After getting a hold of customer service I get transferred to the Glendale location and I'm put on hold for 30 min each time and no one ever ends up answering. Horrible patient care. There is complete lack of communication within the team, that affects patient quality care. Your scheduled time doesn't matter, you'll still wait an extra 20-30 minutes to be seen. Lula has horrible customer service etiquette, and the same can be said about Veronica. This place is a total nightmare. It's unbelievable that they are allowed to operate this way. Making an appointment took a month of calling multiple times and being put on hold for up to an hour before finally getting through to a human. Their app/patient portal is a joke and has been broken for 2 months now. The office staff who answer the phone are incompetent and don't give a crap about you. You will experience delays with getting referrals and scheduling procedures. Communication on their end is nonexistent. The doctor I met with was lovely but not worth the stress of dealing with the rest of this place, and Optum itself. read more

I am always impressed with the services received at Optum Glendale. I just had another appointment with Ramin Ram, M.D., Dermatology. As always, he is very knowledgable, very friendly, and he takes the time to listen to me and understand my concerns. I never feel rushed. Jessica and Stephanie are friendly, always professional, and very welcoming. LuLu at the front desk was, as always, very helpful. Another plus, is having my Primary Doctor (Helen Metroupous - who is wonderful) and Dermatologist, Dr. Ram, in one location. I just recommended my friend that she sign up and she did. I've been an Optum Glendale office patient for many years. Unfortunately in the past few years IMHO patient care no longer exists. My PCP is Dr Mitropolous, she is very kind and listens to my concerns to understand that my issue if not with my doctor it is with the way Optum functions. Cons 1. All calls are routed to a call center where receptionist know nothing about how to deal with patients and health related concerns. Also, some of them are plain rude. 2. When I want an appt, I have to wait up to 4 months to see my doctor and give the reception my personal information to justify an appt. 3. Recently needed a specialist and was given the wrong information by medical staff in the office and an Otpum customer service member. In the end I contacted my insurance agent for help. If I could rate zero I would! As a member, I'm extremely disappointed. The provider never answers their phones -- I've been left on hold for hours with no help. Their website is just as bad, constantly rejecting valid member IDs and birthdays, making it impossible to access care or support. I used to come this previous medical group 2 years ago and they I love the dr there, suddenly this year they change to Optum. First they didn't verify my insurance and set up my appointment with Dr visit and Pap smear, after a week called me they rejected my insurance!!!!I keep calling them what's the reason you won't accept my insurance? It's the same insurance company that covered me 2 years ago and what you didn't verify first? Suddenly they want to charge me almost $400 bill. No one answered the phone and no one called me back! And just want my money! This is totally unacceptable and I won't pay for any bill until you take my Insurance which is willing to pay for my insurance!! Went in to have some lab work done and it's been 12 days since I've heard anything from my doctor. I had to call to ask for my results after I was told it would be ready in 6-7 days. I got called back 3 times just to let me know that the doctor would call to tell me my results and answer any questions I had because my results just happen to come in 10 minutes before I called. I never got a call from any doctor and I paid for result that weren't accurate the nurse simply said "seem like everything is fine" and I'm supposed to be satisfied with that. I hope they forget to bill me for results I barely got since this is how they run this place. read more

This place doesn't even deserve one star. I went in for an appointment to get a prescription for physical therapy. I spent maybe 5 minutes talking to the dr and maybe a total of 10 minutes in the office and they're charging me $180 for the visit despite asking ahead of time what the rate is for a standard office visit and being told it was $80-120, higher for more complex visits. They refused to give me any sort of price list but because I needed the Rx and was having a hard time finding a dr I went ahead with the appointment. Specialty drs don't charge that much, especially when you have insurance, which I do. Moreover, the doctor didn't even examine my injury, just asked a few questions and completely misdiagnosed the problem. He was also clearly fresh out of med school and highly inexperienced. Not worth a standard rate, let alone this exhortant fee. Stay clear of this place unless you can afford $180+ for a dr visit. read more

I really hope the owners o9f Optum read this. The way Optum formerly Healthcare Partners run this business is horrible. Appointments are set 1 to 2 month away. On the day of the appointment, you go there to wait. There is no excuses for this kind of mismanagement. If the appointments are set 1 to 2 months away, then we might as well not have you and use only the ER. Lastly, I dont know who are the patients yelping Optum 4 stars. Visited 12/15/15 Waiting room kind of empty. Nice waiting area compared to other places. TV on but shows only educational health stuff. Nice selection of magazines! Parking is a little small but it is free with validation. The pediatrician splits his time between here and LA, but his nurses are here. Your child can get the flu shot between 1 and 4 without an appointment, but if you need a MDs note, you are out of luck. The nurse supervisor can sign the school note if that's sufficient for the school. read more

