Tried this place after a recommendation from my friend. She had only ever had it on DoorDash, but we decided to go to the actual location. I'm so glad we went because this food was amazing! Seriously, probably the best burrito I've ever had. I got the chicken burrito and it's made with shredded chicken, which I love. You don't get any gross chunks or fatty pieces. Good for someone like me who is particular with meat. Seriously, it was spectacular. I did also get a single birria Taco that was on the happy hour menu because I love birria and this was also amazing. So flavorful. And it was actually a fairly large taco as well. This is always my go to spot in Miami. The best burrito I've ever had especially with the red salsa. Could not recommend the spot more. Went to their Brick + Mortar instead of ordering online for the first time the other day, and the staff was so nice and the place was so clean. Walking in, the place has a very cool ambiance: dim lighting, large screen tvs/projectors, a big bar, and loud music. We were greeted and seated immediately. Unfortunately that's where the good service ended. The server brought us water and menus without saying a word. When he finally took our orders, it was very hard to hear him. We assumed that even though we'd ordered everything at the same time, we would receive the appetizer (elote) first but that was not the case. We received the tacos first, then the elote shortly after. It was about 10 more minutes before the burrito showed up, forcing my partner and I to eat separately or let the tacos get cold. Taste-wise, the elote was on a sliver of cob (not the whole cob and not corn kernels) - too difficult to eat. The carnitas taco was way too spicy for me. The chicken taco was ok. The burrito was seemingly pan-seared in a layer of cheese on the outside of the tortilla, making it hot and greasy to grab and eat. We started with the chips and salsa and the elote, the salsa had so much flavor and the tortilla chips were fresh and warm. The elote was really good too and wasn't overly covered in the chipotle mayo sauce, which I appreciated. For our main dishes, we shared the birria tacos (so flavorful and filling) and a chicken burrito, subbing the potatoes for rice. First time at their Hallandale location. It was fantastic! Indoor and outdoor seating and a well placed bar. It was overall casual and spacious. Service was laid back as in the Miami location. Second time coming to this place! Love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. It was such a nice day when I went. I opted to sit outside. It was a little breezy, but the real MVP was a steak burrito. It was so hardy, steak was cooked perfectly! There was even potatoes inside which was so unexpected. Now the real disappointment was the Birria tacos. This has been the next cultural phenomenon. I was so disappointed in the consume tasting like nothing. I was excited to try it. Now I wish I hadn't. My wife and I ate here at 6pm on a Friday. The short version. The place is not very clean. The food is all very bland, tasteless, and mushy. Service could be better. They sat us at a very small table. We were in between two other tables and too close to the other people. We should have sat at the bar. Upon sitting I noticed the legs on my chair were very loose. I could feel the front legs detaching from the base. I changed it for a different one. The new chair was dirty with food on the front. I cleaned it and carried on. A few minutes after all that a waitress finally brought us menus. My menu was dirty with food stains. I had to wipe it clean to read parts of it. So now I'm already annoyed because everything was dirty. It's the type of place that only wipes down the tables and nothing else. When you look around you'll see the other chairs and benches have food on them and the floor is filthy. To add to that, when the people next to me left they wiped the table and put down chipped plates. A dirty place isn't the end of the world, but a place that looks this nice and stylish should have a little more pride. On to the Food! We ordered the happy hour oysters for $1 each. They were good, salty and tasted fresh. My wife ordered the happy hour Birria tacos. Actually I should say taco since it only comes with one on happy hour. Still a good price but it shows two in the picture. The birria taco looked great. I tried it. I could only taste the cheese. I tried the meat on its own and it tasted of nothing. No seasoning or flavor at all. I ordered the Chicken burrito since people said it was the best thing here. It's a mouth full of MUSH! The chicken looks like ground chicken. Too soft and ZERO seasoning. The avocado, some pico de gallo, and a soft potato that's in it just add to the terrible texture. I ended up taking it apart to see if the chicken was ok on its own. It isn't. I barely ate half. I left the other half there. No point in throwing in my garbage. They can throw it away for me. Now the fun part! Halfway through eating they finally bring us a bottle of water. The bottle was greasy, lol. Then they tell me they are a NO CASH restaurant. CC only. There is plenty of free parking available there is also paid parking on the street side. The atmosphere for lunch time was very quiet and the music was just calming. My server was Sanih. So when they opened their second location just less than 5 minutes away from me I had to go. The birria tacos are delicious and the perfect portion! The steak burrito has hash brown instead of rice, whoever came up that needs a raise. The guacamole is also a staple and nice to have on the table to put over the tacos! The elote is boiled and is probably the only thing i wouldn't order again. its good but i get so bummed out when its not grilled as it makes a huge difference. I randomly stopped by this place because it was one of the only places still open at the time and boy what a find! All the food was so good. Calamari was well seasoned and perfectly cooked, the burrito was one of the best I've had (which says a lot considering i'm from California) with lots if meat and delicious flavor and the churros were some of the best churro I've ever had with such a decadent chocolate -- it reminded me of Spanish style churros with hot chocolate. It was so good, I went back two days in a row! The following night I tried the tiger shrimp super tender and excellently flavored and the quesabirria tacos. Every thing we got was so good nothing less than 4/5 stars. I also got drinks and the margs were also so good, they also have frosés and other yummy cocktails.
