I had an unexpected and scary moment during a workout when my vision suddenly became extremely blurred. Panicked and unsure how I would even get home safely, I remembered there was an optometrist office in the same complex and walked in for help. From the moment I explained my situation, the kindness I was met with was overwhelming. The receptionist immediately reassured me and brought the doctor out despite how busy they were. He took the time to examine me calmly and quickly figured out what had happened. What truly touched me was that he gave me a temporary pair of lenses close to my prescription so I could drive home safely and they didn't ask for anything in return. No payment, no paperwork, nothing. In a world where everything feels transactional, this was a genuine act of humanity. I'm deeply grateful and wanted to say thank you. If you're reading this, I won't forget your kindness. Starting the new year with this experience restored my faith in people. Please support this business, they truly care about people, not just profits. read more

Great experience all around. Hadn't been back in over a decade but the efficiency and service was just as good as I remembered. Nice to count on that reliability. The doctor's exam is quick but thorough and the appointment was probably no more than 15 minutes. Insurance covered the majority of my expenses. There are plenty of frames to choose from post-appointment. I chose a nice pair by Burberry. Frames come in a variety of price points if paying extra for designer is not within your budget. Doctor is nice. The ladies at the front desk are helpful and accommodating. All in all it's a smooth process. I actually tried out the eye services at Kaiser and regretted it entirely. I do not recommend. So I was very pleased I was able to return to Optivision for my exam & get the correct prescription. read more

I had an eye exam and bought two pairs of glasses at Optivision Optometric. They applied the discount provided by my health insurance. I had a chance to try on many pairs before I chose without being rushed. Later that month I took a fall on a curb in my neighborhood and then another time at a busy farmers market. I landed on my face and bent the hinge pretty badly. I took them in and the lady behind the counter fixed them. Both times. No charge. I was so glad I was dealing with a small local shop. The glasses are fine now and I'm committed to staying upright. I want to thank them. read more

Dr. Rodgin is my kids (11 and 17) optometrist for over 3 years, both tried contacts with the doctor, kids were v picky and being first time for younger one it was not easy for him to adjust to lens. Dr. Rodgin was patient and gave him multiple brands to try on until he is set with one. read more

I have been a client/patient for over 25 years. They have always gone the extra mile to provide service. This goes for replacewment parts on frames as well as exams and new glasses. I credit Dr. Rodgin's thorough exams in idetifying cataracts and saving my vision. Regina and the front office staff are also very attentative in making sure all my needs are met. read more

Needed to find a place that I could go to get an annual check in with for me and my family. Dr. Rodgin was very thorough and super friendly. I recommend his services if you are looking! do not understand the low reviews, seems to be from patients who have miscommunication such or language issue. Even I myself struggle with this but I try to understand.. I have started coming to Optivision clinic shortly after pandemic in 2020. It is a pleasure to receive my post card where I can call the office to speak to any one of the lovely receptionist. Never I have a bad encounter, nor witness negativity. I was referred here by not just 1 but 2 colleagues of mine. That is no coincidence which just shows how great this establishment is. It is a little office corner off of shopping plaza. Many frame options and Doctor Henry Rodgin is very knowledgeable . I have had nothing but good luck and great service here. More recently they have removed barriers and staff and doctor do not wear mask, so it is great to see the beautiful faces. Older reception lady is very helpful and has fixed many glasses and adjust them for us too and she always has the stylish glasses look. Younger reception lady have stunning eyes and is very polite and friendly, every time I ask a question there is no hesitation and always willing to help me with any multiple requests i need . I am always happy to see either of this wonderful staff and always look forward to my vision health wellness check.. Do not be deterred by negative reviews as they usually do not come from a place of honesty rather because patients can also be very pushy towards receptions people . Thank you Optivision Optometric you are the best.. read more

The one star is given to Regina, the front counter woman. I must give 5 stars + for Dr. Henry Rodgin. I used to check why the women receptionist in doctors office are very rude, rough, uncourteous on the GOOGLE search. I found all the answers are exact right and very reliable just as I experienced at many doctors offices. When I walked in, I said " Good Morning " to her, no answer to me. I asked a few questions to her. But rejected to tell me the true answers by tell me a few funny untrustworthy excuses instead of right replies. When I walked out, I said " Thank you. See you next year. " Still no reply. read more

Been happily going to Dr. Rodgin for 30 years. Before cataract surgery I needed to see him every 6 months because my vision would change and I'd need a prescription tune-up in one or both eyes. The people there are attentive and patient! I've been there since high school and I still love this place to this day.

