Lemon garlic shrimp & Mexican fries
    Nena F.

On vacation on Hollywood beach! Went to this restaurant twice, once during lunch time & once during dinner to test it out. food was hit or miss (steak burrito - incredible. Guac - incredible! lemon garlic shrimp - overcooked & their nachos were large & lots of tasty toppings but ground beef was bland). Overall - thought it was filling for the portions & price! however, the service was mediocre at best. During lunch, we were maybe 1 of 10 tables, dinner 1 of 15 and the service was incredibly slow! slow to get water, slow to order & slow to get the bill. You are sitting in a beautiful area - ocean view & right on the broadwalk in a less busy area so you have a great view while waiting, but we sure did do a LOT of waiting.

We arrived early (5 pm) and there was limited seating. We were able to sit outside with an ocean view and received excellent service from Roberto. We ordered a Maimi Vice - very good frozen drink and a beer. We ordered the ceviche, a large portion for a good price, which was delicious. We had shrimp and mahi tacos which were super flavorful and fresh. It came with corn on the cob (mediocre, but it's February obviously not fresh). Overall very good experience!

In the area a day ahead of our cruise departure and hit MQ for dinner. We were quickly seated...outdoors but under cover with a view of the beach. Staff courteous and present throughout the meal. All dishes arrived hot and very flavorful...fish hot and crispy with nicely seasoned chips/fries. Tacos soft with plenty of meat; shrimp dinner also a hit. Main drawback was the 30 minute wait between ordering and receiving our food. Team brought chips and guacamole (on the house) to the table after about 25 minutes...nice gesture...driver of the one star deduction. Note that parking is a challenge (limited and construction in the area) with the nearby garage charging $9 per hour. Slow service resulted in an $18 parking charge. Also, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill though that is disclosed in the menu. Still great food and a great view with a quality service staff.

Stopped in around 8:30pm on a Sunday night after craving tacos all day. It was fairly quiet with a good amount of available seating. I sat outside on the broadwalk which is great for people-watching, even later at night. I ordered a margarita to start - it was on the sweet side and not my favorite margarita. I didn't even finish it as a result of it being so sweet. I had the salmon tostada, a carnitas taco, and a mushroom taco. Everything was pretty average. I expected more flavor, especially given the cost of the food. If the tacos had more of the cilantro(?) sauce, they would be better! The service was okay - more attentive at first and then less so by the end of the meal. I had to flag down the server to pay and get going. Overall, great ambiance but food, drinks, and service were lacking and not quite worth those beachside costs.

After being in Florida for one month I have officially found my favorite restaurant! I'm traveling from texas and can confirm that this place has one of the best food in Hollywood Fl. Trust me when I say I know good food! Roberto gracefully accommodate us 25 mins before closing and truly was helpful in giving us as wonderful experience.

We came here on a whim and were so pleasantly surprised! The view is unbeatable- we got seating outside right on the boardwalk overseeing the beach. Our waiter brought us the menus and we ordered the quesadilla and the burrito- both appropriately priced for the area. The food tasted great and we would definitely come back and repeat. If you're in the area, I recommend trying this place. If there's no tables available outside, you'll be just as happy inside with AC and the beautiful decor.

Service was fast! Location right off the beach! Def a go to bar. Food looked good. The atmosphere was fun. Everyone was having a good time!

Absolutely a 10/10 experience at The Mermaid Queen! From the amazing service to the laid-back ambiance and perfect waterfront view, everything just clicked. And the tacos? Next-level. As someone who takes tacos seriously, these are some of the best I've ever had. If you're anywhere near Hollywood, FL, The Mermaid Queen is a must.

I had a really nice time here. The food was really good. I enjoyed the carnitas bowl and the mahi taco. I think it's a little pricey, but you're directly on the beach so I get it. Service could have been better as we had to flag down our waiter a few times. The decor was cute and I think a good spot to get drinks with friends.

We have walked by this place several times on the Broadwalk and after hearing a few rave reviews we decided to make it out next date night! Street parking on this end of the Broadwalk is a little easier than in the busier sections...it's much more quiet and relaxing then north of Hollywood Blvd I highly recommend a small table facing the ocean if you come early enough to snag one. I'm not 100% sure if they take reservations but if they do I would do it. I started off with a glass of Pinot grigio and my husband opted for a Corona, pretty much our go-tos. From there, we enjoyed a couple of appetizers...he had the ceviche and we shared the chips and salsa....for our main I went with the mushroom taco combo with corn and he had the steak burrito. Also opting for dessert, we ordered a small jar of tres leches...that I could have totally passed on and would not order again as it was just alright. After dinner, we opted for a nice stroll along the Broadwalk before heading home. Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try...we will be back again for sure!

