    Beer and a margarita
    Michelle M.

Walking in, the place has a very cool ambiance: dim lighting, large screen tvs/projectors, a big bar, and loud music. We were greeted and seated immediately. Unfortunately that's where the good service ended. The server brought us water and menus without saying a word. When he finally took our orders, it was very hard to hear him. We ordered a beer and a margarita to start. The margarita was delicious and strong. For food, we ordered the elote, 2 tacos (carnitas and chicken), and a steak burrito. We assumed that even though we'd ordered everything at the same time, we would receive the appetizer (elote) first but that was not the case. We received the tacos first, then the elote shortly after. It was about 10 more minutes before the burrito showed up, forcing my partner and I to eat separately or let the tacos get cold. Taste-wise, the elote was on a sliver of cob (not the whole cob and not corn kernels) - too difficult to eat. The carnitas taco was way too spicy for me. The chicken taco was ok. The burrito was seemingly pan-seared in a layer of cheese on the outside of the tortilla, making it hot and greasy to grab and eat. Overall, cool ambiance and good drinks but not-so-great service or food.

We went there for a quick stop before having dinner somewhere else. We had a drink and a bite from the HH. I ordered a spicy margarita; all margaritas are made with Jose Cuervo which is not my favorite but i barely noticed, which was good. We also had the birria taco; it was good and had lots of meat. The place is nice, lots of lighting and the service was good; attentive and fast. I will go back.

Uptown has pretty good happy hour specials! The food is tasty and the barilla tacos are so juicy you don't even need the sauce. Drinks were pretty good as well. It's pretty chill, music playing and sports on the screen. Now, service wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. I'll go back for the food though.

Second time coming to this place! Love that they have indoor and outdoor seating. It was such a nice day when I went. I opted to sit outside. It was a little breezy, but the real MVP was a steak burrito. It was so hardy, steak was cooked perfectly! There was even potatoes inside which was so unexpected. Now the real disappointment was the Birria tacos. This has been the next cultural phenomenon. I was so disappointed in the consume tasting like nothing. The shredded steak tasted like nothing and it was like more of a quesadilla. I was not impressed. The churros were amazing. I didn't even get to take a picture of it. Service was great. I went during the afternoon so it was not very busy but definitely a great place to go and check out. I'll give them another try. #ThankMeLater.

We stopped by Uptown 66 on our way home from the mall and shared a bunch of dishes, and everything was delicious. We started with the chips and salsa and the elote, the salsa had so much flavor and the tortilla chips were fresh and warm. The elote was really good too and wasn't overly covered in the chipotle mayo sauce, which I appreciated. For our main dishes, we shared the birria tacos (so flavorful and filling) and a chicken burrito, subbing the potatoes for rice. Definitely enough food to share, and the prices were really reasonable for the amount of food you get. Everyone working there was super friendly as well. Overall, a great stop we'll definitely be back!

Waitress was horrible. Walking around doing nothing after we order a coke and draft beer. Which took 12-20 minutes to come. We said to our selves the food is probably going to come before the drinks. She finally saw us starring her down and came over to say " oh your still waiting on your drinks". We then watched her open a the cooler fridge grab a bottle of coke and get the draft. I ordered 2 tacos an oxtail taco and a chicken taco, my daughter ordered 3 tacos 2 pork and 1oxtail. A food runner came out and brong a plate with 3 tacos sat them in front of my daughter then 5 minutes later I get a plate with 2 tacos which had some kind of meat deffinitley not chicken. Again waitress no where to be found. Went outside asked hostess for manager and explained to her what was going on. She spoke to manager and waitress (we could see from table) waitress came over and said that the foods comes out together. Not what happened. Explained i dont eat pork which is why I didnt order it and want to know what im eating which clearly isn't chicken. Manager came over explained it was busy and asked what he could Ado for us. We requested the right food and asked for another waitress. ... I get it was a busy night but inside wasn't that busy open tables multiple staff. Our waitress was walking in circles not going to any tables as we watched her waiting for the drinks. And I should have to guess what im eating even if im with other people. If I order a oxtail taco and chicken. Why im I getting pork?

