Ping is always over 60, never a stable connection and constantly drops. Use at your own risk.

Wish I could give a zero, the connection is terrible. I don't need to write any more than what everyone else has.

Optix straight up sucks. Goes out like 5 times a day. We'll be switching back to Cableone real soon if our service doesn't improve quickly.

Service up to a few weeks ago has been great. Now, service has too many interruptions, usually in…read morethe afternoon. Service acknowledges these interruptions; however, cannot say when (or if) the problem(s) will be fixed. However, the big problem is they are raising their rates by five bucks, but offering a five dollar discount for direct pay. I have had direct pay since day one, but on a call (that took me about eight minutes to get through to a human) that five buck discount is for checking not for a CC. Ok, so after wasting that (that info could have been provided in the email but wasn't), I went online and changed it to a checking account and was told that they could not do the auto pay this month (it's still two weeks away) so they immediately deducted fifteen bucks from my checking. This action solved a big problem for me. Google is installing fiber in our neighborhood and I was not to interested; now, my reply to them when they knock on the door is where would they like to install the fiber optics cable box on the house. The immediate deduction was nothing to be, other than a pain in my rear since I float over 2K in my checking at all times; however, what would happen if the people DID NOT have the funds to cover it, or they did but this could cause other checks to bounce? Sparklight appears to try, they had good service; however, it appears they are headed for a corporate surprise when they find their customer calling to tell them to disconnect and they have jumped to the 1GIG or higher service offered by Google. Will it wake them up too late? Or do they really give a damn about customer service? (I would have sent this email to someone at their headquarters; however, they do not offer any email addresses, preferring for a person to call, be on the phone for a period of time and then talk to an agent who cares not one bit about a complaint from a customer.) NOTE: Just read reply. If the lady from Sparklight thinks I want to spend time waiting for someone to talk to or even take time to call she is badly mistaken. As noted, when Google is ready to install to my house, I will sign up and move on. And the sad part is, up until the fiasco with the increase, then a chance to decrease and he minor interruptions, I had told a friend last week I had no desire to change internet providers. How times change so quickly when big companies cannot comprehend a customer's reaction to complete incompetence by a few employees. Live and learn or move on and close the doors.

Truly the most horrific internet service I have ever had the misfortune of paying for. If there's a…read moreway to pay for GFiber or Starlink, I promise it is worth it. In the end, I never expected the internet speeds I was paying for, almost nobody can provide that (my bar is pretty low, especially in Idaho). What gets me is the lack of consistency. You like playing online video games? Not anymore you don't. At some point you will be disconnected and lose any progress. You like streaming an entire movie? Okay captain entitled, get off your high horse. Joking aside, I think their recent promotions to try and lock customers into their service show how panicked they are, and how much they were relying on a borderline monopoly to extort money from a group of hostage customers. Choose literally anything else.

Well I called to find out what kinda deals they had and talked to a total idiot but she did say they had 5 up and 5 down speed for 35 a month which is pretty good but she said they were waiting on equipment to get in and she would call me back to schedule a time. I never got a call back so I called them a week later and she said "oh I meant to call you" so anyways I just overlooked it which I shouldn't have and I asked if they had a time they could come out and hook me up she said yes but he has to call the technician but would call me right back. I said ok but please do. 4 hrs later after still not receiving a call I called them back and talked to the same person and I asked them what kind if customer service do they have when they can't even call me back!!! She said um well um! By this time I am totally pissed and said what time will your tech be here I just want internet she said that he would be here the next day and that I would just have to pay 150 for the installation and it would be applied towards my bill. The next day the tech showed up and said he just needed the 150 to start the job and I asked him about it being applied towards my bill and he said no it wouldn't be applied unless I signed up for a 1 year contract!!! I told him to go because if already this company is lying to me and not calling me back what hope can I have that my bill will be right or that if I need tech support I will have it? I can't in either!! I ended up going with century link not because of the speed but because at least if I have a problem I will get a hold of someone with integrity!! I would not recommend this place to an enemy!!

They used to be steady so just less interruptions than Cable one or Sparklight. They lost even that. Barely serviceable speeds. Technicians that never show. Rescheduling technician's visit for 3 (!!!) times. Three service appointments missed than they have the audacity to act like it is not the biggie they will give me fiddy dollaz if I lose 600. Cute. Their model always was do nothing it just works somehow. However their business model is not viable in 2023. Say you came to rent a motorized vehicle and are offered a 3 legged mule as a means of transportation. That is how their speeds and services compare to competitors in the current area.

I was able to "chat" with a live individual after at least 12 dozen different question rabbit holes and scheduled an appointment. For several years now, heavy, wet spring snows short out the lines and render the service unusable, but was unable to communicate that to the automated customer disservice system. Tech came -- problem fixed. More bad weather 2 days later same problem, only this time I tried a different approach to the problem. Tried to get a tech for phone instead of internet and the process was slower and the "chat" was with someone who spoke limited English; as was clearly demonstrated by their syntax and verb usage. Later that evening my bank contacted me when an overseas customer service company tried to charge my credit card 5 different charges which were not authorized by me (have auto pay on my credit card). Fortunately, my bank contacted me and I was able to stop the transactions before they occurred. Needless to say, today I contacted another ISP and will have it up and running tomorrow, I hope. Whoever thought automating customer service was a good idea should be fired! And, I won't even talk about foreign call centers. This time.