Dr. Dang is a nice person. He addressed my concerns and adjusted medication via our email communication. However, I wouldn't recommend him as a PCP. I was diagnosed with pericarditis following COVID vaccine at UCLA health with EKG, pericardial friction rub and symptomatic evidence, but Dr. Dang denied this diagnosis. He said that pericarditis is a serious and fatal issue and patients are hospitalized. He also said that because I was able to do a 9 min treadmill stress test, I am "very healthy", despite the fact that I have been tortured and disabled by very bad chest pain. I cried out of despair. Maybe to him, as long as I am not dying at once, my condition is not an issue. I referred to him a case published on New England Journal of Medicine but he said that's "anecdotal". First visit experience: Went here to establish care as a new patient and was seen for 5 minutes by Dr. Yacamotti. Are you kidding me? How do you get to know your patients in 5 minutes? I work in the medical industry and this is a terrible first impression. I did not feel listened to, I felt dismissed and rushed. I have extensive knowledge about labs and I wanted a full thyroid panel done but was told that only TSH will be checked even though I explained why I wanted it. I think doctors forget that they are suppose to work with their patients and and with their best interests in mind. I will not be returning to this doctor and I hope her other patients have a better experience than I did. What a waste of my time Second visit experience : I recently was seen by Dr. Mitropoulos the main physician there, she met with me for 45 minutes and we had a conversation about all my concerns and she treated me as an equal. I know about labs, and disease processes as I am in school for function medicine. I appreciate her coming in early to see me as well and ordering all the labs I requested. I give her service 5 stars and that of the office staff that helped me get the service I deserve. Dr. Ram and his entire staff were incredibly wonderful. It's not everyday that you get a Dr. who truly makes you feel like he cares and will do whatever it takes to help you. His nursing staff was just as wonderful. I had to get a blood draw and I hadn't had breakfast and she got me a snack and juice to make sure I would be ok. She also totally distracted me with convo and it was over before I knew it! So grateful for a Dr and his staff that truly care. I highly recommend Dr. Ram for all your dermatology needs. Went in for some bloodwork this morning. The technician that took care of the blood draw, Mark Klossher, was super pleasant and professional. He made sure I was comfortable, and even checked in to make sure I didn't have any issues with needles or with seeing blood. Had a great chat about breakfast while I waited, too. At other labs, the process is geared to get you out as soon as possible, so I appreciated the personal touch by Mark that made the process more relaxing. I've been a patient here since 2011 and the staff, as well as Dr. Mitropoulos, have always been a pleasure to deal with! read more

I've been a patient at this office for several years now with Dr. Metropolous as my primary care physician. She's consistently been incredibly caring and attentive throughout the years, and she is amazing. I feel comfortable talking about any and all concerns about my health with her because she has allowed me to feel comfortable doing so. I've had separate experiences in the past at other facilities where my doctor's bedside manner felt very disconnected. It has been so refreshing and great to now have a positive experience whenever I go to my doctor's office at the Healthcare Partners in Glendale. This staff and management needs to take professional customer care courses. Worst staff and management. They mocked and laughed at my parents because english isn't their first language. Shame on this clinic. This is so embarrassing to know that people like this run a health center. Why are any of these people working in the health field? I've been with Dr. Mitropolous for 3.5 years and She is fabulous. She takes her time, admittedly I have a more complex medical history than most, but she stats focused and doesn't waste time. She has always been respectful of my own knowledge and she LISTENS. I recently switched from PPO to HMO and the office struggled with that -- ball got dropped for a referral that shouldn't have happened-- it did cause me a lot of stress at the time. I am a new member to Anthem- and was automatically assigned to doctor Dang. I had a great experience with the receptionist. She was extremely helpful booking the appointment, explaining a bit about my insurance and the referral process (to get a specialist) and with paying my bill. I did not have a good experience with the doctor. I was 6 weeks postpartum - recovering from a c-section with my first child. I share with the doctor I have been having a hard time managing my emotions and with my recovery. He told me it was completely normal- then went on to ask me what I would do (1) if I had 8 children (2) what I would do if I was 96 years old and had to live with pain daily. I think he had good intentions, but at the time I was very upset- so much so I started crying during our appointment. The doctor continued to ask me the same two questions- along with the overall theme of coping with pain. I explained to him I have had counseling in the past, I am just struggling from the recovery and not feeling myself after the pregnancy . He was helpful with prescribing old medications I had prior to joining anthem- but his advice made me feel awful and was not helpful. At the time I was in shock- but I would of liked if he could of referred me to a councilor, support group, OBGYN or provided me with some sort of care other the advice that he repeated over and over about coping with life - with the two specific examples above. He was a nice man, but I would not recommend him as a doctor. read more