2 months ago I brought my spare pair of glasses to Optivision Optometric in my neighborhood to replace the lens. Unfortunately the factory broke the frame of my glasses. I was okay with that at the first place since it's an old and spare pair of glasses. However, Optivision Optometric has been extremely responsible and working with the factory to order a pair of the exact same new frame from Japan. After 2 month wait, they got the new frame with the new lens from the factory and I just picked it up. Dr. Rodgin also came out to greet me. It was a wonderful experience and I truly respect such honest, responsible business. I told the Dr. that you'll have all my business in the future! Thank you Dr. Rodgin and Optivision Optometric! read more

Have been seeing Dr Rodgin for few years now and brought several members of the family in too. He is a great OD doctor looking out for eye health and best of the 'large asian practices' which are anti-septic and error prone. Also he corrected a difficult standing desk prescription that one of above large asian practices nearby gave. read more

Not impressed. Went for a contact lens exam - the doctor was nice & all, nothing special. Called today to get my prescription transferred to Costco and boy did I encounter some attitude. Doesn't look like I'll be headed back. As a side note, if you don't LOVE the smell of indian food - this is NOT the place for you. Since it's right next door to an indian grocer, the place REEKS of spices. Not what everyone wants to smell during an eye exam or when picking out glasses. read more

My family has been seeing Dr. Henry Rodgin for ten years, and I hope to keep doing so for at least ten more. He's friendly and extremely knowledgable, but even more importantly, his care compromises nothing between long-term health and well-fitted eyewear. On one occasion, he even squeezed me in during office hours for an emergency exam and an eye drop prescription. Two years later, he looked back at the charts and asked if the condition ever recurred. You really can't ask for a better all-around eye physician. read more

I'm pleased to be able to leave a 5 star review for such a fine establishment as I may say. First off, Dr. Rodgin is an amazing optometrist with extensive knowledge and assertiveness. Regina is the office manager for as far as I've known and she is amazing. I've went here for an exam not too long ago and she was able to help me with a screw in my frames. I've noticed as well there is a nice young lady, by the name of Nina I believe, and she is one of the best I've ever met here besides Regina. I have to say, I've been here long enough to have met the other "candidates" if I may say, and they're nothing like your newest gal. She is sweet, helpful, and personable as well. I have came and also phoned to the office during rush hours AKA busy season and I can remember many times "Nina" pickup the phone with a kind welcoming voice. Dr. Rodgin, I have to say you now have the perfect office and you have found the best team. I'm thrilled to be a long time patient and I continue to keep it that way as long as we have this dynamic duo. read more

I had been going to Dr. Rodgin for a very long time, because I simply didn't know any better. Upon switching to a new optometrist, I finally realize what a crooked operation they are running over at Optivision. It turns out Dr. Rodgin was prescribing me this random brand of contact lens that is impossible to find anywhere in the US or online, just so I would have to buy them through him. They weren't even comfortable. He obviously did not have my best interest in mind. Not only that, but the last time I went to Optivision for my checkup, they charged me $90 after insurance (and I have amazing vision insurance), and that's not including any contacts or glasses. Bottom line: Don't go here. There are plenty of good optometrists out there, and this isn't one of them. read more

Dr Henry Rodgin and his staff are amazing. I had a wonderful experience. The staff is very courteous and personable. The dr was very efficient and took the time to answer all my questions. I was having a hard time deciding a frame, so the front receptionist actually walked me through different frames that would suit me. They promptly called me when my glasses were ready to be picked up. All in all a great experience. read more

Doctor and staff are substandard. Where do I start? My appointment was confirmed by a 9:00 AM Saturday morning phone call. Got my exam. Had to call the office to see if my glasses came in. They were delivered a couple days before. Person at the desk couldn't read her own writing and called the wrong phone. They were the wrong frames. When I ordered them I said, "If these come in gold, I will take them." They sent silver frames out. Their excuse, "They do not come in gold!" Wore the glasses for a week or so, they were not right. Went back, doctor gave me a second exam. If I understand correctly, he took a short cut with my exam and gave me an incorrect prescription. I wait, get the "correct" prescription. 2nd pair worse than the first. The lab made the lenses incorrectly. They have a machine to measure and confirm prescription before they give them to me. They did not with me because "99 out of 100 glasses are OK." "3rd time will be a charm, we will put a rush on it." 3rd pair took the longest of all to get back. Went to the office to pick them up. Got there at 4:57 PM, office was locked up. They were "open" until 5:00 that day. Pair #3 were bad too. Set the glasses aside for a couple months. Ended going to a different doctor, got a different prescription and had to fight to get the 4th prescription filled. If you are looking for an optometrist, keep looking. read more

