Back for my annual visit. I was disappointed that Dr. Lui was out for parental leave but Dr. Cho was just as informative, patient, and thorough - the quality of optometrists here is incomparable! My exam itself was so thorough I was there for 45 mins for the eye image/tests and then with Dr. Cho but she spent time walking through the photos, what they meant, what examples of good/bad eye images looked like. I never felt rushed and I knew her next patient was waiting for their appointment to start. She walked me out and even checked in on the prior patient before me who was trying out glasses. And the optician on staff, Chris, was so great. He was so thoughtful in examining my vision benefits and talking me through how to maximize my savings - even to the point where I could tell he was working really hard on the math to figure out the best combination of benefits/billing. In short, customer service and bedside manner continue to be outstanding here. read more

Have been in OC for most of my life, but visited Optometry Corner for the first time recently. Fantastic experience with Dr. Cho! Booking my appointment online was super easy. They had good available time slots that didn't require a long wait, AND, they actually use the online patient intake form! NO filling in the info online and then having to re-fill in the same paper form in-person (which happens quite often). Everyone, from front desk, to doctors visit, to checkout, was very pleasant. I wouldn't have left this review if it weren't for the reminder text about my due eye exam. Very poor management with overconfident doctors. Went in for my exam and the girls in the front desk were eating food that smelled and half giving attention to the customers. I've had similar prescription for years and during the exam the doc said it's too high and my eye is overcompensating and needs to come down. So I got the new prescription and couldn't see very well. So I had to go in again and get another exam and go thru the whole ordeal and order new prescription. The office kept sending old prescription with the wrong prescription with the curve being off, sending the wrong one, it was a mess. Not going back and not recommend for anyone. read more

Updating my review once again. This is my fourth year going to Dr. Lui and for the first time in years my eyes are stable! If you read my past reviews, I have a complicated eye history, and Dr. Lui listen, tested, and tried his best to provide me with the best custom prescription to help slow down and stabilize my eyes. Have a comfortable glasses and the most comfortable contact lenses I have ever worn. His plan worked and I couldn't be happier. If I can give 0 star I would. The girl behind the front desk girl is very rude and mean. I was not feeling well with my eyes all of a sudden: and would like to have a quick check with my eyes but she recommended me to go urgent care instead. I asked what if the nearest urgent care doesn't have eye doctor available then I have to go back again. She said yeah, excuse me??? The whole process made me very uncomfortable! read more

I am a creature of habit, especially when it comes to doctors. I scheduled an appointment with the Optometry Corner Team on a referral from my wife as I needed new reading glasses. Making the appointment was painless and they were able to see me very quickly. Dr. Cho was amazing and you can tell that she was taking the time to ensure that there was nothing else going on with my eyes due to information I had placed on the intake questionnaire. The technicians and reception staff were also extremely friendly and professional and extremely helpful. If you are looking for an optometrist, do not think twice about seeing the team at Optometry Corner. They are not there to sell you things you don't need and it is obvious from my visit that they truly care about you as a patient. read more

I called Friday thinking I had an appointment. They told me Monday at 10am, after waiting they said they had me for 9am. A waste of time and drive. I had the most pleasant and educational experience as a first-time patient at Optometry Corner today! Upon entrance, I could see how orderly and clean the office was and how attentive the staff were. My appointment was with Dr. Elizabeth Cho who, I must say, is an excellent optometrist! The exam I had with her was very thorough, which I really appreciated because my previous optometrist would rush through my exams, thus leaving me feeling uneasy. Dr. Cho answered all my questions and concerns and did so with great care and patience -- she is very knowledgeable and takes your concerns seriously! After the exam I talked with one of the staff (I didn't catch his name, unfortunately) about pricing on contact lenses and my invoice overall. He displayed a lot of patience and was -- yet again -- very helpful, answering all my questions about different scenarios and calculating my overall costs after my insurance was accounted for. Dr. Patel is a wonderful optometrist who is super kind and friendly. I recently saw her to update my glasses and contact prescription. The office has high tech equipment like a OCT machine and tonometer that replaces the (dreaded) puff of air test. Instead of having a machine that normally blows air into the eye, there is a device that briefly touches the eye and feels like a eyelash or brief tickle. This definitely made my experience a walk in the park compared to my previous experience at Lenscrafters. Dr. Patel was also flexible and gave me options for the contact lenses to help me determine the right fit for me. Definitely will come to this office for years to come! read more

Went in for my annual eye exam and have to say, Dr Lui is one of the best Optometrists I've been to so far. Having lived all over the country I've seen quite a few Optometrists over the years. From mannerisms, professionalism, and knowledge, he surpassed all my expectations. Eye exam tools and scan equipment seem to be very new and current. What impressed me the most was the time he took with me as a patient , not at all rushed. He explained all of the eye scan results (3-D images) and graphs academically and thoroughly. Can away feeling like I learned things about my eye condition that I didn't know before, which never really happened at other optometry offices. He's got a very pleasant demeanor. I wish I could say this place was great but, unfortunately, i have tried on two occasions to make appointments and I wasn't able to. The first time I spent 20 minutes on the phone with someone who couldn't seem to find my info on the insurance website. I've had Eyed for 9 years and no one else had a problem finding my coverage info. After 20 minutes, I had to get off the phone. I have since left a message on their voicemail and no one has called me back. Lucky there are many other optometry options with 5 stars in Irvine. read more

