I have been a patient here for years and they used to provide excellent care. Unfortunately, in recent times the experience has declined. The practice has become overly automated, making it extremely difficult to get in touch with staff or the doctor directly. Their website, which previously allowed messaging and appointment scheduling, has not been functioning for months. On several occasions I have had to go to the ER or urgent care simply because I could not reach my primary care doctor--who is supposed to be the first point of contact. When Dr. Emil was overseeing everything, the service was excellent; he is a great doctor. However, without proper access and communication, the quality of care is lost. I have since switched to another provider who is actually available to answer a call when needed. I hope this office can resolve these issues and return to the professional standard they once had, rather than continuing the current trend of being unavailable and overcapacity. read more

Came here for a Covid test and the staff was very unprofessional. They were arguing with each other right outside my car window. When they finally saw me they tried to talk me out of getting a Covid test when I had Covid symptoms. Then they billed my insurance for an office visit and not a Covid test. They also lied on the claim and said that I saw Dr. Avanes when I never saw an MD. It took two days for the test results to come in. I had previously been tested twice by going to https://covid19.lacounty.gov/testing/. These tests were free of charge and the results actually came in quicker than harmony health. I would recommend not coming here because they will bill you for $200 worth of services for administering a nasal swab. You should just go to a place listed on https://covid19.lacounty.gov/testing/. The results come in faster and they don't charge you. read more

I think I'm being discriminated against. I can see from the recent 5-star reviews from September 2024 that Dr. Avanes is great. So I went on their website on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 and found an appointment for today, October 31 at 930am. I was so happy! I received a prompt text and email welcoming me to Harmony Health. Then I received a personal phone call on Tuesday evening from a gentleman asking me about my insurance. I was watching the World Series (he said he was too) and I asked if I could just give them my information on Thursday, when I arrived. He said "of course." I was all set to go - had my information ready and my recent bloodwork data ready to take to Dr. Avanes. Then I get a phone call yesterday at 3:38 pm from Harmony Health. This person (female) asks me "Are you an IV patient?" I say "what do you mean?" She repeats herself as if that cleared things up. I say again, "What do you mean IV? Isn't Dr. Avanes a primary care doctor?" She says "Yes, but we're not taking new patients. We have 6000 patients and our website is broken." So I said I was very disappointed but thanked her for not wasting my time. I told her that I received a text, email, and phone call confirming my new patient appointment for a consultation. Silence. What is really going on at Harmony Health with 6000 patients and IVs? 6000? Come on. read more

While on my search for a female practitioner I found this medical center. I'm beyond happy that I did. Apparently I was a previous patient years ago as they still had my information. But, any way I'm beyond content that I found my to go doctor here. The staff was kind and attentive. But, the rockstar of my visit was hands down my new primary doctor Nicole Ocampian. Wow, I honestly never in my 30+ of my life have left a medical place satisfied, listened to and valued. Dr. Ocampian is the real deal GREAT bed side manners, she is knowledgeable, attentive, kind and just an overall amazing practitioner. First of all our entire family got Covid and as I really was doing so bad ( fever wouldn't go down, body aches coughing non stop etc) our friend recommended this place. Upon arrival we were greeted by the kindest humans who actually gave a "damn" about my condition. They evaluated us right away then according to our situation, they started 2 different IV treatments ( one on me one on my wife) . Treatment took almost 3 hours during which time they kept checking my vitals and making sure I was ok. They're so friendly, so knowledgeable....... Oh forgot to mention how gentle they are with your veins lol ( reason why I mention this is because few days ago we had a "nurse" visit our house who honestly was a butcher by trade most likely. She poked us 2-3 times trying to find a vein, splashing blood everywhere) These guys were so professional, both of us didn't feel anything as they poked us. By the way I started getting better the next day after my treatment. We love this place !!!!! I honestly would give more than 5 stars if Yelp let me. Neighborhood gem to say the least!!! read more

I have truly never seen a more unprofessional staff. Dr Avanes is by far the worst doctor you can see. His incompetence caused my husband to suffer from pancreatitis after multiple times visiting him he did not know what it was. He told us it's his stomach and kept sending us home. His front desk is so rude and unprofessional. The secretary told our results were abmormal which she has no right when she has no medical knowledge just causing people anxiety. It's the nurses job to give results. These good reviews are all family and friends of the doctor and staff. This doctor has no knowledge and always asks other doctors what something may be. I was looking for a new GP after moving to LA from the Bay Area. I am so glad I found Harmony Health. I like that they take a well rounded holistic approach as well as practicing western medicine. Oftentimes, I have experienced in the past, doctors were so quick in prescribing me medications. I understand it is a case by case basis. It had been some time since my last visit to the Dr.'s office for any reason, even for just a general check-up. I have a very busy schedule like most others & to me my time is very valuable because I like to get a lot of things done & so forth. I had seen the new buildings being built a few years back where Harmony Health office is currently located & when the building was finally done, I had realized that it was a new Dr.'s & medical building. I had recently called to schedule my appointment & I was told that Harmony Health was my new primary Dr.'s office & Dr. Andreh Carapiet is who I will be making my visits to. Day of my appointment I am already hating life knowing that I am going to have an issue for finding a parking space in the heat from all past experiences I had with the few visits to other doctor's offices, this yet was way different & unbelievably convenient. I pull into the parking structure, YES! PARKING STRUCTURE!! & not only did I find parking within a second, but my car was under a nice shady spot with many others! That was good, they did good!! =) When I walked into the office, I felt that I may have walked into the wrong place, this place did not feel like a boring doctor's office or have that funky doctor office smell (you know what I'm talking about). The way the office was designed made me feel comfortable from the moment I had walked in, felt like I was about to go into a spa, lollll!! I was greeted by the friendly staff in the front & who were incredibly welcoming & did not make me feel any type of discomfort or experience any type of awkward moments. I was enjoying it so much that I didn't realize when I had finished all my paperwork & by the time I knew it my name was already being called to go in. The nurse called me in & did the basic procedures weight, height, etc. which went great as well, but I had not grown an inch in the past 3 years, lolll. I was just stunned by the design of the office, compared to all others. I was taken to the room to wait for the Dr. which is the WORST part, because they take forever to come in & see you which makes you feel like you want to get out of there already! Dr. Andreh Carapiet was very prompt on coming in to see me that it didn't cross my mind to think he may take forever! He did a comprehensive well visit for me & he had a great sense of humor as well & did the best to make me feel comfortable. I had a bunch of questions about different health issues & all my questions/concerns were answered without a rush or hesitation which made me realize that he is really confident in what he answers. Before I was done with my time with Dr. Andreh Carapiet, I was already looking forward to having my next appointment scheduled to be back here again, totally did not expect to experience all these great things at once, but glad I did! Overall experience for my Dr. visit was A++ (100!)