Dr Rodgin did a piss poor and unprofessional job, plain and simple. After I had my exam, he shuttled me out of the exam room without telling me what my prescription was or explaining anything. He simply said "OK, you're done. Go ahead and pick out some frames." When I asked if I could get my prescription in writing, he sighed deeply, then scribbled some incomprehensible mess on a piece of paper and handed it to me. This was nearly useless as it just had some random numbers with no other identifying details What kind of doctor gets annoyed when the patient requests his own medical records? This was the first warning sign. . Also, his prices were extremely high when compared to pretty much any other place. To top it all off, I went for a LASIK pre-operation examination and the prescription measurements they gave me versus Dr Rodgin's were completely off. There was a difference of -2 diopters in the prescription strength, and Dr Rodgin completely missed the 1.25 astigmatism I had in both eyes. In other words, the exam he did was worthless and he failed at his job completely. Stay as far away from this greedy joke of a doctor as possible. Given my experience, I'm pretty sure I could have randomly thrown some darts at a chart with eyeglass prescription numbers and gotten better results than this useless doctor gave me. read more

Not sure what on EARTH the negative reviewer is talking about... I have been seeing Dr. Rodgin for almost twenty years (I'm 25) and he is quite simply the best at what he does. Dr. Rodgin is an excellent optometrist. He is knowledgeable, personable and his practice is not a "people mill". He gets to know you and address your concerns, offering suggestions and being sensitive to costs. As others have stated, he is very unprofessional. I am a software developer in Silicon Valley who came to his office in need of a new contact lens prescription; he seems to only recognize me as an attractive 23-year-old woman and proceeded to treat me as nothing more than that, calling me a "chick" and asking uncomfortably personal questions throughout my eye exam as a way of making small talk. My cold reception did not seem to affect his demeanor. I am not happy with the prescription I received either, but it was close enough to what I needed that I didn't want to even try to go back and correct it. Not worth the trouble. Once I run out of contacts in a few months I plan to take my business elsewhere. read more

Horrible experience! Ordered the frames with lenses at the Henry Rodgin's office. Haven't used them right after I got them, as I was away for business trip and unfortunately I left them at home. Once I started using them I guess because of the coating for which I paid 170$ I experienced so much discomfort that I noticed my vision got becoming worse. The problem was in the 'Anti-Reflective Coat Polycarbonate' Lens Enhancements. Whenever I looked to my right or left - I saw everything in red. The worst I put them first time before driving - luckily I came to work safe, but that was the only luck I had with the glasses! Finally I went to the doctor's office and asked him to do something about the problem. He started convincing me that the problem is in my poor vision. I told him this is not my first glasses, but this is the first time I had such problem, so the I pointed out that the problem is not in my vision. Then he said that not everyone notices this issue in the lenses(so he knew about the problem, but still prescribed me these lenses, which cost me money). When I said that I'll go to the court and prove the lenses caused problems with my health he said that he'll pay for the lenses from his pocket and he'll return me the glasses with the basic lenses!!! But I paid 170$ for the Enhancements, which btw hasn't been reimbursed after!!! Is it considered to be the service I deserved for the total amount (exam + frames + lenses) - $672.00?! read more

I second the remarks on Dr. Rodgin's professionalism and empathy. I have been coming here for eye tests and glasses for about 20 years now, The equipment he uses has improved a great deal, as you would expect, but his professional manner is as good as it ever was. Plus, I can report that before a repeat visit he actually looks at the records of the past visits - which is something not all medical professionals do. read more

It is strange that either people LOVE this place, or HATE this place. I will be honest and say I've been coming here for over 10 years (mainly because it is conveniently located near to where I live). That said, the last TWO experiences have been quite less than satisfactory. In August, I got a pair of reading glasses made and waited a couple weeks -- nobody called -- when I called I was told "oh, they just came in today". When I tried them on, the prescription was WAY off. The receptionist(s) are both quite pleasant, and there was a prescription "error" and they were sent back to be redone. Again, a couple weeks went by, and I called and was told "oh, they just came in you can pick them up". Fortunately, THIS pair was perfect. Fast forward six months and I wanted to have my second (spare) pair of reading glasses upgraded to my new prescription from August. Came in, brought the glasses, paid and waited. Again, a couple weeks go by, I call and "oh, they just came in". Once again, the prescription was "off" and someone, either in the office or at the lab, had changed a "1" to a "0" either because of bad handwriting or didn't care (you'd think, if the lab couldn't tell if it was a "1" or a "0" they'd call to verify? Once again, I waited and called, and, guess what? Yep "oh, they just came in". This pair was also "right" the 2nd time around, but, this has now been twice in a row ... and, frankly, I won't be going back a 3rd time. Recommendation: office staff: when customer glasses come in, CALL THE CUSTOMER... trays and trays of glasses sit at the receptionist desk -- I wonder if ANY of their owners are called and told "oh, your glasses are in"? Adios Optivision read more