I had purchased a pair of prescription sunglasses from elsewhere and had them made according to a prescription I had completed back in December 2017 up in the SF bay area. However, the power was not right and I couldn't see clearly with these new sunglasses. But, before I could have the sunglasses redone, I was told that, under CA law, I needed to have a whole new prescription done. So, after looking up on yelp for the best reviews and most convenient place to retake my eye exam and prescription, I found Dr. Lui at the Optometry Corner. I called them up and made my appointment with ease....very nice and friendly front desk staff. All I need to say is that the front staff were great! Got me to fill out some paperwork, and a few minutes later, called me to have the preliminary eye tests done, before being attended to by Dr. Lui himself. Dr. Lui is such a nice, personable, friendly, polite, patient, thorough, and professional optometrist. He guided me through each step of the vision test process and answered any questions I had along the way.....and at the end of it, he figured out exactly why I wasn't seeing clearly through my new sunglasses.....it seems the astigmatism was off in one eye. I go great lengths to see my doctors. When I lived in Northern California, I would make my visits to Southern California just to see my Dentist in San Gabriel. I'm happy to say I've found an Optometrist that would make me go the distance to see him. Dr. Lui was very knowledgeable and took his time with my examination as well as educate me on eye health. The staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating. There is a good selection of glasses to choose from. The practice is located in a busy plaza with plentiful parking. I visited Dr. Lui on a Friday as a first time patient. This practice is located in the same plaza as Zion Market and Dada Shabu. They accept a wide range of insurances and have quite a lot of different frames for you to sift through. Dr. Lui was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. His staff was very friendly and helpful as well. I paid extra to do an additional scan that checks the overall health of my eye. As for the usual eye exam, the office uses a new kind of technology that doesn't do the eye puff tests. Very high tech! Dr. Lui took his time going over my records and charts with me and adjusted my vision to numbers I was comfortable with. He also gave me trial lens to try of different brands so I can see what works for me. My only gripe about the office is that their hours are sometimes difficult to get to. As someone who works full time, on weekdays the office closes at 4:30 which is usually too early for me to get off work for. Saturdays they are not open all day and they are closed on Sundays. Make appointments ahead of time when you can and make sure you adjust your schedule accordingly. read more

Very professional and knowledgeable! I love Dr Hawkin. He's always so friendly and he smiles real big to make you feel welcome. After going to him for my eye exams and to get new contacts I feel very confident I'd want him to be my go-to optometrist. Used to always wear the 1 month soft contacts, never realising there were alternative options (daily & bi weekly). My 1 month prescription always started to irritate my eyes towards the end of the month, but I refused to wear dailys because how thin they were and harder it was to put them on. Dr Hawkin took a look at my eyes and gave me his honest feedback and gave me great options. He would continue to check up on me as I can in to pick up my contacts and make sure I tried out a pair for a few weeks before ordering the contacts and made sure I was walking out completely happy and even knowledgeable about my eyes. Staff is super friendly as well, the interior is clean! Recommended my wife to get her contacts here as well. She came in and had the exact same opinions as I did about this place. She has really bad eyes (close to -9) and she's had hard contacts all her life (I can't relate but she tells me how much of a pain those are), Dr Hawkin introduced her to soft lenses and she feels like a whole new set of eyes! It has been a number of months, but I just received an auto-text that I am overdue on my appointment - that made me rethink to share my story because what happened to me did not bother them. I had a lot of eye pain - enough for me to go to a doctor without an appointment. Given that I was a patient of Dr. Farson (then Optometry Corner) for over 20 years, I drove to the office to see if Dr. Lui could confirm that my eye pain was not serious - like a scratched cornea or lodged eyelash - I have pretty high eye pressure, so the pain was a little concerning. He was sitting in his office when I arrived, and there were 2 patients waiting. I asked the receptionist if he could find a few minutes to look at my eye because it really hurt. The receptionist went into his office to ask him, and she came back and told me that he had a full schedule. OK - I need to wait. So, I asked, if I waited, could he see me for 2 minutes between patients when it worked for him? She went to ask and came back to tell me "you may want to go to Emergency." He never left his office when I was there to even find out what was wrong exactly. His door was open, and you could see him sitting at his desk - at the moment, he was not with a patient. I was a patient for 20+ years - and he could not find 2 minutes to look at my eye at some point? I said "OK" and left. Perhaps the receptionist remembers because she looked puzzled too. I spent a lot of time with Dr. Hawkin Lui last weekend getting my eyes checked for glasses. I was nervous about getting the eye exam, but Dr. Lui was patient and very thorough, going over every detail as my eyes were scanned and examined under multiple high-tech devices. He was very knowledgeable about all areas of eye health. I have VSP insurance and found the perfect frames to go with my new prescription. I had a vacation planned and was in dire need of new disposable contacts. I generally have pretty dry eyes and Dr. Lui was amazing in helping me select a brand that was so comfortable I forget I am even wearing contacts! I was also in the market for new glasses, but have a few criteria as not a lot of glasses fit my face properly. I don't have a prominent nose bridge and need glasses that will stay put. I also hate when the rims rest on my cheeks or touch them when I smile. Lastly, wearing them for a long time sometimes gives me a headache if it's too tight. Dr. Lui heard my issues and knew exactly what brand fit all the criteria. I'm so in love with my new glasses made by MASQ and I'm constantly getting compliments about them. These are hands down the best pair of glasses I've ever owned (and I can't find this brand anywhere else!) Dr. Lui is the most knowledgeable and caring optometrist I've ever had (and believe me, I've had my fair share) and I cannot recommend him enough! read more