Is this a family friendly restaurant ? We are going to hollywood in June and wondering if this would be a spot to eat with our kids.

It's a bit fancy by some standards to bring the kids, but I was there a couple months ago and saw families of all ages eating there at lunch and dinner. Due to the price point and menu offering, it is more of an adult restaurant (at least in the… Read more

We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. It's a small, fast, casual dining place, with table service. I started with the La Potranca cocktail. Our server said it was tequila, passion fruit, and coconut. I assume it was coconut milk or cream of coconut, because the drink had a very light creamy consistency. Honestly, I'm still thinking about this drink. My husband said it tasted strong which surprised me because it didn't to me, but halfway through, I was feeling it. I loved this drink so much. It also came in a funny torso shaped glass. For food, we ordered my daughter the cheese quesadilla, my husband the beef burrito, and I ordered the Vampiro - a fried tortilla with meat, cilantro, onions. My husband said his burrito was good but that it was too much cheese. It essentially tasted like a cheese burrito. Similarly, our daughter's cheese quesadilla was so THICK that we thought she mistakenly got chicken. Turns out it was an enormous amount of cheese, but I tasted it and it was also sooo flavorful. The Vampiro I ordered tasted so good. It was different from what I've usually had in Mexican restaurants but was sort of "lighter" in some ways even though the tortilla was fried. This has a ton of flavor too. I ordered two, and they were $4.50 each, so not bad. (The food came super, super fast). I forgot to mention we were given chips when we arrived. There was a caddy of 8 sauces to choose from, spicy and mild. I tried the very spiciest, Salsa Chile de Vincent's, and this did have some spice but not too much. The Salsa Asada was the second spiciest but not spicy for me. Salsa Chilango had another flavor in it that I couldn't quite narrow down but it was a little creamy and super flavorful. And the Salsa Asada had a Smokey flavor. Regardless, it was a great collection to choose from. We ordered the churros for dessert with dulce de leche to dip them in and also Nutella. These are probably the best churros we've had. They were super sugary and so delicious. The place is small but with a fun, pink, neon aesthetic. The bathroom was clean and beautiful. (Don't be deterred by the sign at the doorway saying no public restroom - that just means for non-patrons. This little restaurant was such a fun surprise and definitely somewhere I'll go again.

I wish I would have found out about them sooner because it's the freshest, yummiest Mexican food I have ever had in Miami. In the corner of an unassuming little strip on the south east side of Biscayne Blvd and 163rd Street you would likely miss it if you didnt know it was there. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and sat at our table by a attentive, super nice waitress. The restaurant was cozy, not too big not too small and quiet enough to chat comfortably. No long waits for drinks or food either. And the food... OMG so fresh and flavorful. I swear if I snuck into the kitchen I'd find a mom or grandma cooking the meals! My pals Juan and Jorge who'd been there plenty of times before were right when they said the food was great. We each got something different but everyone raved about their meals. We had the best guacamole with chicharones (pork belly not the dry bagged kind) was a very pleasant and tasty surprise. My friend Soni had a Taco Salad (see pic) I had the Burrito. The entrees were all made with the freshest ingredients and portions were plentiful. No one left hungry. LOL Full or not our table of five shared a Churro with Vanilla Ice Cream and Dulce de Leche, and a Fried Ice Cream. The prices were very reasonable for the amount and high quality of the food. I drove from Key Biscayne and would gladly do so again. If you're ever in the area do you and your tummy a favor and check out Paquito's. You won't be disappointed.

Aside from the borderline screaming this girl was doing into my party's ear, she does not have manners. She grabbed my arm and pulled me while I was eating because she said she "wanted to dance" but I was trying to eat and ended up spilling my food on myself. She had an attitude if you don't cheer for her or applaud her. She came back after she finished singing and asked us for a tip when the actual mariachi band did not. SO SO SO RUDE!!! Absolutely never coming back. And neither is anyone in my family/party. Such a shame, the band sounded great without her. And the food was decent.