Courtesy is not a strong suit at the front desk. I called to see if I could schedule an eye exam. After telling me there were no appointments available today, as I was hesitating slightly to decide what to ask next, the receptionist said goodbye and hung up on me. I called back to politely advise her that I did not care for the hangup before I was done with my questions and she gave a grudging semi-apology and insinuated that the fault was on my side. At no time did she make an attempt to meet my eye care needs or suggest alternative dates or times for an exam. Her focus appeared to be entirely on deflecting and contradicting my mild complaint. I've been getting my glasses here for nearly 20 years and this shop is just half a mile from my house, so it's very convenient. At this point, I'm ready to drive 20 minutes to a Lenscrafters where my expectations would be lower and there's less chance for a disappointment. Dr. Rodgin, there's still a chance to salvage this long-standing business relationship....just promise me you'll get your receptionist retrained in basic phone manners and dealing with the public. read more

Dr. Rodgin is okay, he is nice and friendly, but what goes for his professional skills, he doesn't seem very interested in doing his job properly. His two assistants at the front desk however are extremely rude and don't even try to hide their attitude. Last time I was there it crossed all of the lined of "appropriate". To my questions (and I only asked two!) the answer was very rude and the woman had a very disrespectful tone as if meaning "how dare you ask me questions, not what I sit for here". Have been going there for 6 years, but will never go back there again. Ever! I've had enough with this place. read more

I have been a customer for a few years now. At another local Optometrist, my daughter had been recommended for "eye therapy" which was going to cost a fortune. I wanted a second opinion. Dr. Rodgin was that second opinion. Dr. Rodgin got her into the right prescription and no expensive "eye therapy" 3 X's per week was needed. Then, I started coming for myself. And, then my husband started seeing Dr. Rodgin. What we like best is that he just knows his practice, and there's not a feeling of continuous up-selling. We just need to see! He explains, "this coating is going to cost you $120, do you want it? It's not necessary." And, then I can make an informed decision on what to buy, or not buy. But, the real reason for this posting is that I was using readers with my contacts to work on the computer and to read. Once my contacts are out I can see up close without any problems. With my prescription glasses I simply take them off to read. I felt silly wearing contacts and readers, but I didn't think there was any other solution. It turns out there is a solution, that Dr. Rodgin suggested last week. Different strength prescriptions for each eye. The dominant eye does the faraway vision. The other eye with a weaker prescription can see up close. With my contacts in I can safely drive, and I can read, and I can work on the computer without readers! It's really wonderful. I feel like I've been given my vision back! Thank you Dr. Rodgin! read more

Dr. Henry Rodgin is the best optometrist I have ever had! He is very polite and knowledgeable about everything. What also impresses me is that he always has the most advanced equipment and being from High Tech, I am very observant of new technology. I have had optometrists in the past that rush through my exam so fast and then the eye glasses do not even work for my eyes. Dr. Rodgin also has a very nice selection of frames from ones for young people to name brands and very sophisticated frames. He also has special contacts for people who like contacts as my friend who went to him said he loves his contacts from Dr. Rodgin. His service is wonderful and his assistants are very helpful. Their waiting room is nice with great new magazines for every interest. He is a caring optometrist as well. I live in Las Vegas now, and I still fly out to see only him at my optomotetrist. He also has many years of experience. Another interesting fact is that my mother's eye blood vessels were popping and she told me her optometrist said it was from allergies. I have had allergies all my life which Dr. Rodgin gave me a special prescription for my eyes for and my eye blood vessels have never popped in my life from my allergies. My mom's cardiologist said that she needed to be on blood pressure medication; however, she would not take it so she asked me to ask Dr. Henry Rodgin about her eyes and without even seeing her or knowing her story, he told me that was from her blood pressure problem. So, my mom listened to her cardiologist and takes her blood pressure medication and now her eye blood vessels do not pop. Kim Bert read more