5 draft beers but only 1 on happy hour

Horrible experience on cinco de mayo at 3:30. Dirty bar had to ask to get it wiped. Took 20 minutes to be helped and when it finally turned happy hour they said only La rubia draft beers are $4 no others even though they are promoting this. Good food but horrible vibes and employees. Will never be back.

First time at their Hallandale location. It was fantastic! Indoor and outdoor seating and a well placed bar. It was overall casual and spacious. Service was laid back as in the Miami location. I think they had some technical issues today with the PoS that had them a little distracted. The flavors here are amazing. I enjoyed the latter sauces, and flavorful oysters albeit small. The pork Al pastor and mushroom/pear hongos tacos were exceptional. Definitely would come back and recommend.

Absolutely positively outstanding! I had the Birria tacos, elote, a dozen oysters for $1 each and two spicy passion fruit margaritas. They have happy hour from 4-7 PM seven days a week. Birria tacos $4, elote $5, half price margaritas $7. I couldn't be any happier. Chareenah was my server. She greeted me with a smile and welcomed me like family. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will be back.

Since it opened we wanted to see what it was all about. Decided to go for taco Tuesday deals. At first, I wasn't too keen about the place , seemed like they didn't have their service in order. Waited a few more minutes , and I have to say that our server (Jen Paul ) was very dedicated. Great customer service. The tacos were delicious and the drinks were on point. Definitely we will be back.

The food was great but the wait staff was not friendly. Hostess asked if we had reservation at 4:45 pm and when I went inside it was not full at all. The star was the birra taco, guac, and charbroiled oysters. Skip the margaritas!!! At a Mexican place no less? ‍‍

Uptown has done it again!!! The new location is spacious, stylish, and an instant vibe upgrade. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a truly exceptional team that sets the tone for the whole experience. If you're in the mood for a lively scene, the full bar has sports playing across the wall and an energy that pulls you right in. Walk a bit further and the ambiance shifts into a more refined casual dining space. I kicked things off with the flamed charred oysters and wow... absolute perfection. Smoky, rich, and easily some of the best I've had in South Florida. Then came the Mole and let me say, it's better than any mole I've had anywhere in South Florida. Deep, layered, and beautifully balanced with a hint of spice. Honestly, no need to hop on a plane to Mexico when I can just drive to Hallandale. Uptown isn't just raising the bar for South Florida dining. They took the bar, melted it down, and forged an entirely new standard. If you live within 100 miles of Hallandale and you don't eat here soon, that's a personal choice I can't respect.

The pasta was luxurious and very milky and creamy. Their bread rolls were dry and nasty. The restaurant is a perfect size. But after I saw that the pasta costed $15 ...on the menu, I was told that this price was only for the lunchtime menu. Their dinner prices run very high, so I'm understanding why their waitress told me that it's been very slow here lately. I paid an almost whopping $30 for the pasta which wasn't even a large portion either. Their fajitas were $23 on the menu, so ik I couldn't have been looking at their lunch menu. My experience there was exactly what I expected and hoped for while staying at a nearby Airbnb: an authentic, humble Mexican taqueria. I visited on a Tuesday evening and was warmly greeted by a pleasant young Mexican girl working behind the counter whose primarily spoke Spanish. I ordered one shimp taco, one tongue taco, and some rice and beans. The decor is Mexiclutter, reminiscent of the small eating establishments I saw while visiting Tijuana. The small dining area includes 2 counters on opposite walls each accommodating 2 or 3 patrons and a small table surrounded by 3 chairs. After ordering, I sat at the table and watched a soccer match broadcast in Spanish on a small television while enjoying scrumptious, not greasy, tortillas served with tangy salsa verde. After a short wait, the woman behind the counter served me my tacos. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. I expected her to return with my rice and beans, but that didn't happen which was fine because I was no longer hungry after eating an entire basket of tortillas and both tacos. The tacos and a soda cost me around $13.
