I went in for repairs on two of my pairs of glasses the first repair was to get some lenses changed out on a pair of full wooden frames and to also get an adjustment on my Raybans because they squeezed my head too tight. I had broken my wooden frames and repaired them a while back so I was hesitant to get the lenses changed out for fear of breaking them again but Wayne masterfully got the lenses out and had new lenses fitted to my frames perfectly without breaking the frames. I was sick of looking like a dork and out of touch with what was "hip" so I looked up the reviews here and ventured on down to meet "the man" himself. Wayne is so incredibly personable and he won't try and sell you something just to make a buck. He actually cares about how you look and he has the COOLEST frames around. I haven't been to another optician in 20 years, which is strange being that I'm only 30!! O.K. not really but, I DID meet Wayne Fletcher, the owner of Optx when he was working for another eyewear shop/optician. After a few years of working there, he decided to go out on his own & opened his own shop, Optx in Valencia. A few years later he relocated his shop to Studio City and then to Encino. Now, he's opened Optx in Calabasas. I'm STILL living in Studio City but, it doesn't matter, I drive to Calabasas because the service, selection & price make it well worth the drive. I am EXTREMELY hard on my glasses and thus have earned the nickname "The Breaker". I see Wayne every couple of months. I arrive with a big bag filled with glasses, little victims fallen prey to my abuse for Wayne to tune up, tighten & replace scratched lenses. It's rare that I walk out without purchasing another pair (or 2 ). His selection is amazing (I'm partial to the Celine frames he carries!) and he has a good stock of prescription lenses so, that in MOST cases he'll have them ready in a day or two, sometimes even the same day. I brought a pair of my late father's eyeglasses in to be "refurbished". They were from the late 50s and were pretty trashed. Yes, I come from a long line of "Breakers"! Wayne said he'd see what he could do. A few weeks later, I went to pick them up and Wayne had completely restored them, they looked beautiful, brand new, only cooler.
