to keep in mind is what shop does for a person that hasn't even spent a dime at their store. I have a 2023 BMW K1600GTL and had the misfortune of losing my keyless ride FOB while out trying to help my daughter with a car problem. I found my mechanic! These guys have been awesome the two times I have been in and they have got me in and out while I waited. It was nothing major, but they know what they are talking about and do not try to hide anything behind your back and price gouge. The second time I went in, was thinking $70, then after the initial look, he said $700, but then he did a little tinkering and found out it wasn't what he thought and then it was only $25 Highly recommend this place for quality work with fair pricing. I went to this motorcycle Addicts because i have problem with my akrapovic exhaust that i brought from my friend and it's not compatible with my z900 and the guy with beard he looks at it and said i can put it on for 350$ labor and 165$ for welder he can weld the spacer on the akrapovic he said becase the slip on is 63mm and i'm trying to put in on 51mm he said total 515$ for all come back tomorrow all done he said, but i said ok i will come back i will save some money for that first and i'm about to leave he came to Me and asking me if i want to buy his sc project not original slip on exhaust pipe he said you can install it by your self believe me he said, but i told him that i don't think so because the mid pipe is far then he said i can install it for 250$ i will cut all the unnecessary bots and (i will Make it sure it will fit properly and strap it) so i said can you make it 300$ for all instead 350$ to install and pipe he said yes i will, so he work on my bike and when he putting the sc project pipe he said (i cannot strap and he said i cannot do it with this chinese mid link pipe), i told him that's what i'm saying first of all that's why i agreed to you that you do it because you saw it already it's not really fit and you said you can do it to fit it and he know it's not really looking good and it's not safe because there's no strap on it, my pipe was hanging and away from the body of my motorcycle, then i told him i will come back tomorrow much better maybe we can weld it instead the he said it cost me a lot to that he said i said i will pay the welder just to look better, but he don't like it he said i will do what i can do just to put this pipe only and he knows that he cannot do properly but he still did just to earn money he don't care about you or your fucking bike just money they he put everything my pipe was hangin and i paid them before i go he said by him (self i don't like it how it was but sounds good) he knows it's not right, them before i go he said do you want to put it back the way you came here???
