I've been going to this office for about 30 years. They're the best! I went today for my annual eye exam and to have sunglasses repaired. Dr. Cristina Trin is everything you want in a doctor- very thorough, very knowledgeable, very patient with questions, and extremely helpful and kind. Liana carefully adjusted a finicky frame, sent the lenses for replacement under warranty, patiently researched and answered many questions about insurance coverage for several different kinds of frames and lenses, kindly refilled my little bottles of glasses cleaner and even gave me a new cleaning cloth. She is really skilled at everything she does, and was also incredibly nice and helpful. I highly recommend this place! read more

Dr. Holbert and Associates was, unfortunately, one of the worst experiences I've ever had while shopping for glasses for my 9-year-old son. From the moment we walked in, we waited quite a while before anyone even acknowledged us, despite the store being completely empty. When someone finally did, she placed a box of unorganized glasses in front of us and simply walked away. She was extremely rude and provided absolutely no assistance. Several other employees came out from the back, but instead of offering to help, they would immediately return to the back room. At no point did anyone check on us, offer guidance, or seem interested in helping us find the right frames for my son. The selection of frames was also very limited, but the customer service was by far the biggest disappointment. After this experience, I will never return to this location, and I would not recommend wasting your time here. We ended up going to LensCrafters in Mountain View afterward, and the experience was completely different. We were greeted immediately and received excellent help from the staff. They were welcoming, knowledgeable, and actually took the time to help us find frames that were a good fit for my son. The selection of frames was also significantly better. The contrast between the two experiences was night and day. I'm very glad we decided to leave Dr. Holbert and Associates and go somewhere else. read more

This place is the best, have been coming here for years,my husband and I.The office is very clean and they have the lastest equipment to check you eyes health.Dr Holbert always explains everything perfectly. Went to eye insitute at stanford one and only time.waited 90 minutes as they always overbook, then the person who examined my eyes never updated my record to tell me about scarring in my eye, which Dr holbert did.Thank goodness benign but still not right.The staff are all very well informed and so polite.A huge assortment of glasses including designer.Sometimes parking gets a little busy, but you can park on side or come early.They do have other offices but this is my fav.as we love the whole team. read more

We have been going to Holbert & Associates for over 2 decades and have never been disappointed. Both my wife and I had cataract surgery and thought that would end our need for glasses, but we thought maybe we could get even better resolution so we opted for vision exams. In my case I needed distance improvement and got glasses that made a significant improvement and planned to only use them for driving. But after finding how often I was taking the glasses off and on, I regretted not getting progressive lenses. I was extremely surprised that a Holbert associate told me that I could replace the lenses with the only additional cost being for the progressive feature. The support and knowledge of the associates are exemplary. read more

Had to work through my new insurance plans: Medicare and my Advantage plan; took some phone calling, but I knew I didn't have a co-pay with my new plan; co-pay was with VSP only. Staff was helpful to work through that. I hadn't requested the photo of retina, but that got put on my chart as 'yes take that photo', just be sure you're tracking the details if don't want that extra service. Their selection of high end glasses is great and I look forward to buying a new pair every year. Their selection is so good that my sister from VA had her prescription filled here because they had a pair that she fell in love with. They breakdown the cost so well theres no surprises. Had an 18-month eye exam last Friday. I switched to the Sunnyvale office from Valley Fair since COVID. I found parking in front of the store on Friday as well. Arrived 5 minutes early and waited only another 5 minutes before Cristina brought me into the exam room. Tests went smoothly. I absolutely do not recommend. Ends the store manager has zero customer service. I dropped off my glasses to have the lenses replaced and she informed me that it would be ready in 3 weeks. Well, 3 weeks took 3 months. She allegedly called and left me a v/m which I never received because the number she called is no longer a valid number. However, I gave a secondary number and an email on file which she didn't not bother to contact me. When asked why, her reply was that we only contact one number and we don't go through the list of contacting patients via other methods. What a BS of a reply!!!! I finally was able to reach Dr. Holbert and explained the situation. He said he 100% agrees with me and will talk to Endy. Please note this too is unacceptable as he was quick to get off the phone with me. He too had no explanation because he didn't have any customer skills either. Patients really on their glasses, so Dr. Holbert should hire qualified personnel who know how to serve and communicate with customers. Don't waste your time with this office! read more

I get my annual eye exam with Dr. Cristina Trinh and she's friendly, fast, and efficient. The staff at the Sunnyvale location are friendly as well. The only downside is once you get your prescription glasses or sunglasses, they cannot be returned or exchanged, unlike major chains like LenCrafters which offers a 30-day return policy. I bought a pair of prescription glasses a couple years ago and the lens came back thicker than expected, but I couldn't return or exchange them. read more

The optometrist here is thorough, explains everything, and is knowledgeable with questions. The front desk staff is pretty dismissive, inconsistent with info provided, and sometimes just rude. Made back to back eye appointments for my wife and I on a Saturday. They called twice to confirm in advance, and both times emphasized the $25 cancellation fee and 10min grace period on Saturdays. So we def didn't want to be late. Walked right in at appointment time and given an iPad to fill out info. Did not start my appointment until 25min after scheduled time. While I was waiting, I heard a client call in to say they were gonna be late and the front desk staff shut them down- 10min grace period, $25 charge thanks and bye. When I inquired about our appointment since it was 20min late, they told me just to sit down and wait. Cool. After our eye exams, my wife and I (who each have the same insurance) were given inconsistent information on what our benefits were. We were told to let them know after we looked around so they could check us out. Waited around 10min after telling someone we were ready before another woman came out and was like "Oh, you're all set. You can go." There are a lot of optometrists out there. Nothing special about this one. Frame selection is weak. Prices are average/to above average. read more
