I have been coming to Alan for almost two decades and he is one of the best! I usually tend to not have good dealings with medical staff but Alan is a really good guy, empathetic, and thorough. You definitely feel like you get the care and treatment you need. The office is clean and atmosphere is welcoming as well. However, it has been awhile since I have gone to the office but when I recently went I found out my medical records have been shredded and trashed. I checked and I came multiple times within seven years (time period for offices to maintain records) and when I asked the front desk receptionist, she wasn't very sympathetic or cared. Alan used to have a really great receptionist but this recent one comes across as rude and not following proper medical practice of trashing medical records. Further, when picking up my glasses, she was rude about the kind of glasses I got and called them cheap and "made me feel better" by getting a Dulce & Gabbana bag. Dr. Goldstein is definitely the BEST eye doctor. I found him in 1989 when I lived in Calabasas. I wear contacts, tri-focal eye glasses and half glasses. I moved to Oxnard in 2001 - and drove to his office to have my eyes checked. I bought a new pair of tri-focal glasses (which I'm still wearing) - and they're perfect. I went back around 2016 and ordered a new set of contacts (4 pair in a pack) and he changed the lenses in my half-glasses, which he mailed to me. I'm still wearing the contacts and half-glasses. I've been wearing glasses and contacts for decades - and I realized how BAD my previous eye doctors were and they also used out-dated equipment. Dr. Goldstein also takes insurance. That means going through the daunting task of picking new doctors, dentists, hair stylists, waxers, etc. I chose Dr. Goldstein because he's located nearby in a good area, the one good review on Yelp, and (shamelessly) his website looked good - good photos, well-managed website. He looked friendly enough so I thought I'd give him a try. And the result - I was mighty pleased. Dr. Goldstein is friendly and took the time to answer some of my mundane questions. The office has a relaxed feel to it. He's got good selections for eyeglass frames. And it was not even crowded - in fact, I was the only client on a Wednesday afternoon. About 10 years ago I got something in my eye that caused me to have a terribly painful scratch. I was in so much pain, and my husband was searching for doctors that could fit me in same day. Alan stayed after hours to see me. I've been going to him ever since (I also wear contacts). Honestly, Alan is absolutely wonderful. So kind. So helpful. I feel so cared for. Dr Goldstein is the best doctor. I have been coming to him for 2 years. He has a very good disposition and he answers all questions you may have. And his prices are very reasonable. My right eye has been bothering me for a week and finally today I decided to have him check it out. I called at 10:30 am today and asked to make an appointment today between 11-11:30am. The receptionist told me they were fully booked, but when I asked if she could squeeze me in because my eye was really bothering me, she got me an appointment at 11:45am.