Quality of care of below average relative to other primary care physician offices. My father would have been dead if my wife and I were informed and involved. The fact that my father had been in a hospital 3 days and his primary care doctor has not called one time is a shame. We should all be lucky to have our jobs and careers with service like this. The two stars are solely because of the ease of contacting the office/managing your profile online. I moved here from NY a few months ago, and immediately got very sick. I wasn't happy with the treatment I received the first time (mostly due to the $900 hospital bill I had to pay a week later to get proper treatment), but the location is convenient to my office and I'd already transferred all my medical records, so... I went back a few weeks later for a BC shot. They required a pregnancy test even though they had proof of the timing of my last shot. Since they hadn't administered the last shot, I agreed. For the 30-second shot, I was there for over an hour. Unacceptable, especially considering the fact that I wasn't waiting to see a doctor. I arrived at my 1pm appointment today at 12:55. I was kept waiting for about a half hour (while a group of nurses, who had been out to lunch together, wandered in at 1:11pm) before being told that I needed to take a pregnancy test. Without getting into too many details here, I explained that there was no reason for it, that I hadn't been required to take this test previously (for the many years prior that I had been taking this shot), and that since I'd been kept waiting for half an hour I certainly didn't have time for it now. The nurse then told me to wait (again) while she spoke to the doctor. When she returned, she told me that it was "their policy" to require a pregnancy test each time. So not only did they keep me waiting for no reason, but they expect me to agree to an extra, unnecessary cost every time I go in, four times a year? No. Just no. So I wasted my entire lunchtime, didn't get the shot I went in for, and had to skip lunch. If anyone has a recommendation for a doctor in the area, please message me--because I will not be going back here. Three strikes are enough. read more

As is the case now 80% of the time the staff at medical facilities are not friendly and give the impression they don't like being where they are, The wait is forever and the Drs. are short and quick and moving to the next patient quickly. That was not the case in my visit to Healthcare Partners Medical Group! The staff was excellent! Everyone was happy, polite and looked like they really cared about me and my Mother In Law. Dr. Kathleen Savage was fantastic! Very caring, knowledgeable, informative and patient with us. She gave us advise, told us what to do and was very friendly about the whole process. Our wait time after signing the short 2 pages of sign in paperwork was a whopping 5 minutes! When was the last time you only waiting 5 minutes at a Doctors office! Where else can you find Internal medicine, Specialty, an onsite lab and Radiology all in one place?! The entire staff is very caring and proficient. I would highly recommend Dr. Azer or Dr Mitropoulos for internal medicine and Dr Basta for Pediatrics. The specialty areas of practice are amazing (Comprehensive Care, Podiatry, Dermatology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology... the list goes on and on). Dr. Navabi is my Endocrinologist, he is wonderful! If you are looking for primary care physicians and all areas of specialty in one place then look no further. I came here to see Dr. Ramin Ram. It took forever to get an appointment but it was well worth it. He is only here one day a week. However follow up visits were extremely easy to obtain. He is super nice and informative. The building is a nice clean building. The staff is nice and willing to explain everything to you. Dr.Ramin Ram is a miracle worker! I'm 25 and pretty much since I was a teenager I've always had a face full of acne and acne scars. After he gave me a personalized three month plan which I adhered to, my face completely cleared and all but one or two scars have remained. It's been a few months since the treatment and my face is doing great! I use a cream for maintenance but that's it. Fabulous doctor, definitely recommend! read more

Dr Helen Mitropoulos is excellent. She's caring, professional and always answers my questions directly. My only complaint is about the scheduling time. A routine doctor's visit takes about 2 months, but it's not her fault. Maybe they gave her too many patients. Nurse Sara Carmona is very patient, caring, and goes an extra mile to help. Every time I came in for blood pressure, she gives me some time to relax and water to drink, makes me feel at ease. Other staff there are friendly too. read more
