Fun atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food is hit or miss. Some dishes are tasty, others fall flat. It's a decent place for a casual bite.

Paula was exceptional. She was so kind, attentive and friendly. We were seated and served quickly, which made the experience even better. The margaritas were amazing. They were not too sweet, had a strong pour, and the portion was generous. The ceviche was hands down my favorite. The serving size was huge and it was so good that I barely had room for my entrée. The carne asada tacos were tender, flavorful, and filling. The portion size was also very generous and we definitely ended up needing to-go boxes. The ambiance was great. We chose to sit outside and it was the perfect spot to relax and catch a vibe.

Margarita, chips and salsa, and a Modelo during Happy Hour

Stopped in for Happy Hour which runs from 3pm to 7pm and includes $4 margaritas and $3 beers. The margaritas are big and tasty! Chips and salsa served complimentary! The ambiance is nice, lots of decor. It was quiet when we came in around 4:45 (on a Monday) but picked up a little bit by 5:30. The only thing slightly lacking was service. We didn't know what the happy hour deals were and the server was not very informative and provided short responses. We couldn't find a happy hour menu on their tablet menus either. Would be helpful!

(Española abajo) Growing up in Los Angeles (a.k.a. Little Mexico), I've long appreciated and have high standards for what's "good Mexican food". I've been to this spot a few times, and its highest marks are definitely its location, outdoor and indoor seating availability, and interior decor; the service and food quality can be more variable. The murals and design of the space are absolutely top-notch, and the designers deserve their flowers! The menu, while vast, is fairly limited, especially with mix-and-match methods that are common in Mexican cuisine. For example, there's no option to have different tacos on the same plate, nor enchiladas, etc. I readily praise that the food this most recent time was fairly good, as the kitchen absolutely delivered and the deliciousness of my favorite type of tacos: al pastor! Also VERY refreshing that servers are allowed to bring FREE chips and salsa to the table as the first introduction, which is satisfying. The frozen margaritas and horchatas were really tasty too! The waitress was very kind and accommodated us when, for example, taking the taco dish w/o rice and beans won't, for some greedy capitalist reason, doesn't reduce the price. Because speaking of, it is always gonna be more expensive than you expect (and comparable places in LA, of all places, for example. So there is enough inconsistency and an inflexible menu for me not to give it 5 stars, if it's your first Mexican culinary adventure or you just want some convenient Mexican flair, this place will surely satisfy - especially the visual delights. Plus, it's in a walkable, easily accessible, multi-modal area with outdoor seating on a beautiful streetscape that makes it even better. Just get ready to pay a pretty penny.

Did take out. 6 soft tacos 3 chicken 3 carnitas = $43. Comes with a side of Spanish rice and a medium bag of chips, salsa and 2 refried beans. Nothing stand out a great value Nothing stand out but decent flavor in meat. Interior decor was interesting. Maybe a special night out as downtown Hollywood has good vibe.

Orale is located in downtown Hollywood with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is always good. I had the mixed meat fajitas served with refried beans and guacamole. Cooked to perfection. The only thing was that the dish was too salty for my taste. Comes with chips. Large menu with lots of choices. This is a great place for authentic Mexican food.

On busy Hollywood Boulevard this Mexican spot is quite close to a great authentic Mexican vibe, decor, drinks and food. The menu is everything Mexican. Great pricing with both food and drink menu. Outside seating was great because we could see the happenings of the street while enjoying our drinks and food. Went inside to use restrooms and didn't like the moldy smell but the bright colorful decor was beautiful. The drinks were huge, they had the tequila, they had the spice, they were refreshingly delicious. I love the Al pastor tacos and the fact they came wrapped up to stay warm and was warm a big plus. They had a singer/band so the vibe was great. Friendly attentive staff. Great food experience on a budget.

I loved everything about this place! Cosy spot in downtown Hollywood with eclectic decor, friendly service, sizable menu, a happy hour, authentic loaded Mexican food (leftovers for days), and free chips and salsa. I ordered the steak fajita taco salad, the shell was stuffed to the brim with deliciously marinated and seasoned fajita meat and veggies, friend had a chicken dish with the chicken taking up the whole plate! Great value, 10/10.

My friends and I came here after doing an escape room across the street and was so happy to see they have a great weekend happy hour. We got the house margaritas and a bunch of appetizers like their beans, shrimp ceviche, nachos, and guacamole. I love that they serve you a complimentary salsa and chips basket and it was so delicious. They were fast with the service and while there was a good amount of people enjoying, there was ample seating.

Went here after looking somewhere to eat after having coffee. It's a little on the expensive side for Mexican food in my opinion but the service and food are good. The menus are on Ipads which in hindsight isn't a great idea when ordering while outside and the sun beams on the menu. But it's a cute idea and I think we just had bad timing in using the menus. While ordering we were given chips and salsa which is expected for most Mexican restaurants. The salsa was decent and the chips were good. I ordered the steak fajitas and finished the tortillas with some of the fillings in it and took the rest home for two bowls later. So while it was on the expensive side, the serving size makes up for it. You can have leftovers for the next day or two. Not a place that stands out to me that'd I'd recommend out of the blue to a friend. But if I knew someone was in the area, I'd mention it as a decent place to eat at that's on the expensive side.

The main reason I come to Orale is their fire chorizo queso dip! It is my favoriteeeee but I will say their barrier tacos are also fire!
